wow Sephi that really is amazing I bet your faces were a picture when you got a positive pregnancy test!

This is my second, we have a 5yo DS and this is also a DS. Been having Braxton hicks since week 26....they have been getting much worse the last week or so and it keeps feeling like his feet (hes breech) are going to come out Blush I cant explain the feeling, its not so much pressure, its just very strange!

That is very impressive!! I even had to get my DS to help me sit up in bed yesterday so go you for still managing a squat!!

well I nearly died of embarrassment yesterday, went to pick my DP up from the airport (been on a stag do) and took DS to the toilet, just in the middle of undoing my pants to go for a wee myself when I sneezed......you can imagine what happened BlushBlush I had to come out with all kinds of excuses to my DP as to why I was getting changed when we got home I was far to embarrassed to tell him!! tell me im not alone and this happens to other people!!

Sephipops · 29/03/2016 13:18

Well I nearly fell over the bath and the other half looked like he was debating running down the stairs or fainting. (after going "Ewww! You peed on this!") it's the only time where being asked 'You would tell me if it wasn't mine, wouldn't you?' is acceptable!

I haven't got to that point, I've been close though. Don't know if that ages you feel any better or not....

ODog · 29/03/2016 14:08

I peed myself a bit yesterday laughing at DS's hilarious pronounciation of zebra (basically he just does 2 raspberries). It was obviously karma for being so mean and laughing at him. It wasn't the first 'incident' and it won't be the last. I ended up having electro therapy on my pelvic floor to get it back to normal after DS. It obviously is not up to the task of the fairly large babies I seem to produce.

frozensmoothie · 29/03/2016 14:19

Eeek that's reminded me, I've been a bit slack with the pelvic floor exercises recently!

Found out today that a second person I know who was due at the end of April has just given birth 4 weeks early. Now convinced baby is going to make an appearance next week Shock

Everythinggettingbigger · 29/03/2016 14:33

Electro therapy!! oh my god squeezing and releasing as we speak!! I am terrible I always forget.....seem to have come down with a cold and haven't stopped sneezing but no more accidents.....hopefully it was just a fluke!

should we be packing our hospital bags? has anyone packed yet? I was waiting until I finish work to give me something to do (I don't know how to sit still!) but I will be nearly 35 weeks before I finish.....too late do you think?

how big are we talking ODog....my first was 6lb 11oz...I just have feeling this one is going to be considerably bigger but I don't know why!

ODog · 29/03/2016 14:45

Electro therapy isn't as scary as it sounds. It was strangely relaxing doing it every evening actually.

DS was 8lb 15oz so almost 9lb, although midwife thinks this one will be a bit smaller. The physio said that my pelvic floor issues were down to DS's size, a long pushing stage and constipation in pregnancy so it was a lot of things combined.

I'm 35weeks on Friday and not packed my hospital bag yet, although I have most of the bits to go in it scattered about. Will probably think about doing it in the next week or so.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 29/03/2016 14:49

Hi everyone, wow it's been so long since I've checked in! (I get distracted by the FB group and forget to come back.)

My update is that we've been told baby is measuring 4-5 weeks ahead of where he should be (fundal height). Went to see a consultant who asked us to go back for a 34 week growth scan two weeks today, so they can assess from there. My GDD test was clear so I don't think it's anything to worry about, I expect he's just going to be a big chubby thing - We'll see.

How exciting we've had our first May baby born on the thread! Congratulations Flowers

Everything, I'm 32 + 2 and my hospital bag is pretty much finished and ready. I just need to add things I haven't bought yet - A light dressing gown, slippers and nursing bras (on the way in the post!). It made me feel calm and organised to know that I had done it as I know DH will be a bit useless and forget obvious things if he is left to his own devices in an emergency!

Everythinggettingbigger · 29/03/2016 15:57

Hi Tiffany.....waiting for payday to finish off buying what i need (the likes of crappy knickers which can be thrown in the bin Blush) but you are right my DP would be useless in an emergency situation....i would end up still needing to pack myself! maybe best if i start putting things in with a list of what else is needed so if it does come down to it he can use the list to finish it off for me!

Cant believe how close to the end we are all getting! Anyone else feel like its flying or is it just me?

armyofthree · 29/03/2016 22:05

Hi ladies, I'm new here although not new to motherhood. Have 2 boys - 10 and 4. However feel like I've forgotten everything. I'm 34 weeks and due 11th May. Been working and had no time to organise anything so now nesting like there is no tomorrow. Blush

Everythinggettingbigger · 30/03/2016 09:16

Hi Amy

Congratulations! do you know what this one is?

I kind of nested in the middle and now can't be bothered!! I am 2 weeks behind you though so an extra 2 weeks to get things sorted. started making a list for our hospital bags last night.

I have one DS who is 5 and I feel like im doing this for the first time again!

Katarzyna79 · 30/03/2016 10:56

hi

I'm join in if that's ok feeling a bit lonely. I was due to have a baby a few weeks after a family member she unfortunately had a miscarriage a few weeks ago. I feel so guilty about it, I know it's not logical. But up until then we were making plans together comparing notes sort of feel lonely now. so thought i'd pop in here!

I'm 34 weeks now I know I should pack my bag but haven't I'm not as excited don'tknow whats wrong with me. I have most items just need some large sized pjs a jersery knee length nightshirt for delivery, slippers maternity bras. I have all the baby stuff so not concerned about myself.

I have 4 kids 9 and under completely shattered when I wake up I don't feel like I slept enough.

anyone due near my date may 11th?

GunShotResidue · 30/03/2016 11:11

Welcome to those who are new :)

I've had my hospital bag packed for ages, mostly because of the move though. I read on here that of you've already set up baby's crib/basket you should throw the bits you think you'll need into it so that is easy to explain to DH where everything is! I've put in a few extra bits incase of a longer hospital stay.

I have started wearing pantyliners just incase Blush. I had a 'traumatic' forceps birth with DD (I was fairly out of it so it didn't even seem very stressful to me!) and needed a lot of physiotherapy afterwards.

I pulled some muscles in my groin and lower belly yesterday running after DD (who has hit the terrible twos and is very defiant) so I'm feeling very sorry for myself at the minute!

armyofthree · 30/03/2016 17:31

Hey what have you guys put in your hospital bag? Started with a few things and now thinking I have to do more shopping before I can go further.

GunShotResidue I completely sympathise because I had really bad pelvic pain a few weeks ago and thought I would be on crutches till I went to see an osteopath. Best thing I did!

Katarzyna79 We are the same due date! Wow you have 4 already?

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 30/03/2016 20:58

Hello new to the thread May mums!

Meanwhile, uurggggghhh something went out of whack in my pelvis this morning - managed to get in a quick osteopath appointment but even with that I can barely walk. I'm friends with the main osteopath ( not the one who squeezed me in today) and he called my mobile tonight to say "so, I hear you have SPD..." - wahh!! I didn't think I ACTUALLY have it already, just that if I wasn't careful I might get it! Feeling very sorry for myself and almost unable to walk today, looks like I might be working from home tomorrow - I need this to not go full-blown on me!

ODog · 30/03/2016 21:09

Welcome army and kat.

sorry to hear about the spd cant. A friend of mine had it really severely from 25weeks and it was horrendous.

Anyone watch one born? I just caught up tonight and someone of the exact gestation as I am today gave birth to a baby that passed meconium (as DS did). Baby looked awful when it was born and it scared me a bit. Always assume they will be fine from around now if they were born but it spooked me a bit.

Feeling so much pressure at the moment. Never had this with DS as he didn't engage until labour. Looking forward to the scan on Tuesday to see what she's actually up to in there.

GunShotResidue · 30/03/2016 23:54

army I've put in:

Lansinoh
Distilled Witch Hazel
Maternity pads
Glucose tablets
Bottle of water
Nightie (for labour)
Button up pj's (for breastfeeding)
Spare pj bottoms
10x pants
Breast pads
Going home clothes
Light dressing gown
Spare phone charger

Nappies
Water wipes
Clothes for baby
Blanket for baby

Even though I've done this before I feel like I'm clueless, I can't remember much! I know I didn't use my thick dressing gown as it was too warm, so I'm taking a lighter one this time. Lansinoh and witch hazel I didn't have before but found both invaluable afterwards, without Lansinoh I would have given up breastfeeding and a bit of witch hazel on the maternity pads really helped sooth my stitches. I'll probably end up adding more, but the hospital is just around the corner from a 24h Tesco's, so I plan on sending DH out for anything I've forgotten!

Everythinggettingbigger · 31/03/2016 08:42

Hi to all the new ladies!

Kat I know the feeling, when I was pregnant with my first I was actually 6 weeks behind my sister, my niece was stillborn at 28 weeks due to severe pre-eclampsia ending in an eclamptic fit, doctors/GP/Midwife fault as non of them picked up on any of her symptoms even though we all said we thought that's what was up with her. I felt really awkward mentioning my pregnancy but my family were really good and I was shocked at how well my sister coped (I suspect when I wasn't there it was a different story for her). Shes since gone on to have 2 DS's!

sorry about the SPD cant, it must not be nice, as if we aren't struggling enough without having SPD thrown into the mix!

ODog I watched one born, DS did the same thing but literally as he was coming out so was no where near as severe a situation as that but that's why I had an episotmy and forceps, to get him out and sorted quicker as he wasn't coming quick enough! what freaked me out more was that was the exact room I gave birth to DS in!!! all the memories of the alarm sounding and Drs and Midwives coming rushing in Blush I was out of it by then so didn't seem as much of a big deal to me at the time Gun its not until you are told afterwards that you realise how bad it was do you?

Anyway, ive switched from Liverpool Womens to a different hospital this time, so I definitely wont be seeing that room again!

Gun where do I buy the witch hazel? seems like a must buy lol does it have to be distilled?

Sephipops · 31/03/2016 09:10

I am stealing that list for the hospital bag. I'm utterly clueless! I'm also slightly in denial... If I don't pack the hospital bag then I won't go into labour right?!

Katarzyna79 · 31/03/2016 09:26

everythinhgettingbiggernice to meet soneone who understands how i feel.

I better just order my nightwear get it packed husband wont do it he's always asleep whilst im in labour. Wakes up refreshed drives me down the good life.

armyofthree · 31/03/2016 11:46

Thanks gun for the list. I feel so unprepared -have lots of things I need to get. A friend gave me a pack of maternity disposable pants but I remember them being horrendous last time. Thinking of getting a multipack of cheap cotton ones I can throw away later.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 31/03/2016 11:46

So I'm actually much more mobile today (thank god) and seeing the osteopath again tomorrow, so hopefully I will avoid the worst of the dreaded SPD.
Meanwhile, I've been awake since 3.30am and am currently hiding in my office ...all sorts of politics going on at work that I shouldn't care about when I'm about to go on maternity leave but I DO care, so I decided to get involved and make a recommendation - and my boss totally shut me down on the phone and I ended up sobbing in my office. Bloody hormones!!

armyofthree · 31/03/2016 12:09

Cant don't care about it. Easy for me to say but put your feet up, have some chocolate and put on some feel-good music (assuming you can do that at your workplace). Let them deal with the crap and you focus on yourself and inwardly gloat that you don't have to very soon!

I was the same at work but once I mentally switched off, I was so much happier!

Good luck

katienana · 31/03/2016 13:43

Hi all, just wanted to join the party! Due May 3rd with dc2.

GunShotResidue · 01/04/2016 00:15

Welcome katie :)

everything I used this last time: m.boots.com/h5/cat_hub?unCountry=uk&path=/en/Boots-Distilled-Witch-Hazel-B-P-C-200ml-_1132125/
It says not to use on broken skin, but it was what was recommended to me. Probably worth checking with your midwife though!

Glad your feeling more mobile cant

army I've just bought cheap cotton pants again, never liked the look of the disposable ones!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 01/04/2016 07:59

Everyone is being so organised with their hospital bags, I have (so far) bought one pack of maternity pads and vaguely considered which bag I will use!

DP is away for work for a few nights and I have just had a really scary thought...he doesn't have any more trips planned after this (as I'm 35 weeks now and could be a bit dicey), so....does this mean that last night and tonight are the last nights I will spend home alone for about the next 15 years??? Because he will go away once the baby is here, but then I'm not alone alone, am I? And I love being alone!!

has minor freak out in a corner
