Wow! Thread number three.

need, I think half of us are going to end up in October!

CakeAndChocolate · 26/04/2016 12:16

Congrats need!
I'm having an ELCS which on current dates will put me at 31st Oct, dates likely to change at scan on Thursday though. Think there will be a few October babies and hopefully not too many December babies who are overdue!

Thanks guys! Just waiting on bloods results now before we can announce in the next week or so... Still q long way to go but lovely to have said our first hellos to our little bean

Thurlow · 26/04/2016 13:00

We told DD(4) last night. She's absolutely over the moon Smile She's been asking questions nonstop - what does it eat? is it happy or sad? will it like her? can she help feed it? She keeps stroking and kissing my tummy, said goodnight and good morning "to the baby", and told me off for bending over in case I squash it!

I'm tired, I'm still sick, I'm belching for England, but sometimes you remember why you are doing it and it's all worth it...

CakeAndChocolate · 26/04/2016 13:11

Thurlow that's so sweet!

Spindelina · 26/04/2016 13:25

Awww! Is your DD starting school in September? My DD(3) is, so it's going to be all change this autumn.

pitterpatterrain · 26/04/2016 13:26

Just had our scan today, all is well EDD 6th November Grin

almondbutter · 26/04/2016 13:47

Thurlow that is LOVELY, what a sweetheart. Sounds like she'll be a great sister.

Thurlow · 26/04/2016 13:52

Yes she is, about six weeks before the baby is due so hopefully she'll be settled in enough not for it to seem like we've chucked her out to make room for the baby!

Thurlow · 26/04/2016 14:17

Congrats pitter!

pitterpatterrain · 26/04/2016 14:37

Thanks! Still haven't told DD. She's younger at 2.5 so not sure whether it makes sense to tell her when it's a bit more obvious as I imagine November to her is a world away. Anyone any experience on that?

CakeAndChocolate · 26/04/2016 15:28

Congrats pitter. No idea re telling older siblings, my DS is 2 so I was planning to tell him much much later on as I don't think he wild fully understand just yet anyway. I also haven't told anyone else so don't want him to spill the beans just yet!

pitterpatterrain · 26/04/2016 15:53

Yes. Her wandering around telling everyone on the bus that mummy has a baby in her belly is likely best avoided. She tells everyone everything anyhow! Grin

Thurlow · 26/04/2016 15:57

I have to say that while DD is really excited and understands well, even at 4.3 she doesn't grasp how long this is going to take. Even though she kind of understands seasons and when school starts, so we could explain that she's got to go through all of spring and summer and start school before the baby comes, you can see that it's not really clicked totally. So I'd leave it a while for a younger child, I think.

Spindelina · 26/04/2016 16:13

We will tell our DD when we are ready to tell everyone else, basically because we would rather she heard it from us. She's old enough that she'll cotton on if she overhears things.

We need to move her bedroom to make way, which we are planning to do as a 4th birthday 'big girl' thing - new Frozen duvet cover etc, absolutely unconnected in any way to the baby, no sirree - so we're relying on the seemingly eternal time between her vacating her current room and it being needed, and the self-centered nature of preschoolers that means she will truly believe it's all about her!

fuzzywuzzy · 26/04/2016 16:26

Hello everyone, just catching up on the thread. Cofnrstulations to everyone who has had their twelve week scans :) FuzzyO I hope it puts your mind more at ease now.

I've been ill and shaky and nauseous, really overdid it at the weekend, I keep thinking I have no symptoms but the second I skip a meal don't get enough sleep I really feel sick.

As for telling siblings I told my DC after we had a succesful 6 week scan. My DC are older tho 13 & 11, they're very excited. Eldest wants a brother youngest has agreed to change nappies (maybe depending on how yucky they are 😆).

My routine 12 week scan is on 23rd (I'll be over 13 weeks then) I've got my booking in appointment is on the 5th.
When I hd dc they used to offer two scans one at 12 weeks and one at 16 weeks. I'll find out in the booking in appointment what the routine is now.

I'm on a medical trial tho so have a ten week scan on 16th (when I'll be hopefully just a little over 11 weeks).

Looking forward to getting maternity bits as well, I'm bursting out of my clothes stomach and boobs are not happy in current clothing!

pitterpatterrain · 26/04/2016 16:48

fuzzy I also get shakey and dizzy. Sat in a meeting I can't get out of right now and am so hungry. I find I am eating all the day. They weighed me today Blush

fuzzywuzzy · 26/04/2016 17:02

I've decided I'm going to just constantly eat when I don't I'm out of it for a couple of days and I get horrendous headaches to accompany the shakes & dizziness, I do suffer from low blood pressure tho.

Can you excuse yourself to go to the ladies and grab a banana or something? I really feel for you, I have been known to go into meeting armed with biscuits and decaf tea, I can't not eat makes me feel horrendous.

I had a weigh in at my 6 week scan, I've put on a stone. I don't care right now I'm too busy not passing out everywhere & functioning on a basic level!

pitterpatterrain · 26/04/2016 17:39

Finally escaped!
I took snacks in but not enough. I need to plan better as when I don't have good snacks I end up grabbing something chocolate / sugary as a rapid hit.

pitterpatterrain · 26/04/2016 17:46

One thing that has surprised me tbh about booking yesterday and scan today is that as a result I may be seen more often this time for DC2 than before!

Been referred to the consultant, VBAC clinic, another one for risk of early delivery.

Feel quite cared for Smile, was perhaps expecting to tootle on with many fewer appointments.

FuzzyOwl · 26/04/2016 17:50

I am starting pregnancy yoga this weekend Cake so I will let you know whether it is any good. I hope so! My DH is annoying me in bed as well - why does he need all of his half and his share of the duvet etc?! Angry My new tactic is to go to bed before him and be fast asleep by the time he comes up. So far, it seems to be working well.

Great news need and pitter.

That sounds horrible fuzzy and I hope you start reducing in symptoms soon, although not so much that you worry.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Fedupithink · 26/04/2016 18:34

Congrats to those who have had positive scans today! Such fab news!

I'm 11+2 and have felt pretty good today with the exception of a bit of nausea just before lunch.

I've noticed that my gums have started bleeding a little when I brush my teeth and they look really red and inflamed. I've done some googling which suggests it's normal but it turns my stomach. I take such good care of my teeth, I'm gutted.

tiredmumrighthere · 26/04/2016 18:45

Fedup I had bleeding gums with my last pregnancy, it was horrible and the further I went with the pregnancy the worse it became Shock I was terrified to brush my teeth sometimes because there would be so much blood I was convinced all my teeth would fall out! Hoping I don't have that again Confused and spd because that was a bitch! X

FuzzyOwl · 26/04/2016 19:02

I think it is normal Fedup and no reflection on your dental hygiene. I remember meeting a friend in a coffee shop and her pointing out that my gum had just started to profusely bleed! It was horrible!
