Hey ladies- hope you are all well!!

Had a lovely weekend, mum came up on saturday... raided mothercare and m&p.. have lots of nice things.. practical too, as opposed to all the little clothes that I have been buying for the past couple of months!!!

Maveta you have my sympathies trying to sort rooms out.. we are doing exactly the same, whole process involves selling spare bed to mate from work (who is piss-arsing about re coming and picking it up) selling bunk beds on ebay, and buying sofa bed, and thats before we even think about clearing the rest of the junk out of the nursery!! We have a large 3 bed detached and at the moment it is bursting at the seams with our stuff.. god knows whats going to happen come April!!

Sorry to change the conversation totally, long shot I know but I was just wondering whether anyone had the isabella oliver halterneck in crimson size 10 or 12 that I could buy/borrow/steal... got friend from schools engagement party in 2 weeks and need to look blooming and gorgeous... not troll like and minging which is the current look....

Tili · 15/01/2007 10:50

CD we got married sept 2005 me and ste havent changed much well I have from the waist down obviously.
Im going to have to get this scanner sorted so I can put some recent pics on here and get some in of my bump.I dont have any pics of me when I was pg last time either I hate having my photo taken so I always hide behind other people!!lol

claricebean · 15/01/2007 11:00

CD, thanks for the P&T advice. I've found a site that will deliver to Spain quite cheaply and has a sale on at the mo so I think I just have to make up my mind based on comments I've had and go for it!!

Re the cocoon, I am guessing these are pretty warm. By April it will probably be in the mid twenties here or maybe higher, so don't think I'll need one. Also, have seen something about mudguards - do these come as standard / are they necessary? It doesn't rain much here, but when it does it chucks it down, and there's not much mud. But, are these more to stop over zealous toddlers getting their fingers stuck in the wheels when in the back seat?

Hi, Tili.

Congrats to everyone who's doing constructive things with bedrooms. Am too tired today to do anything more than the basics.

GirtWaspbElly · 15/01/2007 11:01

Glad to hear other peoples weekends went well - whilst I had a nice Saturday (Wasps won att he rugby!) and ds was ...OK... through the match so I got to watch most of it, dh had our chippie friend round to have a look at the rotten bit of skirtingboard in our (downstairs but only) bathroom. To discover it's dry rot, had been covered over by the previous owners with CHIPBOARD and has shot round the bathroom and may be into the kitchen too.

Cue tears.

Not good. Sigh. So, get the surveyors in, see extent of damage and just get it done. All hopefully in the next 12 weeks? All the more as was kind of planning to have a home birth seeing as ds arrived at home unplanned! Not sure if midwife will be too happy with no working bathroom?

Positive things - looking forward to Southampton meet up as it's all getting closer!

Pictures of dh & ds, are proving difficult to uplaod - will have a nother go late r- must make more of my morning off sans ds to get paperwprk done - child tax credit, etc...

I'll echo all advice to really put the effort in taking into easy - you'll recover better afterwards if you can!

geordiemacminx · 15/01/2007 11:02

sorry - xposted there tili - your wedding pics are gorgeous!!! dp and I arent married, but will probably get round to when tjhe little one is a bit older... will be lovely having him there... how old is your daughter?

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2007 11:04

I'd get the cocoon anyway imo - cos it is v.useful for transporting little person round the house etc and you can have it open in the pram so the little one doesn't get too warm. I found it a life-saver on many occasions ...... I think that mudguards come as standard on all P&T's now, but I'd ask - they are about £12 to buy individually. Don't forget to buy a pump!!

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2007 11:06

Arse to dry rot waspelly - hope you can get it sorted a bit quicker than that!! I am looking forward to the meet up too - v.exciting!

glitterkitty · 15/01/2007 11:11

Took me ages to read all the weekend posts! Glad everyone is ok- and v relieved that SOSPL's bleeding stopped! Update...

Me- I'm definatly not in 3rd Tri yet- only 25+3, and all my books are saying 28? So unfair- quite agree the 2nd does seem to be dragging now. Spent weekend worrying about the birth- seems much nearer now, and I cant stop thinking about tearing & resulting sex life being ruined. Really craving sweet stuff/fruit at moment too.

DP- being extremely lazy, but got a good bollocking in bed last night- when I called today he said he was 'cleaning'. Good for him- I have now gone on strike and will be doing NOTHING until I finish work (2 March)so he can see exactly how much I do. Not sure I'll be able to hold to this tho!

Baby- kicking like mad, I sit in meetings watching my belly jump! Muminabigtumi- mines bigger than yours! I think you look lovely, properly pg!

claricebean · 15/01/2007 11:12

Thanks, CD. Advice much appreciated. It's all so complicated when you can't just walk into a shop and ask - LOL!

hotlipsmummy · 15/01/2007 11:12

CD - I got told the mudguards weren't a standard fitting yet when I ordered mine on Thursday last week. But that might be Glasgow Pram Centre's response... If I decide that I need them can your shop supply them?
I (very boring) went for the charcoal colour. Think it will show the dirt the least and I'm not a "look at my buggy" type - hate all the garish colours of the Bugaboo!! And got the cocoon too - think it will be useful as CD says and also a friend says it stops the baby moving around too much in the early days when they are tiny.

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2007 11:27

Oh, the mudguards definitely come as standard now when you order the P&T from my shop. Anyway, yes - I would be happy to organise ordering some in for you Hotlips - no probs!

GlitterKitty - GOOD FOR YOU - re: DH!!

Think I might go and try to stuff some choc in before DD1 comes home and DD2 wakes!!

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2007 11:33

I'm 25 + 4 today! Time flies ....

Also meant to post, I bought some Size 16 Maternity Thongs in error the other day - I've already used one pair (bit of an emergency in town, I'm afraid ) I am not really a "thong" sort of girl and I was wondering if any of you might want them? They are still untouched in the packet; but I can't really take them back now as there's one pair missing!! [blush Happy to send them for P&P. Let me know: [email protected]

hotlipsmummy · 15/01/2007 11:35

cd - does that mean I haven't bought the most up to date version of the p&t?? I thought the e3 explorere v2 was the most up to date model available... AAHHHHHH... breathe, trying not to stress etc etc

(Apologies everyone else for boring p&t chat!)

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2007 11:39

Nope, you have DEFINITELY bought the latest model honey - Don't fret!! It is probably just the supplier that my shop uses. I know the mudguards as standard is a v.recent addition to our collection - DON'T WORRY - Breathe Deeply ..... and Relax .....

claricebean · 15/01/2007 11:56

I think the supplier I'm getting t from doesn't have them as standard so would need to get extra. Are they a safety feature too (thinking little fingers) or just to protect buggy from mud?

hotlipsmummy · 15/01/2007 11:59

phew - still slightly annoying tho as my DS does stick his fingers in the back wheels when riding in the back of his mate's p&t. Still, am hoping that by April plus a few months (when no 2 will need a seat rather than baby bit) he will have grown out of doing it so won't need the guards...

Tili · 15/01/2007 12:04

hi again just picked bethany up from preschool GMM beth is 4 it was her birthday at the end of sept so the poor mite just missed out on school so will be going this sept. I cant believe how quickly the time flies.

I sorted out the baby clothes that were up in the loft at the weekend. It broke my heart to see all the tiny newborn dresses that she had.I cant believe she was ever that small and now here she is ready to start school and nagging at me like shes the parent!!

All this talk of prams is making me panic. We hated the one we had for dd it looked lovely but was awkward to manouvere and had the raincover from hell so we definately want a new one but it is a lot of money to fork out for something that you dont know how easy and practical it willbe till your putting it to the test
Will have to put my thinking cap on me thinks !!

maveta · 15/01/2007 12:50

Oh man, I´m never going to remember everything so as always apologies for those missed out...

Claricebean - I´m in spain too, can you let me know which site you found which delivers for a reasonable amount?

Tili - gorgeous pics, your dress was lovely!

CaptainDippy - Sorry you´re not feeling 100% it´s so miserable when you can´t sleep well. Not looking forward to the sleep deprivation of a newborn in the slightest..I LOVE MY SLEEP! [waaaaaaah smiley!]

BBCK - good effort with the plastering and keep up the avoidance re. ironing!!

Birdiebump - thanks for the recommendation, am off to have a look now.

Oh god, I give up, I am so sorry I can´t keep up and keep scrolling up and down to remember who said what, make a mental list and then scroll down to write my reply. Keep forgetting and now going a bit cross eyed with all the scrolling!!

It does make me laugh that we get so fixated on things, mine is the cot but it seems by far many more people are obsessing about prams. Good luck to all of you in your searches. Shall be back later after my eyes have uncrossed!

Pesha · 15/01/2007 13:49

Someone ages ago said they had a XTS twister when i said i was thinking of getting one, cant remember who though, sorry. Can you tell me is it quite wide as i've read a couple of reviews that say it is. I first saw it in local baby shop and dont remember thinking it was wide but the shop has now shut and is looking for new premises apparently so cant go and have another look. We need a 3 wheeler for dog walking and I def want a swivel wheel as find fixed wheels absolute pain in bum and the twister really seems like the best for the price and i think goes with the car seat ive already got and the carry cot is only £69 and i really want a carry cot cos i always wanted one before and never got one and this is last baby!!

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 15/01/2007 14:00

Does anyone have a mamas and papas 3 in one with carrycot? This is what I bought off ebay and the raincover is huge - comically so - do you know whether you can get one that just stretches over? Or do you think one of those universal ones will do?

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 15/01/2007 14:13

Aha - you can buy one from M&P for £30- newer, more compact design - one on ebay !

claricebean · 15/01/2007 14:14

maveta, whereabouts are you in Spain? the site is www. pramworld.co.uk. They said they'd deliver to Spain for £25 which I reckon is pretty good as I seem to pay half that every time I do an Amazon order.

maveta · 15/01/2007 14:37

Claricebean - I´m in Mallorca..I´ll have a look around that site, good to know who will deliver!

Pesha · 15/01/2007 14:46

V quick post - Just told ds its time to go get dd from school, is he going to walk or go in the pushchair (giving choices in the hope he'll realise stay here watching curious george isn't an option!) His answer: 'Washing machine' !! Er...ok. Its amazing what goes on in the mind of a 3 year old!!

muminabigtumi · 15/01/2007 14:58

Hi everyone!

Weeonion....Hello! waves ...lets just say that even though I was v tired and thought sex drive had disappeared....it came back ...although have felt v uncomfortable afterwards and I think I have done something to my back....youch! I don't think it will be long before I just feel too big and uncomfortable to want him near me!

Tili and Dogin santas grotto - where abouts in Cheshire are you both. I used to live in Bollington and worked in Macc and Alderley Edge but moved over here 2 year ago...just wondered whereabouts you were...and Tili your wedding pics are GORGEOUS.

Thanks to all who said I look nice - cheered me up!

I've just read everything and cannot remember a blinking thing...for all of you who are looking into Prams (I can't afford a new one and have a Mamas and Papas Aria that I am more than happy with) there was an article in You Mag in Mail on Sunday from Normandie Keith (posh yummy mummy beauty type) and she was raving about the Mamas and Papas Pliko Travel System (I had that) and saying it was wonderful...she had bought it as she couldn't get on with that fancy Bugaboo thingy thats all the rage...

Maveta - glad you got some kip now your room is a cat free zone. Little monkeys! and 11.30 is early for you on a Sunday night....I must be getting V old! lol

Dippy - big hugs to you on the sleep front...it's debilitating when they get out of their routine...DS has had a few days of getting up at 5.30 am and coming in for a cuddle...going to have to knock it on the head...Phil is away for a few nights from tomorrow (am I the only one who is a big scaredy and can't sleep when husband goes away???) so I am planning to put him to bed a bit later and see if it helps. Can thoroughly recommend those Tomy bedguards as James always falls out of bed without one - think he is a active sleeper!

Waspelly - big Boo! re the Rot - nightmare....but you will be amazed what a pregnant lady can get organised in 12 weeks. I moved house at 32 weeks last time and we managed to get all the upstairs decorated and everything done in time...although Dry rot is probably more involved than decorating...I am clueless re DIY!

Pesha - re clothes - went to our Tesco Extra yesterday and the Cherokee range has some new lovley long length tops in bright red and primary colours (up to a size 26) and were only £8 each! They are good as they are stretchy material so hug your bump rather than hang off it - I am not a fan of the Demis Roussous Kaftan look either

Well just done my online shop and think I may catch an hours kip on couch before have to get James from nursery.....

Sorry it's so long!
