I know exactly what you mean. It is getting better but very gradually. I was hoping it would be better by 14 weeks but that has been and gone. I'm lucky that my job is Monday to Friday 9-5 just sitting in front of a computer all day. But it is difficult to deal with dd when she's being a pain. I found myself having no patience with her when the nausea was really bad. I ended up leaving dh to deal with everything. He really resented it but I think he thought I was making it out to be worse than it was. It was an effort just to get out of the arm chair.

washingqueen · 26/02/2007 16:34

Hi, would it be ok if I joined up?

My EDD is 1/8/07 (I have already lost track of how many weeks pregnant I am....slack I know !! This is my 2nd preg, I am 30, ds is 19 mths, I live in Worcester.

MS has mostly passed for me now, although I do still have my moments...like when DH served me up a plate of steaming cabbage last night (urgh the smell)

Mrsshuvel · 26/02/2007 17:26

Hi Everyone

Could i join too my EDD is 14/08/07. This is my first and really excited. Have bored all my friends to death with talk of sore boobs and MS so would be great to talk to people experiencing the same thing.

I live in London and am under St Thomas' Hospital and i have a male midwife which i thought was going to be a bit strange but i think he is great.

Just this week have been bursting into tears for absolutely no reason and think i felt the baby move on saturday but not completely sure. The dog felt it too as she was laying with her head across my belly and shot up in suprise. Although my boyfriend said this could possibly have been wind!

conkertree · 27/02/2007 11:14

morning everyone - hello to mrsshuvel and washingqueen.

back from our weekend in crieff - was good fun - purplerabbits ds (2) thought he'd moved to a new house with a massive new garden which was very cute but just hope he wasn't too disappointed when he got home again.

next holiday not till may so will need to book something soon so i can start looking forward to it - very jealous of all those of you currently sunning yourselves in spain etc.

hope everyone is having a good week - although the weather here is so rubbish its harder to be cheerful and bouncy. going on a hen weekend to the lake district this weekend so that will be interesting being the only one not drinking.

Hersetta · 27/02/2007 13:11

Hi onkertree,

I'm back from my 3 days in Sapin. Had a lovely time and the weather was fantastic (26 degrees) so i even have a very nice suntan. Only bad things was my DH being rushed to hopital 6 hours after I left with internal bleeding that was so bad he needed a 3 pint transfusion, so was very worried for a while. He's out of hospital now and seems to be recovering well.

Bought a couple of spanish babygrows back with me as i haven't seen the design they use over here (crossover design with poppers down one side so nothing needs to go over baby's head) and as they were only 8 euros for 4 i thought i'd get a few. Back to Sapin for Easter with my Mum and then going to the Maldives in May for what will be our last child free holiday!!!

Hersetta · 27/02/2007 13:12

oops missed the 'c'. obviously should have been conkertree !!

peanuthead · 27/02/2007 13:20

Hello
Mrsshuvel - I'm at st thomas's too, it seems lovely every time I've been in (2x for bleeding) and I keep going on to dh about the great view - apparently it's in the birthing rooms too. I haven't got a male midwife but I have been allocated the psychiatric midwife - neither of us knows why but dh suspects they know me rather well..

Welcome back to sunny england, Hersetta. I need a holiday too - having been locked in the flat for 2 months with ms I really need to get out. We're off to Montenegro in 2 weeks - yippee - although the weather there this time of year is a bit on/off, warm and rainy. But lovely mountains and sea. I'm just praying my ms has calmed down by then -it does seem to be getting less but every time I say that I have a bad bout...

conkertree · 27/02/2007 13:37

wow hersetta that must have been horrible being away when your dh was so ill - i hope he's doing ok now - did they work out why it happened?

it is a bit of a thought having last childless holidays this year - as much as i cant wait for august, there is a little bit of me thats very scared about just how much our lives will change. but its just a very little bit of me.

montenegro sounds fantastic too peanuthead. sure that ms will have cleared up - and if not, as some one said earlier, sure its better to be in the sun and relaxing if you have it, than having to go to work etc.

Hersetta · 27/02/2007 14:21

Conkertree

he had an operation (privately) 3 weeks ago today to remove the polyps from up his nose. He was given sterroid tablets to help reduce the congestion and they have made his intestines bleed. His poo (sorry if TMI) has been black for a couple of weeks which we though was a side effect of the drugs but it turned out it was actually blood. Saw the doctor on saturday morning and they called an ambulance straight away to take him to hospital.

Scary stuff.

I know what you mean about August. We love our holidays so giving up our long haul travel 2/3 times a year is going to be hard for us but will hopefully be made up for great holidays to be taken with the baby.

DH was very sweet last night though - he laid on the sofa and kissed my tummy and said he missed me and tad (the bump) loads.

GillL · 27/02/2007 14:31

Your dh sounds lovely Hersetta!

Anyone else feeling movements yet? I have felt very vague movements recently but today it feels like the baby's dancing.

loler · 27/02/2007 15:28

Feeling very jealous of the holiday talk! We're going to a tiny cottage in Cornwall in June - panicking already about fitting everyone and the dog in the car- don't know where this new baby will end up going next year. DH says after August we'll never leave the house again!

Having lots of panics at the moment. The latest one (last night) was we'll never find a name. Has anyone had any ideas yet?

conkertree · 28/02/2007 09:08

That sounds very scary Hersetta - I'm glad he's ok now.

Think we might plan a wee trip to New York for Christmas next year. Want to avoid having to go to the pil, and so a trip to see bil there might be a way out of it, but our May holiday this year will hopefully be to france if we can afford it.

We are pretty set on our girls name, although there are a few on the short list, but boys names are proving to be a bit of a nightmare. I always thought one would just emerge as being a favourite, like it did with girls, but so far, we've tried out lots for a few days at a time and none have been perfect. Still 22 or so weeks to go though I suppose.

stretchmarks · 28/02/2007 10:06

Hersetta - glad to hear your dh is ok now.

We have a girls name sorted but nothing for a boy yet - yet when we were expecting DS1 we had a boys name but no girls option !!!! Hopefully we can find out in a few weeks if we need to get our thinking caps on for a boys name.

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 11:40

Hello all, how are we ??

Hersetta - eeek about your DH getting so sick love, that's awful. Fingers crossed they get things sorted. My DH has had the very same operation and I'd never have thought for one second about something like that happening.

So - on to TT's question of the day. How many of us are planning on finding out what flavour our babies are ?

Am overjoyed at being back from sunny Spain I must say. It was when I nearly got blown off my feet outside the airport last night in the rain that I was feeling particularly happy about things

Hersetta · 28/02/2007 11:50

Hi TT,

no we've never thought of it either and this was the third time he's had this operation as the persistent little buggers keep growing back and he's been fine in the past.

Glad you had a nice time in Spain - i had a lovely time. Couldn't beleive the fantastic weather!.

We are planning to find our our 'flavour' - hopefully at the 20 week scan. i did ask at the 12 week one but they couldn't tell.

pinkranger · 28/02/2007 12:02

Hello everyone,
Gald we are well,
Hope that you two had a lovely time in spain
We are off to Butlins in July ( which i am very excited about - havent been since i was a Kid ) but i will be 33 weeks and going on how i am now i will be MASSIVE! green peace will be trying to drag me back in to the water !!!!!!

I have been having some really big streching pains in the last copule of days but noticed this morning in the shower that the "Bump" has moved up out of my pelvis and not hideing anymore so this was why, ooh the Joys!

On th subject of the day we will find out what this baby is , we have loads of girls names but only 1 boys and i dont think dh is that keen on it but i really like it ...........

Putting it to the vote..........................

Noah ??

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 12:18

Hey Pinkranger - I really like Noah (obviously surname dependent though I guess). How extensive is your girls names list? I only have one for each and am wondering if I should extend the range in case it comes out just not looking like my chosen name.

H - that's strange to have had a reaction the third time of having the op isn't it ? I take it all was done the same way and the tablets were the same as previously ?

Glad am not the only massive one present. Seem to have exploded over the last week/ten days and you're probably right about it being because the baby's moved up Pink. I've got a few more breaks that I'm going on and am now worried that come May I won't even fit on a plane !!

Mrsshuvel · 28/02/2007 12:44

Hi Everyone

Noah's a lovely name. I haven't really thought of any boys names yet. DP is convinced that i'm having a girl. Not sure quite how he's come to that conclusion but has been calling the bump Lily. I wasn't sure about it with all the Lilys about at the moment (Lily Allen and that model) but its starting to stick. Will definitely find out flavour at 20 week scan if i can. I've had a few friends before who haven't been able to find out as the baby was lying in the wrong position.

DP has first driving lesson today. We never bothered with cars before always had motorbikes. This pregnancy has given him the push to do it though as someone is gonna have to get me to the hospital!

Has anyone had any mad cravings yet. At first it was cooled down kettle water but only from our kettle at home. The one at work didn't have quite the same taste. Then it was Angel Delight which i haven't had since i was about seven but only butterscotch or Vanilla and now it's Crunchy Nut Cornflakes with Banana Nesquick on them. I never ate ceral before but i can't get enough of it.

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 13:15

Hahahhahaha sorry Mrsshuvel, am really giggling at your cravings !! I think it's so nuts how much pleasure can be derived from the strangest things The closest I've come was a strange compulsion for wholemeal bread and butter, cherry tomatoes and a pork pie the other month - wtf ?? Was a one off though, no idea what it was all about.

Good for your DP on learning to drive. Can see how riding pillion to hospital to deliver might be awkward (off giggling at this image, am in a very jolly mood obviously!!). Will you give driving a go too when your baby's arrived ?

Mrsshuvel · 28/02/2007 13:31

i know DP is disgusted but is at least glad i'm eating something. I was so sick for a long time and completely went off food.

I will definitely learn to drive once bump has arrived. Can't face too many journeys on public transport especially in London with a pram!!!

conkertree · 28/02/2007 13:47

i cant decide about finding out the flavour. never thought i'd want to but now i'm pg, i would quite like to know. think we wont ask at the scan, but if its obvious - fair enough. if we do find out, wont tell anyone though.

no particular cravings but definately eating more sweet things than usual.

sounds like you should just get yourself a sling mrsshuvel and not bother with a pram for london public transport.

washingqueen · 28/02/2007 13:58

I have been giving a lot of thought to finding out baby flavour this time (was adamant didn't want to know with DS1). I would love to find out but wouldn't necessarily want everyone else to know too (this sounds ridiculous I realise). DH being crap at keeping any kind of secret means we'll probably leave it as a suprise.

Wow, Noah has always been one of my fave boys names...and was considering Lily (such a pretty name) for a girl until my lovely mum pointed out that she was worried it might become too 'common'..uhum, this is the woman who named me 'Emma'....which obviously was highly original

Hersetta · 28/02/2007 14:02

TT,

Yes - everything the same (even the surgeon). maybe he didn't eat enough as we have since been told you have to take them with food as they are well known for causing internal bleeding without food.

I don't seem to be getting much bigger - still in my jeans etc although usually by the end of the day I have to undo the top button.

Just been out for a lovely lunch with a friend at work as it's my birthday today. No celebration with DH tonight though as we really didn't feel like it as we're going tomorrow to the funeral of his best friend who died very unexpectedly last week age 34. We are going to Gordon Ramsay at Claridges for lunch at the weekend though.

tokentotty · 28/02/2007 14:10

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERSETTA !!!!!!!!!

I would sing but think that would be highly unfair on all of you and your delicate unborn children's ears....

God, your DH must be devastated about his friend. Not surprised you don't feel up to celebrating today. It's nice that the two of you have Saturday to look forward to. We had a lovely meal at Claridges for one of our anniversaries and the attention to detail of the staff there impressed us immensely compared to other London restaurants. I really hope you can enjoy it after what's undoubtedly been an incredibly tough week.

Conkertree & Washingqueen, I hear you both regarding finding out and not telling others. I never for one second intended finding out but DH has said he wants to. Seeing as he doesn't really get much of a say on anything else during pregnancy I figured we could do what he wanted (Peanut's positioning at next scan permitted). How hard do you think it'll be to keep it to ourselves though ??

Oh, and laughing at Washingqueen's mum and her names comment....

pinkranger · 28/02/2007 14:12

Happy birthday to you !!!!!!!!

MrsShuval - I am not hungry but now i fancy a bowl of cereal......

I have a few girls name, i love lily but DH hates it we have .......
Madeline
Isabel (izzy)

Harriet
I used to love Darcy but my sister went and called her dog it! - she got the idea from me!!
