Hello,

So couldn't see a January baby post (probably because no one is mad enough to POAS as early as me!)

Anyway, I thought I would start one (waves). I am 28, this will be DC#2 making my 4 year old DS a big brother which he has been so excited about becoming (we haven't told him yet though as very early days!) I am roughly around 4 weeks and we're not planning on telling anyone for ages so thought I would start a thread so I have someone to get excited with!

Please come and say hello! Xx

Good luck tomorrow Emz

MagpieCursedTea · 16/08/2016 22:07

Good luck emz!

Emz32 · 16/08/2016 22:27

Thank you. Really nervous. It's in the morning so once DS goes off to childminders, I won't have much time to think about it. Fingers crossed everything is ok

stealthbanana · 16/08/2016 23:43

Good luck emz!

Emz32 · 17/08/2016 07:11

Thanks. Didn't sleep well at all. Good luck Admarks as I think you were my scan buddy today. Fingers crossed for good news for us both. There seems to be a lot of people having boys. When I had my DS the entire antinatal group of 6 all had boys.

Admarks · 17/08/2016 07:29

Thanks Emz, good luck to you too!! Scan is this morning and I'm feeling really nervousConfused. Hope everything is ok in there! What time is your scan?

MagpieCursedTea · 17/08/2016 07:51

Good luck to you too Admarks! Hope you both have fantastic scans!

Emz32 · 17/08/2016 08:02

Mines at 10.50. Just getting DS ready & will them get myself ready. Not long to wait. Hoping they do the cervical scan without any arguments too.

Emz32 · 17/08/2016 08:47

What time is yours Admarks. Trying to think positive thoughts & breath

Bella1985 · 17/08/2016 09:06

Good luck to you too Admarks Here's hoping your babies will be more co-operative than mine and will give you an easy scan! Smile

stealthbanana · 17/08/2016 11:32

Good luck admarks!

Emz32 · 17/08/2016 11:48

And breath... Everything fine. Cervix apparently looks good. Got told off for not having drunk enough water (my fault, I hate it when you need to pee & they press on your tummy!) so had to be internal for cervix. Baby was waving as they took photos. Very relieved & don't know the sex either. Was a tiny bit tempted.

Admarks · 17/08/2016 12:23

Good news Emz! Glad all was well and you got your cervix scan. All good here too- also tempted to find out the sex but I held strong and will find out in Dec/Jan. Baby was constantly moving and waving and it was great to see. DH is still baffled how I don't feel movement all the time (and so am I seeing how much it was moving!)

Emz32 · 17/08/2016 14:54

Great news Admarks. Feel really excited now. Plus my first baby purchase has arrived, got a free box of goodies from Amazon for being a prime member. Did tell me id need a cervical scan later on too. Something to look forward to. Baby is in the breech position at the moment & my placenta is posterior which is why I feel this one so much more than my son. His placenta was anterior & he was head down most of the time, amazing the difference. Do you also just feel more second time round? Muscles are slightly looser? Blush

MagpieCursedTea · 17/08/2016 15:26

Great news Admarks and Emz!
I think you can feel the baby earlier the second time around as the muscles are looser. I know I did! I do feel like this baby is a lot more active than DS was, but I have a posterior placenta this time and had an anterior placenta last time so that probably makes a difference. I was worrying a bit as I read they're only meant to be awake for 4 hours a day at this point but it feels like he never stops. Can a foetus sleep walk...? Grin

happylass · 17/08/2016 16:05

Afternoon ladies. Apologies for the silence. Been on hols for the last few weeks but firmly back to reality now Sad. Great news on the scans. We have ours tomorrow - nerves have already started to kick in.
Stealth I think a Babymoon is a great idea. Ours wasn't booked as one as we planned it way before we got the BFP but that's pretty much what it turned in to. We did a weeks cruise around the Eastern Med then back to Venice for the weekend before heading over to Greece for 9 days for a beach hol. It was so nice just to relax and not to have to think about cooking or cleaning. The only bit I found hard work was the few days in Venice as we did a lot of walking in intense heat and I developed some serious cankles! 🙈
Hope everyone else is ok - can't believe we're all half way or thereabouts!

Bella1985 · 17/08/2016 19:40

Fantastic news admarks and emz! Good luck tomorrow happylass
I've developed cankles yesterday and even though they've gone down over night they're back up today...Shock

Admarks · 17/08/2016 20:16

Thanks everyone, such a relief! Good luck tomorrow Happylass !

This is my first so nothing to compare to but I also have a posterior placenta and baby is in breech. Not sure if it's physiological, but since the scan I'm sure I feel him/her move more. Just googled the crown to heel length and baby should be about 26cm long (oddly sonography didn't take this measurement) so I'm surprised I don't feel more movement. Baby must be well insulated!!

I wish we could have a baby moon- our house is a bit of a diy zone and we need to get it done (or most of it done) before December. This seems to eat up our money and spare time!

Ohh - cankles here too, plus my tummy button is halfway to becoming an outie!

MagpieCursedTea · 18/08/2016 06:58

My belly button is getting more shallow too! It didn't pop out last time though, so not sure if it will this time? I'm a fair bit thinner this time around so it feels like I'm experiencing a changing pregnant body for the first time in some ways.

Happylass all the best for the scan today. Hope it goes well!

I have to go up to the big hospital today (all my scans and antenatal are at a small local hospital) to their fetal medicine until so the baby can have a heart scan. I've been told there's a risk of baby having a heart defect due to gestational diabetes starting so early this time around. Everything looked okay on the 20 week scan but this will be more detailed. Feeling pretty nervous!

Emz32 · 18/08/2016 07:19

Good luck with the scan Happylass. Hope it goes well. Your holiday sounds amazing!

Hope the heart scan shows no problems Magpie. Must be so scary being told that even when there's no problems at the 20 week scan. Fingers crossed your little boy is ok.

I'm hoping my tummy button doesn't pop out. It didn't with my DS but is looking very stretched right now. I'd forgotten how tight your tummy feels when pregnant.

stealthbanana · 18/08/2016 08:10

Good luck happylass! Your holiday sounds great.

magpie hope the scan goes ok. It sounds like it is just a belt and braces thing to make absolutely sure your little one is ok. Am sure it'll all be ok & on the plus side at least you have a chance to see your baby again! GL.

happylass · 18/08/2016 09:03

Wishing you all the very best for the scan Magpie. I'm sure they are just being ultra cautious but sorry you're having to deal with this stress Flowers
My belly button is also starting to look a bit more stretched. Really hoping it doesn't pop out!

MagpieCursedTea · 18/08/2016 13:17

Thanks all! Had the scan and everything is looking normal so no follow up needed. Very relieved! I don't have any appointments at all for nearly a month which is a bit of a novelty!

Emz32 · 18/08/2016 13:41

Great news Magpie. At least they have had a good look & been vigilant. Iv got first consultant app next week & then nothing til October when Iv got more blood & midwife at 28 weeks. Seems a long way off!

happylass · 18/08/2016 16:02

All good with the baby at the scan. I apparently have a small fibroid which needs monitoring so I'm back for another scan and consultant in 2 weeks. We also get a midwife check up at 24 weeks and again at 28.
