Many congratulations, Scared. She is gorgeous! Well done!

Sher it is so upsetting. If I hadn't given birth before I would have been sure I was in labour. Terrible shooting pains today, like nothing I have experienced before!

BeautifulLiar · 16/02/2016 11:36

sherazade congrats on reaching term with me and maybe :)

I learnt to ignore false alarms with my last baby until she started crowning and DH had to deliver her and I realised perhaps I was in labour

But (TMI) last night me and DH dtd - it's been a while - and I had a few contractions afterwards. It's good though because I like to think my body is getting prepared and labour will therefore be shorter.

I've not been interested in sex for a while, don't remember the last time we did anything.

Then the other morning just before DH went to work I said saucily "Lots of BJs for you tonight!" Well his face absolutely lit up and in shock he replied "Yeah?!"

"Yep!" I said. "Bin jobs! You need to take the blue bin out, bring the black bin in, empty the kitchen bin..."

Awww he was so disappointed :)

ffauxlivia · 16/02/2016 11:36

scared a massive congratulations! I also have a tear in my eye here, you did it!!!! Well done!! Can't wait to hear her name but first go get some rest!!!!

MyNameIsSuz · 16/02/2016 11:38

Wow scared, congratulations!!! That's fantastic news.

shieldbug · 16/02/2016 11:42

Congratulations scared, what a beautiful girl. Hope you are feeling really proud at what you have achieved; you have been amazing through everything. I'm going round with a big grin thanks to this newest arrival.

Pug hope you are ok.

MrsBen Are you sure it's not the real thing??!

scaredmum2be · 16/02/2016 11:42

Thank you all

She is still nameless. Any ideas? I thought when I saw her I would know but I don't. Had some food and drink etc and feel a it better now. Oh and I haven't needed to wee yet. First time in ages I've held on for over three hours before. It really is true when they say you know when you need to push. Wow the sensation is overwhelming and it's the best feeling when that head is out. I didn't feel the sting of the crown- that was actually the best sensation of all- all the pressure went.
You can all do this!- if I did you can to! And I can't wait to see everyone else's little babies Arriving. also I hope I didn't scare anyone with my labour story. Don't be scared- it is 100 per cent worth every single second.

BumpPower · 16/02/2016 11:44

Beautiful baby scared

Me624 · 16/02/2016 11:45

Congratulations scared!

TheMshipIsBack · 16/02/2016 11:50

Congratulations scared! You've been so strong, now get some sleep!

IndomitabIe · 16/02/2016 11:51

Hi BumpPower, (and the others I neglected to mention earlier, Blush sorry!). Everyone's welcome!

Eek! CONGRATULATIONS Scared!! ThanksThanks You trooper, you did it! Well done you! She's beautiful! xx (ooh, tearing up, it's been a right old mission for you. I'm so pleased for you and and proud of you).

Beaut, honestly it's easy compared to being with small children 24/7. DH and I have a very high mess threshold, so the house is a state, but I'm not overly bothered! As for laundry, it goes through the machines ok, but then sits in IKEA bags till the weekend! (Or beyond, in this case). Good luck with the midwives.

QforCucumber · 16/02/2016 11:54

Well done scared though I don't know you personally I'm so very proud of you and the fact that you did it! So very well done she's adorable. Also so glad that you're feeling fine, all that sickness and worry I'm hoping was well worth it now you look at her Grin

marmiteandcheeseplease · 16/02/2016 11:55

Congratulations scared! You did it! Hope you get some well earned rest now. You've got plenty of time to give her a name as you get to know your daughter over the coming days Smile

I've also reached term today yay! Just put my natal hypnotherapy track on and had a lie down - fell asleep almost straight away. Whoops! Feels good to have had a little nap though Smile

Crispylicious · 16/02/2016 12:02

Congrats scared!!!!! She is a little beaut! So so pleased for you and hope you can now get on with enjoying her and recovering yourself x

hayleycookie · 16/02/2016 12:08

AHHHHHHHHHH congratulations Scared!! You did it!! What was her weight? I bet you're so proud of yourself (as you should be!) You did it!!!! Hope she gets the hang of feeding soon for you. So happy for you!!!!

sherazade · 16/02/2016 12:12

join the term club marmite, funny how quite a few of us are due on the exact same day. Right ladies we need more babies on this thread anyone agree haha

IndomitabIe · 16/02/2016 12:20

Agreed, Sher.

I've still got more than 5 weeks left. I'm going to need some birth stories & babies to keep me going!

vroc81 · 16/02/2016 13:27

Agreed! Although slightly disheartened at 37 weeks yesterday that a MW friend took one look at me and went "ooh you're going to be late...long pause while I looked clearly disgusted....but i'm a Midwife we're always wrong" should she say this again next time my retort to that will be "ooh is your house falling down? I'm an engineer, I'm always right"

TriJo · 16/02/2016 13:52

Congratulations scared - she's beautiful! :)

docmcstuffins1 · 16/02/2016 14:00

Wooooooohoooooooo! Well done Scared she's beautiful! So pleased for you Flowers

Right, I want my baby now come on baby!

Welcome to all the newbies, as you can see we're an excitable chatty bunch so feel free to get stuck in!

docmcstuffins1 · 16/02/2016 14:02

Anyone else got an antenatal health visitor appointment? Mine's due to come round in about half an hour so had to rush home from work early shame! for a quick tidy up!

TriJo · 16/02/2016 14:05

doc I was supposed to have one on Thursday but she just rang at lunchtime to reschedule to the first week in March.

BumpPower · 16/02/2016 14:09

doc I had one with last baby. She came around with a knitted green boob and Teddy bear!!! I get that breastfeeding and education about it is v important but.i remember thinking of all the things I don't know about breastfeeding I did know where the nipple went in relation to the baby so didn't need the rather sereal demo!

MrsBenWyatt · 16/02/2016 14:17

Doc I had one last week (third baby). Most pointless thing ever! Had a questionnaire to go through. Choice questions were:

When you think about your childhood, how do you feel?
How did your parents punish you when you were naughty?
Who was the most important person to you growing up?

Obviously I know all about BF etc, so it was a bit of a waste of time, especially as she is HV for DS and has met us before/seen the house/ seen us as a family. I did enquire when I was given the appointment if I needed one as it is DC3, but I was told everyone has to have one! Hmm

RhubarbAndMustard · 16/02/2016 14:19

I saw that a HV visit was in the schedule in our maternity folders but haven't heard anything as yet. I assumed it was just for FTM's but obviously not!

ffauxlivia · 16/02/2016 14:22

I've still got 5 weeks too, waaaah! Convinced I'm going to be the last one in the group, overdue with an April baby please don't leave me on my own in here No idea how I'm going to be able to drag my arse into work at 40+10 though! We normally get the bus in but got a car recently and we drove today, it was heavenly. Might have to suck up the parking charges and start driving in every day soon. It's just so hard carrying a laptop in every day.

Is baby brain a thing before the baby gets here? I frequently can't strong sentences together because I've forgotten the word for something simple! And everyday I make a flask of hot milky tea each for DH and I (as Americans don't do tea and there are no kettles in the offices!) .... this morning we get to work and discover I forgot to put milk in them :(

beaut Grin

welcome bump

marmite yay to baby not being breech! I felt hiccups way down in my pelvis this morning, towards my bottom, so am hoping that's a good sign.
