LOL, I think maybe the lack of sleep is making me over sensitive today or people are just being complete asshats!

The annoying witch lady, who I kid you not is sat with the heaters all on and is wearing a scarf inside at this moment made some flapjacks kindly.

Then says, "I make them to be so naughty with loads of sugar and that in, just cause I can eat them all and I won't put any weight on! I bet you're all jealous" then looks at me "You better not have one as you don't want to put any more weight on do you?"

Sazzy - I have bras both from M&S and Mothercare and actually at the moment prefer the mothercare ones.

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 13:38

Yankee - I had contact with chickenpox when PG with DD (some of DS's class had it). Its not dangerous after the first three months I think.

The best nursing bras I bouf=ght have been from the NCT "bra seller". They were great and very confy. I used Bravado for DS and kept getting mastitis so went to the NCT second time. The seller measured me and everything, (in her living room) she was great.

sazzybee · 25/01/2007 13:43

Amie - I would kill anyone who said something like that to me. Well perhaps not kill but I'm gobsmacked by anyone who comments on size during pregnancy - it makes me furious.

Thanks for the tip re mothercare - I have £20 worth of vouchers so I can splurge on a few lovely nursing bras

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 14:16

Aime - something tells me the old witch is jealous of you

A catty remark like that means she feels insecure about the fact that she's old and ugly!!

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 14:17

My male calleague (who is lovely BTW) just left five bars of cadbury's chocolate on my desk for me!!

I said, "just as well my husband like's me fat isn't it?"

AmieR · 25/01/2007 14:30

Fox - can I come and work with you?

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 15:43

I've just sent an e-mail to the arse face who is squatting in my team's desk, saying "please ensure the desk is vacated by 7 Feb, as new person is starting. And please ensure you replace the telephone you removed without persmission"

What the reckoing he's going to be difficult about it?

Aime - not all the men here are nice. Only about 99% are (not fanciable though)

sexkittyinwaiting · 25/01/2007 15:46

That's good foxy
I was just chatting to the dad of one of ds1's friend's and I asked him how his film was going as I knew he was writing this screen play. He said tht it was all going to plan and that Colin Firth was playing the lead and he'd just been on the phone to him and he and his wife had had dinner with him recently. Apparantly he now has one year old twin boys with his beautful Italian wife . I might have to dump him now, the two timing so and so. Anyway the dad promised to send him my love

sexkittyinwaiting · 25/01/2007 15:47

Apparantly he is also very, very nice but says that Bill Murray is a bleep bleep barsteward!!!!

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 15:53

phwoooaaaar to Colin Firth Kitty!!

can't you arrange for him to attend our summer meet up?

please ?

...I'll even bribe you, and pay you in chocolate?

sexkittyinwaiting · 25/01/2007 16:15

Foxy I'll try my very best. I like milky bars and wholenut

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 16:25

Have just been really arsey with BT Broadband and got them to agree the following package, after I threatened to switch to Tiscali:

6 months at £15.95 (to include line rental, unlimited broadband 8mb, free calls to landline numbers 24/7)

12 months same package at £33.94

Its amazing what a formal complaint can do

BTW Please don't tell me that that is actually not a very good deal!!

divastrop · 25/01/2007 16:45

if colin firth is going to be there i'll send my mum in my place

yankee-my ds and dd1 had chicken pox when i was 8 months preg with ds2,and ds2 had it when i was 16 weeks with dd2!i had it when i was 5 and never got it again.i think its more dangerous if you catch it toward the end of pregnancy(as in you have it when you give birth)as well as in the first 3 months.but its very very rare to get it again.i admit i was a bit worried when expecting ds2 with it being so near my due date but the midwife and doctor said i had nothing to worry about as i'd already had it.

divastrop · 25/01/2007 16:51

fox-when i had the bt option with free calls it was £14-something a month and my 8mb tiscali broadband is £17.99 a month...the first 6 months sound like a good deal

you have just reminded me that i never complained about my line being down for 5 days last month

eidsvold · 25/01/2007 21:50

c-sections:

from memory - spinal block did not take that long and nor did waiting for it to take properly.

From starting to cut to baby being out - 4 mins

stitching up - about 30 - 40 mins....

I did not get to cuddle dd1 - she was whisked away to icu due to her heart defect. Dh got a short cuddle and I got to see her.

Dd2 - I got to see her and had her within about five minutes - they took her off to check her out once I had seen her over the screen.

Do not feel a thing while they are stitching you. You can feel movement but no pain - it actually feels like rummaging or as one theatre nurse said - it feels like someone is doing the washing up in your stomach. BUT no pain.

Fed dd2 in recovery and was on the ward quite quickly.

I guess overall about an hour - so shorter than most labours but then I have never been in labour so I have nothing to compare it with.

Good to know my date as I can get care for the girls sorted and get organised myself. Eight weeks to go today!!

sexkittyinwaiting · 25/01/2007 21:55

It's exciting Eidsvold

Rosylily · 25/01/2007 22:22

Booboo I was wondering if the woman who was supposed to cover for you had got cold feet and would come on board on an even more temperory basis??(until she settles ) Would it be possible for two people to share the job? Anyway, good luck with finding a solution, must be very stressful for you.

I got lovely nursing bras in the sale in mothercare, really comfortable and pretty. 2 38bs and 2 40cs so i'm definately all back!

I am a bit drained after all the birthday shenanigans today, but dd was so happy and excited all day, she was lovely. dh has two pals coming round for a drink shortly and I want to go to bed and if they are noisy I'll be a right grump!

Amie - that woman she couldn't have been ruder if she tried!

LaidbackinEngland · 25/01/2007 22:26

Really excited that you have your date Eidsvold !! Not long to go for all of us now ! Bought some more maternity clothes yesterday in H and M on a whim.... not really sure why as only have 6 ish weeks to go... suppose I can sell them on ebay afterwards !!

Boo - In my "glass half full" world... I am sure you will find a maternity cover who is better than the one that let you down .... bloody annoying at this late stage though.

Had my eyebrows done today and the beautician was still working even though she is 38 weeks pregnant ! She told me I had a neat bump... so left there with neat eyebrows, neat bump and neat spring in my step !!

Anyone starting to groom their ladygardens in preparation for birth ? Hilarious thread about this topis a few months back !!

Lizzzombie · 25/01/2007 22:57

Hi - just gate crashing from Jan thread, I popped my LO out at the weekend & have to let everyone know that Tens machines really do work! I am a complete wuss & never thought it would make any difference, but I can't recommend them enough! Good luck everyone! x

shanks313 · 26/01/2007 00:54

Hi,

Is anyone else keep feeling nauseous or is it just me? Is it normal?

We had a dilemma wth the cot bed tonight.MIL gt it from her catalogue back in November and we only just built it tonight. It hasnt got any drop sides so whn I lean down it digs into my tummy.
So now DH has to try and explain it to his mum that Im not comfortable with it without upsetting her too much. Will probably still use it as a cot bed when the time comes.
So now we have to look for a new cot...thats faurly cheap.

3rdTriMossTer · 26/01/2007 05:54

Morning all,

Can't sleep this morning; I've quite bad toothache. Probably far too much chocolate (didn't stop me having chcolate for brekkie though!) Does anyone know what forms / documentation you need to get free dental treatment? Is it just that little card you use to get free prescriptions?

Having said that I've not been the Dentist since I was a student (last time it was free... nearly ten years ago) so I'm dreading what they'll find!!

I've been paid today! But no going out and buying lots of DVDs for me; I've so much baby stuff to buy it's ridiculous!

I don't want to be rude but I'm too exhausted to reply to everyone this morning... have read them all I promise but now I'm going to swill my mouth out with salty water and then have a strong coffee to try and wake up!!

sexkittyinwaiting · 26/01/2007 07:26

Mossy, you don't need any extra forms etc, you just tell them you're exempt and show the card if they ask, usually the belly is enough proof .

Dd2 has her big kidney scan today but the whole family is stricken with a revolting cold type bug, so I might have to cancel. It just makes us all really sleepy so I've got at least an extra 2 at home today.
Dp has got the man's version of the bug of course which makes him far more unwell than everyone else. I was relying on him to drive me to and from the hospital today.
yesterday evening when I was in the kitchen I could hear this plaintive cry of "sweets" coming from the sitting room. So I gave him a huge bag of mini eggs which I then took away again on going to bed as I told him all that sugar would make him hyper how many kids have I got again?

I dreamt of Rufus Sewell last night, [deep sigh] he was trying to have his wicked way with me.(I didn't fight him off btw )

LunarSea · 26/01/2007 08:00

Moss - you can take parecetamol for toothache. Better than nothing until you can get something done about it.

Rosylily · 26/01/2007 08:42

Lizzzombie I hate the tens machine!!! But I'm really glad it worked for you Congratulations on popping yours out, must check out your birth announcement.

Shanks I've been feeling nauseous though I've also had a bug so wasn't sure what the cause was.
The cot I have also has fixed sides but it starts off high up for a little baby so by the time its on the lower adjustment I didn't think I'd have difficulty lifting baby up. My last cot had the moveable side but it had broken and was useless and unfixable.
Someone mentioned a 'cardboard' crib that's in mothercare which I had spotted and looks really jolly for the beginning....?

Moss, happy baby shopping!

Rosylily · 26/01/2007 08:43

not baby shopping obviously, baby stuff shopping..
