Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Lara Where are you moving to in Wales?

I've not bought any maternity tights yet and I'm 16 weeks. I think I might need to buy some soon though. If not M&S, where do you get them from? All my normal tights are M&S. I'm going to be living in them for work because I can't find any petite trousers and I've not come across any non-skinny petite jeans either. I like a straight leg, slim fit style - not clinging to my legs!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/04/2016 20:01

I'm going to copy + paste your positive comments jam and co5mo so that I can keep reading them and reminding myself! Dh thinks it might be time to consider an early scan to settle me a bit.

co5mo I'd heard that h&m maternity leg things were quite good.

LaraG13 · 14/04/2016 20:34

starky I totally understand your anxiety. But at 8 weeks there's something like a 95-97% chance that you'll have your baby in your arms later this year. Those are massive odds!! High enough that you can and should allow yourself to believe it's really happening for you.

You're really lucky to have hospitals close by. Where I'm moving to the MLU option is about 45 mins from a hospital which seems too far for me to be comfortable, and I'm too scared for a home birth, so I feel like the maternity ward is my only option. leonie I'm moving near Bridgend, where my OH is from. Are you in Wales?

Thanks lillian. I'm sure we'll have a couple of lovely photos to compare tomorrow.

Anyone else going down the second hand route for baby stuff? I'm hoping to get almost everything except mattress and car seat second hand.

leoniethelioness · 14/04/2016 20:41

Lara I'm in Cardiff. I don't know Bridgend very well but it's not far away from me. A few people from work live that way and in Cowbridge - they all seem to like it! Have you got a new job too or will you be a SAHM? Exciting times ahead!

leoniethelioness · 14/04/2016 20:44

Oh, and I'm hoping to get what I can from eBay, nearly new sales and car boots. I think I will buy a new pram, car seat, mattresses and furniture. I need to furnish my spare room so I'm buying adult stuff which I can just use with the baby while he or she is small. I'm eyeing the Hemnes range from Ikea - some great pics on Pinterest of nurseries with the chest of drawers and other bits from the range.

BunchOfBobs · 14/04/2016 20:44

Oh I got all excited then Lara and Leonie thinking someone might be near me. I'm in Powys in the back end of beyond.

leoniethelioness · 14/04/2016 20:50

Sorry, Bunch! Pretty part of the country though. My grandmother was born and grew up there, and her little village is lovely even now. We have a decent Welsh contingent on here then!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/04/2016 20:57

leonie lara dh is a Rhondda valleys boy. We moved up from Cardiff lady year! Small world!

I'm going to work on believing it!

Co5mo · 14/04/2016 21:05

Leonie that's exactly why I bought the M&S tights. Struggling to find shorter length trousers for work but ironically the tights are too short. Next has some petite lengths in their maternity range but I haven't had a close look on the website yet. Failing that the sewing machine will come out.

Pinklily1 · 14/04/2016 21:16

Hi ladies

On the maternity tights, if you look online the m&s ones get awful reviews. I normally get all of my tights there but have avoided them for that reason. I've heard that the ASOS ones are good though.

I'm 20+2 and still in normal tights, but they are getting a bit restrictive!

Hope the scans have gone well for the ladies who have had them today.

Morwenna1 · 18/04/2016 17:58

Are there no more posts since Thursday? Or is MN playing up? Was wondering how the scan went Potato?!

I've been away all weekend and so I have no idea what's been happening. As usual.

Off to Aquanatal in a mo! Will try and catch up soon.
