Thread #4 - TTC#1 the one where Stark joins the grads!!!!

Runner05 · 21/03/2016 12:33

Welcome to another riveting instalment of TTC#1 grads.

We've got new grads POAS every day just to make sure, 1st Trimesters wondering if they will be hit by the dreaded morning sickness or not, those approaching the hollowed promised land of the second trimester where all is good and the glowing will prevail... Those who have reached the second trimester and are thoroughly miffed at the lack of glowing.
We have scan photos, bizarre symptoms and the joys of baby shopping, and very importantly we now have Stark!

All are welcome on the wild gas powered ride that is TTC#1 grads Grin

Good luck tomorrow Lillian!!

Pinklily1 · 23/03/2016 21:54

Ps I also get the poo purge. That's what I was trying to describe a few weeks ago when someone suggested overflow diarrhoea, but think it's more like the purge thing!

Morwenna1 · 23/03/2016 21:57

Good luck to you tomorrow Lillian Is it in the morning? We might be looking at our little ones at the same time on screen Smile

LO was definitely more active today, was getting properly pummelled this evening!

LillianFullStop · 23/03/2016 22:14

Mine's in the afternoon Morwena so I've taken a half day off work to get an early start on Easter weekend Smile

leoniethelioness · 24/03/2016 06:44

Good luck with your scans today!

13+1 today and going to try to tell my supervisor today if I can... I am still very nervous. My friend told me she told her boss at 12 weeks and everyone else when she couldn't hide it any longer at 19 weeks so I might do something similar. No way I'm getting to 19 weeks without people guessing though!

BunchOfBobs · 24/03/2016 07:13

Hi all,
I'm on my last morning at the spa. It's been bliss and we've had no phones on the entire time. Just caught up on the thread.

I think I've had another growth spurt whilst here which is two in the last week. They bloody hurt too as my bump skin gets all tight and sensitive. Too much to touch.

5tar there's 3 of us here who haven't had any morning sickness at all. Sorry to rub it in Miley.

Runner you look lovely. I adore bump pics, I'll post mine later.

Good luck today Lillian and Mor. Eek are you did in four today Mor?

Yay Pink you also look lovely, there's definitely a bump there.

Pinklily1 · 24/03/2016 07:23

Good luck today Mor! Are you finding out the sex?

leoniethelioness · 24/03/2016 08:15

Bunch No sickness here either. I was just really tired and needed to snack mid morning otherwise I felt a bit queasy. So long as I ate then, I was fine.

BunchOfBobs · 24/03/2016 08:21

Ahem "eek are you did in four today" roughly translates to "are you finding out today".

I may head back to bed now Blush

That's good to hear Leonie that's 4 of us then. Myself, Nev and Mor making up the rest Smile

BunchOfBobs · 24/03/2016 09:04

This is me at 19+5. I'm off for a Hopi ear candle treatment now and then for my last spa circuit. Sorry for the extra flesh on show.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Mileymoocow · 24/03/2016 09:13

bunch wow!!! Hope I look half as good as you do at almost half way! It's fine, I'm genuinely pleased for everyone that hasn't had morning sickness. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Hopi ear candle treatments are so relaxing! Just don't look at the ear gunk if you're queasy Wink

Planeteer · 24/03/2016 09:29

Loving the bump pictures ladies, you all look fab!

Have my booking in appt today. Any killer questions I should be asking?

Runner05 · 24/03/2016 09:32

Wow! Bunch you look fantastic!!!!

Potato appears to be getting more and more active this week. I got a few kicks Monday and Wednesday and this morning he hasn't stopped kicking me Hmm knowing how active he is regardless of wether he's awake or asleep (I blame his dad for that) I have a feeling I may may be in for a lot of abuse lol

Must be lovely to feel baby potato move though. I can't wait! Grin

Vomited a total of 6 times in 2 hours so I'm guessing it's just going to be one of those days! I hope everyone has a good easter weekend though! Hope the weather fairs up. OH is at work all weekend and I have a feeling I'm going to be too poorly to go anywhere anyway so the least I feel I deserve is some sunshine in the garden!

Runner05 · 24/03/2016 11:17

It is nice Miley but it's also quite distracting. I think he's having a kip now (tired himself out). Speaking of tired, I'm shattered! I'm not sleeping well at the moment and neither is OH, I think I keep waking him up Sad

Nothing much planned for the weekend. I want to finish clearing mums flat and we've got DSSs birthday party on Monday but apart from that I think I'll be relaxing Smile

Ladies I don't know how many of you are planning to bottle feed but if you are Amazon appear to have a glitch in their system.

If you search for the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Complete Starter Kit it will come up in the search as £100 but if you click onto the listing it will say £60 which is cheaper than the Essentials version of the same kit Shock

Just bought one and it does go through the basket as £60 plus £5 postage which is an absolute bargain!

The starter kit includes steriliser, bottle warmer, travel bottle warmer, insulated bottle bags, bottles, a variety of teats and milk powder dispensers.

Thanks everyone. I'm loving my bump but ouch the sore stretching skin today!! I've had lots of knowing smiles while at the spa. Thankfully no bump botherers.
Hopi candles were amazing Miley so relaxing, she didn't show and I didn't ask to see so no gunk witnessed here. Went for a half hour nap after it was bliss. Just settling the bill now (the fun part) and then back to reality. Sigh.
Hope you feel better soon Miley.

Sodasoda · 24/03/2016 13:47

Just been for a check at hospital (routine -as part of my other issues I'm consultant led for). They kindly did a little check on baby so got to see him/her wriggling around in there! It was great! I'm 15+1 today and feel very reassured that the fact I have hardly any bump and no symptoms is just the promised land of the second trimester Smile

bunch your bump is fab! I'm going on holiday when I'm at your stage and I hope I look half as good as you in a swim suit!

Hope everyone is doing something nice this long weekend xx

Runner05 · 24/03/2016 13:56

Glad you've had a good time Bunch

Yay to seeing your baby again Soda

I've moved to a new office today, i went down to the shop/canteen at about 1 and excuse the language but there was fuck all there!! Not even a sandwich. I've had to come away with a packet of crisps for lunch and I know it's pathetic but now I want to burst into tears because I haven't got anything for lunch apart from that.
I know I'm not going to starve but I will start to feel sick if I don't eat properly. In the other office we never have this problem.
Feeling sorry for myself Sad

peaches it is going to be hard not to scan all the time!
it's reassuring to know that it is growing as it should do.

Midwife at 10+1 for me (4th April) and they'll booking my 1st trimester combined screening scan and bloods then for around 12 weeks.

It's going to be a bit odd for me as I'll be delivering in a hospital where I recently worked in the department so I'll know absolutely everyone!

Just debating when to start maternity leave. My job can be very active and physical (as some of you may experience if you meet any obstetricians on labour ward) so I am tempted to go a bit earlier than i initially thought. Planning on going back in August 2017 (we move hospitals yearly during training and august is changeover time) so that will be about 9 months off post-baby.

firstgo1984 · 24/03/2016 14:04

By the way, loving the bump pictures. I think it'll all feel a bit more real once there is a bump!

Mileymoocow · 24/03/2016 15:51

first I dint know if it would comfort me or terrify me if I knew everyone in the room!

Hope all scans have gone well today.

runner I'm going to try breastfeeding feeding but OHs DM couldn't with him as he was such a hungry baby he tore her nippers! We bought the Phillips avent complete set from mother care for £65 ages ago as it was less than half price. I'm a suckered for a bargain!

Runner05 · 24/03/2016 16:21

I'm the same Miley I love getting a bargain. I worked out today that we've spent about £170 on the baby so far but the value of everything we've got comes to about £820 Shock that includes the money Potato's grandad gave us as a saving but it's still impressive.

Pinklily1 · 24/03/2016 17:03

That's a lovely bump Bunch, you look amazing!

Just spent the day wedding dress shopping. It's a good job we went now as I don't think they would zip up for much longer!!

Miley, how are you feeling now?

I was at the hospital yesterday and doctor commented that it's unusual to feel movement before 20 weeks with a first baby. I think given how active Potato is Runner it means you're in for a lively one!! Does it feel uncomfortable when they move?
