Hello ladies - here we are on number 6! Let the chat continue! x

Hi - I am so anxious about everything that I drive my husband crazy, until he is practically booking me in for scans! I am hoping that once I get over 20 weeks I might relax a bit. I think feeling the baby kick might help as well. We spent years trying to have a baby and went through difficult IVF, so I can't quite believe that it is happening!

Just checking into our new thread. Congratulations on the lovely scans and finding out team pink or blue. Our 20 week scan is tomorrow. Nervous and excited. We already know we are having a girl so have started shopping for some pretty girly outfits.
All this talk of pancakes is making me hungry. Have some Nutella so will see if I have the energy later on to whip up a batch. Yum. Currently in bed with what I think is a chest infection and high temp (got doctors at 3pm). Today is only day I can take off this week as I am training a new start. Hoping today at least helps in recovery. Feeling pretty grim. had flu jab so hoping it's not a strain that I'm not immunised against.
Also since we are posting photos of our cute cats, here is my mischievous little buddy.

Thom80 we had IVF too so I totally I understand your anxiety I'm exactly the same! How long until your 20 weeks?

woodsy after I had the flu jab my arm was sore for days and felt v tired but hopefully you'll feel better soon. I think pancakes & Nutella will help

Jem - not until 22nd March, when I will be nearly 22 weeks. Feels very far away.

Pancakes!! Literally this has kept me going all day, can't wait to have them! Gosh I wonder how many i will eat sweet all the way!! Nutella, golden syrup, lemon, sugar, banana! Mmm. Not all at once, hopefully!

We'll Scase I've got a banging headache now, a busy old day.

Hello everyone!

I had my 20 week scan today. All went well - baby is fine. Cervix also looking good, and I am seeing the consultant on Friday so I think I will be signed off then. We didn't want to know the sex, which was fortunate as baby had its legs very firmly crossed anyway, so we wouldn't have been able to see!

Less good news about my dad sadly - we've had a real rollercoaster of a week and it has been very touch and go. The next few days will be pretty critical. I haven't been to see him - that is in accordance with what he indicated that he wanted. In any case, he now has flu and is in some kind of infection control ward, so it would probably be a bad idea for me to go at the moment. We just have to wait and see. It's a difficult time, so that's why I haven't really been posting.

Youandme, so sorry to hear about your dad. Sounds like you are being strong for everyone. Hope the next few days brings some positive news for you and that his strength builds. Great news on the baby front, look after yourself xx

Hi I too am on the pancake bus! Been thinking about them for days... DH says he has made the batter and bought the ingredients, lucky me :) Planning on sweet AND savoury- probably combinations of bacon/cheese/spinach/mushrooms, followed by lemon and sugar/Nutella and blueberries/maple syrup. On way home now, I can't wait!

Am slightly regretting inviting a friend around to join us - now I have to run around to clean the loo and tidy up a bit! Thankfully it's a close friend so just the bare minimum ;)

Congrats to Pinsey, Scase and Hopes for your great scan news. Such exciting times. I've probably missed someone, sorry! Ours is a week on Friday, fingers crossed all ok.

Jem I have been peeing a lot during the day again, but thankfully not so much at night, just once or twice now.

Oops, Youandme, just spotted your message. So sorry to hear news about your dad. Hope things improve. Great about scan though!

No pancakes here but going to have them for brekkie on Sunday. We never stick to the proper days lol. We don't do Valentine's either! I do insist on mothers day tho which is actually better than my birthday now Espec as out doesn't involve how old I'm getting.

Youandme - sorry to hear about your dad hope the next few days bring better news for you and him.x

I'm sooo jealous of all the pancake talk. I'm on my own so didn't see much point in making them for just me. Am seriously regretting that decision now. Someone have an extra one for me please .

I didn't fancy pancakes at all tonight. Yours all sound amazing!! Mascara six is fine, they are thin. DH had them... I had a sandwich. I'm now tucked up in bed. My DDs sleep has been appalling lately so I'm extra shattered! Praying she gives me a good night tonight.

I'm In the peeing/ thirsty club too. Drives me mad! I had a really long conference call today at work and thought I would wet myself by the end it's getting worse as I get bigger. Such a magical time

Oh no, I completely forgot about pancake day! We don't really have it in Canada and I still haven't gotten the hang of it.

Congrats to all for the great scan news! I think we're going to find out the gender at the 20 week scan, but we're not going to tell anyone. A way to keep the family and some friends from getting to involved in our decisions. Like names.

Been feeling little flutters here and there. On the car ride home, I think the baby was trying to dance to the King Creosote playing in the car. Girl or boy, this kid is doomed to be a hipster baby. It'll probably come out wearing plaid. Then again, it's grandfather is a Canadian lumberjack so maybe plaid is inevitable...

Im so glad its not only me getting spotty boobs! I have bad acne anyway on my back and sides its horrible but recently been getting spots on my boobs and tummy! Ughh so annoying

I feel so disgusting wish all the spots would go away!!

On the pancake front, Im having mine at the weekend :D lemon and sugar is my faaaaaavouriteeee topping

All this talk about nutella makes me wanna buy some, get a big spoon and dig in!!!

We had lots of pancakes with Nutella and banana. I love Nutella so much , so was basically an excuse to eat as much as possible. This is why my bump is flabby and not firm. Sigh *

Sorry to hear of all the headaches. I'm hoping (touch wood) I'm over the worst of mine. Paracetamol is a MUST. Where I've been poorly I've been using the wrong nasal spray and muddling them up.. Turns out its 'not suitable for pregnant ladies' keep telling myself 'it's fine' ....
indians I peed a record 3 times last night. Could have been 4. Sooo tired.
scase you sound like you need a good rest. Do you have any days off together soon? Or any holiday to take? Sounds like you could do with some down time and rest

Oh and to add to the joys and things to sort out- someone crashed into my car this evening on the way to work. I'm fine (just shaken) and only cosmetic.. Just something I could have really done without...

I'm in the headache club too Also in the wee club - but tbh I wee about once an hour even when I'm not pregnant so I haven't had much trouble adjusting. If anything it's quite nice to have an excuse if I need to walk out midway through a meeting!

I'm also looking for members to join me in the spotty face club!!!
