Morning Ladies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Pinktrappedwindjenny · 10/01/2007 18:14

No it was Showofhands.

Sorry twelveyeargap.

Again. (Walks off red faced...)

Has anyone else encountered people constantly saying, 'oh I know such and such who was told she was having a girl and I know someone else who was told it was a boy and it was a girl'?

I am thinking of having a 4d scan just to satisfy myself now.

ShowOfHands · 10/01/2007 18:23

Must be incredibly quick, supposed to be spending time with DH...

Lupins, my scan would have been £70 full price, so a bargain at half price.

Pleased you all like my dress. It cost a whopping £1 in the sales in Matalan. I bought four in different patterns and colours and they are extremely comfy. Bargainous too!

katybumps · 10/01/2007 18:23

i got told ds1 was a girl and he definately wasnt

katybumps · 10/01/2007 18:27

very of perfect bump lw , im definately hiding mine now

aprilmeadow · 10/01/2007 18:59

Yay Jess you are back - we were missing you loads!

Welcome TooManyProjects.

SOH your bump is lovely and neat - love your dress.

Lwatkins your bump is also very nice and neat. Also lovely scan picture.

Have posted a picture of my bump

LupinsBigLump · 10/01/2007 19:28

Jess good to here your ok, I know what you mean, when we go to mums I feel like I am constantly saying "dont touch" "lets move that" "stay where i can see you" it makes a nice break really hard work

SOH thanks, I did see one for £60 in portsmouth but it would probably cost me the differance in train fare, lovely bump and dress btw

katybumps · 10/01/2007 20:02

aprilmeadow your bump is lovely you must be really proud of it

InTheseShoes · 10/01/2007 20:57

Welcome too many projects!

I have some lovely trousers from Next Directory, £16 each with a turndown top and wide legs, really comfy. Also wrap dresses for £12 from new look (not maternity), also, a couple of nice empire line tops (non maternity) and loving H and M for tops too. I want some comfy shoes that are stylish, wore my fave red stilleto cut away side shoes today and was pretty uncomfortable...

My dh started a new job this week, and is away - he's just told me on the phone that he is away all next week too. I know it's not his fault, but I am pretty tired - I work full time, and poor old ds is not having much of a life outside of school at the moment - dash home for a pretty scrappy tea (tonight: bacon, egg, beans and toast; yesterday: pasta, pesto and cheese) and some telly. Plus, as well as all the normal stuff round the house to do, the dishwasher has packed up and I have to do dh's jobs, feeding the cats, emptying the bins etc. ds has been pretty good though, and to be honest, am quite enjoying getting my pjs on when I put ds in bed and surfing the net/watching my choice of telly (mainly Big Brother related). I really am not sleeping well at all, either taking ages to drop off (Monday); waking up early (Tuesday) or both (today)

Jonah, is your nursery named after a tree? If so, it is the sister nursery to mine,on the other side of town.

Frenchsmallfry · 10/01/2007 21:31

hello all, have delivered dh to his hospital bed safely, I hope they look after him, Ohhhh I'm scared but he is excited (weirdo)

Welcome toomanyprojects.

pinkjenny, I hate to tell you this Yes, I know what you mean about the I know so and so,
ME, I was told dd was a ds, have to say I was very shocked when he became she upon birth, I had taken blue babygrows to hospital. We didn't even want to know the sex but the scan women let it slip and then spent ages apologising, but obviously was lying anyway!

AM and SOH, lovely bumps, AM I have to say yours is a lg one.

Pebble, glad ds was better at nursery today, bet you were more worried then he was.

Jess, Yey.................; we were getting worried, so glad to see your back

Unfortunately lg&t's broardband is down tonight, she's not happy about it but it does mean we can talk about her whilst she's not on.

JonahB · 10/01/2007 21:59

Evening all,

Creena, I am intrigued. How did you have an accident with a set of curtains?

SOH, i LOVE your dress too!!!! And I?m loving all the bump photos. I?m sure I?m bigger than all of you put together though

Charley, lolls at your babies having different cravings.

To add to the ladygarden discussions, as I can?t see mine anymore, my lovely beautician sorts me out on a regular basis. I feel quite unsexy enough at the moment without having to worry about overgrowth as well

Pebble, glad DS2?s day went well. It?s so hard at first, isn?t it? If it?s any reassurance to you, when I go and pick up DS from nursery, he trots over to say hello, gives me a cuddle, then toddles off back to play with whatever toy is currently holding his attention, whilst I do all the book signing requirements. He is very happy there indeed.

Jess, welcome back!!!! Good to see you again?..

Intheseshoes, yes, that?s the one!! Think there are 2 sister nursery?s now. If it's the one next to a fab hotel/pub then I really liked that one too. It was ?eeny meeny..? between the 2 of them. Sorry to hear about DH being away. Working full time, coming home knackered, trying to spend quality time with DS without falling asleep, then having to do all the daily jobs is not fun AT ALL. I do empathise.

On the lunch discussion, I was a bit of a pigger today (which somehow makes a change from every other day?!?)I ate a bag of crisps at about 11:30 to see me over to lunchtime. Lunch was one of those "Sushi to Share" boxes from Tesco. Meant for 2 people. Goes without saying I ate the whole box myself. Sharing, my a*se.....

toomanyprojects · 10/01/2007 22:22

Thanks very much for all the welcome messages - thought I'd join in with the bump photos on the member profiles thread - anyone on their first pregnancy - this is the shape you might get come number 3! - in my defence DD took the photo!

One question - when people say "you're carrying very high" - is that a polite way of saying "not the neatest bump I've ever seen?!)

Pebblemum · 10/01/2007 23:04

Just seen your bump and im embarassed to say its identical to mine but im only 21wks This is my third baby too.

I have found my camera leads but cant get a decent photo on my own so will have to wait until the morning and will try to post it at some point tomorrow

I have just eaten a coronation tuna sarnie (it was weight watchers tuna, i dont want to get fat lol)and it was lovely. Only problem is i now fancy another one but its a bit late and if i give in im bound to lie in bed with heartburn all night

Ds2 had such a good time today he has been on a high all night and would not sleep, just kept saying he wanted to go to school or telling me what he got up to there (over and over again!!) He finally dozed off about an hour ago Good job he goes to the afternoon sessions as i cant see him waking up too early tomorrow

I think im going to go to bed before my craving for another sarnie gets the better of me. Night all

Oh and welcome back Jess!!

Pebblemum · 10/01/2007 23:07

Hope my post about my bump didnt come across wrong, just re-read it and not sure if it sounds funny. I meant it to mean that i look the same size but am 3wks behind you so now i feel huge, the way its growing i will be twice your size in 3wks Just wanted to clear that up. Right im off now night!!

notsolilKel · 11/01/2007 08:55

Hello all and good (windy) morning to you...
We're off for DS's "8 mo" check (he's 10mo old tomorrow ) and later we're visiting a nursery to see if it will work for 1 afternoon a week.

Just wanted to check in & say hi - anyone heard from MKG? Starting to wonder about her..?

Redken & Creena good luck at your scans today!! 8 days till mine...

Creena · 11/01/2007 09:28

Hi everyone! Weather is really awful round by me - high winds and torrential rain. I really thought that the windows were going to be blown in last night!

Jessinwa - great to see you back! Glad to hear you and munch are ok, if having to dodge glass cabinets full of delicate ornaments!

Jonah - it was a stupid accident and I feel really stupid for having done it, so I'm saying no more!

LilKel - thanks for the good wishes! I had my scan a bit earlier than planned, though (on Tuesday). All was well - such a relief. Didn't find out the flavour, though.

Bobba was really active last night. Kept me awake between 1 and 2 am with lots of kicking and bouncing about. It felt as though he/she was treating my uterus like a swimming pool!

Have also noticed the lack of MKG round these parts during the last couple of days. Hope she's ok. I think it was yesterday that she had her scan, wasn't it? Sending good vibes her way.

Juicylucytoo · 11/01/2007 10:04

Just wanted to say hello. Don't think I've been on this year. Happy New Year!!

It's been all go. Just got back from Mexico. Was only there 24hours for work. Madness.

We've put an offer in on a house and it's been accepted! Now having a mad panic at spending copious amounts of money. What if the property market collapses? Makes me shiver just thinking about it!!

I still haven't felt pod move. I am now 20wks+2. As it's my first is it still normal not to feel movement yet? 20wk scan is next week, so all will be revealed, just panicking I guess.

Pebblemum · 11/01/2007 10:54

With your first baby it takes longer to feel the baby kick, your LO is probably moving around like mad in there but until you have experienced it its hard to recognise. With your 2nd.3rd,4th etc you know what you are looking for so you notice the movement earlier. I wouldnt worry, i didnt feel ds1 move until about 25wks when out of the blue he suddenly booted me, that was a shock i tell you

Juicylucytoo · 11/01/2007 11:06

Thanks PM, just me being paranoid pg person. Seems to define me these days

BefnalBub · 11/01/2007 11:11

JL we've got to find a way of recognising each other on Tuesday morning - your scan is at the royal london at 9am too, right?

RedKennedy · 11/01/2007 11:22

Morning.. lets see if this works.. before I start rabbiting..

RedKennedy · 11/01/2007 11:23

SKYTVADDICT · 11/01/2007 11:26

Lovely bumps everyone.

DP was a little surprised last night when DD1 asked him to to photograph my bump then work out how to get it on here. He said are you sure its the done thing!

We are going to try at the weekend so I will show him all yours then.

Good luck with any up and coming scans

cinnamontam · 11/01/2007 11:27

Hey JuicyLucy - I'm almost 21 weeks and felt Bean move for the first time 2 nights ago. Basically I'd been going to sleep around 10.30 each night. 2 nights ago had to pull a late one for work then couldn't sleep so lay on my back in bed reading for an hour. Was about midnight. I gave my belly a few pokes, lay the flat of my hand on it, pushed down and could feel an annoyed kick back. Got very excited and called DH who tried to feel something. Last night i was lying in bed late again and could feel all sorts of gymnastics going on and when DH put his hand there could feel it too. It's obviously been happening for a bit I've just been sleeping through it. I don't feel anything through the day but at night it's all happening. Maybe if you are up late an hour or 2 after dinner, try lying flat for a bit and without the poking (that was a bit mean) see if you can feel anything.

Good luck

largeginandtonic · 11/01/2007 12:07

Phew...my broadband is working again, felt all alone last night

Welcome back Juicylucy and Jess, we have all been asking where are you's!

Even im doubting the willy we saw on the screen now, she could see it first of all then when she looked again she couldnt?!

The lady garden.....im s bit of a wuss when it comes to that issue. I am desperate to get the whole lot waxed except a landing strip (hollywood?) Do you have to be pantless, how much does it hurt and how much does it cost and how often do you need it done? Sorry too many questions, just not got a clue! Can barely see it either now so not brave enough to attempt any kind of home attempt could get nasty.

Where are you MKG? Will start shouting soon.....you should be awake by now and posting telling us all about the TV show. COME ON....

Have just been to Asda and now my back is killig me, it's bloody trollies that do it, and the lugging 14million bags in to the car...out of the car...in to the cupboards...grrrr

FSF HA! No one talked about me.....perhaps they are scared of the KK rage that is LG&T!

Am off to look at all the lovely bumps in member profiles now

JonahB · 11/01/2007 12:45

Juicy, flying all the way to mexico for 24 hours! Poor you. I had to fly to Vegas for 3 days a couple of months ago for work, and that tough, but not as bad as that! Congrats on the house offer being accepted. Will you be looking to move before or after May? Good luck!!!! Oh and with my 1st, I didn?t feel anything until 22 weeks. I was beginning to worry too, but it?s perfectly normal. The books scare you by telling you that it happens at 20, so when it doesn?t, you start to worry?.

Creena, sorry, didn?t mean to embarrass you there??

LG&T ? I don?t do the landing strip thing, but I take quite a bit off. I wear a thong (poor, poor beautician ? it?s not a good look ). If you want to keep on top of it, you need to do it every 3-4 weeks. It used to hurt a lot at first, but I think I?m getting used to it, so it?s not so bad any more. I can?t remember how much I pay cos I get a few things done, I think it?s between £5-£10.
