gnat99 · 11/01/2016 22:19

Good luck tomorrow Mascara!

Congrats on the scans, Fuzzy, Sunnyscot and Pinsey Smile Lovely pic Pinsey, good luck surviving the wait!

Bluebell I agree with everyone, that is a really lovely idea about the quilt. I'm sure it will bring you, your mum and baby close together in a very special way. Enjoy the experience Star

I bought some white wool the other day and have started knitting, just to get myself in the mood - not actually knitting anything as such, just practising stitches! Haven't knit for years.

Beautician well done on your new buggy acquisition! Very impressed with your organisational skills. And you obviously have storage space! We have absolutely nowhere to put a buggy just now. Will have to do some serious clearing.

Thanks for all the tips ladies - we are nowhere near thinking about anything to do with furniture or buggies or anything! Think I'm too afraid to plan anything until 20 scan...

Also, is anyone else not finding out the sex? We are waiting till the birth.

P.s. Gorgeous scan pics ladies! Always so lovely to see x

wantingno2 · 11/01/2016 22:34

Yes I'm a Google addict apart from when I'm ill because it always tells you your dying of some stupid thing you've never heard of before lol I love this group it makes the waiting and anxiety a little easier to deal with when you have people to share it with x

CultureSucksDownWords · 12/01/2016 01:22

Hi everyone Smile Loving all the scan pics.

I can't sleep! Pregnancy insomnia which happened a bit last time too.

So, I told work today (Mon) who were fine about it. I was so nervous, I don't really know why. But I feel relieved now I've done it, and I don't have to try and hide it anymore.

Love your pram beautician I've been banned from getting a new one- second hand or not. My DD2 still insists on being in the pushchair all the time (3) so I think I might just change my Phil&Teds into a double at the start?
Good luck mascara
My scan picture had 0 nub! Very disappointing. I think based on skull theory it looks boyish?!
I loved my Moby sling and I seem to have lost it Angry but recommend a soft wrap around sling to keep your arms free. No to outfits, shoes (never bothered) buy lots of: muslins, babygrows and vests fuck everything else and buy a cot bed rather than a cot, lasts them so much longer.
I second the lansinoh- wouldn't have managed breast feeding without it! I did have a slightly more expensive pump- a Medela (but a mini as they're cheaper)! And was also a god send for let down/milk supply as much as actually using it to express.
pinsey hope the next 10 days goes quickly. It might not be as long as that as I think they say longer to cover themselves. Wishing you the best of luck with your results.
elilz I loved the upper baby vista it was originally my first choice but I was just too short!! (So really recommend trying them all out even if you are buying second hand) Im 5ft 2 or 3 so if you're short I wouldn't go for it personally. I felt like baby was the same height as me Blush

Have my midwife appointment to hear the heartbeat today! DH can't make it but DD2 is joining Grin I'm bringing lots of bribery!

Scase1firsttimemum · 12/01/2016 08:39

Woke up at 4am for work this morning , started at 5:30am and Im surviving on 3 1/2 maybe 4 hours sleep Sad I am so tired, this not being able to sleep at night thing is getting on my last nerve!!Angry

photographerlady · 12/01/2016 08:47

Lovely scan photos everyone!

Anyone else notice that they seem to just be getting bigger everyday. I am going to be a Mr Men character by July.

Thistledew · 12/01/2016 08:56

Sorry to all the people suffering from insomnia. It is ironic that it kicks in just when we need to be 'banking' as much sleep as possible to help with the sleepless nights when the babies arrive.

Can anyone explain to me why the medics are so set on adjusting EDD according to the length of the baby?

I know when I ovulated in the month I conceived as I was using an OPK as well as tracking other signs and recording the first day of my period. Yet at the scan yesterday they moved me from 12+3 to 13+1. I know 5 days is not a lot in the scheme of things but it would have to mean that I ovulated at day 8 or 9 of my cycle, after a 5 day period - and then got a positive result on the OPK 5 days after conception. It doesn't make sense.

beckslovestimmy · 12/01/2016 09:11

Good luck for those with scans this week. Lovely to see some more scan pics.

We're hoping not to have much to buy this time round but I may invest in a sling/carrier for when baby has outgrown our Moby.

Beautician we won't be finding out the sex, we didn't with DD either. I like the thought of the surprise at delivery and as long as baby is healthy we don't mind the sex.

17+0 today.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 12/01/2016 09:12

thistle I have the same problem. Based on the baby's size they have moved me forward which means I would have ovulated the day of my period! I know I didn't because like you I used OPKs and know what date I got a positive etc. I've accepted that even though they say my EDD is 12/7/16 it's more than likely that it will be the 16/7/16 based on when I am fairly sure I ovulated. The advantage of having an earlier EDD from the hospital is that I have an earlier induction date. They've said if no baby by 24/7/16 they will definitely induce. This makes me happy because I don't want to go much beyond due date in the middle of a hot summer.

scase sorry to hear you are having such a tough time of it. I suffer terrible with insomnia and having to do such early shifts after practically no sleep would definitely floor me. Is there any way they can change your shift patterns so that you start later in the day?

Bluebell20 · 12/01/2016 09:41

Oh no Beautician, one of your DS will be disappointed then Wink! What about the scan pic looks boyish to you?

Good luck with the scan, mascara.

gnat, I love knitting! I'm just sewing up a little kimono jacket I made for my nephew, then I am going to start stashing stuff for my own baby. What do you think you might make? ravelry.com is amazing source for free patterns; I highly recommend it!

photographer, I feel your Mr men pain. I am going to take my first bump pic today. Wish I had started at the start so that I had proof of how damn slim I was! Everyone keeps saying I won't get a big bump, but I'm not so sure as I'm looking pretty pot bellied at this point. And my boobs are really annoying me now - they are just so present, you know? Please tell me the boobs shrink back down once you're done breastfeeding? Please?!

Hope the appointment goes well, Cookies. I've got mine tomorrow!

Thanks for ravelry.com tip, Bluebell! I love the idea of a kimono jacket, perhaps I'll try something like that. To be honest, I have never knit much since school apart from easy things like scarves and draught excluder for the front door. But I find it very relaxing and am enthusiastic Wink

Glad to hear you are waiting to find out the sex at birth too, Becks. It will be one of nature's few nice surprises.

Scase and Culture, really sorry to hear about all the insomnia. I haven't been sleeping great, very broken nights. But not lying awake for hours like you, that's terrible. I know what it feels like as I've suffered with that in the past.

Scase, I know someone's said this already, but can you do anything to change your shifts? On my risk assessment form at work yesterday there was a section about shift work so it's obviously a recognised issue. (Also one about nauseating smells!). It didn't affect me so I didn't really think about it but I hope you manage to sort something out.

Becks, 17 weeks sounds so far along! I'm 15 weeks tomorrow.

Hi ladies, I've not been on for a while as things haven't been looking good. Confirmed today as I've been for a few early scans and today there's no sign of baby. I'm booked for a D&C on Monday to remove the sack.

Thanks for all the chat and support and I wish you all the best of luck with lovely healthy pregnancies
