beckslovestimmy · 12/01/2016 11:55

Sorry to hear your sad news missclarke. Take care of yourself x

beckslovestimmy · 12/01/2016 11:57

Gnat time is flying by for me I think having christmas and new year has kept me distracted and they put us forward nearly a week at our scan. Not long to the halfway point now!!!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 12/01/2016 11:57

Elizarado I've looked at the sleepyhead they are £££. Are they definitely worth it? Aldi nappies are the only ones we can't use. They give ds3 a really bad rash. We love tescos nappies and also there wipes.

Gnat we are just storing it in ds3s bedroom as he only uses the room to sleep in and it's a double room.
We aren't finding out the sex until the birth. We were slightly swaying the other week but have decided no as its our last it will be nice to have a surprise. I'm only buying a couple of items for baby to wear. I will be washing all ds3s newborn clothes nearer the time just in case.

Cookies im only 5ft 2 as well so the Uppababy was out. It's a gorgeous pushchair though. Eek how exciting you get to hear the heartbeat. My midwife appt is next Monday.

Photographer I'm getting bigger & bigger. I've just ordered a maternity coat as my usual coat is gaping. I didn't think I would need a new coat seen as we will be at our heaviest in spring/ summer Sad

Bluebell haha I don't know l. I think I just can't get my head around the possibility it could be a girl I've just always seen myself with all boys. Would love a girl. But at the same time I love being a mum to my brood of boys. They are so good. I always get complimented on their manners which is lovely. Even my two year old always says please & thank you.

Missclarke so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself.

I can't stop eating today aargh

14+4

Bluebell20 · 12/01/2016 12:03

Haha Beautician, I'm exactly the same with eating today. My mind WILL NOT stray from food at all! Had a big bowl of porridge, then a round of cheese and crackers, and now I am trying to put off having lunch (veg green curry leftovers from last night) for as long as possible. That'll be me heading to the kitchen in five minutes, then...

Struggling with work the last couple of days, too. I am doing some fairly boring freelance writing at the moment and it is SO HARD to make myself focus on it. I am being terribly undisciplined :/

Fourormore · 12/01/2016 12:18

In my previous antenatal group, the sleepyhead was very highly rated!!

Jem01 · 12/01/2016 12:20

So sorry to hear your sad news missclarke x

For those suffering from insomnia, sorry to hear that. Im constantly needing the toilet and wake up twice in the night, at around 1am and then again about 5am needing to use the loo. It takes a while to get back to sleep both times but 5am is worse as its only an hour until I have to get up for work - argh!!!

Leaving New York tonight and BA have really pissed me off. checked in earlier and saw my two economy pre-paid seats I had allocated (in a row of two, right at the back near the loos) were now by the window & in the middle in a row of 3! The aircraft had changed and therefore my paid pre-book allocated seats were no longer valid. Not alerted about this so now left with crap seats and no doubt will piss passenger off with my frequent trip to the toilets. I don't know whether it's the pregnancy hormones but I went into a real rage about this (poor BA customer services rep who had to deal with me!) and normally it wouldn't bother me. Is this behaviour normal?! I'm usually way more level headed and reasonable..i like to think! Haha!

Can't remember who, someone asked who else is not finding out about the sex. We aren't either we love the idea of a surprise!

Love seeing all the scan pics and good luck to all those with scans this week.

I've also been looking at prams already. We think we're going with the new icandy peach. Looking forward to the baby show in Feb too. Anyone been before?

mascaraisamust · 12/01/2016 12:35

All is fine :) just waiting for bloods. Moved forward to 13+1 Smile

redstrawberries101 · 12/01/2016 12:48

So sorry to hear that miss Clarke, if you feel up for it come over to the TTC #1 after miscarriage thread. Lots of lovely people on there just as there are on this thread. That was one of the things I was going to find the hardest - leaving this thread.

To the rest of you *waves hope you are all ok! I am doing ok, up and down and not really sure how to get back to normal life, home, work etc. staying with my mum at the moment and just trying to let my emotions be and let it out when I feel upset. When I was diagnosed with the pancreatic tumour a few years ago I was really strong but in hindsight I bottled a lot of it up so my priority this time is to just be how I want to be. Wishing you all the best X

photographerlady · 12/01/2016 12:49

Will join you in the eating craze. Had two mini sandwiches today as I just want to snack and snack.

Sorry to hear MissClarke86

Bluebell20 was flat chested, had a baby, breastfed, went back to being flat chested :)

BeauticianNotMagician81 all the mat clothes are out here. I feel like I'm 30 weeks.

Jem01 Shame as BA have always been kind to me, saying that I never prebook seats as 24 hour checking always gave me and my baby/child ticket good seats. Hope the flight is better in the air!

Ellizardo · 12/01/2016 13:18

Missclarke - awful news. I hope you're with family. Melvali knows whereof she speaks, hope you find some comfort and support there.

Jem - you are not annoyed due to preg, that is bloody annoying in any circumstance and it's not a short flight either. Can't you play the preg card? Am sure you already have!

Beautician - sleepyhead is £, we got ours as a joint gift from DP's colleagues...but even if we'd had to pay ourselves I would have done it in a cost per use basis alone! I think there are cheaper versions out there too like the snugglepod?

Yep I'm a giant 5'11" which is why I like Uppababy...! But also chosen as has adapted for carrycot/toddler seat on the same chassis thereby saving £ as we can fit both kids on same buggy at diff stages of their development. It'll be like manoeuvring a tank tho!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 12/01/2016 13:27

Elizarado good idea I think I'm going to ask family to give us gift vouchers as most things I have or have bought already. I know both sets of parents always like to get us something.

pulpi · 12/01/2016 13:51

Missclarke, so sorry to hear this news. Take extra care of yourself.

Thanks to all the second-timers for the hints and suggestions of what to buy!

12 weeks today

Cheery1 · 12/01/2016 13:53

Brilliant tips from experienced mommas - thank you! DH and I started to look at buggies yesterday….it is a whole new world…. He couldn't believe the price and spent a good hour getting to know the terminology, bless him. He's going to be an expert by July!

It's a bit weird this second trimester isn't it? I just look like I've eaten too much over Xmas rather than blooming and pregnant - fat and a bit spotty is more the look I'm rocking. As a midget (5'1") weight gain shows up so much more, I am increasingly looking like a weeble! Hey ho, as long as baby is healthy I'll cope. That's the other thing most of my symptoms have gone, still pretty tired but bit freaked out by not feeling rubbish and not looking pregnant. If I could have a weekly scan, I'd do it! It seems like so far away until 16 week and 20 week apt and I can feel the worrying start to creep in….Anyone else getting anxious even though we are so lucky and past the 12 week milestone?

Bluebell - I am trying to do a very boring funding application and struggling to motivate myself. Probably explains this long rambling post….right back to work!

Cheery1 · 12/01/2016 13:55

Mel - lovely to hear from you. It is so hard and all you can do is give yourself time, and take care of yourself. Keep to talking to your partner as well if you can. It really helped my DH to know what I was going through and then he felt he could talk to me - honestly it made us closer. Hoping so much all works out for you and MissClarke x

Cheery1 · 12/01/2016 13:57

Great news mascara! Any pics?

Scase1firsttimemum · 12/01/2016 14:16

Oh MissClarke I am so sorry to hear of your lossSad I hope youre okay and around supportive people

I was meant to speak to my managers today about changing my shifts round, but ended up getting quite busy I wasnt able too.. Not only that, but I get scared asking for things and hate using this pregnancy thing as an excuse, I already find it hard lifting heavy stuff now so have to ask for help.. Makes me feel useless :L. But I cant keep going on like this I need sleep haha

Pinseyboo38 · 12/01/2016 14:31

Missclarke so sorry to hear your news. Sending big hugs xx
Beautician I had a look on eBay at the sleepyhead and if you don't mind second hand you can pick them up very cheap.
I definitely feel very large at the min, I'm down to two pairs of jeans and one coat which isn't that warm in this weather. Have told a few people at work and just waiting for it to filter through to everybody else. I can see people looking and wondering if I've just ate too many mince pies lol
Roll on looking pregnant instead of just chunky xxx

Cookiesandcoffee · 12/01/2016 16:01

So sorry to hear that missclark Thanks

Cookiesandcoffee · 12/01/2016 16:23

Congrats mascara! Very pleased for you. Midwife appointment went well was in and out in a flash. Heard babies heartbeat was 155 (bpm?!) so have now started over analysing speed vs gender! Blush dd2 enjoyed it as recorded for dd1 to listen to.
Joining the hungry/growing crew this week- Monday morning I woke up DEFINITELY bigger than Sunday!
becks that sounds so far along! You'll be 20 weeks in no time!
Am I being silly I've never heard of a sleepyhead?!

Magickal · 12/01/2016 16:27

I can't keep up with you all!

Hope everyone is doing ok. So sorry for the sad news Sad

I had my first scan today & all looks ok, just waiting for blood tests to come back. Then it's time to start telling DC & family. Eeek.

EDD 21/7/16

12 + 5

Cheery1 · 12/01/2016 16:29

Magickal - that's lovely news! glad all was ok at scan, it's so amazing to see the baby for the first time Smile

Lucy90 · 12/01/2016 17:25

DP has been in the loft for my maternity clothes, much more comfortable now! Ive already got all the mat clothes I need just bought a couple of pairs of leggings from Amazon for £5 each to bulk it up a bit! If anyone is thinking of getting the silver cross pioneer i can thoroughly recommend it! We've got it in raspberry for DD and it's brilliant. The whole set is quite expensive but definitely worth the money! Also good for resale, we've been offered £700 for ours Wink
