1becomes3 - lol!!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 11/01/2007 21:13

My dh can cook tho and I am crap

It does make me angry when he says he goes out to work and why haven't I done such and such... but I do tend to ignore him as he does get up with the boys every morning and does bathtime/bedtime...and I can go away for weekends and know he will be great with them and they worship the ground he walks on and when he does stuff that annoys me I say 'Ted would do that'!!! (he's 3!) So not complaining as think have a pretty good hubbie really

Someone asked where I live (Flumpootle?) - I live in Colerne.

I must go to bed very soon.

Last point - I think I'd like a stretchy fanjo - sounds like the answer to all our prayers!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 11/01/2007 21:15

God, am so glad it isn't just me. I appreciate dh works ft, but I do 3 days a week and then the rest is dd and housework. I cannot remember the last time I did anything else!

DH offers to do stuff occasionally, but always has to ask me how to do it.

I just feel I need to get away to clear my head, and put things back in perspective. And to have someone cook a meal for me!
I cannot remember that last time me and dh went out to dinner - quite possibly over a year ago!

Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully after a decent nights sleep, I'll look back at this and think silly bitch!
Especialy when, as you say opinions, you look at the other threads. Dreadful stuff on the bereavement/miscarriage thread - I have shed many tears this week reading it.

Hope everyone is ok.

weeonion · 11/01/2007 21:17

an elastic fanjo would be great. preferably with lycra

muminabigtumi · 11/01/2007 21:25

BBCFK - Wow thanks for that - it is really good to get such experienced opinion!

I have to say after looking at lots of them today I have totally changed my mind on what I like. I had been all set on Bamboozles from Tots Bots but now I really like the One Life Nappy and Wrap or the Motherease one (they seem much the same but Motherease do an Organic Cotton one??)One Life seem to do a good value hamper.
Budget wise....if I get my way I will buy the One Life Rucksack and then probably add to my collection as baby grows! I can see how you can get addicted to all the diferent types - how sad am I!lol

I found the BumHugger it is Ellas House - but like you say that will probably only be needed later on for night time. But at least I have the webby in my favourites ready.

Just have to convince Phil now....he is SO negative about it all....I have given him all the leaflets to peruse...needless to say he is watching Only Fools and Frickin Horses....

opinionsrus · 11/01/2007 21:32

I think that a weekend away, even a night away can do miracles and when you come back you feel like a different person. I'm a big fan of weekend trips, especially the coast with all that sea air. A bit difficult at the moment though, what with the bump and all, but once things have settled down again thats going to be my next mission, trips away!

Yes tomorrow is another day, both yesterday and today I've had awful days with DS, probably cos you can't really go out much at the mo. Its blowing a gale up here right now, sounds like the windows are going to pop at any minute I feel a bit like dorothy from the wizard of oz.

I think I'm going to up his dose of Omega 3 anyway, think he's starting to get immune to it now, I'll have to start researching the latest kids wonderdrug methinks.

The bereavment/misc thread I can't even bring myself to look at, but yeh it does definitely put things back into perspective doesn't it???

1becomes3 · 11/01/2007 21:34

weeonion-LOL at lycra fanjo.
One of the perks of C-section, fanjo stays in the same shape.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 11/01/2007 21:39

The onelife birth to potty is slightly bigger and stretchier than the motherease generally - from what I have heard the organic one has no elastic or very little elastic in it so you don't get the movement you need - may be wrong but thats the impression given from a few people. Motherease are very good nappies though - don't get me wrong - I just prefer the onelife. If you can use your voucher anywhere let me know - the rucksack is a really good buy - email me on vickifinn at tiscali dot co dot uk.

Fanjo with lycra and natural numbing agents!

WestCountryLass · 11/01/2007 21:42

Funny thread title as someone asked me today "if I was ready because its not long now" I've 11 weeks to go

But am not stressing too much, everything is in babys room, just needs unpacking, and i'll sort out the homebirth stuff when i've done the birth plan at 36 weeks, what else is there to do????

PS. On baby No 3 so everything is bought already.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 11/01/2007 21:52

Ah you see - I got rid of everything - so have had to start all over again! I am amazed by how much stuff we now have in the nursery and have forgotten what it was like to be inundated with baby things - needless to say nappies take up two large baskets and having bought vests and sleepsuits have just been given loads more by a friend - I would estimate having 20 short sleeve vests and 15 long sleeve tops or vests - madness - I do have a washing machine, tumble drier and garden to dry stuff! when on earth is he going to wear them all. I have told family and friends not to buy the baby anything at all - but will get them to put money into an account or not at all.

1becomes3 · 11/01/2007 21:55

Right that is me done, I am going to go beach myself in bed now.

Can't wait to spread myself out, heaven

WestCountryLass · 11/01/2007 22:00

Haven't bought any nappies yet!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 11/01/2007 22:02

Well - you're in the right place

Birdiebump · 11/01/2007 23:32

Pampers or Huggies, Pampers or Huggies, oh - which shall I choose?????

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 12/01/2007 07:41

Birdiebump, I am with you - pampers or huggies!!?? Or were you being sarcy?

I'm afraid I am dreadful and go with disposables every time. I will jut have to be even greener at home to make up for it.

Sorry for my rant last night on here. Feel better after a totally undisturbed night last night!

Hope everyone is well. 1becomes3, how was your night in the bed alone!?

Better go - need to get ready for work.

Later... xx

OD · 12/01/2007 08:27

you cans start being bio from the day your babe is born. Nature (naty.com) are available from Waitrose and sainsbury's, and are 70% bio. Did you know the average bottom's worth of nappies covers a football pitch a year. And they take HINDREDS of years to decompose. It's our babies environment we're in charge of - let's look after it for them, please.

btw: the nappies are just as good as the brand ones, and you'll feel really worthy using them!

glitterkitty · 12/01/2007 09:16

1becomes3 LOL! at ur hubby's dinner- your posts always make me laugh!

And sexonslightlypuffyetc- give me back my DP! Or are all men this indecisive?

Has anyone else done nothing yet about preparing a room etc? I have 15 weeks to go, and its really starting to loom over me. Would help if I didnt have to argue the case for everything I want to buy with my dp! I dont think he's being deliberatly difficult...- but having not read any baby books/mags/advice he cannot see the need of certain things- like nappy bins, changing tables, baby baths etc (cant we put it in the sink?! WTF?!

Pesha · 12/01/2007 09:49

OD (who are you btw?!) Would like to use reusables but just wouldn't ever work for me. Are these nature nappies available in any other major supermarkets? We have tesco, asda, somerfield and morrisons but no waitrose or sainsburys (common town! ). And are they same price as huggies and pampers or are they more expensive?

Glitterkitty, i have a cot moses basket etc from dd and ds but this is only 3 bed house so at the mo bean has no room to go into at all, everything is still in the loft, have nowhere to put any of the things i have bought and i am starting to worry but im overwhelmed by the prospect of sorting out all their toys and redecorating and moving everything around and what needs buying and still have no energy what so ever. Gonna have to make a start on it all very soon though. Ive ordered a new bed for dd which will be here in 2 weeks now so need to have somewhere to put it. Sh*t. 2 weeks!!

Oh meant to say the yahoo thing for picture sharing sounds like a good idea. Cant remember who suggested it but think we may need you to organise it or some other clever person cos i dont have any idea what it is really!

flumppootle · 12/01/2007 10:26

Wonder how Mavetas getting on? Sounds like a yuck test.
Loving the man dinner talk. It must be a universal question to all men, I find that a good reply to the "what's for dinner"? query is...."whatever you buy on the way home darling" works a treat for me
PSML at the elastic/lycra fanjos, mine wasn't I'm afraid. Even needed....er....refashioning (tmi-sorry) since dc3 ...so now have.....aherm.....a designer one....AND I WANT TO KEEP IT!!!!!!!!!
Shhh dont tell anyone by the way

Cant believe I have just typed that!

flumppootle · 12/01/2007 10:27

Am now blushing at pc

GirtWaspbElly · 12/01/2007 10:56

V impressed at designer fanjo & understand desire to keep it! Stop think it's a bit actually!

Dh is worse than "don't mind" for the dreaded dinner Q: he says "no" to 2 suggestions and when asked - THEN says 'I don't know' and gets really fustrated by it!

SOL - we went out for dinner at a friends (ds's Godparents) last night - just took the travel cot - all ate together (incl ds at 18mo) who had had a snack to put him on & who thrives on attention like food so with 4 adults to play with as well as a ....

(wait for it - it's exciting..)

DOG !!
was amenable to waiting... meant that he was so tired he went straight to sleep once put down and we stayed & chatted for another hour or so. Just bliss to not to have to cook and people to share the eve bedtime chores with. Also meant he slept through the night better than recently.

T'was much easier than trying to find a babysitter! We might have to see if we can find another friend that owes us dinner soon! The other option is to create the favour & have them round: arriving post normal bedtime routine with ds already down. Not as in Dinner Party - just evening food that they don't have to cook and just extra of what I was going to do already!

Seems to work well for us, an is a way of keeping in touch rather than going out for drinks at the pub...

weeonion · 12/01/2007 10:59

flump - v v at yr designer fanj. is there any on ebay at the mo? i coudl do with one of them already .......

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 12/01/2007 11:07

A designer fanjo - wonderful! Look after it!!

Waspelly, your evening sounded lovely. We do things like that. I just want to go overboard and go to The Ivy or something and then stay in a luxury hotel! Whilst dd is with her grandparents!!

GK, I have done nothing for baby's room. I need to get everything out and see what we have got and what we need. Really need dh to help though as I can't reach. He did say he would do it this week when dd is in bed, but nothing so far! He also needs to put the cotbed together again, and we need to clear out the junk that is in the baby changing unit - currently a load of albums!

I can't believe we only have 15 or less weeks to go - SCARY!

flumppootle · 12/01/2007 11:09

at finding them on ebay!!!!!!!!!
Thought that I had scared everyone away

Sounds like a good night GWE. Its great when you have friends that you can do that with. Our dds have ready beds which are fab for that aswell!

CaptainDippy · 12/01/2007 11:47

LOL @ Lycra Fanjo - Would be fantastic - although this is my third, so thinking mine is bucket-like enough for bubs to just "drop" out - That is what I'm hoping anyway!!

Just cannot keep up with this thread - just zooming on quickly now that friend and little girl have gone and DD2 is still sleeping (just!) Gotta get dinner then go to pick DD1 up from nursery, then zoom into town and go to friends house for more tea, go to the toilet about a zillion more times, get home, make dinner, eat dinner, bath DD's, put DD's to bed after a zillion wees and a zillion stories and then we are going out for a couple of hours to visit friends who had a gorgeous baby boy last week - Phew! Thinking I perhaps need to slow it down a little!!!!? Mmmmmm .... Don't think I'll be popping in til tomorrow now, so hope you all enjoy the rest of your Friday's .......

Hope Maveta got on ok - am thinking of her. It is a horrid test, poor thing. [hugs]
