Loving all the scans! It's getting me all excited for mine next week. I have a doctors appointment this afternoon about the SPD starting early, so hopefully I can get referred to physio or something. I can't remember who said to try pilates, but I'm looking at that too now, thanks.

HannahJH · 08/06/2016 07:26

The word nervous doesn't even begin to describe how I feel this morning!!!! 1 hr 20 mins and I'll know if all is well!!

Hope everyone else with scans gets on ok today too xxxx

TinySalmon · 08/06/2016 07:38

barking yes to the crazy vivid dreams and headaches!! I've been trying to drink lots of water and rest but it seems as soon as the headache comes on there's nothing I can do but suffer. And these headaches are lasting 6, 7, 8+ hours :( Now that I'm in 2nd trimester I think I'm allowed to take the normal dose of paracetamol but in the first 12 weeks the IVF nurses told me to only take paracetamol in absolute emergencies as they didn't want me putting any other drugs in to my body. It was hell!

Good luck hannah and everyone else with scans over the next few days. Fingers crossed everything is fine!!

cnchapmanxx · 08/06/2016 08:15

Everyone's scans are so amazing and wonderful! Still makes me cry at the fact we are all carrying little miracles inside of us!

I've got my official NHS scan today at 10.30am even though I've had one last week I'm still nervous about this one still hoping everything is alright!!

Good luck to anyone else who's scan is today, tomorrow or this week! ❤️❤️❤️

Theaks · 08/06/2016 08:23

I have had a headache since lunch time on Monday. Really not shifting and I'm really struggling to work or even be at home. Don't want to take too many paracetamol, the ones I'm taking don't seem to work anywho. Really want to stay in bed but I have commitments at work today Sad.

Hoping everyone today having scans have a lovely wriggly experience X

Mrsthedog · 08/06/2016 09:20

Beautiful scan pictures - congratulations' mummas!!

I am 15 weeks today and the lovely heartburn and indigestion is starting to take hold.

Stock up on Gaviscon, ladies!! Blush

SolomanDaisy · 08/06/2016 09:41

All the scan pictures are lovely! I'm paranoid about posting mine because several relatives use Mumsnet and have seen them. Although they all look pretty similar, so I'm being a bit ridiculous. My scan feels like ages ago. I've moved onto worrying about the 20 week scan, which I need to get booked in.

mrsthedog, I'm nearly 15 weeks and have a full supply of gaviscon! Heartburn is not fun.

Looseyloo411 · 08/06/2016 09:56

Physio this Morning following a car crash last month then scan this afternoon at 2, finally excited for it! I just want to know what I'm having already, might tell dd & ds today... Was going to wait until I was 16 weeks and take them to a private scan so not 100% yet

Grapefruit8 · 08/06/2016 10:45

Can't wait to see today's haul of scan pics! Good luck ladies, keep us informedx

Bigfam · 08/06/2016 11:15

Good luck to those with scans today.

My 20week appointment has been booked, 25th of July Smile I just think to myself it's only the end of next month & it doesn't seem too far away.

OrianaBanana · 08/06/2016 11:22

Good luck those with scans!

I am consultant led because my DS was huge and they don't want to let no. 2 get as big as him because he got stuck. I have an appointment for August, they obviously don't want to see me until later and then they'll just do some extra scans and induce 'early' if necessary. They will also monitor me more closely for GD (didn't appear to have it last time but it doesn't hurt to check).

Those with headaches - I sympathise. Have you tried 4head? I find it brilliant and you can get it at most supermarkets.

Hannahcarp27 · 08/06/2016 11:38

So just started to think about maternity leave and was wondering what everyone else has offered as a package from there work. Been told my company is pretty good but it doesn't seem that great. First baby so no idea how to work my finances at the moment! Good luck to all scans today

HannahJH · 08/06/2016 11:47

Everything was ok and I've been moved forward 3 days to 11th December!! Wahoo! I also have my 20 week scan booked for the 25th July, 6 days before our first wedding anniversary Grin

I get nothing from work other than the statutory that they have to give. Going to be poor times but oh well!! X

December 2016 babies... 2nd trimester in sight
Thisisbonkers · 08/06/2016 12:02

I only get statutory maternity too. It sucks but better than a slap in the face with a wet fish.

Jfw82 · 08/06/2016 12:16

Hannahcarp27 , my work pays you 50% of your salary for 6 months and then so long as you go back after your mat leave then 6 months after first day back at work they pay you a bonus of 25% of your salary- works out overall that (so long as you go back) you get the equivalent of full pay for 6 months. I'm also first baby and have been trying to work out what the finance looks like

weechops · 08/06/2016 12:34

Just home from the doctor. Bit of a waste of time I guess 😕 She said the best thing to do is wait for my 16 week midwife appointment and ask to be referred to maternity physio. Hopefully it stays as a dull ache until then!

Theaks · 08/06/2016 12:49

I have tried the 4head stick. It Gives slight relief but doesn't help that much Sad.

StubbleTurnips · 08/06/2016 13:02

I found last time we could live on much less, I get 12 weeks full pay and then statutory. Was afraid id only get 9 months off but after surviving on stat mat I wasn't afraid to take the year off.

Although we did save like mad to tide us through it. We didn't actually dip into our savings that much by the time I returned to work.

barkingtreefrog · 08/06/2016 13:14

Smp only here as well. If only I was still teaching!

Anyone know what the paternity arrangements are for teachers? My dh is worried that baby will arrive late, and he'll have a few days paternity leave then it will be Xmas holidays and he won't be able to take the rest of it afterwards so he'll 'lose' it, does it work that way?!
I've told him to look at his policy but that might take him a while....

barkingtreefrog · 08/06/2016 13:20

You are entitled to either one or two consecutive weeks’ paternity leave that must be taken within 56 days of the birth of the child.

This is what the NASUWT union says. Would 'consecutive weeks' span over a holiday period though?

Eskerina81 · 08/06/2016 13:27

Lovely to see all the scan pictures :)

My hayfever's been awful this week. Poor baby must be jumping around a lot with all my sneezing. I went to the GP yesterday about it but he was reluctant to prescribe anything this early in pregnancy so I'm back to hoping for a change in the weather :(

ElodieS · 08/06/2016 13:40

Mine's gone down since I had DTs, but it still isn't bad. I get 39 weeks of statutory maternity pay (SMP) – £138.13 per week + enhanced maternity pay (EMP) to bring that up to equivalent of salary for the first 18 weeks + accruing annual leave on full pay. I think I'll take 6 months off so shouldn't be too much out of pocket. I also took a fair bit of my maternity leave before DTs arrived, whereas I think I'll work as close to this one arriving as possible, provided we're all well.

Lovely scan picture hannah!

Catching up and it's so lovely to see all the scan photos :)

babydreaming my friend was an a&e nurse during her pregnancy and got a note from her gp to say she couldn't work nights. I think that's quite reasonable really.

My bump is a definite bump now at 14 weeks. Made more obvious by the weight gain. Since yesterday I've also felt movements if I lie still.

On the not so great side, I have pretty constant pins and needles in both hands, and nausea in the afternoons still. In France, and I'm having to be really strict about smelly cheeses being triple wrapped! I did have a sneaky glass of rosé at lunch which was amazing.

KitKat1985 · 08/06/2016 14:19

Hi all!

Lovely to see so many scan pictures and to catch up on all of your posts. Smile The list update above will probably not be updated for a little while as I'm off to Spain tomorrow for a week (can't wait!) and I won't have my laptop with me. Will do an update when I get back though but just wanted to warn people (for want of a better word) that I'm not ignoring any posts with updated due dates etc.

It's also my wedding anniversary today and my lovely Mum and Dad have given me and DH a little bit of money so we can treat ourselves to a takeaway tonight once toddler-KitKat is asleep. Bliss! At the moment I'm thinking tikka masala, garlic naan, special fried rice and poppadoms. Grin Shock
