Bump!

December 2016 babies... 2nd trimester in sight
firawla · 08/06/2016 14:54

kitkat enjoy the holiday! And happy wedding anniversary!

I will have to try that 4head stick, I get really bad headaches - did before pregnancy too though!

I'm self employed so no mat pay or anything for me. I will definitely take time off though, not that my work is particularly intensive but especially if this does end up being our last baby (being dc4 it's fairly likely) I want to spend time enjoying the baby days and not juggling with work - as much as poss.

SteffiMuse · 08/06/2016 15:26

I work in the NHS. Anyone aware of what mat pay is?

Bigfam · 08/06/2016 16:34

Happy anniversary KitKat and hope your holiday is amazing, also thanks for updating the list. You're so organised Star
Eskerina81 my hayfever is awful today as well, at one point on the way home from school I thought I was going to stop breathing from sneezing so many times in a row Shock

Brisgirl · 08/06/2016 16:40

Hi all, another one checking in after scan today! 13+3 so due date now 11 December. Baby was so still and good for measurements and then started 'drinking' loads - lots of big gulps which was really sweet and funny to watch.

So exciting to see all these pictures - we're well on our way now and all feeling very real.

Love seeing all these lovely scan photos, I'll be 12+5 on Friday and I can't wait to see if little bean is A OK!

Looseyloo411 · 08/06/2016 17:38

Had my scan today! All fine and been moved to 17th December, yay! Baby wasn't very cooperative but got a few photos... This ones like a crab Grin

Theaks · 08/06/2016 18:07

That's a different view point loosey

I'm jealous of people feeling movements. I'm 15.2 with first (well 3rd but 2 lost) and can't feel a thing. Although I read that first pregnancy don't tend to feel until much later. I'm really wanting to feel something

romoca · 08/06/2016 18:34

Loosey, love bubbas crap pose!! Awesome!!! Thought I felt movements in the night as I lay on my back.... Or maybe I dreamt it??!! Xx

SouthDownsSunshine · 08/06/2016 18:55

theaks I didn't feel anything until 24 weeks with dd. It depends on where the placenta is, and you definitely feel with subsequent pregnancies.

I'm really suffering with hayfever on holiday, our cottage is in a really rural area. I've had to get a nasal spray and eye drops. I also took a loratadine (after seeking advice from a gp) as it was so bad. The potential very low risk from loratadine vs being able to breathe made it an easy decision! I'm hoping I can do without back home, we live by the sea so the pollen is lower.

barkingtreefrog · 08/06/2016 18:56

loosey that's amazing, you can see all the fingers!!

Theaks I keep being told I probably won't feel until after 20 weeks. So long to wait for some reassurance that everything is okay! must stop obsessively googling miscarriages in second trimester

barkingtreefrog · 08/06/2016 18:57

Xpost sunshine I've also got hayfever, it's slowly getting worse which is probably coinciding with me weaning off the steroids. I used to have the steroid injection each year which was amazing, but they stopped letting me have it a few years back Sad.

Nojo82 · 08/06/2016 19:20

Is it December yet.. having a horrible day. Aso much as I love pregnancy (after sickness) I'm hating this!!

Azure83 · 08/06/2016 19:50

So many lovely photos! We got our Harmony results back today - all low risk and joining TEAM BLUE!

It was bound to be a boy if the old wives tales are anything to go by.. No nausea or morning sickness and craving cheese, fish, pickles and everything in between!

firawla · 08/06/2016 20:00

Love the pic loosey so cool to have one from a unique angle like that!

Congrats on finding out team blue azure!

theaks I've not felt anything yet either. I think I was about 20 weeks with my first and not too many weeks earlier with my others (can't remember now!) - definitely looking forward to that bit

puppythedog · 08/06/2016 20:05

stefi how long have you worked for the NHS?

SteffiMuse · 08/06/2016 20:28

Puppy have worked there for three years now. And thanks for the link. You're a star SmileSmile

becciandbump · 08/06/2016 20:31

steffimuse I work in nhs too ive been told it's 8 weeks full pay, around 13 weeks half pay and the rest state maternity pay (may have got the 13 weeks wrong maybe a little longer but it's definitely 8 weeks full and it drops after that x

SteffiMuse · 08/06/2016 20:34

Oh lord that's rubbish. And as the main bread winner we are really going to struggle

SteffiMuse · 08/06/2016 20:36

Becci I'm going to be losing so much money. I think I'll have to go back to work after 8 weeks. I pay all the bills ATM. Oh my word

SolomanDaisy · 08/06/2016 20:46

I think when you're on half-pay it might be half-pay plus statutory maternity pay. Pretty sure that's how it worked when I had local government maternity leave anyway. I'm self-employed now, I won't be getting anything! Luckily we don't need my income, but I don't want to lose clients. I'm just going to wait and see what sort of baby we end up with. I work part-time from home, so if we get a napper I might be able to start doing a little bit after a few months.

SteffiMuse · 08/06/2016 20:51

Solomon it's so difficult. I earn double what partner earns so we'll be losing so much money. I guess people just manage though? Lots of cutbacks and such.

OrianaBanana · 08/06/2016 20:54

I'd get personalised advice from HR before making any decisions steffi - you never know. You can also get paid for unused holiday.

StubbleTurnips · 08/06/2016 21:00

Steffi a good friend of ours had her nhs maternity and stat mat spread over her whole time off rather than X weeks at Y. It helped her a lot.
