evening all!

phewee! it takes a good hour to catch up this thread! Not to mention checking out the other relevant threads that we start discussing!

Clarice - sorry you had such a rough time with dd and dh away. Big for you. You sound like your coping really well in a difficult situation. I think bigonion needs to take an international trip over to spain to deliver some comforting choc and sympathy to you!

HLM - enjoy your hair cut tomorrow! Lovely! Am trying to justify booking myself in for a facial. They are sooo expensive (and I could buy lots of baby stuff with the £30 it will cost) but my skin is such a mess. Spots everywhere.

CD - hope you are feeeling a bit better this evening. Tuck yourself up with a nice hot choc on the sofa with some crappy tv or something.

1b3 - hope your dh gets home ok. And that you get some understanding from him bout N. You really will need a bit of space after dts are born for you all to adjust to being a bigger family and you are going to be knackered with twins and don't need extra stress/work!

Well I had a lovely app with mw today. Not met this one before and she's the first who was reasonable about my home birth and talked to me about it without trying to scare me out of it! Baby was wriggling loads too and heartbeat was really strong, so left feeling very warm inside!

And got some beautiful new furniture sorted for baby's room! Have been looking for ages and finally got some lovely solid oak at really reasonable price from a local shop. Hurrah! Baby is already getting spoilt! Can't wait to start washing up baby clothes and folding them into the draws! Ahhh...

runnyhabbit · 19/01/2007 20:51

Hi everyone

So much to catch up on in such a short space of time

GMM - well said about the moses baskets

1b3 - its not being a bitch. Get dh to commit to when N's last day will be. In the mean time, lay down some ground rules with N. Even write them up if you have to! Does he do his own laundry etc..? If he doesn't, then maybe its about time he learnt how to use the washing machine! (I've done this with dh when I felt I'm being taken for granted. It soon works when he realise he's got no clean socks or pants )

Toilet v Ironing - Ironing wins. I find it quite theraputic

V tired so am going to have an early night, but really fancying some proper freshly squeezed orange juice, with all the bits in it. Any chance Big Onion can be sent to Bridgend?

Night all, and have a good weekend

xx

PS - only 6 weeks left in work!!!!

1becomes3 · 19/01/2007 20:53

Have just had a chat with Dh and he agree's with me that it is getting a bit much having N around.
So after next week he won't be staying with us.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted

1becomes3 · 19/01/2007 21:05

Right that is me done.
I'm off to spend some quality time with DH, while he is still awake.

Too Late.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

CaptainDippy · 19/01/2007 21:10

Yippee!! That is fab 1B3 - Good news - Good for you!

Still feeling and officially "on strike" - DH doing wahsing up. Needing a break.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 19/01/2007 21:30

Well done 1b3

Am waiting for an auction to finish on ebay - then off to bed - if don't win it am tempted to buy a new ellaroo soft pouch sling from little possums - the garden print one is lovely! Maybe could get my mum to buy it - will email my dad the details!

I think some of us need some flowers to cheer us up! Sending flower vibes to all dps/dhs etc

CaptainDippy · 19/01/2007 21:41

DH bought me tulips the just the other day and it was lovely indeed - So I am going to have to wait at least another 8 months for my next "Flower Fix" unfortunately. Hoping all other DPs / DHs get "The Flower Vibe" though - I like getting flowers.

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 19/01/2007 21:42

Did you win the auction btw??

OP posts:
claricebean · 19/01/2007 21:47

1b3 - congrats on getting your house back.

Nice relaxing evening and am definitely feeling better. Thanks goodness it's the weekend.

CD - tulips, how lovely

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 19/01/2007 21:53

Finishes at 10.12pm!

Blimin hope you get some flowers from him in April! - I am also counting on some diamonds Have caught dh on Mallorys website - jewellers in Bath - don't think he has bought anything yet though...

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 19/01/2007 22:17

I won the huggababy for £20 which is cool - can go to bed now dreaming of slings!

Good night xoxoxoxox

doginsantasgrotto · 19/01/2007 22:20

goodness, off line for a few days and true to form, thread is enormous!

Just quickly to say that 1b3 - loved your scan! Amazing!

As for belly buttons ... mine is on the way to becoming an outie but cannot BEAR DH touching it. Makes my legs go funny too (whoever else said that!) Also have hairy tummy! Oh, the glamour!

Hope everyone has a fab weekend. I met up with a girl today from meet-a-mum on local netmums.com website. really nice girl who has 8wk old; she was totally smitten - so sweet. Made me want mine RIGHT NOW! Really helpful chatting to someone who has gone through it so recently and hadn't forgotten it all.

Must dash as has taken me ages to catch up and need to go and watch Big Brother (I know, I know!)

Night!

flumppootle · 20/01/2007 07:32

Morning

YEAH 1b3 !! Only days left until you can pee in peace.
Feeling any better CD ?
BBCK - sling sounds fab. Love cyber listening to you all nesting and purchasing for beans. Not much shiny new stuff here as have most of it already but absolutley love pram talk etc. Also have to confess to being another pramaholic
Clarice so pleased that your dds came home happy and things have blown over now, mine came home in a vile mood yesterday. Calm peaceful and restful weekends all round I think
I changed my name from Hollyhormone, so am due on 23rd with another blue one, what about you? I dont know about you but I am starting to worry about the reality of having 4 dcs

I think that there was a meet up today?? Enjoy and we would love some photos of mums and bumps, have a fab time.

muminabigtumi · 20/01/2007 07:59

Hi everyone!

Dippy - hope you are feeling a bit brighter this morning love sends virtual bunch of daffodils to go nicely with tulips

I love flowers too - DH never ever buys them, but have still got my beautiful bouquet that my Dad got me for my anniversary although they are starting to wilt now.

1b3 - really glad for you that you have got a resolution to the N situation - must be extremley stressful for you and you REALLY need tolook after yourself even more with two little ones in that tum!

Maveta - I want your life - sounds so wonderful...cooking sausages in the village and listening to bands - hope you enjoyed your Saints evening.

Dogin - glad you had a nice meet up with the new mum, when we go on mat leave we will have to try and meet up and have mini meet up of us MW/Cheshire ladies.

Also 1b3 - I would be really upset if anyone felt that they couldn't be in our Post Natal thread for any reason. It doesn't matter to me when your baby comes - we have all come this far together - I would be so sad if anyone left us!

I had a lazy afternoon at work for a change, normally I am so busy but it was fairly quiet and my collegues have really started to be so kind, I'm not allowed to do any filing (bending up and down all the time) not allowed to carry a tray full of brews etc. I have resisted being treated with kid gloves up till now but I am starting to "feel it" more now so it was quite welcome!

Went out for a really nice meal last night with the girls from work, my Mum came too as she used to be the cleaner at the surgery and so knows everyone I work with. Everyone was saying how well me and my Mum got on which was nice. We didn't use to and I really feel that having James has brought us closer together and we really get on now.

I could have kissed our Nurse who told me "I wish I had looked half as glamourous as you when I was pregnant - you look fantastic". I was so chuffed! Made up for the bloody Health Visitor going on about how big I was getting....even our Practice Manager couldn't beleive how tactless she is!

Really looking forward to today actually. I am meeting my friend at lunch time and we are going for some lunch and to the cinema. ON OUR OWN!!! NO KIDS OR HUSBANDS!!
We are going in the afternoon as Jane is still breastfeeding and her baby feeds most in evening....just can't wait tohave some girlie conversation and it is Months since I have seen anything at the cinema....so many films we want tosee that we can't decide what to go for!!

On a more annoying note...as I was going out last night we got a phonecall from my BIL (BAckground..he and wife are sperated less than a year, she left him suddenly for another man she had known for 2 weeks when she started a new job after maternity leave. They share custody of my niece. All very acrimonious, ex SIL is a monster and tries to make things difficult at every turn)

BIL gets his daughter each Friday night for the weekend (so she can go gadding about with new fella GRRR)anyway - he went to get her from nursery last night to be told that she wasn't there as Lottie had a fit at nursery on Thursday and has been in hospital.
BIL rings ex who tells him she would bring her round tomorrow and put the phone down and now won't answer our calls......
BIL is frantic with worry and we are so that she didn't even tell him.
I swear - no matter what happened between me and Phil I hope to god that we would never use the kids like that to hurt each other. So we are all worried about niece although I am hoping it was just something like a Febrile Convulsion. No matter what though I feel BIL should have been informed asap....
sigh families eh!
Speak in a bit!
p.s J was up at 6.50 this morning - much better!!!

liath · 20/01/2007 08:51

Morning!

Well it's raining & howling gale AGAIN. Am running out of indoor things to do with dd. I've invited some friends over for lunch next weekend & miscalculated a bit - invited my 4 close girlfriends but then worked out that when you add in all of us, DHs and kids there'll be 17 people - whoops. So am going to spend today cooking the Worlds Biggest Lasagne.

MIABT - your poor BIL. That sounds totally out of order & I agree it's unforgivable for people to use their kids to get back at an ex like that.

1b3 - am so glad the N situation is going to resolve, the last thing you need is stress. I hate having long term visitors in my personal space, it's such an invasion of privacy.

Have a good weekend everyone!

muminabigtumi · 20/01/2007 08:58

Hi Laith

Weather is terrifying here also - howling a gale.....
How about bunging some lovley jackey potatos in te oven for a couple of hours instead. I then put beans in a disn, cottage cheese and pine apple in another, tuna mayo in another and empty a bag of salad into another and voila - nice healthy lunch for 4 lovley ladies in a matter of minutes effort. I love Lasagne but my god it's an arse to make!!

Have a good weekend too!
x

CaptainDippy · 20/01/2007 09:05

Morning, feeling vaguely better, still low though.

Need to go and get dressed - Mmmmmmm.....

MIABT - Hope you have a super fab time at the cinema today - Decided what you are goig to go and see yet?? and @ your SIL not telling your DB about Lottie being in hospital - that is disgusting!!!!!!! He must have been so worried and hurt and upset - Does he know how his little girl is yet?? I really hope she is ok - I hate to imagine what would happen if something more serious happened to her in the future. Goodness me!!

Someone mentioned bellybuttons - I HATE mine being touched anyway, but is 100 times worse when I am PG and the bit of tummy around my abdomen as well - Yeuch! At my last Antenatal appointment, the baby's heartbeat was right in my bellybutton and they had to press the doppler in REALLY hard to pick it up - It was HORRID!!!!

Anyway, shower calls ......

PS. I REALLY want to go to the SE Meet Up; but I really not sure whether I'll be able to go - I can afford the extortionate train fare or the meal; but not both. Bloody mortgages. Bloody moving house. Bloody single income. Bloody bills.

Humph!

claricebean · 20/01/2007 09:16

Hi everyone,

Glad you're feeling a bit better CD.

Well, just when I thought I was at my limit of coping................. DD2 has chicken pox!!!!!!!!! We were with someone with it in the UK just after New Year, but I had thought we were going to miss it. Oh joy. Maybe that's why she was so difficult yesterday, .

Flump - so is that 2 DDs followed by 2 DSs for you? That's lovely for your kids. I feel a bit sorry for my DS that he will have 3 sisters. But am really looking forward to a pink bundle for me, IYSWIM. It's been a while since I saw those cute pink clothes on a babe. Yes, the reality is slowly kicking in about having four - WHAT WAS I THINKING?????? At least DH will be home all the time. Hopefully everything will seem easy after this ordeal - LOL.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 20/01/2007 09:25

Righty ho - can someone remind me where/how to do the photo link thing!

Claricebean - oh no! I am secretly hoping ds2 will get chickenpox before baby arrives! Mind if we pop pver to Spain for a few days???!!! Could do with some sun

claricebean · 20/01/2007 10:06

BBCFK, oh yes you´re more than welcome. mid 20s sunshine and blue sky. plus spots a go go.

muminabigtumi · 20/01/2007 10:08

Claricebean - oh no!!! Poor little one...hope it's not all too traumatic hug

CD - we still don't know about Lottie and yes he and we are all worried sick.

I am so fed up......my friend just cancelled on me . She can't help it, her little one is poorly but I was so looking forward to it - and now I am so disappointed I could cry.....

I have just arranged to meet up with another friend at 3pm so at least am still going out - but it will be soft play hell and snatched conversation....not exactly the nice stress free day I had in mind. BOO HOO....never mind we will do it eventually, just a nightmare as have to fit it round her DH's football commitments.

Right...going to wake Phil up as he is still in bed and I am now throughly F*d off as I have had so little sleep this week.

Roller coaster emotions eh - up one min and then down the next.....

Morning girls,

Ib3, glad you spoke to your dh and hope it all gets sorted once and for all soon.

MIAM - that is terrible re. your niece/BIL and I agree that it´s quite shocking, and really sad, that things can degenerate so much for people to use their kids against each other.

I´m also starting to gladly give in more to people´s offers of help when before I resisted, and I don´t feel bad about it at all

Last night was good, it´s quite a big night out here and the music and bands are almost secondary to the fact that you are guaranteed to meet everyone you know and their wife while walking around. Downside is that we didn´t get home til 3am and the whole time we were out was on the street/ sitting on a curb if I needed a rest so by then I was pretty cold and my back was starting to hurt quite a lot. Felt really pretty crappy by the time I got home and slept straight through to 11am this morning which is quite unusual for me. Am having tea in bed right now and considering sleeping a bit longer. All my muscles feel like I´ve been out dancing all night!

Am very excited because my big sis is coming out with bil today for a couple of nights. Can´t wait to see her, she´s absolutely one of my best friends and the person who makes me laugh most in the world - Can you tell I´m excited??

maveta · 20/01/2007 10:39

Quick poll to you more experienced mums out there--

If I have a moses basket, which I do, do you still think bedside cots are worth it? I like the idea of them but so far have not been as impressed with the look of them as with normal cots.

This decision re. cots is taking me FOREVER. Not helped by the fact that I am doing it by internet so I can´t see them, touch them in real life to see if I really like them.

I just can´t decide!!!

weeonion · 20/01/2007 11:00

wayhey - goo dmonring folks it has taken me nearly an hour to read the post from yesterday alone! i love it - feels like a real girly gossip. i have been good and taken notes so here goes!

GMM - u mak me laf hun, go grl grl go. (haha - text speak just for you!) its hard not to get sucked in to all of this. i recenly ended up sending stuff through our freeshare to a new mum - i felt sorry at her situation. it was a loely sleeping bag that a pal gave me frm aussieland. doing a search on ebay few days later - and there it was for sale with a reserve of £10. bloody cheek! we gotta get that day at the spa arrnaged - and where did you get yr whale music.??

CD - hope u r feeling better.

pesha - u get yr bed sorted for yr dd? poor her. if she cant get the bed she wate - maybe really nice duvet instead?

1B3 - glad it got sorted with yr nephew. 20 sounds as if he should have a bit more tact himself. having visitors can be lovely but the place aint yr own. i think u have the pateince of a saint. xo loved yr wheelspins in the loo commnet even tho it took me a while to work out what you meant
MIABT - hope u had a lovely day out with yr pal. what did you go and see at the flicks? bigonion apologises - he took a wrong turning. couldnt see the road signs with the ironing board tied under his neck!

sopl- did u get yr boiler fixed or is it another night with hot water bottles?

HLM - go on - post us a pic of yr new hairstyle??

maveta - good news on the blood tests. did u have a lovely all saints night?

liatn - good morning to you. is the sun shining over in the east?? coudl u repost yr email - i lost it in teh other thread and wanted to meet up for a coffee and lasagne recipe?

dooby - i forgot u were booked in for the 4th april. maybe u will be the first of us to go??

ok - sorry if i missed anyone out - well i know i have, clarice, yvie, eca and hensden so sorry........

went to physio yesterday. left with a very attractive hip belt which i have to wear on anything over a 10minute walk. all the time then?? not sexy, not glam but hey - it coud catch on. got told off for not doing my tummy exercises - so c'mon gals. confess - how many of you are ding them along with our Pelvic floor and leg ones???
Saw teh AND unit as well - dp came with me. he looked like a startled rabbit as the doc told him all teh stuff about AND and how it really affects me. dp kept saying he hadnt realised as i kinda independant and keep worries / fears inside.
when i got home after work at 11pm - he had a lovely dinner for me and a mushy lovenote
wee sis has arrive to visit-love her dearly but find it a bit freaky when i see all my gestures, body langauage and comments in her. she had a lovely time drinking polsih beer in our fav bar withdp while i was working she got to feel bump move / kick last night.

i rany my local council to see if they had a voucher scheme for real nappies. the guy on teh phone was confused and did tell me that he didnt think it was possible to wash and reuse pampers. made me laugh like a drain.

i think that is me for now. i am off to get bigonion sorted for the day. sorry if he doesnt make it round you all - the dog is in demand. does a nice line in baby showers if anyone is interested????

psssssssssssst -on a very personal note. does anyones wee smell different these days??
