We're going to use the bedside attached cot like we did last time, for the first 6 months. Our is the BabyBay one. Then at 6 months ish move them into a cotbed that will go at the end of our bed. The cot bed should last a long time - our 3.5 yr old DS1 is still in his cotbed, now set up as just the bed part.

Ugh feeling shattered today. Didn't sleep well at all, and my back is really sore. Depressing to think that from here on it will probably be just 20 weeks of aches and pains! The gap between the nausea stage and the uncomfortable stage doesn't seem to have lasted very long!

beckslovestimmy · 05/02/2016 15:21

20 week scan today. Baby looked good and they got to see all the bits they needed to. We're not finding out the sex. Sonographer was much better/nicer this time.
20+3 today.

Hooray! Great news becky

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 05/02/2016 15:47

Lovely Becky! We're not going to find out the sex either - actually I've got no idea if our health board has a policy about telling or not - I know that some won't.

Gx91 · 05/02/2016 15:51

Thom80 · 05/02/2016 17:42

Had a scan today and everything looks good. The Birth Conpany were excellent, we had a lovely helpful sonographer. Attached a picture of the little one.

Great pic Thom

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 05/02/2016 19:01

Lovely scan pics Thom and Becks.

We still can't decide whether or not to find out the sex this time. My scan is closer to 21 weeks. So still over two weeks to go. I keep debating whether to get a private sex scan.

18+0

Vickie360 · 05/02/2016 19:21

Lovely scan photos becks and Thom I will be nearly 22 wks at mine so it's really tempting to get a private one especially after seeing the great photos

birdandbee · 05/02/2016 19:38

Hello ladies
Lovely scan pictures!!
I found some underwired maternity bras from jojo maman babe.... Although I've been in mine since almost the beginning of my pregnancy.... Boobs didn't waste anytime in expanding!!! I don't think it's recommend to wear underwire bras for much longer. Crop top nursing bras and saggy breasts here I come!! 😜

Started to toss and turn at night- anyone else not sleeping well? What's the advice about sleeping positions at the moment - heard something about not sleeping on your back or is it s certain side??? Surely not an issue just yet. Thought midwife would have told me more than she has....😕

Scase1firsttimemum · 05/02/2016 19:52

I am struggling to sleep at night too, I heard its good to sleep on the left side as it aids blood flow and oxygen to the baby better, but Im finding it comfortable to lay on my back and youre not supposed too:(!!! Also pretty sure Ive got restless leg syndrome as they get an annoying feeling and I have to move them!!! Angry just wanna sleep!

On a happier note what a beautiful scan picture ThomSmile

CultureSucksDownWords · 05/02/2016 19:58

Yep, left side is supposed to be better. When I was hugely pregnant I couldn't lie flat on my back as it would make me feel faint. The baby/uterus can press down on a major artery and restrict your blood flow. I don't think you'd be able to stay on your back when asleep anyway at that point, you'd naturally wake slightly and move. If you haven't got a pregnancy pillow, they're great and really help with getting comfy.

mascaraisamust · 05/02/2016 20:14

I try lay on my left, I end up on my back and on my right and the v pillow ends up getting chucked on the floor! Even DH is telling me off in his sleep!

mascaraisamust · 05/02/2016 20:15

Fab scan pics ladies! Mine is tomorrow eeek!!

ValerieTheHorse · 05/02/2016 20:31

I would just sleep however is comfy at this point. Avoid right hand side when heavily pregnant because of the major artery but don't panic if you end up on it as you'd move before there was a problem unless unconscious/drunk (which I doubt you'll be!)

18 weeks tomorrow. Scan in 2.5 weeks. Wish I had booked an early gender scan but very skint and it's not that long to wait really. I don't like waiting though. No definite movements here but I had an anterior placenta last times so don't expect any for a while, although it doesn't say on my scan notes where my placenta is this time.

My first baby was 10lb 3 so went straight into 0-3 clothes which probably lasted until he was 8 weeks? I think the 0-3 are usually up to about 15lbs. Ive only got 0-3 for this baby and it may surprise me by coming early and being 6lb and I won't have anything for it to wear! I doubt it though.

HopesAndDreams15 · 05/02/2016 20:55

Great scan pics ladies.

I've got my gender scan tomorrow too Mascara, don't think I'll sleep tonight I'm so excited!

foobio · 05/02/2016 21:09

Lovely to hear about everyone's scans, ours isn't for another week and a bit, still trying to decide whether to find out the gender. Do you think they'd write it down for us if we haven't decided?!
For those looking for non wired bras, check out post surgery bras, m&s have some nice ones that aren't too frumpy. Really comfy and have that thick sort of material so your nipples don't show through like all the other granny bras I tried!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 05/02/2016 21:13

Great scan pics ladies it's all getting so exciting can't believe we got here so quickly. Seems like just the other day we were talking about booking appointments and frantically knicker checking. Good luck for tomorrow mascara and hopes
