thistledew - i think it is. as you get increasingly mahoosive, I found I couldn't sleep on my back anymore because i'd feel faint (pressure/weight of baby on blood vessels on spine) and if on side, I'd need an additional pillow (doesn't need to be specialist one in my experience) under my belly/under my leg for support.

youandme - i really hope your stitch can be done in a matter of day(s) so you can visit your Pa. have they given you any timing sense? Also will you need any recovery time or is it just a simple outpatient thing? Sorry bit ignorant.

photographerlady · 20/01/2016 09:03

Thistledew I have this snake shaped maternity pillow that I couldn’t live without makes sleeping so much easier as I can spoon it or bundle it in any position.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut Good luck with your stitch

mascaraisamust some trusts are terrible with blood. When we lived in London the fertility hospital (testing place) in White City lost our results 3 times.

Vickie360 Hope you feel better soon

minieggaddict dopplers are ok its just nerve-wracking when you can’t find anything and I found it happened a lot. Then the next day be back to normal again.

Mat appointment tomorrow not looking forward to admitting I gained 3 kilos since my last appointment

Cheery1 · 20/01/2016 09:20

youandme - good luck with consultant. Hope they can give you some clear idea of when you can go visit your Dad. Sending hugs x

Thistledew - I know the feeling, I'm in sleep-on-side training too and it's not going brilliantly! I've found a firmer pillow helps with shoulder crush, and even an extra pillow. I still find myself on my back but I think it's ok. As Elizardo says - soon we'll be too massive to sleep on our backs with our fainting!!

Mascara - that is soooo annoying. Can they rush next results through? My cousin got hers on the same day, none of this waiting rubbish.

wantingno2 · 20/01/2016 09:37

Good morning everyone hope your all well not had a chance to read through. So last night was awful had really bad pains down below so I went to my local epu and they checked me over and I've got a scan today at 3.40 the pain was really low down in my groin area I've also got my 16 week scan with the consultant next Thursday and midwife appointment next friday on a brighter note I get the keys to my new house on Monday I can't wait but it's all been so stressful I've spent all bloody week crying so I'm off to get my haircut today before my scan try and cheer myself up a bit x

wantingno2 · 20/01/2016 09:39

Ow I forgot to add I haven't had my NT results back yet and it's been two weeks I'm going to ask at the hospital today x

Cheery1 · 20/01/2016 09:40

Bluebell hope your commute was better today! I'm freelance too and I always find the first day to a new job stressful, especially the getting there bit. Sure you'll get in to a rhythm.

Vickie - I feel your pain, on day 2 of cold - head feels like it might explode, bleugh!

Cheery1 · 20/01/2016 09:41

wanting - hope all ok. Thinking of you. Glad you're getting a scan asap x

wantingno2 · 20/01/2016 09:48

Thanks cherry I'm so nervous just hope all is okay they checked my cervix yesterday and it's long and closed which is good x

Cheery1 · 20/01/2016 09:51

Well that's good Wanting. I don't know there seem to be all sorts of unexpected aches and pains in pregnancy! Any one heard of or experienced 'lightening crotch"?! Hope you get reassurance this afternoon x

Pinseyboo38 · 20/01/2016 10:03

mascara I'm exactly the same. It's so annoying lol x

wantingno2 · 20/01/2016 10:07

Hahaha lightening crotch that made me laugh although it sounds painful x

Cookiesandcoffee · 20/01/2016 10:12

Hope everything is ok wanting and it's just a normal pregnancy symptom. I have had a weird sensation almost like shooting down that I can't describe but I think I remember it from before. Yes I would chase for Nt results. Mine took forever. Take it to mean they are good results (easier said than done I know)

cheery hope you feel better soon

Eating chilli Doritos again at my desk by 9.15 this morning. Blush

RoseInWonderland · 20/01/2016 10:13

Gah have had no internet for a few days so have just spent the morning catching up!

Congratulations to everyone who had scans/blood results recently and those who have found out the gender. I am so so impatient to find out if this one is pink or blue! My 20 week scan is the 16th Feb so only four weeks to go but it feels so far away. We have two girls already so the other half is desperate for a boy, but I secretly want another girl! And I do actually think this one is a girl. Time will tell!

Woodsy I'm the same with food at the moment. Getting full really quickly. Can't face eating a proper meal most evenings as I just feel like I'm going to pop! Filling up on plenty of cereal though!

I'm trying to convince the husband that we need a new pram but he's just not giving in! We had a double with the twins and it was a great pram. It can be converted to a single but we got it out of the loft the other day and it's just so wide and bulky. I will just have to keep working on him!

Sickness is starting to trail off now thank goodness, but struggling to sleep now! Just keep waking up feeling so uncomfy. If it's not one thing it's another!

Vickie360 · 20/01/2016 10:45

Thanks everyone I'm feeling nearly human again thank goodness not great being ill when looking after 4 children 5 and under!
Hope everything goes ok this afternoon wanting pregnancy is so stressful with all the different aches and pains

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 20/01/2016 10:47

Hopes I haven't heard anything from the doctors about the protein in urine so presume all is ok.

Bird welcome. I'm due on the 8th July too. I've felt some definite movement from baby in the past two days.

Elizarado I definitely need some treatments done. I rarely get time. Hope you enjoyed your pampering.

Cookies I can't stop eating either. My favourite at the moment is soreen fruit loaf.

Youandme so pleased it looks like they are going to give you the stitch. That will be such a weight off your mind. So sorry to hear about your dad.

Bel thanks for the link I think I will treat myself.

Wanting I hope your scan goes well. Great news on the house. You are going to be very busy.

I really do have a baby bump now it's not just bloat. It's quite high up and hard although still flabby at the bottom. It's all that loose skin. I'm looking so different my face is chubbier too. I wonder if that could mean a girl this time or maybe I'm just fat. DH is convinced it's another boy which it probably will be.

15+5

Cookiesandcoffee · 20/01/2016 10:52

Oh and I meant to say fuzzy I would be very grateful of some sling advice/recommendations next time you are checking in Smile
I have hunted high and low and have definitely lost my Moby. Think it was lost in the last move. I do have a ring sling i used later on BUT is in a lovely floral pattern. I don't really want to use it on a boy?!
Although I did like my Moby, what are your opinions on them Vs a Caboo? I like the grey ones and they look like they are less fabric (I'm short!) and less faff. and I also quite like the look of the Boba, but some say the added latex means the sling sags after a while? They are also £20ish cheaper. Is the money justified?
Another question - which are best for summer? As it was as cold as it is now when dd2 was born! So snuggly then, but sweaty in July?

My 'local' sling meet isn't terribly local and will have 2 DDs with me in summer when this one is born so it would be a huge mission to make it down there.

Scase1firsttimemum · 20/01/2016 10:56

I have been getting lightning crotch since quite early on!! Dont get it as much now although I do get a bit of a shock, makes me stop what Im doing for a second where it comes out the blue haha!

Cheery1 · 20/01/2016 11:12

Hahaha scase! Glad lightning crotch made you smile Wanting! Wink

Cheery1 · 20/01/2016 11:18

Thanks Cookies, looking forward to having a clear head at some point!

Beautician - I've got that hard high bump too, still think I look like a chubster not a pregnant lady...

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 20/01/2016 16:22

Sorry I haven't been engaging much with the chat ladies - I've got such a lot on my plate at the moment, but I have been trying to keep up!

Quick update - I saw the consultant this morning. Although her call yesterday made it sound like a stitch was a certainty, actually she advised me not to have one. She said my cervix is borderline, and that as I have no other risk factors for premature labour, as things stand the risks of a stitch would probably outweigh the risks of not having it.

She has prescribed progesterone pessaries and I will have weekly cervical length scans (first one is tomorrow) to monitor the situation. A stitch is still an option if there is further shortening, but it may not be necessary.

I feel happy with this course of action as there will be regular monitoring, and the progesterone should help as well. The consultant was incredibly nice, which also helped!

wantingno2 · 20/01/2016 16:46

Hey everyone scan went fine they can't find resonance for pain so not much of an explanation but glad baby is okay very active 14+3 x

Ellizardo · 20/01/2016 17:27

Youandme - thank goodness you've had some clarity, she sounds like she knows her onions. Last preg I had fortnightly cervical checks as I had polyps/letz ten years ago etc and it was actually a really nice reassurance..turns out my cervix kept lengthening and was 'as tight as a packet of polos' according to the mw when I was induced at 39 weeks (ironically enough). Good luck and hope this means you can see your dad soon x

Cheery1 · 20/01/2016 17:39

Youandme thank goodness you feel a bit better and great that you don't have to have a stitch. Sounds like you're in good hands with your consultant too. Hope you can see your Dad soon.

Wanting that's great news that all ok! So pleased! What a cutie on the scan pic too.

Elizardo - 'tight as a packet of polos', well that's a new one on me. I feel duty bound to try to drop it in to conversation now, it's rather good, but how….

minieggaddict · 20/01/2016 17:43

Hi

So Doppler arrived and heard baby after about 5mins of faffing which I put down to not enough gel. For me it will be a great comfort but wouldn't of got one if I wasn't such a paranoid freak! Sorry can't remember who asked but it cost £24 on Amazon.

mascaraisamust · 20/01/2016 18:06

Youandme I've got progesterone pessaries for another week, been on it since two days after ovulation. So scared to stop it next week Confused

Wanting glad everything is ok!

Cheery and beautician, mine is the opposite of your low bump. Isn't it high for a girl, low for a boy? I need to stop looking at old wives tales!

Vickie and rose glad you are feeling better!

I think I will get a pregnancy pillow come payday then as I need to get comfy with this laying on the left malarkey!

Had a bit of browny discharge today, nothing since though. Scares the life out of me, especially as in weaning off the progesterone...

The new bloods shouldn't take too long to tell me about the vitamin d but who knows when the nuchal ones will turn up, if they even have them.
