pulpi I have just spat my decaf coffee out reading your comment lol
I nearly typed poopi Grin
I was exactly the same yesterday but no one to share it with. I remember thinking no wonder I've been so bloody uncomfortable. I swear my belly has shrunk as well.

AnnaT45 · 24/01/2016 12:52

Wanting how is the packing going? Are you excited?
Ellizardo you poor thing! That sounds stressful. I assume you're doing something up? I hope you are in soon. Oddly enough I'm fairly certain I'll to have an ELCS too but will wait to see consultant.

I really need to get into sling research I think it's going to be a life saviour running after a toddler with a new born!

Took my 12 month old to get new shoes today. She had a horrendous tantrum and was screaming the shop down. Left with no shoes. I came home burst into tears and nailed chocolate, feel better now. Hope you're all having lovely Sundays and well done Pulpi on the movement Smile

Bluebell20 · 24/01/2016 13:02

Anna, we have just started looking at properties and we will probably be moving at any point from this summer onwards. To be honest I think I'd rather move while pregnant than with a newborn baby! I've been digging my heels in a bit as I absolutely adore our village and I would love to bring our child up here, but grudgingly I've had to admit that DH is right - we do need to think about moving.

wanting, how lovely that you will donate some of your eggs. That is so generous.

Ellizardo, I feel your pain. It took us 9 months to move into our house, but even then it was just a shell, really. It's taken us 3 years to get it so that it actually is a comfortable house, not a building site, and we're still not quite finished... And oh, the arguments we had over the DIY! It was utterly vile (although DH seems to have totally forgotten this and told me off earlier when I said that it had made me terribly unhappy: "You don't know what unhappy is"). This is one of the reasons why I am not so thrilled about moving - I feel like we've just got our lives back Hmm.

17 + 5 and still not feeling very pregnant. I want to feel that baby kicking!

pulpi · 24/01/2016 15:32

Pinseyboo, there really should be a Poop Appreciation Club for pregnant women. And I feel the same way about my belly as it went down a bit from yesterday. On the upside, so did the scale!

Sorry about the decaf mishap. Oops!

mascaraisamust · 24/01/2016 16:49

Sooo my Sunday dinner plan didn't work out, I ended up throwing a strop at approximately 2pm as I was soooo hungry! Emergency supermarket stop for a chicken mayo sandwich, bag of fruit and a packet crisps = one happier lady.

The scales are saying i haven't put any weight on, everything is tighter, not sure how this is possible - maybe my scales are just cheap rubbish!

I have the pram (well MIL has it at her house), I've measured up the nursery furniture and the wallpaper is purchased! I'm so ahead of myself Confused

Bluebell20 · 24/01/2016 16:57

Awh that's nice, mascara. I bought my first thing for the baby yesterday - some beautiful children's illustration prints from an artist I went to school with many years ago. Feeling very chuffed about it, too :)

Woodsy81 · 24/01/2016 17:21

Hello everyone
Not been on in a few days. Pulpi, your comment made me laugh. I've had a few triumphant moments myself. Grin
Mascara, I think it's good to be organised. I have bought a gorgeous fluffy snow suit for next winter and a couple of packs of 0-3 month body suits and a pair of beautiful little dungarees. We were in tesco yesterday and they had a baby event on so we bought a bulk box of baby wipes and some other essentials.
We have just booked a mini-Babymoon to Dublin for Easter weekend. So excited. I have been a few times, mainly with work and I love it there. DH has never been but he has always wanted to go. Going to do the Guinness storehouse tour without the free Guinness at the end for me!

mascaraisamust · 24/01/2016 17:44

Ah Woodsy so jealous! DH and I want to book a last hurrah in the UK/Ireland somewhere. Even if it's just a long weekend. We've vowed do something once a month until July together before the baby comes, March is sorted (off to see a comedian), need to sort Feb quick! Doesn't have to be expensive just things we might not do for a while once baby is here Smile

mascaraisamust · 24/01/2016 17:45

And date night never ever happens in our house, so this is a more suitable strategy Grin

Scase1firsttimemum · 24/01/2016 17:56

Scase1firsttimemum · 24/01/2016 17:58

Sorry dont know what happened there...!

Cookiesandcoffee · 24/01/2016 20:43

pulpi totally understanding of the poop situation, I laughed out loud in a soft play earlier when I read your post. Today is a 'big belly day' and I'm sure it's linked..

Baby wearing is so great and was a life saver on the school run last time. Will be doing so again. However I'm slightly worried about getting hot during he summer. Will have to gage mine and babies clothes accordingly. I'm leaning towards the Close Caboo at the mo. I would recommend a wrap style one over a Baby Bjorn personally. A few goes whilst watching YouTube clips and you'll get it! Can practice with a doll/teddy before DC arrives Smile

woodsy that's so exciting! Such a good idea. Trying to persuade DH to go away for the night but he's not fussed Hmm

Well done on being so organised mascara . I want to do loads the nesting has kicked in. I totally know what you mean about the Hangry strops, they are becoming a regular occurrence at the mo. Have been a pig this weekend.

Good luck with the move wanting it's so stressful when preg. We are lucky there's no moving involved this time. Just a wall to construct Hmm

Vikkijayne2507 · 24/01/2016 22:54

hahahaha pulpi thatd me me proper lol, its amazing what you feel proud of, it wont stop at poop, it only get worse youll be comparing poop from babies, sick, lumpy boobs the lot, its great to have a ventin place.

I swear i felt another flutter yesterday, and i read today that with 2nd babies any time from 16 weeks you may feel small flutters and werid movements, it was so brief but it was something

Hey ladies! Been so busy. Been a bit of a crazy week with appointments and shopping. Had my 16 week (I think) midwife appointment. All seems well but my thyroid was 2.6 TSH back at 12 weeks which I was just slightly high. Midwife doesnt seem concerned but going on last time they arent the best at reading the results. Going to see how I feel but might go in to the GP in the coming days and talk about it. Worth being tested again now that its been another 5 weeks.

pulpi oh the joys of pregnancy, it only gets more classy from here.

woodsy great idea

beckslovestimmy · 25/01/2016 08:42

Morning ladies, I haven't posted for ages but I've been keeping up each day. Hello to our new ladies. 18+6 here and feeling quite a lot of movement now. Baby was somersaulting at work yesterday which made me feel a bit queasy!!

I'm starting to think about when I'll go on mat leave. Our A/L is done from apr-apr so I'm not going to take any this year then I'll have 8 weeks to use at the end of mat leave. Not sure how early to start leave though. What's everyone else planning?

On baby wearing I've got a Moby but I do wonder if it might be a bit warm in the summer I think I'll then move on to some buckles but will definitely use the local sling library to try a few out first.

We'll be using the buggy that we got for DD a baby style oyster and for when baby is bigger we've got a silver cross ?pop.

Hoping to not have to buy much this time around!!

Hoping everyone has a stress free Monday Smile

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 25/01/2016 09:15

Thank you for all the birthday wishes I had a lovely day. DH cooked a great meal for me. This weekend we are going to a spa/ hotel that I booked as his Christmas present. He bought me a tablet so that I can sit by the pool reading on it as I can't use the steam room or jacuzzi Sad

Scase tmi but my nipples are quite different this time they are nowhere near as dark as they usually go. So I wonder if they will leak as soon as they usually do. Haha

Bluebell love the comments at school so funny. The mind of a child.

You were all talking about baby wearing. Unfortunately it's not for me. I like to be able to put baby down. I've always struggled if they have been held too long ie visitors over. My childminder currently has a baby who's mum has been baby wearing. Childminder is struggling as the baby doesn't want to be put down & she has other children to look after. I think like the nappies & breast feeding it's just down to personal choice.

Anna we are moving before baby arrives. Unfortunately still renting. We are desperately trying to save a mortgage deposit but it's difficult with 3 children. Well it's difficult full stop these days SadThe house we are currently in is beautiful & has a huge garden however, it is freezing. We moved in during the summer & it's a dormer bungalow. Over the winter we have realised the dormer hasn't been done properly & so it's freezing cold. We have found a 4 bed on the next street. It means the two older children can have a room each. The baby can share with the toddler for a while then if by a small miracle we have a girl we will shuffle rooms when they are a bit older.

Hopes we currently have a 7 seater with 3 and I absolutely love it. I find it pretty easy to drive as nice & high up. This coming from someone that hates driving.

Lucia I've been craving Tuna & salad cream sandwiches.

I am feeling baby move a lot now. I guess it's because it's my fourth. Mostly at night or if I'm relaxing.

I really am counting down to maternity leave here. I thought I wouldn't care but I have no energy. I'm self employed so need to claim maternity allowance. I was going to work up until 2 weeks before my due date but I think I might leave earlier.

Cookiesandcoffee · 25/01/2016 10:23

hopes and beautician I'm starting to worry a bit following your posts about your cars. I was hoping I wouldn't need to upgrade mine with #3 on the way.. Am I kidding myself? I have a big family car (estate) but not a 7 seater... Any advice welcome as you have 3 already beautician.

scase no leaking but they are so swollen and feel somewhat engorged. I gave them a poke\squeeze but nothing. I think I was nearer 30 weeks when I started to leak. Nearly 3 cup sizes bigger tho... Hmm

becks jealous of the somersaults! Still not quite 'proper' movements here and starting to annoy me! Will they let you carry over your unused holiday then? That's really good. I think it depends on what your job entails as to when you leave work. One of my jobs is office based so I'm going to try and hold out as long as possible, and I'm also a self employed fitness instructor so I have to play it by ear as I have no idea if I will be able to still lift the same weights etc in the heat of summer. Whatever you go with do what's right for you!

photographer I would go to your Gp with your questions to make things more clear in your mind. Hope you midwife appointment went well. Exciting! - Have you been shopping for you or baby? Or both?! I'm getting the shopping bug but doesn't bode well for January finances!

17 weeks - eek

Cheery1 · 25/01/2016 10:24

Busy weekend on here ladies! I don't know where the time went for me. Did yoga again - bliss!

Pulpi - the poop victories are important to celebrate, good for you!

Beautician - so glad you had a lovely birthday

Wanting - good luck with move today! Hope all goes smoothly.

Elizardo, Anna and any other ladies moving home/waiting for home to be finished, I don't envy you, really hope you're in your new homes in plenty of time for July ! We're in a lovely but slightly decrepit victorian terrace that we're doing bit by bit. I'm desperately trying to find a way to get a new kitchen in pre- July as ours is falling apart. As ever it's whether we can make the finances stretch with all the baby accoutrements that we need too!

Scase - I've got 16 week apt on Friday (so more like 17 week), when's yours?

Happy Monday all Smile

Cookies when we first had number 3 we had a Renault scenic. The children were fine in the back and it was a car that easily fitted the car seats. My older two don't need a car seat now. However, although a big boot we never felt it was quite big enough. Plus my older children sometimes want friends over so a 7 seater made sense for us. I have friends with 3 that drive Volkswagen golfs, Vauxhall Astras etc. I think you will be fine it's just personal preference. We only have one seat up in the boot area of the car and that's how we will leave it so plenty of room for pushchair and lots of other bits.

Cheery I wish I had your energy. I'm struggling to exercise this time.

Cheery1 · 25/01/2016 11:00

Ah Beautician - the yoga I'm doing is mostly deep breathing tbh! It's just lovely to have a full hour off, with a lovely yoga teacher calmly telling you what to do. Bliss! Also as a first timer, I'm a right worry wort so the relaxation bit is great for me.

Also, I don't have other children to look after, so I'm in awe of all you ladies doing that on top of making another human. Not surprised you don't have the energy to exercise!

Bluebell20 · 25/01/2016 11:10

Aw Beautician, the spa sounds lush. And thanks everyone for all the suggestions earlier on in the thread about things to do before we are a family of three! It is really starting to hit home for me now that things are going to be a-changing...

I've still felt zero movement, although my bump is getting harder by the day. Having looked up anterior placentas on t'interweb, lots of people don't seem to feel anything at all until 20+ weeks, so I am just going to have to be very patient.

And I can't keep up with my husband... It took me ages to get on board with the idea of moving, and now that I've finally come round to it and have started drawing up a list of properties to view, he's decided that we should stay put and get a campervan to do up instead! Hmm

I'm thinking of buying a little pack of plain white 0-3 month bodysuits from John Lewis to do some cool fabric printing on. DH thinks I shouldn't be buying anything for the baby yet - he thinks it's still too soon, and that we'll get loads of hand-me-downs from mates anyway - but jaysus, how late does he want me to leave it?! I don't want to be waddling round the shops at 39 weeks, thanks very much! (Although I am planning on going to Glastonbury festival for a day at 39 weeks... Shhh. That's different.)

And speaking of which, is there a brand of reusable nappy that anyone has experience with and would recommend?

Scase1firsttimemum · 25/01/2016 11:22

Cheery mine is tomorrow, Ill be exactly 16 weeks then :)

As for the baby wearing, my midwife gave me a booklet thing and it said that you shouldnt ignore baby whenever its crying and it wont get overly attached and not want to be put down.. I'll try find it again and have a read haha, its something to do with trust though

^^ it had nothing to do with baby wearing, but simliar idea with always picking baby up rather than leaving it to cry

Bluebell20 · 25/01/2016 12:27

Ugh, husband has now fallen out with me because I asked whether he would be able to put enough seats in the van for three of us, and for four of us for when we have another child. I thought I was just asking a sensible question to make sure that we would be able to keep the van in the future. He thinks I'm peeing on his parade and am being negative.

I can't effing win. If I show no interest then I am being boring, if I get involved and ask questions then I am being negative! What's a girl to do?! (Storm upstairs and slam the door, apparently, based on my extremely mature reaction of five minutes ago.)

Urrrrggghhhhh give me strength! And the freelance work was going so well, as well! And now I can't bleeding concentrate because I'm so cross! Ugh.

Vikkijayne2507 · 25/01/2016 12:54

baby wearing of course personal choice, but I would like to just add I didnt bby wear my ds much i did when he was vey small but then he would try and dive bomb out of the sling so will be getting a wrap this time and playing around. I would like to just say that even if you dont baby wear you may have a child who point blank refuses to be put down, my son took a long time to get to sleep and the only way of doing so when younger was to rock him in his carry cot if we wanted our arms free and endless nighttime walks, luckily we live in portugal and it was spring last time and summer this time so should be ok.

Its very personal if you choose to baby wear, do crying it out sleep training etc etc, but all nurses drs and advice will tell you before 6 months do not sleep train, respond to their needs dont leave them crying it can have detrimental effects.

As i had a very hold me and dont even think of sitting down in the same position child I was worried that he was going to be a clingy toddler, and hes anything but happy to run around will come to me to show me stuff and take me to things but will also enjoy cuddles watching telly. My friend has a very clingy toddler who went crazy if she left his sight but he too is getting a lot better now its all down to personality of the child rather than our choices really
