Don't worry parsnip I think I will be right with you until the end!! Maybe we will have June babies!

2nd attempt at a sweep today, cervix is still closed and high so couldn't be done again! So frustrated!

ODog · 16/05/2016 18:15

So after having a pessary put in at 10.30am ish DD arrived at 2.52pm. 8lb 11oz and not really stopped feeding from 10mins old. They are just prepping the paperwork and we should be on our way home.

Everythinggettingbigger · 16/05/2016 18:38

Fantastic ODog sounds like things must have gone well....and quick! Congratulations xx

Congratulations odog Hope all goes well for you.

GunShotResidue · 16/05/2016 21:06

Congratulations Odog!

How many of us are still waiting? Seems to have been quite a few born recently!

Pikz · 16/05/2016 21:47

Congratulations Odog sounds like all went well and very quickly!

Outnumb3red · 16/05/2016 22:00

I'm still waiting. I'm 38+4 today. Have a uni exam tomorrow. So I'm happy to wait till I've got that done! I've to see the consultant on 23/05 to be assessed for induction. My 2nd baby was born in the car (labour was 90mins) and I'm a bit paranoid incase this labour is quicker. Hosp is minimum of 30 mins from me and that's with no traffic. Time increases significantly if I was heading there during busy traffic times.

Not yet 100% sure I want to be induced. Was induced with my first and it wasn't great, but at same time I'd rather be in the hospital. Need to try weigh it up as there isn't going to be a perfect solution

ParsnipSoup · 16/05/2016 22:18

Congratulations ODog, obviously your little one was keen to meet you! Enjoy your first night home together. I can't imagine many people get induced, have a baby and head home all within 12 hours!

Everything I hope I don't have to wait until June (but it might happen). I'm happy to wait until my birthday (28th), but then this baby needs to come out!!

Good luck in your exam tomorrow outnumb3red

Looked in the full length mirror today and since I last had a proper look at my tummy (a couple of days at most), I've gone from one tiny stretch mark on my hip to completely stripy on the entire underside of my bump. If I have to wait much longer I imagine I'll just turn into a giant stretchmark.

notsoold · 16/05/2016 23:42

Odog congratulations!!!! Enjoy the awesomeness of your new born!!!

Still waiting here. CS is booked for Friday. Tonight I finally bought the pushchair so we are kind of ready.... it took forever to decide which model for us because we have a car with a funny boot.

ODog · 17/05/2016 05:06

Thanks everyone. We got home just before 7pm and DS was equal parts freaked out and interested. Poor DD had to hold all his toys!

Good first night. Didn't even try Moses basket as it didn't seem right and she latched and fed at will but think we got a 3/4hr stretch which was unheard of for weeks with DS.

outnumbered - part of the criteria to go home after induction was that you live within 30mins of the hospital. Good job as it took us 20mibs to drive back and she was born 12mins after arriving according to notes so they have recorded it as a 12min labour Shock. DS was about 5hrs after arriving at hospital.

Will post full birth story later, but it was quick, intense and very natural.

ODog · 17/05/2016 05:07

No news from frozen? Hope things are moving for you...

Pikz · 17/05/2016 06:44

Came in to check on frozen. Hope you are ok

O dog that is amaZing!

ODog · 17/05/2016 07:04

Birth story for those that are interested:

Left hospital after pessary with a few cramps. Went to get ds from my mums so she could go to work. Luckily she stayed for lunch as after that things quickly got more painful. Rang labour ward who were like...hmm that's quite quick, come in and we'll see what's happening. Started pushing in the car. Dh abandoned the car in the drop off bay and I had to be picked up by a midwife in a wheelchair. Got in the room and begged for all the drugs. Still pushing without direction and she popped out as the pethidine arrived so only had gas and air (which does nothing in labour but lovely for stitches!).

TristanlovesIsolde · 17/05/2016 08:25

That was quick odog! My first labour was 3 days (following a sweep). Hoping this one is quicker. No signs of anything yet but still only 39+6. DM arrives tomorrow (we live overseas) so at least we know childcare is here when everything kicks off. Also looking forward to the help round the house.

GunShotResidue · 17/05/2016 08:31

Wow, ODog, that sounds fast! Glad you had a good first night.

Hoping frozen is OK.

Planning a lazy morning, then lots of cleaning and sorting this afternoon. Hopefully it will be sunny and DD can spend the afternoon in the garden.

ODog · 17/05/2016 16:25

No word from frozen. Hopefully that's good news....

Icecappedpinetrees · 17/05/2016 17:20

Sounds very similar to me ODog!

Massive congratulations to you. Flowers

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 18/05/2016 09:38

Morning all!!
We had a newborn party last night, awake from 1 till about 3.30, she wouldn't settle or feedand was crying loudly on and off before eventually settling after a nappy change and feed when we went back to sleep at last, then we woke up again for a mini feed about 6 and awake finally at 8.
DP is still on paternity leave until the end of this week so our pattern in the mornings has been that he makes us coffee then does his yoga practice downstairs for 90mins while I hold the baby - AIBU for thinking that once he goes back to work my days might be a little bit easier? He is into doing stuff during the day so I haven't been resting enough, and though he absolutely ADORES little one to distraction he doesn't necessarily think to hold her during the day, so it won't be much different when I'm solo with her - or am I being crazy?! Not that I'm trying to get rid of him or anything, obviously....!
Anyway his parents arrive this evening for a few days, so wish me luck with that and the French baby advice that's about to come my way....

DH is a teacher and I always find things harder when he is on school holidays. I can't tell you why but everything takes longer, the house is messier etc. you will get into your own rhythm once you and LO are on your own.

DD managed to bring in my milk in a record 36hrs last night. She has fed and slept brilliantly since though.

She also has her first experience of toddler group this morning. It's only a 2 min walk from our house and DS was claiming the walls so we went for an hour. Everyone was excited to see her and give her a cuddle! The toddlers were particularly screamy today though I was a bit worried about her poor little ears.

GunShotResidue · 18/05/2016 12:42

Good luck cant!

DH is very good, but I do find it much easier to stick to a routine when he's at work.

That sounds lovely ODog, I can't wait to go to some toddler groups.

notsoold · 18/05/2016 13:29

Odog my dh is a teacher and I find myself thinking the same as you....
Going into hospital tomorrow evening and cs on Friday😊😊😊😊😊

Everythinggettingbigger · 18/05/2016 14:03

Is there many of us still pregnant? Lol

39+1 today and although I keep having lots of aches and pains they aren't mounting to anything!

With you all on the DP being at home, he definitely gets in the way Blush

I was 5 days over with my first so really wondering when this one will make an appearance....when did everyone have their firsts and when did your second come in comparison?

GrouchyKiwi · 18/05/2016 14:10

I'm still pregnant. Also 39+1 (or +3, depending on who you believe).

My first and second came on their due dates (well, my dates, both of them 2 days after the scan date). Hopeful this one does too, at the latest.

TristanlovesIsolde · 18/05/2016 14:16

I'm still here everything. Due date today. No sign of anything happening but seem to have a short fuse especially with DH. DS seems to have decided that he no longer needs an afternoon nap. Managed to get him to sleep with a cuddle yesterday but he's taking about 1.5hrs to go to sleep at bedtime this past week. Coupled with eczema flare up and him waking up itchy feeling a bit dazed today. He's now lying on the bed with me watching Netflix. Thank God for nursery in the mornings.

How are others managing with toddlers and new borns?
