Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!

Runner05 · 21/03/2016 12:33

Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Pyxie · 21/03/2016 19:59

Pyxie, 29, 6+6 and the nausea kicked in yesterday, think it's mostly just indigestion though, rennies and dry crackers are my new best friends!

Lovely scan pictures Lauren, Bunch and First! It's amazing to see the different stages!

LittleBelle90 · 21/03/2016 20:08

Great scan photos everyone. I love seeing them. Congrats on the boy bunch
I'm currently 14+5 and still suffering with morning sickness all day!

Laurenrl · 21/03/2016 20:10

Leonie, I know!! So excited after the scan, it's crazy how my mood has changed now I can talk about it with whoever I want :)

Pinklily1 · 21/03/2016 20:16

Lovely scan pic First!

Sorry to hear people are feeling unwell. Can you keep cereal down ok Miley? Might make the constipation ease a bit if you can get some fibre in.

Pyxie, a few of my friends have ended up lugging Gavison from the bottle!

Pyxie · 21/03/2016 20:39

Yep, that was me yesterday Pink Blush

Planeteer · 21/03/2016 20:44

Bunch!! What a cracker of a photo. Your son (!!!!) is a poppet.

Checking in.
Planet, age 29, baby no 1. Currently 9+4 and harbouring an eastern tailed blue butterfly (I found the 'weird but cute animals' section of Ovia, can you tell?!)

Have been pretty lucky with sickness thus far, but symptoms ramping up over the last few days. Perhaps destined to head out of the first trimester with a bang and a sick bag . Urgh.

Runner05 · 21/03/2016 21:37

Lol Stark we've all been waiting for you to join the dark side Wink

Aww Miley you've had a shit time even by my standards. Hopefully it will improve soon unless your sore bum hole is piles... They're fun Hmm

Aww, First that's a lovely photo.

Well I've got to the stage where every time I eat it take a conscious effort not to regurgitate when I burp. It's delightful Envy

Lovely scans bunch and first!

Lillian 36 with a 9+6 stowaway named Bee

Booking in appointment tomorrow and sneaky private scan on Thursday - couldn't possibly survive Easter break without seeing more than the happy heartbeat seen at 6+6!!

Crazy bloated and crampy and feeling as if I'm jetlagged 😴

leoniethelioness · 22/03/2016 06:48

Lauren We finally told out families at the weekend who were all really pleased for us. I'm going to tell a few close friends this week and probably work after Easter when it becomes obvious my expanding waistline is due to a baby and not Easter eggs. Have you told everyone now?

Laurenrl · 22/03/2016 07:52

Awww glad your families were all happy!! I've been so happy at reactions so far, the first time I get a 'aren't you a bit young?' or something similar I won't know what to do!!

We told our parents early on (6 weeks) as I had a big bleed and wanted my mum's support and advice. Then it was only fair to tell OH's parents too once it was confirmed ok.

I told my boss last week as he's now away until I'm 15 weeks and I am no way still gonna be hidden then! Work don't know in general though as he said he wanted to sort out the HR stuff himself rather than pass to someone else so I'll be in baggy clothes for 3 weeks haha.

Yesterday I told a few closer friends but holding off on everyone else as my parents are having a family get together April 10th and I want to tell everyone in person then, including my brother, nan and aunties etc.. Gonna be really hard keeping quiet though!!

So exciting :) hope everyones feeling ok today!

IndiX · 22/03/2016 08:18

Miley you've had such a tough time, I'm really hoping it starts easing off soon for you.
First what a cute little bean.

I'm 11 weeks today which feels like a mini milestone, I have a fig/lime/Brussels sprout/profiterole (can you tell I have a million different pregnancy apps) I think I'm going to go with lime or fig this week though. I'm currently away with friends so can't check in as much, I have eaten SO many carbs yesterday so going to try to make a conscious effort to be healthier the next couple of days.
After I eat (even something small) I have a proper little lower bump, I don't feel cute and pregnant though, just flabby and fat. Anyone else have this? In the morning I'm normal and then as soon as food hits my lips it pops out. I can't wait to have a proper bump so I actually look pregnant and not like I've just put on a few pounds. Also my lower back is agony, definitely need to invest in a pregnancy pillow when I get home.

Co5mo · 22/03/2016 08:18

Checking in.

Co5mo harbouring a 10+5 kumquat or Lego man or .... Ovia is pretty confusing this week!

Lovely scan pictures ladies. Can't wait for mine, I've started counting down the days.

Runner05 · 22/03/2016 09:03

Morning ladies. I'm working from home today so actually get to be comfortable (woohoo!)

Saw OHs DF yesterday and he gave me the money for the pram Grin now I can go and get other essentials Wink

I'm a little worried that DSD was a bit funny about it. She quizzed me about why he was giving me money and when I explained he was giving it to her little brother or sister she said "Oh, it's for the baby" then trailed after her Grandad demanding to know how much the baby was getting. Hmm DSD is very much like her mother in that they are both very money and stuff orientated so I hope she's not starting to get miffed that everyone is buying the baby stuff. I do think it's going to be a big adjustment for her when the baby arrives, she says she's looking forward to it but she's also used to being the centre of attention all the time and I think suddenly not being the baby of the family will be a bit of a shock to her.

God I'm turning into a worry wort! I just don't want the kids upset... All DSS cares about is not having to listen to crying all the time lol

OP posts:
Sodasoda · 22/03/2016 11:32

Morning everyone,

runner it will take time for the kids to get used to it but I'm sure when the new baby arrives they'll love him/her.

I'm feeling a bit worried. I just really don't feel pregnant! I know that some of you will kill me for saying this but stay with me! I had nausea and severe constipation and sore boobs in first trimester but these have all faded now. I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow. I feel like I had more of a bump a few weeks ago when i was really bloated! I just feel normal now. I've got lots of veins round my boobs and my teeth bleed when I brush them but that's it! Is that ok, should I be worried do you think or is it just my stage in pregnancy? I've got a check up appt next week when I'm assuming they'll listen to the heartbeat but that feels like a long time away. Argh! Confused

Pinklily1 · 22/03/2016 11:32

How old is your DSS Runner? I think it's natural for small children to harbour a bit of jealousy towards new babies/ babies in the making.

Runner05 · 22/03/2016 12:21

She's 8 Pink I don't think she'll resent the baby but I do think she'll hate that she won't be centre of attention anymore. For example if her brother is being talked too she will talk over him or try to turn the conversation to herself instead. I know this is learnt behaviour because she is allowed to get away with it at home but I think it'll be a bit of a shock for her.
I also think that from some of the things she's said at the moment she sees Potato as being the same as one of her baby alive dolls that can be ignored when you're bored of it. She has a very short attention span and I'm starting to worry that after the excitement of the first week or two is over she's going to start trying to compete with Potato for attention.
I love my DSD and I don't want her to feel left out or as if she needs to fight for attention but I also know that she's always been the sort of child who wants constant attention and validate. I'm concerned that the more real and less abstract the pregnancy gets the more frustrated she's going to get with having a new sibling she has to share with. Sorry, that was a bit woffly Confused

Soda congratulations, what you've described is how the second trimester is supposed to feel Wink

Just called the doctors surgery to ask what I do now I've found out I'm pregnant and she said I need to wait until I'm 12 weeks and then fill out an online referral form for the midwife who will then start to contact me about an appointment and booking a scan.

Is that normal?! I feel rather deflated that it seems I won't be having a scan at 12 weeks as its likely to be after that unless they book you in on the day you apply online!

Runner05 · 22/03/2016 17:11

Jam that sounds completely wrong. You normally have your first midwife appointment (booking in) at 8 weeks and your first scan at 12 weeks.

Can you fill out the online form now?

OP posts:
Pinklily1 · 22/03/2016 17:45

That doesn't sound right to me either Jam. I thought the booking in appointment was meant to take place between 8-10 weeks and then the scan between 12-14weeks. Don't you have to have the scan before a certain time if you want the combined testing? I would query it if I were you.

shelbTa · 22/03/2016 17:49

Yeah I'd question that jam Deffo.
