ladies, there is now an October antenatal thread. You know what this means don't you? It means that we are nearly at the top of the old pregnancy conveyor belt, we have been pregnant for a long, long time and it's our turn soon !!!!

AmieR · 23/01/2007 19:17

kitty - that's a scary thought! LOL

TheBlonde · 23/01/2007 19:22

Kitty - Just looked at Tricotti they seem much less complicated

Foxy - I keep meaning to check out NCT sales but failing, there is another local one in Feb so I might check that out

CallieNewMum · 23/01/2007 19:31

sexkittyinwaiting · 23/01/2007 19:49

Ah, that's great news Callie, you must be so proud of him and how well he's doing. Does he smell gorgeous? I so love the smell of new babies, especially their heads.

Theblonde, I didn't find the tricotti a hassle at all, especially the one with just two bands, it couldn't be easier.

DollyPopsOut · 23/01/2007 20:21

Only a quick one from me as I am knackered and very emotional. My butt kicking was very satisfying as I stood my ground in the face of threats ("if you don't do XYZ then we'll make you teach til 39 weeks") but very exhausting. DD has been a bit challenging today and has made me a bit tearful as she had melt down again at bath time and I couldn't work out why. Am now feeling a bit weepy and so am off for a lie on the sofa.

Sazzy, I had polyhydramnios with DD and she was huge. I went to 42 weeks though but was carefully monitored. Hope you're ok - it was scary as I was VAST but all was well. Waters breaking was spectacular though.

Glad Jordi is doing well Callie - that's great news.

Hope to be back on top form tomorrow .

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 20:48

Well done Dolly for standing your ground at work - that's our girl!!

Perhaps DD could sense you were frazzled this evening and was "testing the boundaries"? I managed to lose it and shout at both DS and DD at bedtime

Kitty - its a nice thought isn't it; that we're nearly "graduates"!

Dolly - those NCT sales are brilliant - full of very middle class mums flogging very nice second hand clothes very cheap

Callie - wow - Jordi's first proper breast feed. You must be so proud Its onwards and up from here I hope [big hugs].

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 20:49

Ooops NCT bit was meant for TheBlonde

I'm tired too so off to sleepy land

eidsvold · 23/01/2007 21:19

had a quick scan - can sympathise fox- when I had dd2 the woman next to me was in for antenatal monitoring - the whole week I was there. She cried cause she wanted to be at home with her kids, fought with her partner on the phone and everytime I closed my eyes for a rest she would be fast asleep snoring her head off... Between her and dd2 I was so glad to get home and have some decent rest!!! Dd2 was a shock as dd1 never cried and dd2 came out crying and demanding from day one.

moss - Dd1 never had a dummy in fact when they tried to give her some crudely consturcted thing post cardiac surgery she just kept spitting it out. No2 has a dummy - god send. Due to dd1's needs I could not spend ages soothing her to sleep with the breast and so the dummy really helped. SHe only has it now for sleeping and that will be stopped soon.

I have a mothercare sling - see if I can find a link. like this Had it for both the dds.

Piffle · 23/01/2007 21:23

Callie great news about Jordi! He sounds like a little star.

Carpal tunnel anyone - I've only got it in my left hand/arm as have had the surgery for carapl tunnel on my right when I was 20.
Drives you mad!
arrghhh
last trimester niggles grrrr

divastrop · 23/01/2007 21:27

callie-sounds like hes doing great.

laidback-in that case i will tell you that the dream i had the night before the pg test one was that i caught dp giving his pc oral sex -ie tongue in the disc drive

kitty-october??is that possible.what month is it now??

i got a carrier for ds1 and hated it so i never bothered again.i cant get the baby in and out myself and i just dont feel 'safe' with them(in case i were to trip over or something).

shanks313 · 23/01/2007 21:55

Hi everyone

Today I had my 34 week scan and ante natal.

After the bad news of last time,we kinda had some good and bad this time.Baby is now weighing around 5lb so either she had a major growth spurt or the measurements last time were wrong.

The sonographer thinks this is because baby was practising breathing at the time. This morning I felt baby hiccuping for the first time, that was a really weird sensation.

Anyway....so then the songrapher told us that shes concerned because theres not as much fluid around baby as there should be and my placenta is lying a little low.So now I have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks.

Had another blood test to check my iron levels and had to fill out a birth plan with the midwife.

This afternoon we sort of packed my bag for the hospital and gave baby clothes to MIL to wash.As time is flying by and not long now till we welcome Deanna

34 weeks(girl)

sexkittyinwaiting · 23/01/2007 22:06

I am being thick or are alot of you having late scans?

Rosylily · 24/01/2007 05:29

No sign of a scan for me Kitty.

Shanks that's great the baby is a good size, I hope things are ok with your fluid and placenta next check up. Baby hiccups are really weird aren't they? Mine had them earlier.

Callie, it's so great that you are making such progress with Jordi now. And after everything you've been through the little things mean so much.

Diva your dreams sound very funny. Maybe your partner is so good that you are having trouble believing it fully! I of course don't have that problem!

Earlier I thought I'd ask how dh was coping with all my moaning....he said 'all the women are the same, they all moan' then he said 'some people get all upset for nothing because they actually listen to their woman.' So I said 'maybe some people actually care about their woman' and he said 'shut up if I didn't care I wouldn't be here'
okay....
Actually I think he used to get upset by my moodiness but I think I've burnt him out

Piffle I had carpal tunnel syndrome last time. It is a total pain. You poor thing I thought you had your share of stuff already this pregnancy!

I shall attempt to go back to bed...felt so ill last night I went to bed early but then I've been up with ds2 who has the total runs...I must see about eccinacea, we are struggling to shake off this bug.

foxabout2pop · 24/01/2007 06:17

Hi everyone

have been awake since 4am for some reason.

Suejonez came home yesterday with baby Daniel and he has brought the Kazak snow with him!!

There's a welcome home thread on the active convos.

Jay - glad Deanne has grown a bit. Will they deliver you early 'cos of the fluid? What did they say?

I've a late scan too on Monday, to see if my placenta has shifted out of the way...

I'm going to an ante natal class this arvo on posture - hoping to find a way to get rid of this lower back ache.

Enjoy the snow!!

34+3 (baby boy)

3rdTriMossTer · 24/01/2007 06:50

Morning all

So it's going to snow today? Oh I'm excited, I love the snow!! (Sorry to all you people who have to use a car, of course!) I wonder if the snow will make it up here, we normally just get sleet & rain.

It's been nice and cold the last two days here at least; it's so much better than feeling faint & hot all the time!

Due in October eh? Good grief, that makes me feel "seasoned"!!

Rosy your dh sounds funny!!

If he thinks women can moan some he should meet my dh; it took me about an hour last night to get him to come out of his grump! Don't know what he has to moan about, I'm the one who's pg! Plus he gets flexi time in work so while I'm up getting ready... he's fast asleep in bed!

Eids I might get a dummy then, just in case!

Dolly, glad you kicked some butt but as for threatening you with making you work to near your due date I must be naive, I thought that sort of thing only happened in the private sector, I thought if you were a teacher they gave you lots of maternity leave and made you put your feet up!

Is there any line of work where people are nice to pg women?

Callie you must be made up he is feeding properly. All your hard work is paying off

Sorry if I've missed anyone I had a lie in this morning (until twenty past six! Wow!) so am running a tad late.

3rdTriMossTer · 24/01/2007 06:53

Just checked the weather and it's not going to snow in St Helens or Liverpool today.

of those of you that get snow then!

eidsvold · 24/01/2007 06:56

snow - I wish. WIpes the sweat from her brow - about 35 degrees today and so humid - but some little rainclouds on the horizon - I hope so we could really do with the water.... have a bit of a water crisis on our hands here in Qld especially.

eidsvold · 24/01/2007 06:57

moss - dd2 was a very demanding baby - and with dd1's sn a dummy made life bearable at times.

sexkittyinwaiting · 24/01/2007 07:18

Morning, we've got enough snow here today to build a snowman . The children are very excited, It's lovely to see their faces.

muppetisacat · 24/01/2007 07:45

SNOW!!!!

I love it!!!

Kids playing outside already - no probs getting them out of bed this morning.

Callie - such gorgeous news about Jordi - must be so wonderful to feed him like that and so good the hospital is nearby for you.

Dolly - well done at work - go girl

Diva - pmsl at your dh and his computer - were you upset at catching him? Or did you discreetly close the door on them both?

Lots of us are having late scans... I'll have one in 2 weeks to check if boy is still breech.

Shanks - I've had so many different measurements through this pg - each time I go they flag something else only for it to be fine next time... although it's great that they can check for so many things i sometimes wonder whether i could have been saved a lot of worry by not being told quite so many estimations of size/weight. Still - it's good news your lo has reached the 5lb mark.

Rosy - seriously - get the echinacea!

33+5

TheBlonde · 24/01/2007 07:56

Morning all
Yep got snow here too. I got up at 4am to go to the loo and thought it looked a bit bright outside but didn't bother looking out of the window

Must go get dressed so I can chuck DS out the back door before it all melts

Leoladyofleisure · 24/01/2007 08:10

Me too fox, I woke up at 4 and couldn't go back to sleep. Feeling terrible now, just want to lie down. I was going to take ds to sils for the day but its snowing so now I'm not so sure about it don't want to get stuck in traffic desparate for a pee!!!! Not sure how I will cope with him on my own today though.

Fox, hope you get some help with the backache. These 3rd trimester ailments are just so wearing aren't they.

I had a baby bjorn for ds which I used a lot, but it is an old one with no back support so I am hoping to get another second hand one. I have bought a new Moby wrap which is jersey and supposed to be better and easier to use than the traditional ones like didymos. It also has diagrams of how to carry twins together We shall see!

Ds had a dummy from about 4 weeks to 4 months, it was a life saver for me as without it he wanted to be continuously sucking on me. For some reason he has started asking for one again at the moment, i think either they give him one at nursery or he is copying the other children as most of them seem to have them permanently.

LunarSea · 24/01/2007 08:11

Snow here too - now I wonder why dh was so keen to volunteer to take ds to school this morning? I rather suspect that snowballs en route is on the agenda. (I do wonder sometimes which is the child and which the adult IYSWIM!)

Rosylily · 24/01/2007 08:36

Hey You've all got snow and we haven't that's odd, we usually get it first here!

So that's how you spell it Muppet I will try to get some today and a tonic.

Moss your dh sounds funny too, I liked his email to you

Fox that is so exciting about Sue, must check out her thread.

I can never get mine to take a dummy, will try again this time. Aren't dummy's back 'in' again now since some research suggested using a dummy helped reduce the risk of cot death???
