Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Yip potato the old piles are not good! Just another lovely symptom to add to the list 😟

bunch glad pips back to normal.

Ladies if you get itching that is constant and really intense you need to report it straight away. It's a sign your liver is not disposing of your body toxins properly and you have liver salts/bile excess in your body. It can be very dangerous in pregnancy and needs monitored. If you do have elevated liver enzymes you can help by watching what your eating. Reduce fat and sugar and dairy it's the hardest things for your liver to process. Apples are great for your liver as is pure apple juice but it's hard to get its usually sweetened stuff in the shops. Another wonderful pregnancy issue. Your midwife will keep you right.

feefs it is hard for men as said earlier, it's not anything visual or physical for them to relate to yet. I'm soo tired today. Between 2 and 6 pm I feel like I could curl up in to a ball and sleep like iv not slept for days! I'm sure the scan will make things more real for him and help him relate. Hope your sickness isn't too bad.

BunchOfBobs · 10/04/2016 17:22

Hi everyone.

Hospital were a bit rubbish in the phone, said they would book me in for a repeat blood screening on Monday. When I mentioned reduced movements prompting me to go to the midwife last night they were adamant I was to come in today.... Until I said I was 22 weeks. "Oh you'll be fine until tomorrow". Ffs there isn't a magical number of weeks when baby plays to the rule book and begins having a routine. Pip has been in a routine for about 2 weeks, and I've felt him since 15 weeks- very early for a ftm according to the nhs. It pissed me right off as my local mlu is amazing and my "local" hospital (1 hour away) seem to not care until you're 28 weeks. Anyhoo thankfully Pip is back to normal today but I get the delights of a hospital trip tomorrow at 10am.

Apparently my bloods showed no sign of OC but my ALT ?? Levels are elevated. Still a liver function thing but can be controlled with an antihistamines? I don't know as I wasn't really paying attention last night as I was so worried about Pip. Any clarity for me NHS ladies?

The nursery is officially finished once I get my embroidery in the empty frames and hang the repainted door

Wow bunch that nursery looks incredible. Well done! Good luck for your blood tests tomorrow

BunchOfBobs · 10/04/2016 17:46

Thanks Danni I'm so in love with it. I keep finding myself wandering in just to gaze at it and play with the baby clothes. I have a long wait now. Stupidly I like to get prepared early. One year early for the cot at least Hmm

Can you guess my favourite colour is green Wink

Feefeefs · 10/04/2016 17:46

Thanks peaches no actual vomiting I kinda wish I could.

Beautiful nursery bunch!

Feefeefs · 10/04/2016 17:48

Also bloods in pregnancy are really hard to comment on bunch Liver function is frequently abnormal. I would make any changes until your midwife/doctor advises. Loads of misconceptions out there

StarkyTheDirewolf · 10/04/2016 17:58

Beautiful nursery bunch so lovely! Fx for your results and everything tomorrow and thank goodness pip is back tap dancing!

Inwardly furious with dh. There's been some issues with work and there's a meeting this week. I'd reminded him before that Wednesday morning was a no-go if he wanted to come to my booking in. I hear his boss on the phone and the word 'Wednesday' so I'm mouthing 'you can't do Wednesday morning' he just nods at me but doesn't say anything to his boss. He came off the call and I told him again "Wednesday I've got the doctors" "oh it won't be Wednesday" 10 mins later he gets a text "Wed 9:30 am Meeting" because obviously that was going to happen! But is having a sulk about it instead of just ringing to get it changed! The one fucking time he couldn't do!

And it didn't need to be an issue, which is what's winding me up more! So now I've got to walk the half hour scenic route to the doctors and back all because he didn't open his bloody mouth! I'm probably more miffed because he been so dead set on coming with! And obviously I can't ring my mum/dad to get a lift because they'll want to know why I'm going to the doctors and I haven't told a soul...and then I'd still have to walk (up the bloody hill) home because I don't know how long it will take in the doctors!

Peaches8Posies · 10/04/2016 18:06

bunch your nursery is gorgeous! Love the colours and your furniture. Alt levels raised is the less serious of the two, if they are raised it suggests slight inflammation in the liver. If they are slightly raised they will keep an eye on you its quite common and less serious. The antihistamines will hopefully keep the itching down. obstetric cholestasis is the more serious condition that can develop (what I said above re enzymes building up and not being disposed of properly). Take care of yourself and don't panic. It's good they have noticed it they will keep an eye on it. Like most other things it disappears once baby arrives. If your not happy re movements don't hesitate to go in and get checked. You know pip and you better than anyone. It's their job to monitor you during pregnancy! Have you checked out the charity count kicks? (Think that's them they changed their name recently) great info about what your going through and they will tell you if in doubt make the midwifes or docs listen!

Wow, that was a big post haha. The joys of pregnancy eh, what a roller coaster!

Peaches8Posies · 10/04/2016 18:16

Yip feefs folk probably have liver issues and donot even know. Definitely quite common and nothing to get worried about (or bunch would have been told otherwise for sure) sometimes the more you know the more you worry unnecessarily!

stark I know you have rage right now (and I would be the same) but your booking in is quite straight forward and he's not missing much, if that helps you calm down any (although if your like me probably not haha) can you guilt him in to paying for a taxi for you? Guys are hopeless! I have to lie to my dad if he offers me a lift anywhere perpetually late everywhere he goes! If my appointment is 1030 iv got to say 1015 eve then I get there by the skin of my teeth! OH not much better, lives on the premise everything is a ten minute drive away, even if he doesn't know where to go!! Anyway make sure he really makes it up to you 😆

LillianFullStop · 10/04/2016 20:10

Checking in after a weekend of feeling sorry for myself with a cold and cough - managed the last few days with just 2 paracetamols only when my head got unbearable. Thank goodness am over the worst now I think - fx. Still resting and trying to get as much sleep as I can.

5 more days for us Lara! I'm starting to feel anxious as symptoms seem to have eased up - I'm hoping it's just been overshadowed by cold symptoms instead. Been sharing the news with more family and everyone is very happy for us which is nice.

Lovely nursery bunch!! what a lucky bean you have to have a cosy nursery to come home to Smile fx on the test results lets hope it's the least serious of all the possibilities!

Oh starky that's annoying you don't need the added worry really esp for your first appointment! Truthfully it's all boring questions and blood test and urine sample. They give you a load of reading material etc to take home etc. My DH came but pretty much just sat there and only got asked if he worked and what he did and some questions on his family medical history. Actually the 16w appt they ask your partner not to attend. I agree on the cab idea though esp since it sounds like quite a pain to make it there on foot!

LillianFullStop · 10/04/2016 20:11

OMG welcome feef!!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 10/04/2016 21:12

Best bit is, I wasn't even that bothered about him coming in the first place knowing it was going to be boring, he's tizzed himself out now and has swapped the meeting I think! He just wanted to be a sulky sod today because he's tired! Grin

Sodasoda · 10/04/2016 21:12

Hi everyone,

Lots to catch up on! Hope you've all had good weekends.

bunch, all sounds very worrying for you. I hope they put your mind at ease when you go in. Your nursery looks fab!

I had a worrying day yesterday - was in quite a lot of pain all across my stomach. Was with the inlaws so was trying not to make a fuss. It was only later in the day when I escaped for a loo visit I realised it was a severe case of trapped wind! Blush Feel much better today - phew!

Got the Sunday night blues badly Sad

Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

Feefeefs · 10/04/2016 21:22

Thanks Lillian!! Grin

PotatosMum · 10/04/2016 22:07

Bunch your nursery looks gorgeous!!! Smile

Stark that just sucks. Can your DH get the time changed? To be fair it is kind of easier without OHs though as the MW will ask lots of impertinent questions like whether your partner is abusive etc.

Sorry you've been poorly Lillian but glad you're on the mend now.

Potato has been going mad today, kicking really hard from first thing in the morning until lunch time. He's started making me jump quite regularly so I dread to think what he'll be like in a couple of weeks. Luckily I think he's warn himself out as he woke up this evening just long enough to give me a couple of good kicks when I was trying to eat and then went quiet again.

PotatosMum · 11/04/2016 08:08

Morning ladies, how are you all today?

I had an awful nights sleep, I kept having nightmares about ring covered in puss filled scabs Sad silly baby induced dreams, I never used to have nightmares!

The photographer is coming to photograph the flat today. Selling up is getting scarily real!

shelbTa · 11/04/2016 08:16

Morning all

I'm at the halfway point today - 20 weeks!

Bunch that nursery is amazing! Gorgeous.

Stark - men. I found my OH secretly wanted to come to booking in.

How is everyone?

Sounds like a rough night potato!

X

PotatosMum · 11/04/2016 08:43

Shelb yay! For being half way!!!! It's all down hill from here!

Planeteer · 11/04/2016 08:49

Morning ladies

Bunch, that nursery looks incredible, like something you'd see in a magazine!

Congrats on the halfway mark Shelb! How are you feeling?

Potato hope photographer gets some great pics today. I need to have the delightful 'why haven't we had any feedback from our viewings?' chat with our estate agent today. Really hope yours will sell in a flash so you can get house hunting in earnest. We're basically stalled until we get an offer on our place. So frustrating!

I'm telling my boss today. Bit nervous about it as he is king of the inappropriate comment (it's like he's competing in a special 'patronising and sexist' Olympics at times, sigh) so am bracing myself for some teeth gritting in the coming weeks.

PotatosMum · 11/04/2016 09:20

Planet you give your estate agent hell! Smile we're hoping to have an open house in 2 weeks so fingers crossed we'll have an offer from that. Then comes the hard part, agreeing on a property. OH has his heart set on a 3 story town house but parking around then is awful. I want something with a driveway and garage right next to the house.
Have you had much interest/viewings? Is it worth changing your agent?
With the other house our first agent was awful so we changed and it sold within a couple of weeks.

Hope all goes well with your boss. Try not to hit him with anything Grin

Mileymoocow · 11/04/2016 09:46

Well, turns out I have a horrendous cold. Tried paracetamol after the pain from my headache was too bad to cope with but I couldn't even keep them down. I've had nothing to eat for 2 days and am really struggling to drink, looking like another trip to the hospital Angry I'm feeling very sorry for myself today, I feel dreadful

Ooo planet good luck on telling your boss!

PotatosMum · 11/04/2016 09:58

Oh no Miley you poor thing. Seems like it's just one thing after another for you Sad

BunchOfBobs · 11/04/2016 11:17

Morning all.
I've had my bloods and obs taken and am now waiting to see the dr to see if I need a liver scan.

It's all go on this assessment unit, I'm surrounded by the sound of babies heartbeats and I've heard one woman pop in in labour, had about 4 contractions in 2 minutes and was quickly whisked away as she's fully dilated. Very exciting if slightly terrifying. Now overhearing people being told they need inductions. Ouch.

Sorry to hear your rough again Miley and ugh to the lovely dreams Potato, I've had some stonkers recently too.

PotatosMum · 11/04/2016 13:12

Sounds very dramatic Bunch keep us posted.

Went to see mum today and she was in an awful state. Crying and shaking and wouldn't talk to anyone Sad it was very sad.
I have to take her to the hospital tomorrow but I'm really nervous about it and but there are no carers available to come. I never used to be this timid but I'm just so aware of Potato and anxious not to put myself in a situation where he might be hurt. I just keep thinking what if...
I'm also starting to freak out about Friday's scan. The old, what if something's wrong worry is starting again not helped by near constant cramps and stitches in my tummy and sides.
I think I may be a nervous reck by the end of the week.

BunchOfBobs · 11/04/2016 14:24

Potato I was a nervous wreck for my 20 weeks too, I think it's completely normal. Any chance your OH can come with you with your mum?

I've had a bit of a rubbish day to be honest. I'm booked in for a liver, gall bladder and abdomen scan. Had 4 lots of blood drawn- 2 of which were attempted by a student who has made me look like a junkie. The Midwife near had a fit when she saw the state of my arms and has had to put a pressure dressing on to reduce the swelling. Confused
I now have to have weekly bloods taken and from 26 weeks this has to be at the hospital (1 hour away) to also have baby monitoring done. On top of that I've been referred to the consultant there as I'm now under consultant care- but fingers crossed should be able to still give birth at my MLU. I've just had a little cry and I don't even know why.

Stupid fucking liver.
