This must be our 100th thread.

Possibly.

laidback was it sore getting your eyebrows done? I was attacking mine with the tweezers yesterday (ouch) anyone tried 'threading'?
My lady garden can just about be reached with the razor...anyone been waxed? It sounds like agony to me.....

Leoladyofleisure · 26/01/2007 09:23

we still have loads of snow here and more is on its way ! I'm going ot pick ds up from nursery with the sledge today!

Shanks, I'm also feeling nauseous on and off, I think its just the pressure on the stomach from the babies pushing up. Worse is the heartburn though, I never had it with ds.
About the cot, are you sure you can't put the base in different positions so when the baby is tiny the base is higher up so its easy to lift the baby out? The best bed we have found is the one from Ikea where you can raise the base for the baby and when the child is older take the sides off so it can be used as a child bed. They are not so expensive and i think you get more years out of them than a bed that can just be used as a cot. Cots are something that are usually quite easy to pick up second hand, then you just need to get a new matress. And don't believe it when you are told that a cot can be used up to 3 or 4 years old (the ikea cot that turns into a bed you can), but the standard size cots I think are good for 2 - 21/2 years. But worse, if it is big enough then DS isn't quite 2 and has been out of his for quite a while as he is very capable of climbing out of it which is dangerous.

Lady garden... I like mine to be well groomed, dh already had to do it for me last time and its definitely due some more attention!

Hello everyone else !

sexkittyinwaiting · 26/01/2007 09:29

Shanks, I've never had a cot with drop sides. My current baby is obviously still in one and she is very heavy for her 13 months. I can still lift her in and out of it even with big belly so honestly, don't get a new cot just for the sake of drop sides, you really don't need them. Spend that money on something else.

I can't really see my ladygarden but I'm sure it is very over grown, ho hum.

3rdTriMossTer · 26/01/2007 09:55

Lunar thanks for that I've taken a paracetamol and swished the affected area with salt water, feel a bit better. Kitty I'm going to see how I go over the weekend and then call a few NHS dentists if I feel any worse, to register with one of them.

Shanks I feel nauseous on and off, tends to be linked with lack of sleep (i.e. the less I sleep, the more nauseous I feel). But so far I've managed to avoid the awful vomiting that I had in the first trimester.

As for the ol' lady garden Rosy... Immac, or Veet as I think it's called now, does me a treat!

eidsvold · 26/01/2007 09:57

slight hijack

my two gorgeous dds - but then I am biased

AmieR · 26/01/2007 09:58

We have bought a cot bed with drop sides, but its still in its box at the moment!

Anyone due early MArch like me, still feeling movement, about 10 a day? Yesterday I didn't feel one.. and a few Midwife appointments back, she asked me to notify hopsital if I didn't feel 10, but I've read that from about now 35 weeks, LO won't move so much, should I still be feeling 10... should I contact the hospital?

eidsvold · 26/01/2007 10:01

try some cold orange juice or ice or something like that - usually gets lo wiggling about for me.

eidsvold · 26/01/2007 10:02

then if you are worried by all means contact them.

MrsJ · 26/01/2007 10:06

hi sorry to butt in, Im due in february but have been put on a kick chart under the hospital consultant but have been told very strictly (but thats for reasons as to why i've been put on the chart in the first place obviously lol) that if i didn't feel 10 movements in 12 hours to call the hospital and I am now nearly 38 weeks.
I'd give them a call just for reassurance, i've done this a couple of times and they always have time and never seem to mind.

Sorry again to just pop in but thought it might help.
Sure all is fine, take care xxx

Rosylily · 26/01/2007 10:11

eidsvold they are gorgeous!

Amie are you moving around alot yourself? I always think that sends them to sleep. But yeah, the mw won't mind you checking in for reassurance.

AmieR · 26/01/2007 10:18

Thank you everyone, I am sat here with cold Juice now..

8 hours of the day I'm sat in my chair at my desk, last night did do aquanatal class, but hadn't felt anything before that.

Will see if juice wakes them, if not will call them.

Thanks again.

LunarSea · 26/01/2007 10:19

Amie - chocolate always wakes mine up! Good to see you last night by the way.

AmieR · 26/01/2007 10:43

Lunar - good to see you too! You had much better woggle control than me!
Called Hopsital... got to go in to be monitored

Booboobedoo · 26/01/2007 10:58

Good luck Amie! Sure everything will be fine .

As for the ladygarden question: I'm with Mossy on the Veet cream. Painless. I'm not going to bother until my contractions start though. The thought of some student midwife coming at me with a blunt bic for a dry shave... . Think the regrowth would be more uncomfortable than the scar! Fingers crossed I won't need a caesarian, but you never know.

Congratulations on your new baby Lizzzombie!

None of yesterday's leads came to anything, so I'm resorting to more ads today. Equity website etc. Am stressed, but not as stressed as I should be. I suppose it's all those lovely endorphins.

Eidsvold: your DDs are gorgeous. I can see it must be much harder work being pregnant when you're already a Mum, but I do get jealous of you lot who've already got kids to cuddle. I have to make do with other people's at school. Not long now though!

Had an antenatal appointment with the GP this morning. I'm measuring right for dates, and he's the right way up. Not engaged yet, but that's ok. I'll have a bit of bladder control for a while longer. Got told off for not having my 28 week blood test . Life just gets in the way...

Hope you get on ok at the hospital Amie - keep us updated. Moss - get down that dentist ! You will need to take your little one there in the next couple of years so it will be good practice ! [wink}

sexkittyinwaiting · 26/01/2007 11:28

Aime, I'm sure everything will be fine. baby probably did move but you were too busy to notice.
My little chap has been kicking and punching alot this last week, to the point where he makes me feel quick sick with all the gut kicks I get. He hates me sleepping on my side so I have to do a semi on my back position, supported by my lovely v pillow.

divastrop · 26/01/2007 11:37

havent had time to read everything yet cos ive got mw appt at 12.

shanks-just wondered,is the side of the cot digging into your tummy cos of the bump?im having trouble getting dd2 in and out of her drop-side cot atm with my bump getting in the way, just thought i'd mention it.

i will catch up when i get back.if i get back as im approaching the 34 week mark where my bp has been naughty in the last 3 pregs...i am calm and relaxed...i am calm and relaxed....

bethoo · 26/01/2007 11:51

when do you invest in nursing bras as i have not got any yet as i thought you would have to wait for the milk to come! i still have no idea!
sazzybee - lol, i know what you mean about the blokes who have a thing about not shagging a pregnant bird before! i have a male friend who is always gong on about it, would not be a problem if not for the fact i find him physically repulsive and could not bring myself to be intimate with him no matter how desperate i am for sex! i had some attention at the gym but he may have felt sorry for waddling gym lady! though after at the kebab van i was chatted up (talking about our dogs!) but i had my coat on which hides bump quite well so he may have had a shock had i invoted him round!
Laidback - i attempt every now and then to tackly my ladygarden but since i cannot see it i think it probably looks like it has alopecia!
Mossy - i too have not been to dentist in years and fear this pregnancy has made them quite in need of attention esp as i crave coke (the liquid kind!)
AmieR - witch lady is evil! i hope you have good comebacks for her! i am due 1/2 March so i too am an early one! 35 weeks today in fact! i hope all goes well with hospital. i know babies sleep majority of time in this trimester but you should still feel protrusions etc of elbows and knees reminding you they are there! i find coke wakes them up, no doubt i will have a hyperactive child the amount of caffeine i have consumed! only thing about craving it is i cant sleep!
still getting cramps in lower abdomen and hope not ging into prem labour!
35 weeks today and still no cot or pram though i am known for leaving everything last minute and poor admin! just like the huge amount of filing on my desk right now!!!

hertsnessex · 26/01/2007 11:54

Morocco,

have you tried doula.org.uk. i'm not sure where you are, but sometimes there are doulas available quite late on.

Cx

shanks313 · 26/01/2007 12:30

Hi everyone

The cot bed does have 3 different bases and er put it on the top one.I tried lifting out a teddy from it and found it uncomfortable for me.
The bars went into my tummy,I dont know if that is because of baby bump or not but Im more worried about my back as I already get occasional back ache.
Its not so much a problem while baby is small but Im thinking more of when baby is heavier and the base has to be lower

sazzybee · 26/01/2007 12:36

bethoo - I'm going to get my nursing bras today as a couple of people have said their boobs don't grow much in the last few weeks and I just don't think I'm going to be able to get behind the wheel of a car for much longer

Mine have stayed the same size. I'm going to mothercare and get measured - I'll let you know what they say

I'm going to Matalan too to get something to wear during labour. I hadn't even thought about the ladygarden! I think I've got some veet kicking around in the back of the cupboard but I'm bound to make a right mess - can't see what I'm doing!

sazzybee · 26/01/2007 13:20

I meant my boobs have stayed the same size for ages!

Oh and I've felt nauseous on and off for the last few weeks and have been sick once. Nowhere near as bad as MS in the 1st trimester though so it's not bothering me too much

sexkittyinwaiting · 26/01/2007 14:35

Eidsvold, you girls are lovely

AmieR · 26/01/2007 15:18

well.. I've got one snoooozy baby... Midwife was explaining about 20 mins sleep pattern which LO looked like was going to abide with but nope... I was on the monitor for 2 hours and nothing. Least I had evidence its in the genes as DH feel asleep in the chair next to me!

Heart graph was fine and had uterus tightenings which I couldn't feel but the montior picked up.

BUT... they're now concerned about its growth... and my placenta still providing enough nutrients, so I've got to go back next Tuesday for more monitoring and a scan.

So I've gone from measuring big to being worried about its size!

but my BP was best its been in ages.

LunarSea · 26/01/2007 16:04

At least you get to see him/her again if you're getting another scan. I'm sure it will all be fine and they're just being very cautious.
