This must be our 100th thread.

Possibly.

foxabout2pop · 24/01/2007 08:57

Oooh its lovely fluffy snow too - the proper stuff

I e-mailed my boss last night asking if you could upgrade my post as a new area of work has been added to my team Thought he might say "feck off" but he's said he's happy to consider it !!!!!!

Keep your fingers, toes and ovaries crossed for me, as DH will probably have no job after June so we need the dosh...

bethoo · 24/01/2007 09:04

we have thin slush which will be gone shortly!
is it me or am i the only one who seems ot have lost the will to actually work? spend most of my time with my hand on my bump wiaitng for him to move! it is the only thing that makes me smile these days!

3rdTriMossTer · 24/01/2007 09:37

Stop now immediately you lot are all making me very, very with your snow!! I want snow! I'm looking out the window now and I have a lovely clear view of the Liver Birds through the bright shining sun

Ah well at least it's cooler.

Foxy that's good about your work, maybe things are looking up? Perhaps your assertiveness about the desk squatter made them sit up and take notice

Bethoo I can't be arsed in work either. About three weeks ago, I asked them to change my role to make it less stressful (and to eliminate the twelve hour Tuesday come Feb), which to my great they did.

However they kept in an element of commission / target achievement, which at the time I thought was quite generous but now I've realised that it's actually very crafty as it means I have to do some work!

Never mind, yesterday was my last twelve hour day!!

Rosylily · 24/01/2007 09:49

You lot who are going to work have my deepest admiration. I have lost the will to take dd to nursery and make the dinner

And now I've even got a cleaner a couple of hours a week! which is really cringey but I guess I'll get used to it!

6 weeks and 3 days to edd (boy)

MrLSG · 24/01/2007 10:04

Lunar, Wednesday is my regular day for taking DS to school so that was obviously the reason . And with the pavements being so slippery it's clearly unsafe for you and bump to take him .

But yes, there were rather a lot of snowballs flying around: but why was I the target for all of DS's friends as well?

foxabout2pop · 24/01/2007 10:19

LOL Mr. Lunar!!!

Mossy I've got 17 days left to go...

Bethoo - I'm really enjoying work - but think I am Demob happy now

Rosy - I am of the opinion that "being at work" is actually far easier than "being at home with the kids".

You get to make lists and then actually acheive things, play on the computer, drink coffee and chat to adults. Its just that it makes the time you are at home so pressured and hurried, as you have to fit so much into the limited time you have; like homework, answering school letters, writing out cheques for the school, playdates, play time, writing out more cheques for the school, all the other stuff. My house is a tip, but when I'm on holiday or on maternity leave its quite tidy. When you work f/t some things you just have to let slip!!

Rosylily · 24/01/2007 10:19

Mrlsg if my dh started coming on here I'd be in big trouble! I'm always slagging him! I'd love to have a snowball fight myself, sick of being sensible all the time....well relatively sensible.

sexkittyinwaiting · 24/01/2007 10:35

Rosy, if he reads your posts he should be prepared to see stuff he doesn't like. I've written some not so nice stuff about dp on here and I reckon I need to do it and if he noses into my convos then it serves him right. Maybe he'll learn something.
I'm back off to the midwife this morning. I saw the dr earlier as I wanted bump measured again and it is still 2cm under. I'm not happy with that and want a scan to check all's ok as I'm all anxious now. Anyway I want to see the baby's face

AmieR · 24/01/2007 10:37

I was hoping to finish work this friday, but I can't see that happening the way thigns are at present. More deadlines coming in and no one else to deal with them at the moment.

had a wonderful 3 hours sleep too, which is making me grumpy. I hope LO sleeps like their dad! As soon as his head hits the pillow he's knocking back the zzzz's

oh well mustn't grumble.

3rdTriMossTer · 24/01/2007 10:44

Mr Lunar lol yes of course that was the reason

Good grief, I hope my dh never comes on here. Can you imagine the sulk? I'd be getting the silent treatment from here until EDD!

Kitty I hope they give you the scan, not only to ease your worries but also so you can see your lo's chubby cheeks

Foxy I do think you're right, I moan about work but god help me when I actually have a baby and have to do some real work!!! And those of you that have children already and are pg.... I don't know how you do it, really I don't.

Piffle · 24/01/2007 11:03

We had a little dusting of snow overnight, it has stuck around a bit this morning which delighted dd!

Another late pregnancy joy, I had leg cramps with ds (now 13) and none with dd (4) but had a horrendous one in the middle of the night and my leg still aches from where it was!
I also feel nauseous today, I did not eat much yesterday so am wondering if it's that.

I see into the future - 8 wks of moan moan moan
32 wks
a boy

sazzybee · 24/01/2007 11:24

I wimped out of going into work and am working from home - the tubes all seem to be up the spout which means a nightmare journey and I'm scared of falling over

Dolly - 42 weeks?! I'm going to burst if I carry on gaining fluid at the rate I have over the last week if I go over term. But induction's horrible isn't it?

I really need to start finding out stuff rather than avoiding unpleasant information I'd rather not know about

Piffle - I'm feeling nauseous at the moment too. I only had a pitta bread last night for dinner - couldn't face anything else.

I'm full of admiration for those of you who have children and are pregnant again. I'm not sure I could do it. I'm such a wuss

Piffle · 24/01/2007 11:34

re other kids
It's not so bad when you have a 13 yr old ds who can cook and make cups of tea, bath your 4 yr old and is a general massive help...
When your 4 yr old dd still naps for 2 hrs in the afternoon, sleeps through 13.5 hrs and is a delight generally.
god I'm lucky though

foxabout2pop · 24/01/2007 11:35

Kitty - try not to worry and enjoy the scan when it happens

AimeR - A trace of wine in the breast milk helps baby sleep I find

AmieR · 24/01/2007 12:33

Fox - I'll keep that in mind. I've got oodles of bottles stacked up from Christmas that I didn't have!

We decided to wet babies head with a vintage Dom Perignon we were given when we were married by DH's Brohter and SIL...

must put in fridge soon...

kiwibella · 24/01/2007 12:45

grrrrrr... just typed a post which hasn't appeared. ANNOYING!! Our puter at home has died so I was popping in to catch up.

bethoo · 24/01/2007 12:45

i am meant to be induced, why is it horrible? getting scared!!!

foxabout2pop · 24/01/2007 12:59

Bethoo - DD was induced it was fine. It meant being strapped to the monitor though, so I had an epi as well, whereas for ds I hadn't had to.

Don't worry, it'll be fine

Rosylily · 24/01/2007 12:59

Bethoo I think if you are on the drip for induction its more intense and people often opt for an epidural in that case.

It could be very disappointing if you had your heart set on a natural mobile labour and instead are on a drip etc. I was induced with ds1 but it only took the pessary they give you first to get me going.
labour is never easy what ever way you do it but its all worth it when you have your little one in your arms! don't worry!

Booboobedoo · 24/01/2007 13:18

Afternoon.
My Baby Bjorn was delivered earlier. Tried it on. It fits even though my norks are now massive - good sign.

I didn't realise it's only supposed to be used until the baby's 22lbs though. Seems a lot to spend for such a short period. Supppose I can sell it afterwards...

Lovely snow here too this morning - but I've stayed indoors! It's all melting now, so me and the dog are going to get extremely muddy this afternoon.

I feel quite 'fluidy' atm. Had to take my wedding ring off the other day, but it's back on now.

Ante-natal was great last night. She mainly focussed on the father's role, and really hammered it home to them that they would have to be inuitive and not ask us what they should be doing all the time. They all looked terrified. . Sort of wished we'd hired a doula now, but there's so much to spend money on.

3rdTriMossTer · 24/01/2007 13:24

Booboo: "fluidy". Could that be why my rings are really tight on my finger and why my knees are really achy when I bend them?

Still no snow here... bright, shining sun. Still, if it was snowing I suppose the trains would be up the wall again, like yours are Sazzybee, so every cloud an' all that...

AmieR I have put bubbly on my list of things that must be bought pre-birth. But I think it'll end up being Asda Cava!

Piffle sorry you're feeling sick, hope it subsides.

muppetisacat · 24/01/2007 13:26

Bethoo - have they told you when they will do it?

I had induction drip with ds and so opted for epidural then and there. Obviously it's not the natural birth many women want but there are advantages. I had no pain at all and after a few hours the midwife checked me and said "Oh - babies' head is right there!"

No comparison to the full blown hard labour i had to go through with dd.

Try not to worry about it and just be sure you are clear about your pain management options from the start.

muppetisacat · 24/01/2007 13:27

By the way - has anybody here had an elective cesarean b4? Can't remember and have just scared myself stupid reading about cesarean risks!

sazzybee · 24/01/2007 13:55

bethoo - if you're taking my word that induction's horrible, please don't!

Like I said, I'm a bit head in the sand and I try not to read about stuff until I know for sure it's going to happen or I scare myself witless.

Booboobedoo - that's great to hear that the babybjorn is comfy even with massive norks! My sister is lending me hers but she's a very slim, slight build and mine are currently 40DD so god knows how big they'll get once the milk comes in. My mum has been very dubious that I'll be able to fit the baby between my boobs so that's good to know

bethoo · 24/01/2007 14:14

if they still think i am diabestic i will be induced either the 1 or 2 march. i was hoping for a water birth originally.
i am having a nightmare with the father of my baby as he has decided he wants his own space at the mo and if i do not call he calls all nice and concerning but if i call him he is off with me and damm right rude to the point of nasty. i love him but am starting to think he is a lost cause. i told him the mw said i should not be on my own once baby is born and either he stays at mine or i stay at his (rather mine as he is a heavy smoker and do not trust his dog!, he said how can he stay at mine when he has other important things to do? he asked what other options i have, i told him they are the only options. i know he is under a lot of pressure as he is currently unemployed )i know he sounds like a right catch!!!) so he is looking for a job but cutting me out completely??? if it was not for the fact he means everythign to me i would have walked away. i have hardly seen him and i get worried about stupid things like being unnattractive now and he wants to play doting dad when baby hear but he has not been supportive at all throughout my pregnancy!
