Hope you feel better soon Suz.

I didn't want it to come to this but I think I have to get the incontinence pants now. I'm on day 12 of The Cold and its not showing any signs of going away; every time I start coughing my pelvic floor just gives up completely. Its so embarassing. Yesterday I had to leave ds with a complete stranger in john lewis while I made a quick dash for the loo. She was very nice though and didn't try to kidnap him which I was grateful for.

IndomitabIe · 31/01/2016 10:27

Yeah, in no way could I be described as 'glamorous'. Not even ironically!

I'm going to get DH to get our old buggy down so I can check it & clean it up. Quite glad the infant seat bit stayed in the house and so hasn't gone mouldy in the garage.

Yes! DH is taking DS swimming!

IndomitabIe · 31/01/2016 10:29

Oh no, Trinpy! Good job it was JL, no riff raff in there! (Well, except when they let us in!)

Paperblank · 31/01/2016 10:39

Morning!!

Had a proper full on sobbing attack last night - so upset I threw up!

DH works in the prison service and got stuck at work sorting out utter bastards some prisoners who had decided to act like little fuckers barricade themselves into their cells.

He was 3 hours late home (11.30 pm - should have been back by 8.00 pm)by which time I was frantic.

Rationally I know if he has to go into a riot situation he is very very safe. I know he can't just pop and give me a call to let me know what's going on and I know that if I ring the jail they aren't going to pick up the phone as they will be all hands on deck.

When he eventually came home I just burst into hysterical tears. Took me ages to calm down.

He's gone to work today and I've said if anyone messes about he's got to say "look chaps...my wife is pregnant. Behave yourself because if I have to get my riot kit on she's gonna be so mad she will come down here and kick your ass into the middle of next year. If you think I'm scary wait till she shows up"

Today is a sofa day...with chocolate and copious amounts of tea.

Hey girls, definitely a lazy one for me today. Can't stop going to the toilet, my little acrobate is kicking my bladder like there's no tomorrow definitely need to invest In some panty liners, or just practice on my pelvic floor exercise Blush

Two weeks left at work and I can't wait just want to stay in bed all day I feel useless and I really want to start cleaning but have no energy Sad

sherazade · 31/01/2016 12:08

Oh dear paper, hope he has a good day today!
Rosie I was on the loo about every ten minutes yesterday. And my morning sickness is back Sad also absolutely starving but all night long

MyNameIsSuz · 31/01/2016 12:10

Oh no paper, that sounds horrible! Hopefully you're feeling better today?

I'm exactly the same Rosie, so much I want to do but am having to make do with short bursts of cleaning and lots of lying down in between. Very frustrating.

sherazade · 31/01/2016 12:35

I think I'm turning into a newborn. Sleeping during the day and eating through the night Grin

IndomitabIe · 31/01/2016 14:48

It'll mitigate the new-baby-shock then Sher! Sorry to hear about the ms returning though.

I have no urge to clean ever. But I have planned for the wholeish week! (So I can do marking later. Boo)

So DS went out with DH this morning. Am I allowed to just let him play iPad/watch TV/films all afternoon now?

Rosieblossom123 · 31/01/2016 14:51

Oh no Sher that's so annoying I hope my morning sickness don't come back, I remember how horrible my first trimester was Sad hope not long left now Flowers

Mynameis isn't it frustrating!! There's so much tidying up to do and sorting out but not enough time. I'd much rather have my hot chocolate, biscuits and feel my acrobat move than do anything else.

Paperblank · 31/01/2016 15:41

Thank you Smile I'm Mrs Calm today. I totally got myself in a state last night.

The stupid thing is, one of our best friends is a senior manager at the jail and if anything had happened to DH he would have been here in a heartbeat (as it was he was with DH sorting them out - they are both part of the national squad who go out to riots and control prisoners).

I should imagine the last thing DH needed last night was a hysterical, snotty, pukey wife sobbing into his shoulder - a fag and a beer might have been more appropriate.

Am going to re-pack my hospital bag (last time! I promise) and eat percy pigs. I bought them for labour but somehow they have magically opened and some have accidentally fallen in my mouth Shock

Crispylicious · 31/01/2016 15:52

tribpy you have made me feel so much better! I've been leaking a bit of pee when I have one of my massive coughing fits too. Had a little big hysterical weep about it yesterday. Kept worrying I'd coughed so hard I'd broken my waters!

paper that sounds like some scary shit your DH does for a job! Pleased all is ok now. Naughty prisoners. I keep adding things to my hospital bag. It's going to be 2 suitcases and a bag soon...

sher Grin at behaving like a newborn.

We've been sorting stuff out today too. There's just SO much washing to be done. And I'm not even washing the new baby stuff, just the secondhand stuff and things we used with DD that'd been in the loft/storage.

IndomitabIe · 31/01/2016 16:02

BREAKING NEWS!!

"Runny eggs 'safe' for pregnant women to eat, says report"

"Almost 30 years after eggs were linked to salmonella, those with the British Lion stamp can now be 'served raw or lightly cooked to all groups in society', a report finds"

Reported in the Independent just now. I got too excited and haven't read it all now. (I've been eating runny eggs since I was pg with DS in 2010!)

MrsBenWyatt · 31/01/2016 18:16

Bags finally packed here!the earliest they talked about delivery was 37 weeks (now 35) so thought I should get round to it.

Despite it being third time around, I am still not convinced I have all I will need. It's the smallest bag I have ever used though Grin

Me624 · 31/01/2016 18:26

Well done MrsBen, I'm also 35 weeks and I packed mine last weekend, I'm a first timer though and think I have gone a bit overboard! I have a cabin sized suitcase for my stuff which is absolutely stuffed full, a changing bag with the baby's stuff in it, and then DH will bring his own satchel with things for him and snacks/water etc.

Indom I've been eating runny eggs all the way through too, as long as I know they're lion stamped. I didn't eat them runny when DH and I were in Spain just in case. I've also eaten a fair bit of goats cheese and brie bad pregnant woman

Does anyone else's baby seem to get hiccups as much as mine does? He seems to have them at least 3 times a day, sometimes more! Sitting through another round now!

maybebabybee · 31/01/2016 19:24

Me I have exactly what you have - one cabin sized bag, one changing bag and one bag for DP.

Baby gets hiccups at least twice a day. At my NCT class today a lot of the ladies were saying theirs does too :)

Rosieblossom123 · 31/01/2016 19:39

Me I was thinking about the same thing earlier Shock She keeps getting hiccups nearly two or three times a day and I was getting worried haha it's so cute though when you think about it Smile
I'm 35 weeks too and my hospital

Bags are in the car, dp was like you're not going to give birth abroad you're only down the road! Yep I know that but you never know what you might need, better be safe than sorry haha

Luckygirlcharlie · 31/01/2016 20:26

Was just thinking I should pack my bag too! Also going to move my leave a bit forward as I have got to that stage now. Breathless, heartburn, can't bend forward etc. Baby headbutts my bladder, elbow jabs my ribs and kicks my bloody sternum! The only advice I'd give first timers re hosp bags is take a good sized one as people will bring all sorts of stuff when they visit - we got balloons, clothes and what seemed like all the jellycat toys in the local gift shop! Hope DS 2 gets stuff too. Poor thing. I'm already worried about him having no new things ! X

Paperblank · 31/01/2016 21:19

Baby's bag is done.
Spare stuff bag is done and in the nursery.
My bag is done (just gotta stick a cardigan in it)
My bits and bobs bag is mostly done, just got to put phone charger, glasses etc in that one.
DH had been told countless times to sort his bag out and is wondering if he is allowed to go "off list" Hmm I've agreed as long as off list items are additional to and not instead of.

My mum hasn't packed her Nanny bag...AND SHE'S STILL KNITTING!! She's frantically trying to finish the baby's shawl Grin

We've just packed our bags just need to get another nighty, nursing bra and loose clothes for me to come home in & we're sorted. Have also just packed my mummy bag for everyday. Do pleased with my lovely mammas and pappas bag it's perfect & very light & I love the colour. OH was so sweet and thoughtful when we were packing. And we are both SO excited about baby's arrival that I don't think I'll sleep tonight!
Also went to friends baby shower today. Had such a nice time and everyone was so lovely and interested in my bump too. Can't wait for our baby shower now.

paper a nanny bag is such a good idea

I've not had any showing of milk yet and am FTM.

Sleep well everyone!

gemsparkle84 · 01/02/2016 00:03

Hi all Smile

Just completed my last shift. I was so emotional knowing I'm not going to be working with hubby for the foreseeable. We're such an amazing team. Daft things like getting ready together on a morning, calling for a coffee on the way. We're going to really miss it.

Have loved seeing everyone's prams. We out our up a few days ago and it's found its place under the stairs. We went for a Bugaboo Buffalo- it's stunning.

Me I'm so glad someone said about the hiccups, my baby gets them 3/4 times a day! I was beginning to get worried too!

I'm at the midwife tomorrow. Can't wait. I'm finding it a little difficult to manage my anxiety. Any tiny knock and I panic I've hurt her, if she hiccups too much I panic. My health anxiety is a little bit controlled but I put my worries to her! Trying to use my CBT techniques but it's very difficult.

Indom I'm glad about that report, I've been eating runny eggs all the way through. Well not snotty but SOFT.

Sher hope you're feeling good and your morning sickness doesn't get bad.

Hope everyone ok Brew

ffauxlivia · 01/02/2016 01:11

Hi all, well done on all the hospital bags!!

I had a kind of baby shower today! Didn't want one, thought I would hate it as I hate attention and feel bad getting gifts, but here it's so normal my friends insisted on it. In the end we just had a very chilled brunch and people brought their favorite childhood books. Our little one now has a huge library already, people were so thoughtful!

I was so touched - especially as we only arrived here a year ago. This time last year it was fricking freezing, we were lonely and missed home, and I was convinced we would never be able to have a baby - I would never have imagined being in this position today. So feel very loved and blessed ..... argh sorry that sounds so cringey, America must be rubbing off on me too much!!

Have my 32 week scan tomorrow (Monday) to check placenta position and will find out if I'm having a c-section. Very nervous as I never seem to get a normal scan without something to worry about

paper I laughed at the percy pigs! I'm actually having my mum send over M&S wine gums and percy pigs especially for my hospital bag as miss M&S sweets so much!!

Me624 · 01/02/2016 06:53

Morning all, back to CSC last night for me Sad but I've got a 4 day week this week yay! Really feels like I'm on the home straight now.

gem I've got 3 weeks of work left and I'm looking forward to finishing but I'm also starting to get a bit emotional about leaving! I get on really well with all my team, genuinely enjoy socialising with them and bantering away every day so I'm going to miss that. That feeling must be double for you because your team is your DH!

Glad everyone else's babies have lots of hiccups too!

ffaux what a great mum sending you emergency Percy Pigs and wine gums. I work opposite an M&S and I adore Percy Pigs (the veggie ones - I'm a vegetarian, I was so excited when they brought out veggie ones!), Colin the Caterpillars and the toffee chocolate eclairs! There is an M&S food in my hospital so I will be sending DH off to purchase me care packages when I get peckish during labour!

MyNameIsSuz · 01/02/2016 07:03

Oh no me, I'm joining you back in the csc, woke up so many times!

Very impressed with all this bag packing, I will get mine done soon but I don't know where I'm going to put it! Have written a list. What is everyone doing about a bag for the older kids? I'm going to pack ds a bag to take to granny's but don't want to do it too early as he still needs everything! Like if I pack his dressing gown and slippers now, he might want them at home first. Pack a bag when in early labour? Get to my due date and pack one then?

MrsElls · 01/02/2016 07:56

Hmm the last couple of days I keep getting a feeling like I'm 'leaking' but my underwear is only ever slightly damp not wet like you'd expect if my waters had gone or even if they were leaking I guess. Last night was awake for 3 hours with tightenings every 10-15 mins or so coupled with period like cramps. Strong bh or mild contractions. Who knows??? I thought this is it but then fell back asleep and nothing now. I'm a stm and with ds I had the textbook birth, woke up, waters broke, contractions started within mins and 5 hours later he was here. No bh at all. Guess I thought this one would be even quicker so this is just damn confusing! Don't want to go to hospital for them to tell me I'm leaking wee and having bh (and I should have done pelvic floor exercises!).
