Me too Mascara, 3 weeks Thursday!

GoingLoopyQuickly · 08/02/2016 21:53

Hi all, I have been distantly stalking this chat since the beginning but did struggle to keep up, so apologies if I get lost going on.

I am due dc2 on 28 July. I have a two year old boy who is my life and really looking forward to meeting the baby. Although I am not sure he is going to like sharing his daddy much! Or me.

My anomoly scan is 15 March, so ages after most of you. But I am hoping to find out sex then. We didn't with DS but he was our first. This time we want to help him understand who the baby is.

Generally pregnancy is going ok, but have been suffering from headaches and pains across my belly for the last few weeks. Docs don't seem too worried. I have my 16wk appointment next week so will chat to the mw then.

I have tried guessing which team we are going to join but have no clue. I was convinced I was having a girl with my first until quite late into the pg then I started doubting myself. Hey presto a boy popped out. I haven't suffered from sickness in either pg, but did get horrid nausia in this one. I was dead tired in the first but just run of the mill tired in this one. Insomnia in both but a bit better this time round. I head more towards savoury this time (except for my new thing for scones) and my bump is clearly a baby bump when people know, but otherwise I just look fat.

So that is me for now.

My mn is playing up. Ever since the app changed messages come out all back to front etc. I can't see any of what's been posted today. I just wondered if anyone else is suffering hiccups. I keep getting them not awful need to hold my breath hiccups but a few in a row every so often. I've surely had this symptom before I just don't remember it.

Thom80 · 08/02/2016 23:03

GoingLoopyQuickky - we share the same due date! I don't have my anomaly scan untll 22nd of March though, at nearly 22 weeks! It feels far too long to wait, DH is very keen to go private.
This is my first pregnancy & I have no idea what the symptoms mean. My sister-in law had terrible sickness & a sweet tooth and had a boy. My sister had little to no sickness and had a girl.

GoingLoopyQuickly · 09/02/2016 10:07

Hi Thom, noce to meet you due date buddy.

We reckon we have a girl brewing, but my son keeps telling me it is a boy. I will be happy either way.

photographerlady · 09/02/2016 10:09

Been a bit out the loop. Just trying to get through this new thread thats already pass a 100 posts. Had a bit of a sick spell. Anyone have hypothyroid? my levels were reading high after my last scan so when I found out at my 16 weeks I chased it up with my GP and she pushed through my referral and upped my levo which the last week has really helped my mood, tireness and fatigue.

IndiansInTheLobby can join you in the pee party. I go about 20 times a day just at work. I am sure they have saw a rise in their loo roll bills.

Gx91 I am debating the private scan, so hard to wait for the next scan

Jem01 · 09/02/2016 10:42

I'm weeing like every hour it's ridiculous but at least I know it's normal and I'm not the only one!

Sorry to hear those still feeling sick. Have you spoken to your midwives? Is there any medication you could take for it? My sister had it really badly throughout her entire pregnancy so I really feel for you guys Flowers

I still haven't told work yet for a few reasons so decided to wait until once I've had my 20 week scan which is in less than 2 weeks. Any tips on concealing my bump in the meantime?! I'm generally wearing black or dark clothes with loose shirts and scarfs but I'm running out of options!!

Anyone planning on having pancakes today for pancake day? Literally that's all I've been thinking about all morning roll on home time! Smile

Hi ladies - congrats on scans everyone, 23rd seems even further away! I'd been convinced we were having a boy but now I'm wavering - definitely craving sweet not savoury....I don't mind at all, as long as it's healthy and happy Smile
Oh my word the weeing is ridiculous! I thought I had a UTI on Friday it was so bad!

jem - I'm in the same boat (hence avoiding facebook group for a bit). I know I'll loose out on work if I go public about pregnancy. Also I'm a cautious beastie and I'm waiting for 20 week until I relax myself (all being well)! I think loose and floaty over maternity trousers/jeans is the only way! I think we'll look a bit chubby rather than pregnant if people don't know....I find stiffer fabric works better too...I've got a denim pinafore that is working hard at the mo x

Morning,

Indians that sounds amazing! I want it. Did you make the hollandaise? I'm feeling flabby too but think it's the point?

Hi going loopy! I'm due 29th scan 16 March so ages away!!! Got my 16 week app this week hoping to hear the heartbeat.

Congrats on your scans and to those who found out what you're having!

Now I hate to throw a spanner in the works but I completely went off sweet things in my last pregnancy! I didn't have too bad morning sickness really and I had a girl! I think it's so hard to predict. I have no real feeling on this one yet! Hope you're all well

GoingLoopyQuickly · 09/02/2016 11:48

Jem. I am wearing a long skirt with a jumper today and look less pg than I have done in months.

photographerlady · 09/02/2016 11:55

oh yes pancake day! had american pancakes for breakfast and tonight British style with lemon and sugar. Its a great day to be pregnant.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 09/02/2016 12:09

Thom I completely agree I feel as attractive as a flea at the moment! With Valentine's Day coming up this weekend I can't find a single thing to wear that doesn't look like a sack and worrying that I'll barf my way through the lovely "romantic" meal

scase first kicks very exciting!

Welcome goingloopy

jem mmmm pancakes! definitely making some tonight.

Gx91 · 09/02/2016 12:23

Happy pancake day ladies !
Il b heading out shortly to get supplies ! DD will b over the moon lol X
For all those suffering with headaches I feel ur pain , I have at least 4 a week and usually always a bit of a headache when I wake up , I too have been taking a lot of paracetomol but it doesn't help , it's not dehydration either bcoz I hav been making sure I have bn drinking a lot X
Think it's just a symptom that's commonly suffered during pregnancy that we have to grin and bare Sad X

Lol I can join those feeling unattractive , I will not be taking my clothes off on valentine day if I can help it ! Lol at the stage where I just look like Iv eaten too many pies lol

On the upside I felt the baby rolling around last night, was really great ! Xxx

GoingLoopyQuickly · 09/02/2016 12:36

I put on a wopping5 stone with ds and it took two years tp get it off. The day after I POAS and now here I am. I am really self conscious and anxious about the same happening so my mw agreed to me going back to slimming world to keep things under control. Having said that I refuse to become an obsessive and will continue to enjoy food. So Pancakes tonight is now ON the menu. Happy pancake day ;)

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 09/02/2016 12:58

I'm having pancakes today too.

We aren't doing anything for Valentine's Day. We don't usually celebrate it. I get a Valentine's meal deal and we watch a film that's about it. However, DH has invited his mum and sister over for Sunday dinner. Great just what I want to do on Valentine's Day. I won't have seen him for three days as he's working away.

Jem01 · 09/02/2016 12:58

cheery glad someone else is in the same boat! I will feel way more at ease once I've had 20 week scan and more comfortable to tell work then. My scan is on 20th so not long to go but feels like a lifetime away! Also thanks for the concealing bump tips looks like loose and floaty is the way to go!

Goingloopy also hadn't thought of long skirts will give those a try too! Re: putting weight on, the way I see it, I'm not going crazy and doing the whole "eating for two" thing but equally not going to worrying about everything I eat and feeling guilty because i decided to have a larger portion than usual. Ain't nobody got time for that!!! Plus everything in moderation right?!

So what's it to be - sweet or savoury pancakes?! I'm going for both (pancake day is only once a year after all) and totally agree with you photographerlady it's a very good time to be pregnant! Grin

birchybaby2 · 09/02/2016 13:11

I want pancakes now!!! Shame I'm working the late shift. Enjoy ladies. Xx

Thom80 · 09/02/2016 13:33

Happy Shrove Tuesday! I am definitely going to be eating pancakes tonight. Mine will be savoury as I am craving marmite on everything. I was even tempted to put it on my apple this morning.
Going loopy- I am convinced I am having a girl. I am planning to have another private scan around 18 weeks, so will hopefully find out then!!

GoingLoopyQuickly · 09/02/2016 13:36

I think if I have another private scan (I had a reassurance scan at 7weeks), then I am going to wait until sometime between 20 weeks and delivery. Otherwise it is a long long time without one.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 09/02/2016 13:37

I'm going for sweet pancakes. Lemon & sugar with some chopped strawberries. Nom
