"Trodden a good sized path..." Grin

I am definitely aiming for sneeze birth. We should write a hypno-sneeze birthing course and make our millions. May ladies say sneeze your way to an easy labour.

Oh goodness, a fortnight ago my poor tootle was only 9th percentile! I just want tomorrow done now to find out what's going on. I'm wide awake - pregnancy insomnia is just unbelievable!

Sleep dust to everyone else and especially to the toddlers out there with heavily pregnant mums, stay in your own cot/bed Grin

katienana · 29/04/2016 02:48

Soooo I'm in hospital feeding my beautiful baby boy! Born at 7.30pm after being induced. I'll give a full update in due course but it w3nt so well and I feel great. So different to my experience with my eldest.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 29/04/2016 05:52

Yay congrats Katie!! Thanks for the update and enjoy the gorgeous newborn snuggles while the rest of us moan about belly-drag and insomnia!! Wink

ODog · 29/04/2016 06:01

Congrats katie. They are coming thick and fast now.

Your sleep dust did not reach my toddler ice. He was in with me at1am, wriggled and talked in his sleep all night, wide awake and asking for "downstairs and milk" at 5.30am. Yawn....

Icecappedpinetrees · 29/04/2016 06:51

Hi ODog, yes, a thousand curses upon that sleep dust. I got back to sleep at 3am and my toddler came through at 4am and walked straight into the wood at the end of our bed, he didn't settle so he's been awake and is now sporting a black eye. And I need to leave him today for the scan so he will be exhausted and left with GPs who can't settle him to a nap Sad.

Many congratulations Katie on the birth of your lovely son! Such a precious time Smile

Pikz · 29/04/2016 06:58

Congratulations Katie

Sorry for all the toddler wake ups.

Feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 29/04/2016 07:01

Ice & Odog it was just not a good sleep night...I've been awake since 4 and cheered when DP's alarm went off at 5.20am as I was so feckin bored of lying in bed awake.

And last night when we went to bed I cried because I didn't want to lay down - because once I do it's too difficult to get up again!! I have barely had a tearful pregnancy (which is weird as I'm a total crybaby normally) but I just couldn't not cry when I thought about it...And then I started trying to explain to DP that I suddenly realised the only thing that will end this difficult situation (being pregnant and constantly knackered/uncomfortable/in pain) is a MORE difficult thing (labour) followed by an EVEN MORE difficult thing (having a newborn) - so my misery was complete!! Confused It's a wonder I got to sleep at all after that!

PearlyFish · 29/04/2016 07:22

Congratulations Katie, lovely news and good to hear it went so much better than your first labour.

Hope those of you waiting for growth scans get reassuring news soon, grouchy, ice and parsnip

Really sorry to hear the insomnia continues Cant. You will be so much more comfortable with baby on the outside! Try to rest and nap when you can x

I'm trying not to feel like this pregnancy is dragging, which it isn't at all because I'm not even due for another week. However, my sister in law was due just before me and had hers over a week early, so it's created a bigger gap than I thought we would have, so I've needed to shift perspective a bit.

Hope everyone is well, looking forward to more baby news!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 29/04/2016 07:35

Yeah, sorry not to be a bit more positive - it's not like me, I promise!!

GrouchyKiwi · 29/04/2016 07:54

Congratulations, Katie! Lovely news.

Good luck to those with growth scans.

Congratulations Katie!

I know I said this last week, but I'm so glad it's the weekend! We were fairly sure this would be our last anyway, but after 3 days with our nephews DH has said it's definite.

Nicky333 · 29/04/2016 10:03

Congratulations Katie!!

odog and parsnip the scans can be up to 20% out either way. I had a growth scan and asked the consultant, plus it says that on my scan notes.

ODog · 29/04/2016 10:40

That feeling when you are just about to give up on getting your toddler to nap and he unexpectedly drops off! Whoop whoop! Now to blitz the house before the nct crew descends with another 3 toddlers. Thought I'd better host before I have 2 to contend with.

39 weeks today - come on baby! But not today I'm too busy and me and DH are squeezing in a date night (even though I hate that phrase - it's just a married couple having dinner really isn't it!?)

29redshoes · 29/04/2016 12:01

Congratulations on your new baby katie!! The floodgates have opened now...who will be next?!

Good luck to all with growth scans coming up today or soon.

I'm rather envious of all you second-timers and your (potential) sneeze births!!

frozensmoothie · 29/04/2016 13:40

Congratulations katie

Good luck to everyone who has growth scans coming up!

Had my 40 week appointment this morning. Midwife wasn't sure if baby was breech again so I've got to have a presentation scan. The only appointment they had was next Friday when I'll be 40+5, so now I'm hoping I don't go into labour before then!!

Pikz · 29/04/2016 15:00

Frozen if it helps I went into early labour with DS and he was breech (no one realised as he had engaged his bum so they all thought it was his head)

I just had an emcs but it wasn't a rushing about stupid one, very calm as its really hard to progress labour with a breech so you have time.

GrouchyKiwi · 29/04/2016 16:58

Yesterday the midwife told me I had to eat and drink more because of the ketones in my urine and it turns out that's really difficult to do! I've had two cups of coffee, 3 cups of various herbal teas, a glass of juice, a glass of elderflower cordial and two glasses of water and bizarrely I still feel a bit dehydrated. I guess that proves that something is going on that shouldn't be.

Hi all, baby has grown really well since last time, still small but everything is working as it should be and baby is happy. I'm so relieved!

ODog - my DS hasn't napped today thanks grandparents meaning we are due a catastrophic meltdown and crying bedtime.

GrouchyKiwi · 29/04/2016 17:37

Great news, ice!

GrouchyKiwi · 29/04/2016 19:08

Argh. Today has been hellish. The children were atrocious and now DH isn't bloody listening to me when I tell him about dinner. (He's cooking because I'm far too tired.) Told him what we were having, told him where to find everything and how long to cook it for. I might as well not have wasted my breath.

Murderous rage describes my mood today.

Wow that was a lot to catch up on!

Sorry about all the non sleeping toddlers, I have a non sleeping 5 year old so I feel your pain! But nothing in comparison to what a newborn is going to be like so enjoying every second of sleep while I can!

Hope everyone's scans go OK and massive congratulations Katie so excited that babies are arriving!

Only 36+3 but was convinced last night something was going to happen! Finally fell asleep and woke up fine but aches and pains are kicking off again now! My mum said this is how she started with my brother but it went on for 3 weeks....Confused fab

TMI question......I have been having quite a lot of what I would have said was discharge for a couple of weeks now, not bloody or anything or I would have said it was the plug coming away. I had lost mine at this point with DS1....can you go into labour without losing it or does it have to go first?

Icecappedpinetrees · 29/04/2016 19:17

Sometimes you just want them to take control, or even a bit of initiative... Rage away, grouchy, rage away...

ParsnipSoup · 29/04/2016 20:28

Sounds like the sleep-dust was faulty last night. I hope those of you with toddlers get a better night's sleep tonight.

Congratulations Kate! Lovely to hear about another "May" baby arriving.

Good news about the scan Ice. I called the scan dept at my hosp this afternoon as I still haven't heard about an appointment time, but no-one picked up. Then at about 6.15 this evening I had a missed call while I was driving that I think probably was the hospital (even though it's a bit late in the day). Sod's law. I know they do scans on the weekend so hoping if I call tomorrow someone can let me know when my scan is.

Grouchy I think I'm easily getting through 8-10 pints of water/squash a day. I don't know how anyone can do anything except drink constantly while pregnant? Just so thirsty all the time!! Probably overshare, but even with all of that my wee still sometimes comes out all dehydrated and dark in colour. It's madness.

notsoold · 29/04/2016 20:37

everything I went into labour twice without losing the plug. Cervical discharge on the other hand......
