Yay, it's a great feeling isn't it maybe?! I was always convinced mine would be late, so I added on 14 days to the due date and then absolutely packed my calendar with stuff. Then they were on time and I had to cancel everything!

8 days until I get my induction date, although the scans have been fine for 5 weeks so I'm still debating whether to fuck it off and have a home birth. I definitely will if I go into labour before the date!

I just ate a Yorkie raisin and biscuit. Really should try to sleep ffs!

Hope pug is ok and everyone is enjoying mat leave? Half term is interesting with three DC annoying the hell out of me but I'm enjoying the lack of school runs!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 16/02/2016 06:36

Morning all - been up since 5am again ugh!

Hang in there scared you'll be OK. Soo. You'll have your baby in your arms Smile

beautiful hope you manage to get your home birth! Fingers crossed I do too!

I've read some horror stories on ECV but I think the problem with reading them is they overstate the risk in your mind - everything I've read suggests that the risk is low and I'd certainly be checking who was going to do my ECV and how experienced they were. I guess my view is you could just as easily read horror stories from vaginal births and then decide you wanted a c-section to avoid them (although it is slightly different). But in any case it's always a personal decision and for me, I really really don't want a c-section Confused

sherazade · 16/02/2016 06:44

Had ecv done three times and in 'those days' they didn't even put you on monitoring , without an ultrasound and without a drip to relax the uterus it was pretty much a case of the consultant wrestling with my fetus / belly . Didn't work for me as it turned out when she was born than cord was round her neck. Wasn't agonising but was fairly painful although would have done anything at the time to have her turned . Certainly wasn't a nightmare .

magpiedreams · 16/02/2016 07:14

scared you're really going through it but you're doing great, try to focus on the end point.

How exciting getting to term beautiful and maybe! Any day...!

I had a broken night's sleep up there in the top 5 worst night ever I think! DH away, DD kept coming though into my bed but not sleeping in the spare half, sleeping with her face on top of mine and she has a cold so mouth breathing and smells like something has died in her mouth. Coupled with a cough and cold myself and worst of all DS waking and crying every time he coughed and at one point had a temp of 41 Shock

IndomitabIe · 16/02/2016 07:25

Morning all,

Hang in there scared. We're still all with you.

Oh no, magpie. Hope the three of you can have a restful day after such a broken night.

Yay for term Beaut & maybe! Here's hoping you've got less than 5 weeks to wait (and that you're allowed your home birth, Beaut).

You know, it's Tuesday, the beginning of day 4 of half term and the 3rd day without DH and (though I've said it before) I've so much respect for SAHPs! I'm quite proud of my achievements these few days (mostly that I have cooked thanks in part to you! and DS, usually a fussy oik, has actually eaten), but it's way more tiring than WOH. You're incredible, Beaut, and anyone else that does it!

maybebabybee · 16/02/2016 07:45

rosie hasn't posted in a while has she? Hope all is OK.

Me624 · 16/02/2016 07:57

Sorry you had a rough night magpie. I slept well but DH was ill yesterday with a stomach bug so I'm a bit paranoid that I'm going to get it which I really don't want! He seems a lot better this morning so at least if I do get it, it seems to be one of those 24 hour ones. I insisted on us both using hand gel last night and I used a different toilet to the one he'd been in all day!

Yay to reaching term Beautiful and maybe! Especially Beaut as a few weeks ago it looked like you might not be! I hope you go into labour on your own so you get your home birth.

37+4 today for me, and 4 more days of work. Being the last one this week is going to absolutely crawl by!

MrsBenWyatt · 16/02/2016 08:51

How is it only Tuesday of half-term? Up most of the night with more false labour pains (and another nocturnal bath) and I now have to entertain DD and DS.

I know that sounds terrible and they are both so good and well-behaved, but all I want to do is lie around and sleep! Two weeks tomorrow and I will be in hospital waiting for theatre!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 16/02/2016 09:13

Sorry to hear you've had more false labour pains mrsben. Hope your DD and DS are little angels today!

magpie you have my sympathy re terrible child breath. DD has a cold at the moment and when I picked her up from grandmas yesterday and gave her a kiss I had a nasty shock at how smelly her breath was, couldn't deal with having it breathed into my face all night!

Just has scan. Baby not breech yay. But also not engaged (despite MW at 36 weeks saying she was 2/5). Back on the left which is good but sonographer commented that baby is very active and she was changing position lots and limbs were all over the place. Apparently she has lots of room and probably what I can feel down low is her head moving around and her stretching her arm. Sonographer reckoned baby wouldn't engage until I go into labour. So lots of sitting on my ball over the next few weeks to get baby into good position!

Realised today that DPs mum and dad are going on holiday for a week on Saturday and I'll be 38 weeks next week and they're our cover for looking after DD when I go into labour! So having to sort out a back up plan just in case. I do think I will go over my due date again but sods law I'll be early this time...

scared hope you are doing ok.

RhubarbAndMustard · 16/02/2016 09:16

Congrats to those that have reached term! Not long for any of us now Grin.

Scared hope things are picking up for you this morning. I'm in awe of how strong you have been so far. Must be exhausting!

Welcome pickle and Charley. Good to have you on board!

Has anyone else got a really painful tummy at night? It's so painful when I turn over. I'm wondering if it's separated stomach muscles as it does feel muscular. No problems at all during the day but it panics me at night that something is wrong. It's quite a sharp pain.

Still got until next thurs before I'm on maternity leave (groan). Trying to keep busy at work so it goes faster but hard to concentrate when all I'm thinking about is having a newborn soon.

IndomitabIe · 16/02/2016 09:30

Ooh that's good marmite. I've heard second babies tend to 'bob in & out' and not really engage till labour.
I get lots of rummaging around low down too (but the feet at the top have been very pronounced too).

Not had that Rhu. Only the occasional round ligament pain. If you ask your midwife might they be able to refer you to physio for after birth? (I don't know if this is a thing, but I feel like it should be!)

I think yesterday tired me out. Just had a nap on the sofa while DS finished breakfast/watched CBeebies!

Paperblank · 16/02/2016 09:38

Waves hello to pickle & charley

scared how are you this morning? Hope your little girl arrives today Grin

I've just spoken to my midwife...she's told me to bounce, drink raspberry leaf tea and have lots of sex! Induction is booked for 8.00 an Monday. Eeek!

TriJo · 16/02/2016 09:38

Finishing up next Friday here. I feel like I could work on if I was working from home, but the commute is doing my head in and mine isn't particularly bad by London standards.

Looking forward to a little time off before our little guy arrives, I need a haircut, a wax, I want to do lunch with the hubby a few times, need to make up the cot... and just chill out in general.

maybebabybee · 16/02/2016 09:46

Oh god, I hope no one tells me to have loads of sex. We haven't done it since December 27 Blush. Can't think of anything I want to do less at the moment, haha!

rhubarb I occasionally get a sharp stitch like pain in my tummy if I turn over too quickly...is yours anything like that?

RhubarbAndMustard · 16/02/2016 09:58

Maybe it is a bit. Quite sharp down the centre of my tummy and really painful to turn over. If I get up for the toilet it's still very sore. Like I've pulled a muscle. If it wasn't for sore hips I'd think twice about moving. I've looked up symptoms of UTI and detached placenta which I first worried about but that doesn't fit. Think it's probably just weak muscles (tummy always been my problem area and c sec not going to help l!)

Tri we should have a finishing work party next week. I'm so lucky I'm mostly working from home. I did the commute last time but relieved not having to this time round. I have a once a week 40 min car journey to the office and that's enough.

Paper Monday! How exciting. Can't wait to see pics of all these babies.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 16/02/2016 10:17

rhubarb I also get pain sometimes in night when turning over and my muscles are def seperated so could be that.

Have walked into town from hospital to do a bit of window shopping. Back and hips suddenly hurting so think I've overdone it with walking, whoops. Sat in Starbucks with some yoghurt muesli as was starving. Wish I had got their unhealthy bit amazing fruit toast but for some reason decided to be goo, errrr why?! was gonna go to primark to get some comfy lounge gear but think I'll give it a miss and go home and sit on my arse for rest of the day!

BumpPower · 16/02/2016 10:26

Ladies is it far too late to join you all?
I'm due DC2 on the 14th March. Finally on maternity leave so have time to mnet!
DS1 is nearly 2, same due date as bump but he was 11days late. I've had words with Bump about punctuality as I don't fancy being overdue again! Unfortunately DS has just got chicken pox!!! I've had it before so no risk but I'm no longer wishing I have bump early as chicken pox in newborns is no joke. That being said I'm sitting on the sofa mnnetting whilst he watching "dinosaurs" on TV so not too taxing!

scaredmum2be · 16/02/2016 10:48

8:52am.
Dilated from 1-10 in 1 hour 45. An hour to push her out. 2nd degree tear.
She breathed on her own straight away but is now in special care to establish feeding but she is fine just a bit small.
I'm in shock how quick it went when it got going properly and feel a bit shaky now.

magpiedreams · 16/02/2016 10:58

Wow scared congratulations!!! Of course you feel shakey, what a physical and emotional shock but, you did it, you got your daughter here safely and you're both ok. That's incredible.
Hope you can get some rest now. Enjoy her!! x

BeautifulLiar · 16/02/2016 11:06

OMG scared congratulations!! I am soooo jealous of her birth date - 16.2.16, how cool is that?! I'm so bloody proud of you girl!!

Oh and Indomitable that's really kind but I don't know how you manage work and children!! Like how do you have time to do laundry?! God knows how I'll manage when the time comes!

I got barely any sleep last night so I am being an absolute bitch today. Thank god my friend is coming round at lunch time. I doubt I'll murder my children in front of her...

Just can't waiting to see the midwife and try to get my home birth assessment booked in. Really hope it's not the midwife who keeps calling me Lauren (my name's Kat) Confused

maybebabybee · 16/02/2016 11:10

Scared congratulations, how beautiful she is!! Well done you. Flowers

RhubarbAndMustard · 16/02/2016 11:10

Amazing news scared!!! Well done to you and she is absolutely gorgeous. You have been through a lot so allow yourself time to rest and recoup after your ordeal...and lots of gawping at your beautiful daughter of course. ThanksThanksThanks

Welcome to the party Bump.

sherazade · 16/02/2016 11:15

WOW scared!!!! A massive congratulations!!!! you've done us all so proud and what a super quick birth once you got going... pic actually brought a tear to my eye and I woke up at 6am to check this thread. Had so many other things to say but I've forgotten them all now!!! ENJOY!!!!

vroc81 · 16/02/2016 11:16

Wow Scared congratulations queue jumper She is gorgeous, ut oh almost getting to the point where I want one myself!!

sherazade · 16/02/2016 11:26

mrsben lots of false alarms for me too- its so frustrating isn't it?
I think DH is becoming immune to seeing me in pain. This morning he said 'is this the dilation thingy?' before turning over and falling back to sleep. Hmm
I've reached term as well today. It#s funny how you long to be the next number of weeks and then when you get there it still feels like there's too long to go!
scared don't be disappearing on us we want regular updates of your little bundle!
