It's the calm before the storm (sort of) that is Fantastic February and the March Madness - we did a lot of shagging last summer! We need more JSers on this, our 44th thread!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 44th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 57th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

Ah gouda that sounds like a thoroughly exhausting experience.
Did you have any interventions in the end?
I quite agree with you about keeping expectations low and an open mind - also about fucking 'productive' pain. Yeah. It still hurts.

I'm so relieved you're ok Thanks congrats on your baby boy!

Congratulations on your little boy Gouda! You have also confirmed my thoughts on epidurals, I.e. get it asap. I'm not interested in winning medals for endurance and I suffer with fatigue anyway, so exhaustion could be a real problem! Well done you! Now sit back and enjoy your baby.

Jelly I'm third! Yikes! Baby obviously excited by this as kicking me quite consistently right now. Proper bump is wiggling and shaking kicks. Ouchie!

We have done cleaning and sorting today. DH is very pleased, he loves tidying. I am pleased because I managed to reconfigure my wine rack so I can fit the pushchair, fully assembled, under the stairs. The idea being ...

  1. don't have to fold it all the time.
  2. can just wheel straight in door (step free entry) and under the stairs without faff
  3. can leave baby to sleep (ha!) in pushchair
  4. can use carrycot for daytime naps

Winning!

pretzelpieces · 23/01/2016 17:18

Thanks for sharing your birth story gouda and hooray for boybee! Sorry your experience was so long and painful but thank fuck for epidurals eh? Grin well done you for getting through it.

jelly 1st place! How exciting! Oh shit I'm second aren't I. I'm not looking

honey I'm very jealous. I live in a third floor flat and there will be nothing easy or sleep accommodating about getting her indoors from the car! Well done on the tidying!

I did a shitload of housework today also. Come on baby I'm ready for you now. Off to see the Danish girl at the cinema with DP tonight. Surely that's law of sod enough to make my waters break? Or will they wait until I'm on the bus during the week?

pretzelpieces · 23/01/2016 17:20

Oh PS clear imminent labour news not wishful thinking at all I have a spot on my chin! Surely signs of some hormonal overhaul?! I haven't had spots since I was a teen!

SecondCupOfTea · 23/01/2016 17:29

Yay! Congrats Gouda...although you had us worried for a while.

How big was the little fella?

jellypi3 · 23/01/2016 17:46

pret im stupidly spotty as well, what the fuck is up with that?!?!?

Also you're so totally first as you are being induced thursday Grin

ThursdayLastWeek · 23/01/2016 17:57

You lovely lot have just reminded me I haven't had a spot for a while Smile

I fell asleep while DS & DH Were still out, and woke up to cook and massive load of chicken and chorizo stew for my freezer stash. It's coming along nicely.

I can't believe you're being induced this week pretz! So exciting!

I'm really really looking forward to meeting this little baby. I'm actually quite looking forward to my night in hospital after the elcs just the two of us.

Yey Gouda, that's great news. Ironically I didn't have an epidural until after I had finished giving birth, but it was still awesome!

I'm so excited for all of you having babies soon!!

lildottie · 23/01/2016 19:52

Yikes I've missed alot. I see I've missed couple of babies appearing, congrats!
In the final throws of January madness so hopefully be able to get more involved again after next week

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 23/01/2016 21:22

Yay for baby boy gouda! Congrats on the new addition. Labour IS exhausting. I went 53 hours with DD, 18 of which were active labour (after waters broke) and my epidural was an absolute godsend...

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Didn't have much rest but had a really great day at work today on a project for my favourite client. Currently in bed about to be served pizza by DP and planning on spending a great deal of time here Grin

pretz I can't believe your time is nearly here... I remember your first post on undergrads! sob and jelly your jelly bean is coming so soon... Star

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 23/01/2016 21:27

Oh meant to add in there about what you said gouda about things speeeding up after an epidural. As far as I understand adrenaline slows down dialation so when you are relaxed/not in pain things can progress faster.

SockQueen · 23/01/2016 22:40

Congratulations gouda!

Thanks for the support earlier, everyone. I managed better today as I'd slept better and driven in rather than cycled, but I think I'll tell them after the scan on Tuesday if everything looks ok so far. There are several risky factors in my job that will need assessing (shift work, manual handling, radiation exposure, anaesthetic agents etc) so I think I'll put it through the "official" channels even if I'm not telling colleagues. And yes Thursday - I'm an anaesthetist.

pretzelpieces · 23/01/2016 23:05

jelly still plenty of time for you to pop before Thursday Wink

thurs I know! I am counting down the days now until I can eat cake again

sky you made me totes emotional.

Just been out for last date before baby. The Danish Girl and Nandos. Was vair nice. Being having these periody pains coming and going all evening. Wouldn't it be nice if something happened before I'm induced! I'm at least hoping it is doing something in there, thinning my cervix or sommat so that induction doesn't take forever.

ThursdayLastWeek · 23/01/2016 23:21

I'll be keeping my gx for you pretz

well sock that makes you one of my favourite people who work in hospitals Grin.

jellypi3 · 24/01/2016 02:32

Awake with back ache and period pains. Can't lay in bed so am on the sofa and they have calmed down a bit. Gx for some sleep!

LaLaLaaaa · 24/01/2016 06:56

^Pops head in
^
Congratulations Gouda!!!!!! Hooray for boybee, well done!

I second the benefit of epidural. I was adamant I didn't want one but it allowed me to progress without the pain and made massive difference

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 24/01/2016 07:12

Anyone elses ears prick up at jelly's post?

casually takes pom poms out and lays them nearby

ThursdayLastWeek · 24/01/2016 07:27

Yes sky they did!

jelly my love, are you ok?

OP posts:
honeysucklejasmine · 24/01/2016 07:27

Mine have too Sky. Jelly are you OK?

You guys can't both pop this week, that puts me first! Cross your legs please.

jellypi3 · 24/01/2016 08:30

Morning!

Well that was a weird night. Woke up with back ache and period pains that was coming and going, tried not to get too excited. Fucking hurt a lot. Ended up walking about downstairs, bouncing on my ball a bit and took some paracetamol.

Eventually managed to get back to sleep and this morning the pains are almost gone. Still got stomach cramps so will see how the day develops.

So I'm am fecking tired now lol!

5hell · 24/01/2016 08:33

I like the sound of both jelly & pretz's 'period pains' ...not that I'm glad they're in pain, but it could be progress for both right? :)

So glad to hear gouda's story n that she's OK ...hooray for team blue Grin

Had amazing Bangladeshi lunch at dh''s colleague's yesterday ...just about got room for brekkie finally!!

Hobbit19 · 24/01/2016 08:41

Ooh, sounds like things are starting to happen for Jelly and Pretzel! Try to get lots of sleep today ladies, and eat and drink plenty.

YogaPants · 24/01/2016 09:37

Congrats Gouda! Glad to here that you are home ok.

I'm also Leaving out Pom Poms for Jelly and Pretz. Back on JSing period pains were a cause for commiseration but here they are a cause for celebration.

So, my mother lives abroad and has just announced plans to spend most of June with us after/during baby being born. I sometimes find being with my mother draining, so am not sure what to expect in this time. For those of you who have had babies, did any of you have parents or inlaws stay over at the time? What did they do all day if they were staying with you immediately postpartum?

Ain626 · 24/01/2016 10:16

Eek. Sorry for all the popping in to grads viroids, but it's such an exciting time I have to keep checking in!

Good luck jelly and pretzel sounds like you are both gonna pop any time! My pom poms are on stand by! Try and rest up if you can. Grin
