HopesAndDreams I think I'm about the same percentages! I'm looking forward to when my wobbly bits are pushed out by baby bump and it's all a bit less flabby. I swear last time that I just looked fat even when I was 37 weeks plus!

First scan tomorrow. I'm trying very hard not to be nervous. Also tomorrow, the all-staff get-together at my work. So I have to spend the morning pretending to be interested in what the various departments are doing (whilst scoffing a bacon buttie, of course) before leaving BEFORE THE FREE LUNCH (oh the humanity!) to go up for the scan. I know. The injustice is staggering.

Lovely to see everyone's bump pics. I just look fat too.

Is there an updated stats list? I think there was one at the start but I can't find it now.

Have you all had a flu jab? My midwife said to have one but the leaflet said it should be done in the autumn so I don't know if there is any point now. I'll have the whooping cough one later on.

AprilShowers16 · 13/01/2016 20:55

Hello just coming out of lurking to say hi :) I just had my 12 week scan on Monday and have been too scared to post until then after a miscarriage in August. Baby due 26th July and starting to feel excited now I've seen that all is well.

Need to catch up properly on the thread but just wanted to say hello and ask if anyone has come across some good skinny black maternity trousers?

wantingno2 · 13/01/2016 21:05

Welcome April h&m do really nice skinny jeans and they also have black ones x

Magickal · 13/01/2016 21:06

Hello April, welcome. I miscarried in May so understand you waiting. I've been really anxious this time but am beginning to relax and get a little bit excited.

Cheery1 · 13/01/2016 21:21

Hi April, welcome! There are a few of us in the super anxious after recent mc boat, so you've got plenty of company Smile Glad your scan was good - I still can't quite believe ours was ok, keep looking at the pics to make it more real!

Topshop do great skinnies too, but H&M more purse friendly

Cheery1 · 13/01/2016 21:24

pulpi good luck tomorrow! X

beckslovestimmy · 13/01/2016 21:25

Magic I've not had the flu jab. I had it last year at work and I felt awful after it so didn't really want it this time. I also didn't give DD the flu nasal spray. Fingers crossed that neither of us get flu!!

Cheery1 · 13/01/2016 21:25

P.s. I had flu jab in December....still might be worth it?

HopesAndDreams15 · 13/01/2016 21:31

Good luck for tomorrow Pulpi and welcome April!Smile

AprilShowers16 · 13/01/2016 21:33

Thanks for the welcome and trouser tips light check in h&m at the weekend.
Here is my scan photo. Glad yours went well mascara I remember it was near mine :)
Chips are my vice at the moment, especially McDonald's ones - trying so hard to be healthy but sometimes they just call to me and I can't resist

Beautician Thanks Smile Yours is a definite baby bump. Nothing chubby about it!

Magikal I had my flu jab the end of December. It's not a live vaccine so shouldn't make you feel unwell. The midwife told me that it will give the baby some immunity for the first few months of their life so I thought it was well worth having.

MissClarke so sorry xx

April welcome, I had a mc in August as well but everything is going fine this time, it's nerve wracking though isn't it? Good news about the scan!

Ok, sling advice I run a sling library and am an addict. I also find it hard to keep up with this thread but feel free to pm me if you need. I will do my best to reply in the thread because I really want people to carry their babies, it's so lovely and makes life easier once you get used to it!

Google, search Facebook, try and find a sling library in your area. It will help so much being shown positioning etc. So you can be sure you're getting it right as newborns are delicate and it's scary when you're not sure if they are going to fall out! If they are in right it should feel secure and there is basically no risk of them falling out. Unless you do a handstand.

Check out a group on Facebook called 'Slings and things FSOT and advice' where you will find loads of people selling really expensive bits of fabric. Ignore the prices, it's not all that sort of price. I recommend this group as its so big, there are loads of really helpful people who will give advice if you post a picture of your baby in the sling and ask if it's ok.

A close caboo or stretchy wrap with have diagonal crossed panels from your shoulders across your chest and around your waist. It should be snug to your skin when empty. Baby goes in under the panel closest to your skin, which should then cover him or her from knee to knee, with knees up in a frog guy position, then the other panel goes over the top again all the way across. The second piece on the caboo, or the bit round your middle in a stretchy then pulls up over the babies back to the back of their head/neck. When awake the baby might face straight into your chest, holding their head up but with fabric right behind their neck for support, when asleep you can gently turn their head to one side and tuck the back of it into one of the stretchy diagonal panels, malingering face and mouth are clear from obstructions. They should be close enough to kiss, nice and high on your chest. You'll be able to hear them breathing.

I'll try find some youtube videos.

FuzzyDucker · 13/01/2016 21:44

Cookiesandcoffee · 13/01/2016 22:22

Wow you all have such lovely bumps! I would post mine but I strategically take mine in my underwear so I can't hide if I'm just getting fat (really trying not to gain 5 stone this time)
rose your bump is lovely! 100% baby!
Welcome april Smile
bluebell glad your app went well Smile it's so emotional. My midwife has got the wheel out every time. Ignore the wheel. The scan is most accurate but I have disagreed (based on knowing when I Ov etc) with dates I have been given in the past. Also agree with you on where my uterus was according to midwife- my 'bump' starts so much higher BlushHmm

Good luck for your scan pulpi am gutted for you missing out on that lunch! Give the pregnant lady the free 3 course lunch!!
These take away dinners sound so yummy. I'm trying to make myself wait till the weekend. Sad
Agree with vikki with the isofix! Had one second time round and saved my life! As someone in and out the car a lot.

Welcome April - we're due the same day! Or at least tentatively, as my dating scan is this afternoon.

wantingno2 · 14/01/2016 07:42

Good luck pulpi hope all is well x

jemimahpuddleduck · 14/01/2016 08:35

Lovely bump and scan pics ladies. My bump comes and goes I've attached a pic of last nights.

Sorry I haven't posted much, I manage to read the thread every day but don't always find the time to get involved.

pulpi I hope your scan goes well today and I was sorry to hear your news missclark

My hips are burning this morning I seem to remember this from the first time around, luckily it only last a few weeks then, I thinks it's muscles softening.

Looking good Jem. I think we're roughly at the same stage? 17 weeks? I don't think I've got a bump really. Sometimes if I wear leggings it looks more bump like but I'm still in my normal jeans and just look a bit fatter around the middle. I never got very big with DD though.

We had a big day yesterday. It was DD's first day at preschool. She loved it. She was there 9-3 and didn't ask for me or get upset once. She tells me she had a lovely day! This is the first time she's been left anywhere without me, DH or family. Then when she got home we put her new big bed together. She's been in her cot bed until last night. She slept like a dream. So proud of my little girl!

photographerlady · 14/01/2016 08:46

Morning! Had the HR meeting of a lifetime yesterday. mapped out all my dates, using up my 47 days holiday (I get a lot of holiday working in Events) and seeing how long I can live on smp. Seems like December is affordable but then DH is going to take over.

pulpi Good luck on the scan today!

AprilShowers16 sick and pregnant is the worst. The first scan can be the hardest. Lovely photo though!

FuzzyDucker Thanks for the sling advice. Last time I mainly used a moby and it was okay in the early days at home but struggled with trying to get it on and off in public. I switched to a Hoppeye (maybe thats the name) when she was a bit older and loved it. This time hoping to crack the moby and use it more in the early weeks. If only all the sling groups in the new forest weren’t miles away.

minieggaddict · 14/01/2016 08:56

So the little lump popped up again this morning, it must be baby so feeling more relaxed about my 16 week appt later Smile

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 14/01/2016 08:58

Good luck pulpi I hope all goes well!

I've got my cervical length scan this afternoon. So nervous, especially because I know this one scan is unlikely to bring any immediate resolution to the worry about whether or not I have a competent cervix.

I don't even know who will be doing it - it's at the clinic not at the hospital, so I'm guessing not a doctor. This means I might leave knowing nothing much at all.

gnat99 · 14/01/2016 09:02

Good much today Pulpi!

Welcome April, glad to hear your scan went well.

I think I'm going to be nervous until the 20 week scan is over, to be honest!

Interesting to see all the bump pics. Like a lot of first timers, mine is still relatively small/invisible with clothes on, but it is definitely starting to take shape more now. DH has taken weekly photos of me since early on, but they're on his proper camera and we haven't actually taken the time to look at them yet. Maybe this weekend.

I've got a sore back this week. Think it's because I walked to work for the first time in a while. Didn't fancy biking in the rain. Got bus home last night and it was a total pain - my bus never turned up, so I had to get a different one that goes partly in the same direction, and then get DH to come and pick me up. Now I remember why I prefer to walk or cycle!

Just read the last few messages - that's exciting mini! I've felt nothing yet.

Good luck with appt YouandMe. Sounds stressful alright. Probably easier if you try and keep your expectations low of getting any information today (as you seem to be doing). Let us know how you get on.

So constipated this morning. Ugh.
