Hello,

So couldn't see a January baby post (probably because no one is mad enough to POAS as early as me!)

Anyway, I thought I would start one (waves). I am 28, this will be DC#2 making my 4 year old DS a big brother which he has been so excited about becoming (we haven't told him yet though as very early days!) I am roughly around 4 weeks and we're not planning on telling anyone for ages so thought I would start a thread so I have someone to get excited with!

Please come and say hello! Xx

Heya. Sorry for being so quiet! Sickness has made me rather useless for a fair few weeks but it seems to be getting better now. My scan was today also :). My dates have been moved forward and am 13+1 with my DD being 26/12/2016

Hi just joining the thread to say hello, I'm due late December 2016. A special hello from me to User because I am 40 and expecting twins as well! Had scan last week, all looks fine, thank goodness. Just waiting for test results now. I still feel sick a lot of the time, can't wait for it to ease off a bit.

Bella1985 · 21/06/2016 19:27

My scan also went well. Smile Sonographer had to jiggle my belly a bit to get the baby to turn over and uncurl but eventually it worked and we got a nice snap! NT was low so hoping for good blood results too. Due date is now 30th december!

happylass · 21/06/2016 20:19

Great news on all the scans!
Congrats alice and welcome to the thread.
Hope those of you feeling grotty start to feel better soon. I'm feeling slightly better this week. Nausea seems to have settled in to first thing in the morning and last thing at night though I'm still really off my food. When they weighed me yesterday I was lighter than before the BFP. DH is now trying to force feed me 24/7 Grin
Stealth the Quad test is apparently what they used to use before the NT test. It has to wait until 16 weeks though for some reason.

Hey everyone. Sorry you guys are feeling so rough, I'm in the same boat as the sickness has been so bad this week. Scan went well. Confirmed I'm 12 weeks today & due date moved to 3rd Jan. I still think it'll be December but whatever happens it's out of my hands. Just got to get harmony results on Thursday. Reassuring to see the little bouncy baby.

swancourt · 22/06/2016 09:45

Great news emz - we are due date buddies :)

MagpieCursedTea · 22/06/2016 09:46

Great news on all the recent scans!

Emz32 · 22/06/2016 13:00

Lovely to hear all the great news. Through the vomiting & tiredness. Oh that's exciting Swan, love having a due date buddy. The whole growing a baby & having a baby is so amazing. It's so cool what the female body does. Finally starting to believe I'm having a baby... 😬

sueevone · 22/06/2016 21:33

I've just had a look at the February and March threads, they are full of excitement. Although I'm glad to be past the uncertainty, I miss the excitement of it all- not that I'm not excited now but it's settling in more and more each day.

swancourt · 22/06/2016 21:54

Ah it'll get way more exciting again soon :)

I was just thinking today how much nicer it is now I don't log in fearing bad news, because people's pregnancies are nicely imbedded and going well now :)

Clarebear83 · 22/06/2016 22:17

Hi, I'm due 28 Dec, just had my scan and starting to really feel like it's real! My first baby so exciting and scary...nice to emeet everyone!

Bella1985 · 22/06/2016 22:47

I agree swancourt there was a time when everyday there was yet another post with bad news and it really hit home how high the MC rates are during the early stages (as a total newbie I had no idea so many ended in MC) it's really nice hearing good news now and hope that some of us early ones can comfort those still waiting especially when scary things like symptoms dissappear - like they did with me - but all looked perfect on the scan so it isn't always a bad sign. Soon we'll have even better news of moving out of 1st trimester and getting the energy, lovely hair & nails and the so called 'glow' Smile

happylass · 22/06/2016 23:04

Hi Clare, great news on the scan - same due date as me Smile
First day of the second trimester for me and very much looking forward to the so called glow too. Absolutely wiped out today and full of cold sores and eczema. Attractive!!

Emz32 · 24/06/2016 14:55

Harmony results were all low risk. Feeling very relieved. Amazing the detail they go into compared to the NHS 12 week scan I had. Got a different due date of 2nd Jan. Not feeling quite so sick today but so tired. How's everyone else doing? Starting to get excited now/let myself get excited. This might actually be happening. Had my first pregnancy yoga class lastnight which was great. Hoping it will help me with sciatica type pain iv been getting.

Bella1985 · 25/06/2016 08:18

emz great news on the harmony results! Can I ask, did you do yoga before pregnancy? I hear a lot of people do pregnancy yoga but I've never done yoga apart from following a short you tube video for a week so not sure if its suitable for novices?!

Emz32 · 25/06/2016 08:47

Thanks Bella. I did it About 10 years ago for a while in my late teens & I did a bit postnatal but I don't think it should matter. It's very gentle & she does a relaxation bit at the end which is lovely. It's gently stretching & breathing techniques really. Maybe see what's about in your area & ask the instructor. I didn't manage to do it with my DS but hoping it helps this time x

Alicekeach · 25/06/2016 08:54

Not feeling so great here, I'm afraid. The NHS triple test has put me at "high risk" for Downs (1in 80) although everything looked fine on the scan. I assume it's a combination of my age / something in the blood results that's pushed my risk up.

I had a Harmony test done last week so am hoping that I get a better result from that. The waiting is awful.

MagpieCursedTea · 25/06/2016 09:09

Alice I hope you get your harmony results soon. Waiting for anything like that is very stressful. Did they tell you when you might find out?

Alicekeach · 25/06/2016 09:27

Middle of next week, hopefully. Am booked in for a CVS on the NHS on Friday, but if the Harmony result is good, I'll probably cancel the CVS.

Emz32 · 25/06/2016 10:10

I hope you don't have to wait long Alice. Although any wait feels long. Are the tests any different when you have twins? I'm guessing not but not sure. It's all so stressful & worrying.

Bella1985 · 25/06/2016 10:23

Sorry to hear about your worries alice. Hoping the weekend flies by for you and the result comes back soon and they're good. Flowers

Alicekeach · 25/06/2016 10:41

Emz as far as I understand it (which isn't very far!), the tests are the same with twins but if there is a problem, the Harmony test won't tell me which twin is affected or whether it's both of them.

stealthbanana · 25/06/2016 11:57

alice Flowers try to remember that a risk of 1 in 80 equates to less than 1.3% chance of something being wrong. That's about the same as our chance of miscarriage at this point, and every doctor says "don't worry about it, the chances are incredibly low". So whilst I know it's stressful, remember that those numbers are still v v much on your side.

Alicekeach · 25/06/2016 12:02

Thanks, I am trying to hold onto that thought. Also that my consultant warned me that the NHS test might give me a high risk result due to my age (hence going for Harmony). I kind of wish I'd not bothered with the triple test now and just done the Harmony. Oh well.

Emz32 · 25/06/2016 20:32

Alice try not to be too hard on yourself. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Keeping fingers crossed for a good result for you soon.
