Theyre not too bad actually! Ive been looking around so Im waiting for pay day!!

Happy Birthday Pinsey Smile

BelOfTheBall79 · 10/01/2016 14:08

Thanks for the thoughts re coughing up blood. It wasn't a lot and I feel ok now but am seeing the midwife soon so will mention then.

Me and DH have been looking at paint colours for the nursery today! To be fair we have quite a bit to do in the house so it won't just be the nursery we need to do. But exciting anyway! We've decided not to buy any nursery furniture or baby stuff just yet, will wait til 20 week scan. I did see some lovely White Company stuff in their sale though...

Oh and I am 14 + 2 today which is 100 days pregnant! I think I have some due date buddies too.

Pinsey I hope you have a fabulous birthday! Thanks and Cake to you given not too much Wine is allowed!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 10/01/2016 14:13

Eek I bought the pram today. I know it's early but we got such a bargain I couldn't resist.

Hamsolo · 10/01/2016 14:37

Just place marking as I don't have time to catch up properly and don't want to lose you!

Lucy90 · 10/01/2016 15:13

Beautician what pram did you go for? I'm contemplating the bugaboo donkey as DD will only be 18 months when this baby is born!

mascaraisamust · 10/01/2016 16:35

Just popping in!

Dry hands: the worst scaly hands I've ever had (old wives tales says it's a boy). On the cocoa butter, almost goes like eczema which I've never had - quite itchy! Looks eugh!

Headache: check. I also find when I eat it tends to go. Trying to drink lots.

Also finding I need to eat every few hours now otherwise I crash. Just eaten a crunchie due to 'crashing' - maybe blood sugar?

2 more sleeps until my scan, Thistle I feel exactly the same. Best of luck for tomorrow.

Also booked a gender scan on Valentine's Day. Haven't told DH, little suprise. I'll be just over 17 weeks.

I'm clueless with baby equipment so feel free to advise/educate me what's best!

Lulabells · 10/01/2016 16:52

Hi all. Please can I join? I am 11+2. I have been secretly keeping an eye on this thread for weeks but too scared to post as I have been really anxious about this pregnancy (my 2nd as I already have a DD who is 3 in March). Anyone feeling a lot more anxious the 2nd/3rd/4th time round??? Oh and I agree with the headaches! Add that to the sickness and exhaustion and it doesn't seem as fun this time! Plus we are putting our house on the market and my DP told me 4 months ago he couldn't go through with our wedding so we are still cancelling all of that. Pregnancy was not planned so life has been a huge rollarcoaster the last few months!!! Wow sorry for the epic self centered post Blush! Good luck for all the scans tomorrow!

pulpi · 10/01/2016 17:05

Hi Lulabells and welcome! We're a pretty friendly and chatty bunch.

minieggaddict · 10/01/2016 17:06

Hi Lulabells Smile this is also 2nd baby for me and I'm also a lot more anxious. Sympotms are the same as last time so don't know if its cos I'm a bit more in the know or what but dh is used to me being paranoid so will probably say I was just like it first time round and I've forgotten. Each time it's taken us a long time to get pregnant which doesn't help the worry.

Lulabells · 10/01/2016 17:13

Thanks Pulpi! Minieggaddict I am glad I'm not the only one. How far along are you? I think last time ignorance was bliss but this time I know a lot more people go through some pretty tough times and it scares me. Can't wait for the scan so I know what was going on!

Lucy we went for the Bugaboo Cameleon3. I actually bought second hand as £800 plus on a pushchair is a lot when it's our 4th. I always think of all that money I could have spent on the other children. It's absolutely immaculate condition & included the pushchair, carrycot and car seat. It's a lovely deep purple but also comes with a spare set of orange covers. We drove quite a distance to get it.

Lula hi & congratulations. I'm having my fourth and have been really worried this time. I think it's because this time took us the longest. We were trying for 13 months. In fact we were about to give up. I've started to relax a bit now I've had my scan and blood results so much so that as you can see I bought the pushchair. I will be nervous right before the 20 week scan too. Always am. Try to enjoy it as best you can.

14+2

minieggaddict · 10/01/2016 18:39

Lulabells I'm 15+6. Really praying that the mw listens for and finds a hb on Thurs as I know what you mean about others going thru hard times. After that I might hopefully feel better til the 20 week scan. Actually looking forward tho to getting dds stuff out after that and I'm sure that's when I'll get properly excited.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 10/01/2016 18:44

mascara that's a lovely idea for Valentine's Day! Been trying to convince DH to shell out for a gender scan but he's being a tightwad even though he spends more than that on lunch in a week Angry around our area we can get it for £44.

Good luck to all those having scans this week hope all goes well.

Welcome lulabell you're not alone with the anxiety I'm only now allowing myself to relax and enjoy this pregnancy after stressing about every tiny thing for the first couple of months

Bluebell20 · 10/01/2016 18:59

Mini my 16 week appointment is on Wednesday :) My husband just asked if I would like him to come with me, which has really pleased me as I didn't think he would be fussed about it.

Had a lovely gym session this evening, and a nice healthy dinner (to counteract the ghee-fest that was our Indian takeaway last night). Feeling ready for the week to begin!

HopesAndDreams15 · 10/01/2016 19:31

Welcome Lullabels, this baby is my third and I'm a lot more nervous this time round but that's probably because I'm a lot older!

Beaut congrats on your bargain, can we see a pic? I must admit I keep swaying between being sensible and going all out as this will definitely be my last and I want to enjoy it to the max! I've my eye on the egg but I'm hoping common sense will prevail and I choose something cheaper!

How exciting Bel, I can't wait to start thinking about the nursery. I'll wait until we know the gender though so can colour coordinate everything.

I think I'll be booking a private gender scan, my patience is already wearing thin and also I'd love to be able to take DS and DD along. I told the children today I'd decided on the name and he/she would be called Optimus Prime as a joke...it's backfired as it seems to have stuck! Grin

Good luck to those with scans this week!

12 + 3

Lulabells · 10/01/2016 19:34

Glad it's not just me then!! I keep telling myself I will be better after the 12 week scan but I know full well I will be stressing about the 20 week one as well. In fact I will worry about my kids for the rest of my life as that is the job of a parent!

It is exciting to see people further along getting things ready for all the babies!!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 10/01/2016 20:08

I'm off to the colposcopy clinic tomorrow: I think this should be my last appointment before I am discharged from gynaecology after my two treatments for cervical abnormalities in 2014. When I went in July the gynaecologist said I was definitely to keep the appointment even I was pregnant. Not looking forward to it it at all Sad very much hope everything will look OK: I was all clear in July.

I've also got my cervical length scan on Thursday. I was expecting this to be an internal scan, but the note that came with the appointment letter says to drink plenty of water as it will abdominal, but that they "may" do an internal scan if they can't get the measurement that way. Definitely very worried about that. I am desperately hoping that everything will be OK and I will not need a stitch or any other interventions.

Scase1firsttimemum · 10/01/2016 20:30

Every little thing seems to be annoying me today AngryAngryAngry I just want to scream!! Even someone rustling a packet is getting on my last nerve!! Ughh Angry not a happy bunny today. I have work at 5:30am tomorrow so will be waking up at 4am which is shit as I cant sleep at the moment either, so I may be falling asleep at work the next few days Shockzzz

Hello Lullabells, these ladies are a lovely bunch and put your mind at rest about anything and everything! Its so nice to be able to talk to others going through the same thing and around the same stage!!

Seriously, I am surprised there is only one baby in there! I am getting so big! This is gonna be a heffa :L and I think Im starting to feel the round ligament pain as I keep getting sharp pains in the groin/pelvic area when moving too quick what next haha

mascaraisamust · 10/01/2016 21:27

Youandme, I'm sure all will be ok and that you are in the best hands, I'm sure they'll be extra careful with you.

Scase, im exactly the same, snappy. Im still getting the sharp pains too when I get up too quickly (like when there is a knock on the door for a delivery and I'm still in bed Blush). Scase I'm only 12+1 and my belly is pretty firm and round Confused

Hi lullabells, this is #1 for me, I wish I could be blissfully ignorant! Sounds great.

Scase1firsttimemum · 10/01/2016 21:31

Mine isnt as firm as I though it would be but is quite hard, and very rounded! Linea nigra (is that it?..) is getting darker and I now have it going from top to bottom rather than it just being under my belly button!

I feel bad for my OH as Im so snappy and short tempered recently, think its something to do with hardly any sleep

mascaraisamust · 10/01/2016 21:37

Mine isn't as firm as it should be, just firmer than my less than toned belly was (getting ahead of myself)! I know, I owe DH he is treading on eggshells!

Scase1firsttimemum · 10/01/2016 21:52

That is how I would describe mine, never had a toned belly and doubt I ever will, my body just isnt built for that :L but I suppose I'll be happy with mummy podge :) getting quite excited!! But dont wanna get ahead of myself..

My results came back, Im at low risk, havent managed to read the letter OHs mother did..

Bluebell20 · 11/01/2016 09:08

Youandme, best of luck at the clinic today, and for the cervical scan on Thursday.

Hopes - Optimus Prime! Love it!!!

I've started dreaming about babies and baby-related things. I think it's knowing that it's a boy - it's made it all more real to me!

Had a good hunt on eBay for storage solutions for the nursery-to-be. Not found the right thing quite yet, but definitely getting closer. DH doesn't think we need a nursery (the baby will be in with us for ages, the baby won't know any different, etc etc), but I don't care, I need a nursery! I rarely put my foot down about things with DH, but the foot is firmly planted on this one. I would like it to be loosely nature-themed - I'm thinking beetles and dragonflies and leaves and stars. It's all painted white in there at the moment, but I'd like to do one wall in a colour - maybe a soft green?

The most important thing, for me, that I want to do is to make a little baby blanket out of a patchwork of my mum's old clothes. We kept a load of her most memorable clothes when she died - they've been clogging up my nan's loft for more than a decade now, whoops - because I knew I wanted to make a quilt out of them at some point. I think now is that point. I'd like to make a little cot blanket, and also a twin bed quilt for when he's bigger. I'm absolutely gutted that my baby and mum won't meet each other, so this is the best thing I can think of to bring them together :)

Pinseyboo38 · 11/01/2016 09:26

Thankyou lovely ladies for my birthday wishes, I spent the day in my pjs which was heaven.
bluebell the quilt sounds a beautiful idea and as you said now is the perfect time to get started. My nan tonight me how to crochet and over the years I've made blankets for friends and their babies, can't quite believe I'm actually going to be able to make one for my own this time.
Good luck to all those with up coming scans and appointments this week and hope we all have a lovely and happy week xx
