Fab scans ladies!
Mine is today. Have taken the day off of work so I don't have to worry about going in if its a bad result. I've been really anxious about if but I've actually woken up feeling more excited nervous than scared nervous.

Jfw82 · 10/06/2016 06:52

Ermmm mines 13th too- it feels like it's taking a long time to get there!

weechops · 10/06/2016 07:13

ermmm I'm still waiting for my scan. It's next Friday the 17th. Can't wait!

Admarks · 10/06/2016 07:45

Ermm still waiting for my scan too - 21st June.... I think I may be the last (makes sense with an EDD of 31/12/16 though!). I just want the next week and a half to pass, I swear time has slowed down since my bfp!

Bella1985 · 10/06/2016 07:53

I think I can officially be the last with the scan - haven't even got a date yet! Argh! Had my booking in yesterday and we've requested the 21st or 23rd june for the scan so hoping the hospital co-operates!! DD is currently 25th dec but had an early reassurance scan and they estimated I'm a week behind at 31st Dec or possibly 1st jan! Being at the end of the month feels like such a long wait when everyone else is having lovely scan news! Great to see the pics, hoping mine will be equally as good and positive news!

BristolLFR · 10/06/2016 08:01

Thanks for the welcome all :)

And welcome to Led too, congrats on your scan x

Nuttypops · 10/06/2016 08:15

Weechops, they must keep you very busy I imagine!

I did the NHS antenatal classes as well as NCT classes last time. The NHS ones were less in depth but still quite useful.

sueevone · 10/06/2016 08:20

barkingtreefrog DH and I got a Doppler and after a few attempts found little one. It's been the most reassuring thing for me as I'm such a worrier, especially now my symptoms have backed off a bit. We limit scanning to once a week if I'm worried.
I'd have been a bag of nerves if we didn't have one.

Helgathehairy · 10/06/2016 09:44

I don't have a date for my scan either. Here in Ireland it's not necessarily at 12 weeks. With DD it was 15 weeks.
I did have an early scan at 8 weeks.

ElodieS · 10/06/2016 10:48

Morning! Hope you’re all doing well today! I’ve been a bit out of it with a manic week in and out of hospital with DT1. DP has taken over today so I’ve got the day to get myself sorted out… I’m on MN instead though, oops!

Welcome to Bristol and Led, and congratulations on the scans!

I’m planning on starting Mat Leave around week 38 if I can HannahJH, with DTs I finished at 35 weeks, but hoping to go a bit longer this time and have more time after LO arrives.

Lots of lovely scan news all round, glad to hear they went well for you all Pacific, Graperfuit and kitty! Not too long to wait until Monday now Ermmm, bumblecat and Jfw82, hope you’re able to relax over the weekend.

I think I have to let my employer know by 25 weeks at the latest Pacific, but I’m planning to tell them as soon as my working pattern is back to normal and I’m in the office, probably the week after next. My manager is generally really good and supportive to I’m not expecting it to be an issue but I think they usually appreciate more notice if possible.

I did NCT last time TipBooy and enjoyed it, we made some great friends locally too so it was worth it for that. I’m thinking about the NHS active birthing one this time too, since I’m keen to avoid a C-Section. I ended up with EmCS with DT2 as she was in an awkward position, but I’d prefer a vaginal birth if possible, ideally in the water, but we’ll see…

Best of luck with the exams Mejse!

Looseyloo411 · 10/06/2016 10:54

How's everyone's little bumps coming along? I'm on a Facebook group and some of the mums have proper little bumps... I'm just soft round the middle with a bit of bloat!

Looseyloo411 · 10/06/2016 10:55

Don't mind the stripped sofa and messy house BlushI just look fat!

lilydaisyrose · 10/06/2016 11:26

barkingtreefrog I've had a doppler for ages - started trying to use it around 9.5w (I know this was far too early) and tried around once a week since then with no success. This morning at exactly 14w+0d (think we have the same due date), I heard the baby's strong fast little heartbeat for the first time! Yay! I also heard kicking that I cant feel yet and sloshy moving around sounds! I will try and find it again later and record for you. I'm a size 22/24 and think you are slim, so I imagine you'd be able to find it now - just be patient if you try as it always takes me a while.

So feeling really happy after that! I definitely feel bigger this week and feel like I need to move into maternity clothes soon. No-one knows still though so just have to make it through the next 3w squeezing into what I've got and making do (as I know I'll look pregnant and not just fat once I go into maternity clothes) - we plan to tell people at the start of July, when the school summer holidays start and then I'll also have been paid so can buy some maternity clothes!

Life very busy here with kids, work, business etc - this time of year is always manic with shows, concerts, end of term stuff, sports days and just general chaos. Wishing the next few weeks away so we can finally come clean re. baby news and enjoy the summer after the end of term.

I haven't told work yet - planning to around 16/17w. I'm not sure when I'll finish up - thinking officially 1st Dec (due 9th) but actually take 2w leave so finish up on Thurs 17th Nov. I only do 3 short days though and drive myself to work with no real traffic issues, think I'd be finishing earlier if I had tube/trains/full time work to deal with. My leave year runs 1st Jan to 31st Dec so hoping to take one year to 30th Nov 2017 then accrued holidays (7w) so go back around Tues 23rd Jan 2018 give or take a day or so - will obviously have to check all this out with employer but means I can stay off until baby is over 1 y/o and over Christmas etc. I took 14m off with my first baby and that was amazing.

Does anyone know how HidinginPlainS1ght is? I've been thinking about her and wondering how she is?

LucySB123 · 10/06/2016 11:29

May I join? I have an early Jan due date but due to underlying medical condition baby more likely to come early than late. With my first I was 3wks early (hopefully baby 2 doesn't come any earlier than that) and had to wait a month before the second NCT group baby. we heard a lovely hb at our early scan at 8wks and our next scan is in 10 days. Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday

Helgathehairy · 10/06/2016 11:56

I had a GP appointment this morning and he found the heartbeat on the Doppler!! Took him a while and I was starting to worry but it showed up! Pretty relieved.

SteffiMuse · 10/06/2016 12:06

Barking I have a Doppler and it's been amazing for my anxiety. I think it's well worth the money. I had mine from Amazon and got the sonoline B. It has a higher frequency than some so can pick up HB easier

FluffyPickleMonster · 10/06/2016 12:10

On my way to my scan now, eeeeek! Keep everything crossed!

firawla · 10/06/2016 12:41

Good luck for everyone with scans today and Monday!

I just got my letter through for the 20 week scan appointment (1st August) and it looks like Watford have changed policy and now they will tell you baby's sex at the scan, so I was surprised to see that in the letter. Still probably planning to go for 16 week private scan anyway as I had been looking forward to that

I will probably do the Nhs clssss. I'd been thinking whether to do nct to meet people but tbh it might be hard to fit it in and as its #4 Nhs should be more than adequate really!

Bump feels pretty big, depending on the clothes it's quite noticeable

TinySalmon · 10/06/2016 13:23

Ladies, I think I've hit a new hormonal low. I just cried my eyes out after listening to an old(ish) song - Natasha Bedingfield's 'Unwritten'. Ha! Why???!

So many lovely scan pics! And good luck to those with scans today and coming up x

Growingbeanno2 · 10/06/2016 13:34

HannahJH · 10/06/2016 16:02

Has anyone thought about reading any pregnancy books?! Is it too soon? X

Bigfam · 10/06/2016 17:45

Does anyone know how many paracetamol it's safe to take, is it only 1 at a time? I've literally been in tears today and my dentist can't give me an appointment til Sunday when I have to phone for an emergency appointment.

14 weeks today, it seems to have gone so quickly

becciandbump · 10/06/2016 17:58

bigfam just looked it up for you and one website said that paracetamol taken in first trimester cause no increases in birth defects. I took 2 paracetamol on 2 occasions around week 8 x

Successful scan here today! Meet mini monster! Very wriggly and doing somersaults! NT measurement was 1.9, so low risk but awaiting bloods. All as it should be, moved me forward one day so now due 17th dec instead of 18th. One day closer, hurrah!
