Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Morning ladies

A lot to catch up on...so I'll just say hi to everyone and hope everyone is doing ok.

Miley, have you managed any food or drink in the past few days? Surely t must calm down for you soon, it's not been kind to you so far Thanks

Hope you are both feeling ok Bunch and Nev. It sounds like you both live in the back of beyond!

For those going to their 20 week scan soon, lots of luck. Shelb and Potato, are you both planning on finding out the sex if you can? (I'm sure you are Potato?).

I'm 20 weeks today. So pleased to be at the half way point!

LaraG13 · 12/04/2016 09:19

Hello all! Not been keeping up.

Hope all of those having issues are doing ok. nev yesterday sounds very scary - hope you are feeling reassured today. Has the bleeding stopped? bunch sounds like you have a lot to deal with too. I'm sure all will be well, but I think feeling upset and a bit 'why me' is very normal 💐

miley sorry to hear you're poorly again. My sickness has also had a resurgence and I'm confined to the sofa. But keeping enough food and liquid down, so not as bad as you.

Good luck for Friday potato and anyone else who has their 20 week scan. lillian and I have our 12 week scans on Friday so it's a big day for scans! Very excited but also very worried. OH thinks I'm mad for being worried. How are you feeling about yours lillian?

PotatosMum · 12/04/2016 09:29

Pink yay for the half way mark! Scary, some of us will be hitting the third trimester soon.

Yep, I will be finding out the sex if I can Smile

BunchOfBobs · 12/04/2016 09:39

YES Potato. The midwife I'm sure has bruised me yesterday when she literally dug the Doppler in and dragged it along my tummy. I was wincing and mouthing "fuck fuck fuck" it hurt so much. After she left my DH pipes up "should have just let me do it , I find him straight away" Grin

Yay for halfway Pink.

I'm still feeling really down today about it all. I have no idea why, I currently don't even know if there's anything wrong with my liver- I could be fine. The only thing I categorically do know is that I'm now getting an increase in care, weekly checks on my liver enzymes for the next 3 weeks then weekly checks on Pip on top of all the other screening they'll do. As log as everything stays the same I'll hopefully still get the birth I want.... What is to feel so upset about?! I need to snap out of it.

Flashinthepan · 12/04/2016 09:42

Hello, I'm popping over to join from the TTC thread if that's ok (lucky number 13 indeed!). I thought I'd had AF so only just tested yesterday and got my BFP so according to Clue I am 5 +1 today. I was still spotting up until yesterday so it was all a bit of a shock.

PotatosMum · 12/04/2016 09:55

Bunch don't feel down. Even if you do need to have a hospital birth it's not the end of the world (and you're in good company Grin) as long as you have a nice healthy baby you won't care either way afterwards.

Welcome Flash Grin what's your EDD so that I can add you to the list?

Is there anyone else still missing from the list?

Flashinthepan · 12/04/2016 10:58

Thanks! Nice to be here. EDD is 11 December.

Because I thought I wasn't pregnant, I kept ignoring all the little symptoms and now I wonder if I'm just imagining them because I know I'm pregnant!

Mileymoocow · 12/04/2016 11:08

Morning pink et all! I'm just back from an overnight stay at the new hospital (very swish, pink and all the midwives are absolutely fab!!) Went to docs at 1pm yesterday, sent straight to my local hospital who tried to put a drip in but couldn't as I was so dehydrated I'd shrivelled up! Has an anti sickness injection in my butt which hurt like a biatch and didn't stop me vomiting so I got sent to the specialist care hospital (which is brand spanking new and I bloody love it and all the docs). Midwives managed to get a vein straight away so in went drip and 3L of fluid as well as an IV of anti sickness potion. Kept me in overnight as my blood pressure plummeted to 88/55 but got let out this morning feeling fresh as a bloody daisy. I've been prescribed different prochlorperazine in a higher dosage along with thiamine. Will catch up now, hope everyone is on.

LaraG13 · 12/04/2016 11:25

Oh miley you poor love! Glad the hospital was a decent one though. Really hope the jab will help.

Welcome Flash! Must be a huge surprise to be pregnant if you thought you had a period! Quite nice that you're already a week or so ahead of when most people find out though, because as everyone here can confirm, the first few weeks go SLOW!

bunch I can completely understand why you feel down. I think pregnancy makes you feel very out of control, and when you're told things might not be able to go the way you planned them it's a blow, as well as creating a big extra worry. But I suppose very few of us will get the exact birth we hope for - it's just so unpredictable. I think you should stay hopeful for a MLU birth but, as runner says, accept that a hospital birth would be OK too. They're keeping an eye on you and your baby and that's the main thing right now.

BunchOfBobs · 12/04/2016 11:58

Welcome and congrats Flash!!

Oh Miley glad you're feeling better but you are having a rough ride.

Potato thanks, I've given myself a bit of a shake, had a good long chat about it with my Dad and have done some baby shopping so feeling all positive and excited again. Grin

LisaTheGreek · 12/04/2016 12:45

Hi all,

Sorry, I still haven't caught up since last Friday when I came back from the US.

I'm taking a break from MN at the moment, and just wanted to say good luck to everyone, and I hope it's all going well.

I'm really struggling with my sickness and while I used to read/post on here most days, I'm finding it hard now. I've become quite miserable (not sure I'm actually depressed, but feeling down) and it's hard to be on these boards and talk about my pregnancy. I feel like I just want to pretend it's not happening, and not think about it at all (and then I feel dreadful when I go on the TTC board and see people who would love to be where I am now).

My Mum had bad MS with me until 19 weeks, so that's my current goal and light in the tunnel. I'm just over 15 now, so hoping I wake up in a few weeks and feel so much better. And when I do, I'll be back, and promise I'll catch up on everything.

In the meantime, sending you all my love and positive vibes for your pregnancies, and I'm still so excited for you all.

xxxxxx

LisaTheGreek · 12/04/2016 13:11

Also - thank you to everyone who's sent good wishes and been supportive on the thread so far. It really means a lot, and this is such a lovely thread to be on.

PotatosMum · 12/04/2016 13:44

Don't worry Flash I'm sure you have lots of symptoms to look forward to.

Miley glad you had a positive experience at the hospital. Hopefully the new drugs will make you feel better.

Lisa totally understandable to take a break when you feel like poo. I hope things get better for you and you come back soon. Until then, take care x

I just got back from the hospital. Today was horrific. It took 4 people to get mum into the wheel chair to go because she was crying and shaking and whining, then when she was in she just sat there whimpering. She slept through her appointment but just as we were about to go she had what could only be described as a poo-splosion, very smelly runny poo all over herself, the wheelchair and the floor. I felt so sorry for her but I had to leave the room to avoid vomiting Sad nurses had to clean her up while she sobbed and whimpered some more.
When I left her back at the care home she looked so pathetic. I just felt horrible for her Sad

Flashinthepan · 12/04/2016 15:43

Thought it had stopped but I've just had more spotting, still watery and darkish red/brown (sorry if TMI) and have some cramps. Don't know what to do about it really. Anyone had anything similar at this point?

PotatosMum · 12/04/2016 15:48

Hi Flash call your midwife ASAP. Let's of us have had small bleeds and they are rarely anything to worry about but you should always see a Dr or midwife for them.
How many weeks are you?

Flashinthepan · 12/04/2016 15:55

Hi Potato. Only 5 weeks. My GP appointment is on Friday for referral to the midwife. Went to the hospital last night as had been having spotting since what I thought was my period a couple of weeks ago. They didn't seem overly concerned about the bleeding as I felt otherwise fine. I might pop along to the Early Pregnancy Unit tomorrow morning to see if they can take a look as I'm feeling a bit crampy but have had weird dull stretchy bloating feelings anyway. Just not sure what the done thing is as my usual approach to my own health is wait and see what happens, but obviously don't want to take any chances here!

PotatosMum · 12/04/2016 16:27

Period type cramps at your stage are pretty normal. Aching and stretching, it's all part of the joy of pregnancy. So what you've described doesn't ring too many alarm bells.
Is the blood bright red or brownish?

I'd get yourself along to the EPU and make a bit of a fuss but try not to worry.

PotatosMum · 12/04/2016 16:29

Oh, and bloating is everyone's favourite pregnancy side effect. So that is also nothing to worry about. Pregnancy hormones make your digestive system slow down so you will most likely spend the next 9 months feeling like a floatation device Hmm

Flashinthepan · 12/04/2016 16:34

Thanks Potato Smile I feel good (aforementioned symptoms aside) so that made me worry maybe I was not worried enough about the spotting etc, but I also don't want to turn myself into a gibbering wreck (yet!)

StarkyTheDirewolf · 12/04/2016 18:22

flashmaybe ring your local epu and explain your symptoms? We've got a few near me and a couple are walk in/self refer Flowers

Today has been shocking! Two selfish fuckwits households in direct vicinity have decided to have massive burn ups of all their shit. And it stinks of burnt plastic and old grease. It's tipped me over the edge, if there's one thing I'm not coping with its smells and I've been lying on the couch looking haunted according to dh since half 2. I can't move. I'm just being still and burping ferociously.

Dh better bring me ice cold Dr. Pepper back from the gym trip otherwise heads will roll. I can't stomach anything today because of the stupid smell!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 12/04/2016 18:23

And im so sorry about your mum potato Flowers

Mileymoocow · 12/04/2016 20:13

flash I had bad period type cramps at around 5 weeks, I was convinced I was going to see a and did a knicker check ever hour or so. Hope all is well, though I'm sure it will be!

starky that smell is enough to tip anyone over the edge never mind someone harboring a little bean that heightens their spideysenses! Hope this isn't the start of your nausea!

lisa hope you feel better soon, you have my sympathy - I know how horrendous it all is Sad hopefully it will puss off soon

IndiX · 12/04/2016 20:57

Potato I'm so sorry about your mum.
Flash I had brown spotting and mild cramps at 8 weeks, turned out to be a slight bleed from outside the uterus. Do get checked though just to put your mind at ease.

Sorry haven't been posting much, I have had the odd creep on here but been busy back home at my mums (including a 12hour round trip) so haven't had a real chance to read through. Nothing much going on here, I have however booked my baby shower Grin ( I'm a control freak and wanted a particular venue and date) plus we also ordered our nursery furniture today as there's a 30% sale on mothercare website! 14 weeks tomorrow, no bump to be seen except a bloated round belly at night time.
I know this sounds strange but we go on holiday in 5 weeks and I really imagined a cute bump in my holiday photos..ill actually be annoyed if it hasn't popped by thenConfused

IndiX · 12/04/2016 21:32

P.s. Does anyone else watch One Born in complete denial that you are going to give birth? I'm still don't believe I'm pregnant sometimes never mind a human coming out of me in October..

Sodasoda · 12/04/2016 22:15

Hi flash, I think a lot of people on here had bleeding / spotting early on - me included. I had both from 6-10ish weeks. It was pretty stressful! I self-referred to an EPU and all was ok. Hopefully you can too and they can provide some reassurance.

starky that sounds awful! I hope DH came through with a Dr Pepper!

potato really sorry about your mum, sounds awful.

indi I know exactly what you mean about the bump! I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and desperate for a proper bump! I go on hols in a couple of weeks and really want a nice bump. I'm in a really annoying phase of maternity clothes don't look right and normal clothes don't fit! Completely with you on the denial thing! I kind of believe I'm pregnant now but still finding it hard to connect it to an actual baby!

Sorry you're finding it so tough lisa.

miley really hope the sickness eases soon.
