Hello,

So couldn't see a January baby post (probably because no one is mad enough to POAS as early as me!)

Anyway, I thought I would start one (waves). I am 28, this will be DC#2 making my 4 year old DS a big brother which he has been so excited about becoming (we haven't told him yet though as very early days!) I am roughly around 4 weeks and we're not planning on telling anyone for ages so thought I would start a thread so I have someone to get excited with!

Please come and say hello! Xx

Thank you stealth, I'm hoping soon I can be normal again. Grin

happylass · 17/06/2016 06:34

Congrats sueevone. Noticed the hospital name on your scan pic. Your only a few miles away from me!
Welcome sue. Sorry you feel rubbish. I agree that 9 weeks is a low point. I started to feel a bit more human around 11 weeks.

LucySB123 · 17/06/2016 08:17

Anyone started wearing maternity bras yet? It's getting a little snug in the boob area, I cannot believe it. I'm only 11 weeks! They'll be the size of a house by the end of pregnancy Confused time to dig out the old maternity clothes

MagpieCursedTea · 17/06/2016 08:22

Lucy I've been wearing my old nursing bras for comfort but should probably get fitted for some proper maternity bras.

Dueindecember2016 · 17/06/2016 09:01

I'm getting measured up next week for a bra. I think I've 'popped' today at 13 weeks. We are going to buy our 1st baby bits tomorrow. Exciting!

happylass · 17/06/2016 09:47

I'm completely flat chested and my boobs haven't grown at all. Angry that this pregnancy bonus has totally passed me by! and a little worried that this may mean all is not well

stealthbanana · 17/06/2016 09:53

God mine have suddenly popped in the last week too. They are huge! They don't keep getting bigger do they? 😳 I'm usually what you'd describe as "neat busted" - I'm not used to having these enormous bulging melons! Have a wedding this weekend and can't get into half my formal wear just because of the boob area!

happylass · 17/06/2016 09:55

EnvyEnvyEnvy

stealthbanana · 17/06/2016 10:01

Don't be Envy, be Smile. It's a drag - clothes don't fit properly and if you're small chested you (like me) have no idea how to dress for big boobs!

LucySB123 · 17/06/2016 10:12

stealthbanana mine did! I am usually a B but went up to CC/DD when breastfeeding DD1 Shock Gahh.
I can just about fit into my dresses with back zips but side zips are a no-no for the past week. can't breathe!
What's the practice with 12 week scan/test, do we get blood test results back immediately? I was previously consultant / hospital-led due to perceived higher risk pregnancy and we got NT and blood tests results immediately. Now I am midwife led as pregnancy 1 was mostly fine and textbook and don't know what to expect. Am going on a holiday the day after scan, I don't want to be wondering and worrying.

stealthbanana · 17/06/2016 10:41

Oh no! I was hoping this would be it until delivery (don't mind going massive for the first bit post birth). They keep growing? I was a c/d cup (but on a small frame so don't look big) and j reckon I've gone up 2-3 sizes but on the same frame size. And they're all swollen and pert. I look like a surgically enhanced webcam girl!

No idea about blood tests I'm afraid. Am sure one of the others can help though

broodymamma · 17/06/2016 10:47

Hi Ladies,
Just hit 10 weeks so am going to try out my intelligender kit. Anyone else tried it? I have 5 girls so it's easy to guess what we are hoping for.Smile

I would like to join the face book group if that's ok. Just not sure how to..... Please adviseSmile

MagpieCursedTea · 17/06/2016 11:08

At my hospital, it takes a couple of weeks to get the results through the post if everything is okay. If there's a problem, you get a call within 48 hours.

happylass · 17/06/2016 11:52

Lucy I think it probably depends on your area. I'm consultant led but I was told the results take 10 days. Though I'm guessing you'd hear sooner if there was any cause for concern.
Stealth I'm not wishing for massive bazookers - just a little something would be nice Grin. I feel if I have to put up with the nausea and tiredness then I should at least get some of the perks too!
Broody I'm very interested in this gender test! All being well on Monday I'm going to try to talk DH in to an early gender scan though so I may just have to wait until then!

Hi guys Im also due in December, had my scan yesterday discovered Im expecting twins on 21st of December! Help! A little bit in shock! Anyone else expecting multiples....? Im feeling a little overwhelmed! x

LucySB123 · 17/06/2016 15:06

user twins? Massive massive congratulations!Smile My DH would have loved twins (he wants 3kids). Are they your first pregnancy? I have quite a few friends with twins and they tell me it's hard to start with, but you'll get used to it, and always ask for help, no shame in hiring a mothers help/ mat nurse in the first few weeks if required. There's an organisation for twins (Tamba) it's like NCT for parents of multiples.

sueevone · 17/06/2016 17:34

Happylass it's a small-ish world :). Which hospital have you chosen if you don't mind me asking?

Bella1985 · 17/06/2016 17:42

user congrats on the twin news! I was secretly hoping for twins but at an early reassurance scan there was only one! There must be a thread on mumsnet for twins! I think there's at least one (called notaclue I think) in the december thread expecting twins too. Don't dissapper from here though, it will be great to keep up with your journey!

I'm also curious about the blood results as waiting two weeks sounds awful, especially when family is expecting us to announce it widely after the scan. I'm hoping NHS Wales also call within 2 days if its high risk as I think some in England do that, but things could be different here...

user1466109068 · 17/06/2016 17:44

Thanks LucySB123. I have a 18 year old daughter already, so am an older mum at the grand age of 41.... and I know where youre coming from over the maternity bras. Have made a trip to M&S to find Ive gone up two sizes and a cup size!! They are humungus and Im only at week 13! I hate it!

sueevone · 17/06/2016 17:46

Lucy & Bella I am midwife lead and had my scan and bloods yesterday. Was told if there is an issue I'll get a call within 5 working days. If all is well should get a letter within 2 weeks. Not sure if it's the same with NHS England as I live in Wales but hope it gives some idea.

user1466109068 · 17/06/2016 17:47

Thanks Bella1985 I will check that out too x

Dueindecember2016 · 17/06/2016 17:51

I'm in the south east and I had my tests on Monday. They said I would receive a phone call by Thursday if there was anything to worry about. If all is ok I'll get a letter in the post in 5 working days.

I'm going to one of the expectant parents evenings at mothercare soon, any reviews from any of you?

MagpieCursedTea · 17/06/2016 18:12

I went to one of the expectant parents evenings at Mothercare when I was pregnant with DS. I quite enjoyed it, didn't buy anything but got a better idea of the kind of pushchair I wanted.

Bella1985 · 17/06/2016 18:20

Thanks sueevone that will probably be similar for me as I'm in Wales too.

dueindecember the mothercare thing sounds really interesting. If everything goes well at my scan next week and bloods come back ok I might look to see if my local mothercare has something similar.
