Nathan,Maia and Suzanne pre pg (maybe!)

Pesha · 11/01/2007 13:27

Bollocks!

YvieE · 11/01/2007 13:30

EllieK really glad that you have found happiness again, and please don't feel bad about chatting thats what we are here for. I'm sure your best friend is caught up in the throws of the "honeymoon" period herself - hopefully she'll be around more often when then you LO arrives. In the meantime keep filling us in

Maveta sorry to hear about your fainting - especially getting that feeling whilst driving. Hope your visit to A&E goes well.
I've been at the hospital myself this am. I hadn't felt the baby move as vigrously over the past few days as I had previously. They used the doppler and heard the baby's HB, then they sent me for a scan and she was stretching - just not hard not enough for me to feel! So everything is fine and now I feel like I just can't wait to meet her!

GMM - just thinking about finances sends my blood pressure rising. I thought MA was a definite if you are self employed?

RH - sorry to hear about the SPD, now it has been confirmed hopefully you can get the necessary treatment to alleviate the pain.

maveta · 11/01/2007 13:31

Hi Girls, thanks again - what a couple of moans I´ve had yesterday and today! But thanks for listening.

They took my blood sugar at the hospital and it was 41. I think normal is nearer 90-100. So they gave me some juice and biscuits and waited to take it again and it went back to normal. Had to wait ages to see the doctor and he said that while it ´could´ be a sign of gestational diabetes they aren´t going to do anything at the moment, I have my gest. diabetes test tomorrow and they´ll see what that says. But it´s only a ´could be´and I´m not reading any more than that into it.

I wouldn´t have gone to the hospital except the midwife said too and is better to be safe than sorry. Will make sure I carry supplies on me and hope for the best with the next tests. BTW I looked up symptoms of hypoglycaemia and they include ´sudden changes in behaviour such as crying for no apparent reason´ which explains my probable slight over reaction.

/end drama

Love all the photos - you are all beautiful and the kids are adorable.

I know this is old news but I have to chime in and agree that your PIL, Nuttygirl, sound like unhappy, unpleasant people who don't understand what is important in life. On the up side it sounds like your DH is a sweetie and your parents have hearts of gold and their priorities in the right order. Thank goodness for them!

Maveta - hope you are doing fine and being kindly taken care of...we'll be looking forward to hearing how everything went. And I don't know of one medical professional or pregnancy book that would advocate a diet in pregnancy!! Your midwife should go back to school. You look fabulous and trim and healthy in your photo!

No photo at the moment but I am Beth (31) married to Phil (38), Canadians living in west London. We are first-timers and thoroughly enjoying the adventure! Due April 11th, sex of baby unknown.

YvieE · 11/01/2007 13:35

Pesha x posted - glad that the pain was muscular and nothing more serious.

glitterkitty · 11/01/2007 13:38

Ok, I'm trying to link- this was in December, 20 weeks and in Barbados ! Much nicer than muddy Jan in the office... here

IsabellyMoi · 11/01/2007 13:40

Maveta - x-posted. Glad you are okay - take care and hope the gestational diabetes test goes well tomorrow.

Katy44 · 11/01/2007 13:46

Hi everyone,
maveta, hope everything goes well with gest diabetes test, the fainting sounds really scary!
Have loved looking at pictures of you lot and LOs - all very cute! I too would prefer to share photos slightly more securely tho - maybe I'm overreacting but I would imagine it's exactly these sorts of forums weirdos would look in for children's pictures to doctor and sell on to other weirdos. I don't want to scare anyone and I don't think anything is likely to happen to photos that are only up for a few days but I'd feel a lot more comfortable if those posts were removed and we all joined a yahoo group (whatever that is!)
Does anyone agree, or am I just overreacting
Anyway, sharing details, I'm Kate, 27 and DH is Dan, 28. We both work in IT and live in Durham.

claricebean · 11/01/2007 13:47

Glad you're OK Maveta. I really suffer from hypoglycaemia even when not pg. It makes me really irritable and can come on v suddenly. Also affects my vision and makes me feel faint. DH is always asking whether I need to eat something when a sudden mood hits, and he's usually right even when I don't realise.

Runnyhabit, sorry about your SPD confirmation but at least you know you're getting help. I had it v mildly with DS and can feel it starting again this time. I'm trying a maternity belt to see if that helps.

Hi, everyone else. I'm a lurker on this board but find it v supportive to read everyone's stories - especially with DH away (no one to moan at LOL).

CaptainDippy · 11/01/2007 14:38

Afternoon, feeling knackered after lugging the hoovering round for a bit, so coming on here to recuperate!!

Hope everything goes ok with the Gest Diabetes test Maveta - Do keep us informed honey!

Ooooh, glittykitty - you look v.glam @ Barbados!!

Arse about the SPD runny - Hoping it doesn't get any worse - you're v.sensible to take it as it comes!

Whoever was talking about water births - I would really like to have one but haven't managed it so far - there were no facilities for water births at the place I had DD1 and DD2 was a pre-term induced labour so no chance - Really hoping for a home waterbirth this time round ..... we'll see .....

glitterkitty · 11/01/2007 14:48

re: waterbith- I keep thinking of baths and how your fingers go wrinkly after a while- which puts me off a bit- or am I being mad? And does the water stay hot?

CaptainDippy · 11/01/2007 14:53

I think it depends what kind of birth pool you get - DH and I are going to hire one that has a heating system installed so stays warm for as long as you need - otherwise I think they need topping up (depending on how long you are in there, average time seems to be only about 2/3 hrs from what I have seen.) Never thought about the wrinkly fingers thing .... Mmmmmm

Whoops!!

glitterkitty · 11/01/2007 15:07

I'ts horrible that we should have to worry about weight- (I thought everyone looked gorgeously slim and glam!). I am trying really hard not to weigh myself, but I know I have put on 2stone already- trying not to stress about it tho . I was already overweight at the start as well- but my excuse for 8lbs in 1st 8 weeks is giving up ciggies & coffee! All appetite supressants gone- and eatings about the only fun thing to do at the mo, as cant drink or dress up... waddles off to find more chocolate

Katy44 · 11/01/2007 15:11

glitterkitty, definitely agree with that. I have the attitude that if DH can relax at the end of the day with a whiskey I can have a bar of chocolate!

1becomes3 · 11/01/2007 15:42

I am really not trying to think about my weight I have no iead what is the right sort of weight to put on for twins, am pretty sure I have gone over what ever it is.

My arse is MASSIVE

weeonion · 11/01/2007 15:53

afternoon folks - and what a cute bunch of kiddies you all have!!

glitter and katy - agree on the chocolate! i too have given up coffe, cigs & alcohol so reckon that i can indulge in other treats. actually eating loads that i would never have near when not pg. i keep thinking that as i lost over 10 stone in the past - i WILL do it agin after this one.... anyhow - i agree that we all look lush!

maveta - i get really fainty alot during pg (& before). always have to keep banana to hand for when the blurred vision and slurred speech starts.

GMM - what a bummer on the job front. its even more dificult if you werent planning it that way. no other small pieces of work to be picked up??

1becomes3 · 11/01/2007 16:01

someone tell me what i am doing wrong, every time i try and do a link for photo's from photobucket it just doesn't work Fucking pile of shit!!!!!!
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Birdiebump · 11/01/2007 16:02

Waterbirth - The pool we hired had a heater thing which kept the water at a constant temperature. Was bloody wonderful! DH and I used to lounge about in it with glasses of wine before the birth (was late as usual so plenty of time to get our monies' worth).

Don't worry about wrinkles ! But do some thorough searching if you are thinking of hiring one - there's a lot of choice and a big variation in prices. Also the risk of missing your due date, hiring too late or too soon and having to pay for an extra week, which can really add up.

glitterkitty · 11/01/2007 16:04

Try
\link{http:photobucket addy thing\this

(and you have to type in the 'this' at the end or it dosent work). Try previewing first. Nearly drove me insane.

Birdiebump · 11/01/2007 16:05

MAVETA - good news so far but take it easy, chick!

1B3 - we need more swearing!!! This thread is too jolly by far.....

Bugger, bugger, bugger! (my personal favourite and one I say in front of DS2 far too often).

glitterkitty · 11/01/2007 16:06

Ahhh, thanks! They have one at my hospital, and are REALLY keen to get you into it. So I said yes, reluctantly, but glad to see a lot of people seem to think they are good!
