Good to know that I dont have to be flat on my back if I dont need/want to.

inside that is so rubbish of them. My hospital did the same thing with my Vitamin D results. And now wont do another test to find out what they actually are. Its very worrying when they mix results up like that. Who knows what else they might miss. I always insist on seeing my reports myself. Maybe try that?

Thanks strawberry. Must have been the baby trying to push his way out if my belly button. Feels much better today. Hope you managed to get some more sleep.

Torf hope you get caught up today on your sleep. Its rubbish.

Just catching up with the thread while waiting to go back in for part two of my GTT. Starving now!!! Next test is at 11:40 so not too much longer left now. Then DH is treating me to lunch out to appologise for forgetting to have cereal instead of toast for his breakfast this morning, when I asked him last night an making the house smell like a bakery this morning, while I was fasting!!!:-( had repeat scan last night to recheck fluid an they look a bit more normal now, but they stil want me back to recheck next week an booked this repeat GTT. Feel very well monitored anyway!! Also had blood test come back clear for OC yesterday, she said bile was 8 I think an 14 was too high? Does that sound right? I think it was bile she said. Anyway she said to repeat it in a week or two if I stil

My bloods show that I' m anaemia even though I take iron tablets (and eat a wheelbarrow load of spinach every day) and that my liver and kidney function is reduced, hopefully its just a blip and my next set will be better (results later today).

Have calmed down a little now and making a final list of things for hospital bag ( and clothing list to buy for dd as she has woken up half an inch taller again)

I did get back to sleep eventually! Tired today though!

Yay for finishing work clarish Smile I'm counting down the days now - once today's over I've got 11 more working days - going to talk to my manager tomorrow and see if can work from home for a few of them as I've handed a lot of day to day stuff over already.

MollieRos · 21/04/2016 17:55

I ended up being sent to the hospital for a growth scan yesterday- my bump measurement at my 34 week appt had dropped from above the 90th centile to below the 50th. The midwife did say she wasn't actually worried as she thought my bump still looks a good size, but in combination with me losing weight I needed to get it checked out. The scan was all good- some measurements slightly small for dates but nothing to be concerned about.

I also got told off for still going on little walks (about the only activity I am still doing) as my braxton hicks go crazy whenever I do anything. When I walk anywhere I just get one long tightening which doesn't ease off, which is really unpleasant. She basically said I need to stop doing stuff which increases my braxton hicks because of the risk of early labour, which is slightly limiting as doing anything at all increases them!

iamdivergent · 21/04/2016 19:37

Not ideal Mollie

bikingintherain · 21/04/2016 20:26

I think my midwife my tell me off for the same reason too Mollie. But the thing is, life still continues, and you can't just stop and do nothing for the next 7 weeks or so!

I've got the heated bean bag things that you put in the microwave coming in the post tomorrow. It means that although I have no nappies etc, I do have everything I want for labour. I figure if I'm not quite ready for the baby someone can always go out and buy the things I need. But it's not easy to get things for labour last minute. Warped logic I'm sure but I'm starting to feel a little bit more ready!

nehagarg · 21/04/2016 20:42

Mollie biking I had no idea. Shock. I havent had any braxton hicks except my tummy getting super tight when I walk. Had been walking to and fro from the office which is about 45 minutes. Thats the only exercise I have. Sad

Glad al was well at the scan though Mollie.

bikingintherain · 21/04/2016 21:14

I don't think it's bad to be doing some exercise. I think your supposed to just let your body dictate what and how much. I've definitely been at points where the Braxton hicks have been very prolonged and painful at points. I think I've decided to stop biking now. (I still have to do the 3 flights of stairs mind!)

MollieRos · 21/04/2016 21:15

biking exactly! I suppose it makes sense to avoid things I'm specifically doing like little walks (though that will mean I'm getting no exercise at all!) but any kind of moving around makes them worse. I can't just lie around doing nothing for the next 6 weeks! She told me I had an irritable uterus, which explains all the braxton hicks I've been getting apparently. I still need to do some googling on that one! And heated bean bag thing is such a good idea. I've made rice hand warmers in the past (same theory- just bung them in the microwave) so perhaps I'll make myself a big one of those.

The consultant at my scan also told me the baby is head down, but back to back, so now I'm trying to spend my time either upright or leaning forward. I don't know if he's likely to turn by himself anyway, but if I can do anything to help him along then that'd be good!

bikingintherain · 21/04/2016 21:22

I had an irritable uterus with DS, and I suspect I have it now. To be honest I think it's just a name for something they're not really sure about, I was never given much information on it before and I googled it the other day and there isn't a lot of information out there either. I did go to to 42 weeks with DS too, so it doesn't even mean you give birth earlier necessarily! I think they just like you to be careful which does make sense I suppose.

DS was also back to back, he turned during labour, the midwife was very encouraging of good positions to be in, and my labour with him was easier than DD. So try not to worry too much!

GenevaJoey · 21/04/2016 21:41

I had an interesting antenatal class today! The midwife was German and the hospital she works at is Swiss, and she said that while in English speaking countries they encourage the kegel exercises (pelvic floor exercises) during pregnancy, it really was not normal on the continent and inoitherr contries as it is volunteer intuitive during labour (ie your pelvic floor needs to relax and CD ant be too strong). It's normal to do a course of "re-educating the perinium" after labour here, which should correct pelvic floor issues. Really interesting for the different approaches and means I will stop feeling guilty for forgetting to do mine!

Really like these classes, not really had chance to speak to the other women but really useful information. Had tour of maternity ward as well, and it all looks quite nice! Where I'm gvng birth you aren't allowed to have a pool birth though, but can do some labouring in the tub/pool. Just have to get out when you start to push! I'm OK with that, as didn't have a real idea of what I wanted anyway. Will need to speak to my gynaecologist about birthing positions, apparently a lot of them like you to be in your back. Not sure what mine thinks. Trying not to worry about it too much, as don't have a fixed idea what I will want at the time anyway.

iamdivergent · 21/04/2016 22:03

Having some serious braxton hicks tonight. Oooft painful! Bouncing on my ball and watching TV.

JellyBaby26 · 22/04/2016 07:37

most back to back bits turn before or during labour so it's not too much to worry about.

I had a nightmare day yesterday. Managed to breakdown when my car over heated and ended up in a car park for 6 hours with a 2.5yr old, 10 month old and 8 week old. We were supposed to be going to a wildlife park but it was so busy as they had a special offer on because of the Queens birthday and then park got to capacity so we waited in the car park all day!! Friend and I are sunburnt and I'm absolutely exhausted!

Tried to tell them I was 7 months pregnant with 2 others in tow and I sill had to wait that long!

And I now have no car and am expecting a hefty bill Angry

JellyBaby26 · 22/04/2016 07:38

Bits = babies!!

iamdivergent · 22/04/2016 08:23

Sounds like a nightmare JellyBaby26

I've forgot my coat so am currently sat at the park before school freezing! Hoping it doesn't rain Hmm

laughingGnomette · 22/04/2016 09:35

Noooooo JellyBaby! What an absolute nightmare! I would have lost it CakeWine

bikingintherain · 22/04/2016 10:25

It's a bit funny isn't it geneva, experiencing a different countries way of doing things. I haven't mentioned pelvic floor to my midwife, I wonder what they would say. But any time I've mentioned things that we do in the UK like vaccines, they look at me like I'm mad!

I hope you have a nice relaxing day today jelly to make up for what sounds like a hideous day yesterday!

ILovePies · 22/04/2016 10:32

Booked how exciting for you to have your date!! Same day as my due date!

Can't believe how close we are all getting, so scary!
Had an antenatal visit from the health visitor yesterday.. She gave me babies red book which is really new! Something else I have to remember!

Hope everyone is feeling okay? Getting to the constantly tired stage. Feet are in agony all the time!!
Mollie if midwife told me not to walk I would be buggered! Don't have a car & have to get DS to school somehow!

nehagarg · 22/04/2016 11:18

Oh wow Jelly. That would have done my head in. I hope you get some feet up time today.

I've been to see consultant today and even though my OC bile acids levels have been normal for the past 3 weeks (only the first ever was slightly higher at 13, normal is 10) - they still want to induce me at 37-38 weeks. Confused

OP posts:
laughingGnomette · 22/04/2016 11:49

nehagarg - did they explain their reasons for this?

nehagarg · 22/04/2016 12:41

laughing they say that since I still have symptoms (mild itching) thry cant be sure whether or not I have OC because symptoms tell one story whereas blood results tell another.

So to be safe they'd rather induce. Since my levels are normal, they might let it go to 38 weeks since there is no hurry for 37. Did some research and apparently bile acid levels canteiple overnight after 37 weeks so that makes a bit more sense too as to why they want to induce me.

Feels weird. Its not set in stone yet but I have suddenly gone from having over a month to 2-3 weeks. Will need the weekend to get my head around it and then will talk to my boss and change my maternity on Monday

OP posts:
nehagarg · 22/04/2016 13:21

*can triple ... No idea what canteiple means Grin
