Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!

Runner05 · 21/03/2016 12:33

Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

jam i spoke to my surgery today. I have to hand a sample for the nurse to confirm my pregnancy then once that's back I fill in formal for midwife care and referral. A letter with a date for my twelve week scan is usually sent out when I'm between 8/10 weeks. My first midwife appointment is booked after my first scan. I'm Scotland. I would question what you were told today.

Peaches8Posies · 22/03/2016 18:26

first beautiful picture. Lucky lady having access to scan yourself. I would be addicted though haha

Jamjar12 · 22/03/2016 18:29

Thanks guys, I just went through the NHS midwife section and filled it out to refer myself. It says when you reach 8 weeks, they will contact you to arrange the booking in appointment and scan. Who needs flipping GPs?? Feeling much better now that I know things will start happening in a few weeks.

Just need this poppy seed to stick now please!

Hi all!

I'm 6+4.

Starting to feel really rotten. Have zero energy, constantly feel sick, gone off most foods (especially dairy Sad).

Was thrilled to get to work yesterday morning to discover my boss has taken a last minute holiday (as in, casually emailed me last thing on Friday to let me know she's off this week) and dumped ALL her work on me. We work in finance. It's financial year end. I am slightly put out by this development!

jam I've got my booking appointment at 8 weeks- my GP booked me in when I called last week. Not sure about the scan though, I guess the procedure for this varies area to area?)

Laurenrl · 22/03/2016 20:08

Evening! Hope everyone's day was ok

I've jumped back to my old EDD runner :) whenever you're next doing it can I be 29th sept please Grin

I'm just watching my dvd of the scan yesterday and at one point you see right between its legs, I've now screen shorted it on my phone and am now spending the evening playing guess the sex!

Pinklily1 · 22/03/2016 20:21

Welcome 5tar!

Lauren - are you working on the nub theory?I see lots of people posting about that in the Pregnancy section and I can never tell any difference - I am hopeless at scan pictures!!

Laurenrl · 22/03/2016 20:39

Haha oh I have no idea, can't get the hang of that theory I'm just watching it flip and pretending I can tell what it is :)

5tardusty · 22/03/2016 21:07

Thanks runner Grin

Jamjar12 · 22/03/2016 21:25

Hi 5tar!!

Sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish Rae, I'm feeling absolutely drained but I don't know if it's to do with poppy seed or life in general. I would say hope you feel better soon but I think we're just all going to have to accept we're going to feel rubbish on this quest to create a person!

Yeah, maybe it's a regional thing. My cousin is a midwife but that would be breaking our resolution to keep it secret lol. I might end up cracking and asking her if the ball doesn't start rolling around 8 weeks. (I'm in Kent btw)

Danni89 · 22/03/2016 21:46

Welcome 5tar!

Anyone watching #oneborn??

Pinklily1 · 22/03/2016 22:03

I watched it Dannii. It's compulsive viewing!!

RaeSkywalker · 22/03/2016 22:05

Thanks jam Smile

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/03/2016 22:08

I'm not ringing till at least 6 weeks. Still cramping and freaked out!
I've got one born on record. I'm too busy trying to control my facial dribbling issue!

Jamjar12 · 23/03/2016 06:35

I've recorded it!

leoniethelioness · 23/03/2016 06:43

I've recorded it too. DH doesn't want me to watch it though in case I upset myself!

Mileymoocow · 23/03/2016 06:43

starky the cramping freaked me out for a good few weeks. That coupled with soggy vag had me checking my knicks for blood every hour. It does pass. Try to spend your time distracting yourself by eating nice foods incase you become utterly repulsed by them soon Wink

I watched OBEM with OH last night to show him what's to come. He was giggling because it sounded like a fart when they were breathing in the gas and air and was completely repulsed that they showed a vagina on the telly (apparently there's no need for that). This is an almost 30 year old man who is due to be a father in 6 months. I despair

IndiX · 23/03/2016 07:05

Hi everyone,
I keep trying to post on here but the wifi isn't great in the hotel so don't know if I may be repeating myself if it did manage to post.
In Nice, France atm with my 2 best friends, having a really lovely time. I'm finding the daytime drinks in the sun a bit hard, I usually love a cocktail/wine at lunch but I'm making the most of the mocktails on offer. Funny though I'm not jealous about them drinking at night time, I must be a day time drinker. Feeling so much better, well actually I feel completely normal except for a sore lower back.
I'm now 11+1 which feels so far along when I think how quickly it's gone from a poppy seed to a lime. I'm really starting to notice a rounder pouch on my lower stomach now (it may be all the carbs though) it's actually making me just feel fat and bloated. My friends say not to worry, I'm pregnant etc but I just wish it was a proper bump so I didn't just look fat. How we're all your bellies at 11 weeks? Is it too soon for a rounded pouch?

I hope you're all doing well, I am trying to catch up when I can but back tomorrow and will catch up properly then.

RaeSkywalker · 23/03/2016 07:06

Miley my DH refuses to watch it. I think he's decided that ignorance is bliss!

He is currently making my packed lunch for me though as the sight of food is making me feel sick this morning. So I'll let him off!

LaraG13 · 23/03/2016 07:15

indi glad you're having fun. You have no idea how happy it makes me to read that your sickness has gone at 11 weeks. I am finding it unbearable and the thought of having to wait until 14 weeks for some let up is making me depressed. My stomach isn't flat any more, at 9 weeks. I think it must be bloat but it's noticeable.

I've got OBEM recorded. OH won't watch a second of it. He's really really squeamish and anything with blood or hospitals or people screaming makes him really uncomfortable. I have said to him he doesn't have to be present at the birth if he doesn't want to as I don't want to force him to to endure something he'll find distressing when it's not essential.

Runner05 · 23/03/2016 07:34

Rae fingers crossed you'll just get mild sickness.

lauren D'oh! I will update your EDD next time I do the list.

Stark the cramps are completely normal and will come and go through the whole pregnancy in one form or another. It's just your bits stretching.

Indi glad you're having a good time and starting to feel better.

I think I'll watch OBEM on catch up. OH isn't really bothered about the show, he's seen it all before. He informed me the other day that if he was a woman he'd be getting an elective c-section... If I wasn't at a higher risk of bleeding I think I would too!

Indi I bought some elasticated maternity jeggings in my usual size at about 11 and a half weeks. Never looked back! I'm wearing my normal clothes the rest of the time but feel much more comfortable in the maternity clothes! It was nice to buy something in my usual size too.

I feel like I look pregnant now but I think we just notice our own bodies more.

Co5mo · 23/03/2016 07:52

Lara your OH sounds just like mine. He says he'll be at the delivery but I'm not sure I'll get him through the door of the delivery suit!
