Just got back from the midwife - heard the heartbeat! Wheeee! We could even hear the baby moving around in there!

The midwife uses this little wheel to calculate dates, and it seems to be two days out from every online calculator and also from the way they calculated my dates at the hospital. So according to the hospital, I'm 16+1, but according to the midwife, I'm 16+3. Anyone else found this? I don't mind really but it is a touch confusing!

Also, the midwife showed me where the top of my uterus is... WAY below the bit of my belly that's started to stick out. What's going on there, then?! Am I actually just getting porky?!

16 + 1 (not +3!)

Cheery1 · 13/01/2016 10:21

Hooray!! Great news Bluebell, how wonderful! Not encountered the wheel yet so can't help with that.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 13/01/2016 10:24

Pinsey I got my coat from Jojo. It's was originally £60 down to £30 then when I finally got around to ordering it had gone down again to £20.

Mini it probably is baby. I've been feeling movements for a couple of weeks now especially at night when I'm resting in bed.

Bluebell yay on hearing the heart beat. I'm looking forward to my midwife appt on Monday.

Ok so I'm officially super fat. I'm going to be massive. I feel so depressed about it.

Forgot to add 14+5

Cheery1 · 13/01/2016 10:27

Beautician - you look lovely and definitely pregnant not fat!! x

Vikkijayne2507 · 13/01/2016 10:54

hello all, in term sof movement I think at this stage it will generally be wind, ive been getting a lot recently, having said that I also think i felt a flutter, very very brief yesterday. it will also depend on where ur placenta is, last time mine was anterior so didnt feel ds as much but this time its posterior so should feel baby sooner and more frequently.
I do remember ds pushing one side of the tummy more than the other but that was a later 5 months or so.

Beutician Last time my pelvic bone was higher at 16 weeks and i could feel it, you look very much like me and although it not baby u have to think theres a much bgger uterus as well as a baby half a banana in size and that pushes all the digestive system up and in my case goes outwards, so its a food bump caused by the baby bump until baby bump takes over in a few weeks after 16 week or so.

My ds has also decided to have a messed up routine was awake from 2.5.30 last night so im feeling just amazing erghhh. One thing i will be trying to establish is a bedtime routine as early as possible even if baby wont understand for awhile, hindsight and all that, im praying this baby isnt a velcro baby quite as much as my last but i hghly doubt it.

magickal isofix is amazing, click in and out so easy than fiddling with a car seat strap every time.

14 + 4

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 13/01/2016 11:02

It's surprising how high everything is pushed. I have a nice roll of fat over the top of my bloat. Usually everything's really low. I'm definitely packing on the weight quicker than ever before this time. I think it's because it's my fourth.

wantingno2 · 13/01/2016 11:02

I look pregnant when I have my maternity jeans on because it's all in one place but I still have a bit of loose skin to grow into from the last pregnancy 13+3 today x

Magickal · 13/01/2016 11:09

Bluebell, that's lovely to hear the heartbeat. I thought they might listen when I had my scan but they didn't. I could see it though.

The hospital told me that the EDD is set in stone from the scan and won't change no matter what else happens. It's fairly meaningless anyway but is nice to have an idea.

I'm a teacher and mine is due on the first day of the holidays which would be handy but I'd rather it came early. I'm hoping since my first was 3 weeks early that this one will be too but I know it doesn't work like that.

RoseInWonderland · 13/01/2016 11:26

15 weeks today and I think I am definitely in the looking pregnant camp! I feel about six months along! I can't bend, can't cross my legs, keep getting out if breath. Who's stupid idea was it to buy a three storey house! Please tell me someone else is as huge as me!

mini I think I've been feeling some movement the past few days. Just occasional flutters/bubbles. But this is baby number three (second pregnancy) for me and I have diastasis recti so I expected to feel movement a bit earlier this time. I think I was nearer 20 weeks first time round.

Rose that's a gorgeous bump. You look pregnant unlike me I just look chubby.

Woodsy81 · 13/01/2016 13:16

Hi Ladies

Just caught up with the thread. Sorry for your loss MissClarke. I hope you have all the support you need. xx

I have bought a couple of Maternity outfits which are still slightly too big so still in stretchy clothes at the moment. I think I will have a look at the top shop jeans - I bought New Look maternity jeans in skinny cut in my normal 14 but they are huge in the leg.
Had my 16 week appointment today. Midwife measured me and said I am measuring a little big but that It was nothing to worry about. (I thought that I was looking big for 16 weeks), so I am quite glad its been confirmed.
I also heard the heartbeat which was AMAZING. I don't know why but it just made everything so much more real even after 3 scans. Had been told that I probably wouldn't hear heartbeat till 22 weeks so it was a nice surprise.
Is anyone else finding they are more tired this trimester? I didn't really feel tired in first 14 weeks but now I am struggling.

Scase1firsttimemum · 13/01/2016 14:50

Wow everyones bump is so much neater than mine! I just look fat, but thats from my point of view, everyone who has looked says it looks like a baby bump and not fat.. But I think I am a little too big Confused cant help but eat all the time Im always soooo hungry!!

Almost puked (sorry if tmi) on my way to work this morning had a good job keeping it down! Luckily Ive managed to get through the day without vomiting! Dont really know where it came from was so random, all I did was cough..!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 13/01/2016 14:57

Ha, I'm definitely not going to be posting a bump picture as you guys are all so slim compared to me. (I'm not fishing for compliments btw, I really am very overweight).

Every one of you that has posted a bump picture - you are not at all fat, really you're not. You all look lovely.

photographerlady · 13/01/2016 16:05

Nice pics all. I am too large for all those slim mamas-to-be.

Bluebell and Wood lovely heartbeat moments

mascaraisamust · 13/01/2016 17:40

My bump isn't as round as others! Maybe because I've just had to go out and get fish and chips (oops). I couldn't concentrate on anything else, had to have them. Don't think I breathed when I actually ate them.

mascaraisamust · 13/01/2016 17:41

Wanting I'm right behind you at 13+2 now Grin

HopesAndDreams15 · 13/01/2016 17:49

Loving the bump pics ladies! Culture I won't be posting mine either as it is 95% bread and crisps and 5% baby Grin

Ellizardo · 13/01/2016 18:10

Mascara - ha! I'm doing exactly the same thing but with £15 worth of cheap Chinese (so you can imagine how much I'm having)
