youandme that's good news. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

birdandbee · 19/01/2016 14:35

Thank you for all the welcomes ☺️.
YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut hope all goes well with your consultant appointment - sounds alittle scary but it's good they are doing something like you say. Must be a scary time for you- sending you Chocolate and positive thoughts.

I have a posterior placenta so was told I would feel movement early.... God to know that it might very well be baby.... Rather than wind Blush.

Cheery1 · 19/01/2016 15:12

Hi bird welcome and other new ladies!

cookies - jan soooooo long!!! Like you will have to wait til Feb to look at Asos. So far loving sone dungarees I've spotted on there.

So tired and fuzzy today, had a dreadful meeting where I couldnt find a project file on my laptop, just couldn't remember where it was. Usually pretty on it but looked so dozy today Confused Think I might have another cold coming thanks to DH but also read tiredness and brain fog can last all pregnancy! Eek!

Cheery1 · 19/01/2016 15:13

youandme - that's great you're seeing consultant. Sooner the better so you can relax a bit, well about the pregnancy at least x

Jem01 · 19/01/2016 15:41

Hope your appointment goes well youandme my sister in law had something similar done too. She was so much more relaxed through her pregnancy.

I'm counting the days until payday!! January is such a long, broke month, well at least for me anyway! New York was great but not so good for my bank balance!

Has everyone shared news yet or still keeping to just family/close friends?

birdandbee · 19/01/2016 15:58

Just looked at the Stats post.... Looks like some of you have already found out if you are having a girl or boy??
We are paying for a scan at 16 weeks but didn't think you could find out until then or 20wks on NHS....

Lucy90 · 19/01/2016 16:13

Pulpi what kind of work are you in? I'm in a nursing home so no heavy lifting/carrying/pushing. Rest breaks as/when I need them in addition to usual breaks. Snacks and drinks as/when I need them

Cookiesandcoffee · 19/01/2016 17:18

youandme hope all goes well tomorrow. I would feel better knowing they are 'doing something'. I hope for you they can bring you some reassurance.
birdandbee if you have a harmony test you can tell based on chromosomes. I had a gender scan that I had as as Christmas present. They can be done from 16 weeks. Although given how clear mine was I would say I could have had the scan earlier! (Not that anywhere would do it)
I had my cars MOT today so that was another expense. And next month will need all new tyres so there goes my maternity ASOS shop Sad yuk to being a grown up.

pulpi · 19/01/2016 18:01

Lucy, I work in a university library as a library assistant. So up and down the stairs, up and down stools and stacks, some big shelving moves for start and end of term of heavy, awkward books on heavy sprites (carts). Luckily I can eat at my desk, so snacking isn't an issue. I'm more concerned about the lifting and all the twisting I do in my office chair leading to strain or RSI.

mascaraisamust · 19/01/2016 18:03

Bloods have been lost, classic! It's only happened twice before Hmm got to repeat them on Monday.

Feeling the January crunch too, my poor hair!! I look rough!

Bluebell20 · 19/01/2016 18:39

Oh mascara, what a joke!

Well, started the new job today and it was absolutely fine, although obviously an information overload. What was NOT fine was the bitch of a commute - took me an hour and twenty minutes to drive in, and an hour and fifteen to drive home - and that was leaving home at 7am and leaving work at 4.15pm.

Came home and sobbed because I couldn't see how I was going to do that drive for the next three months (albeit part-time).

Husband suggested trains, but we live in the darkest nowhere - the closest station is 20 minutes away and the train route from there to my work is 1 hour 15 minutes, PLUS walking at the other end. After a really good search, I've found a station that's only half an hour away, where the train journey is only 35 minutes. Total bliss. So that is what I'm doing tomorrow, even though it means I'll have to leave well before the crack of dawn!

Early bed tonight for me. But I really need to go to the gym as well :(

17 weeks today!

Bluebell20 · 19/01/2016 18:39

Sorry YouandMe, forgot to respond to your post as well - fantastic news. That will put your mind at rest!

mascaraisamust · 19/01/2016 18:47

Great news youandme.

Bluebell hope the commute sorts itself out!

Annoyed about my bloods as I really needed to know if I was still difficient and to whether I need to take more vitamin d but heyho! Hopefully the nuchal bloods aren't lost too! So rubbish.

Vickie360 · 19/01/2016 19:28

Hi everyone I've had a terrible cold so been feeling rubbish for the last few days hope everyone is ok.
Mascara that is terrible they really are terrible sometimes.
Bluebell hope tomorrow is better for you.
Hello to all the newbies just going to go read through what I've missed
14+4

minieggaddict · 19/01/2016 19:33

Youandme - great that you're getting somewhere. Good luck.

Dh has ordered a Doppler as I'm going mad whether I'm feeling movement or not and he reckons I'll end up ringing the mw everyday for her to listen if we don't get one! Mw told me that now I've felt a few I should feel movement everyday but I'm questioning what I'm feeling all the time as its all so faint. Didn't feel dd until 18 weeks and only really knew it was her at the 20 week scan. My first appt with her she said there's no pattern til 24 weeks so I'm confused. Hopefully this time tomorrow I'll be calm again!

Ellizardo · 19/01/2016 19:45

Youandme - how's your Dad? Thinking of you

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 19/01/2016 20:12

He is not good Ellizardo. And now I definitely can't get down there because I have to be up here getting a cervical stitch. Thanks for asking though x

mascaraisamust · 19/01/2016 20:23

Minie I've read conflicting things about doplers, hope it puts your mind at ease and doesn't worry you further, especially when baby is hiding. So hard to just trust all is ok isn't it.

Vickie hope you're feeling better!

Youandme, sorry to hear that. Hope things get better, sounds like you deserve a bit of luck and a break.

Vickie360 · 19/01/2016 21:22

Youandme sorry to hear about your dad hopefully you can have your stitch soon.
I'm jealous of everyone having their scans so soon mines not till 8 March and it seems ages away

minieggaddict · 19/01/2016 21:22

Youandme sorry to hear about your dad. Hope you get some well deserved good news.soon.x

Mascara - Dopplers aren't for everyone but had one last time and found it a great comfort.

Cookiesandcoffee · 19/01/2016 22:43

youandme really sorry to hear your dad isn't doing well. Such a worrying time for you, sending hugs Thanks
bluebell hope the commute works itself out, does sound like a mission. Times like this I have to keep telling myself 'it's not forever'. Don't even think about the gym with the brain over load and physical overload of the commute! It can wait!
mascara that's so annoying! I would be cross. What a faff as well having to go back. Grr.
Sorry to hear about your cold vickie so many bugs around at the mo. Praying I don't catch anymore. Both my DDs have had sickness bugs this week and I'm crossing every thing!
mini if it puts your mind at rest then totally go for it. Are they particularly expensive ? I like the idea of them but not the panic of not being able to find something?! I must admit I'm quite tempted...

BelOfTheBall79 · 19/01/2016 22:46

Youandme sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope he gets better very soon Thanks Glad to hear though that your cervical stitch is going to be done, at least that shows they're taking it seriously and hopefully will help put your mind at rest a little.

Mascara I can't believe they've lost your bloods again! Must be really bloody annoying for you.

Welcome to new people on the thread! Can't believe there are still people to come, we'll be an even busier board! So lovely to have people to share this with though. A close friend of mine is pregnant, about two months ahead of me, but she lives in a totally different part of the country so feel like I am missing her lots. So brilliant to have all of you ladies!

I am wearing more obvious maternity clothes to work tomorrow! The stuff I've been wearing so far has been with the aim of hiding things. But I am finally going to tell my team tomorrow, which means I can be more open with it and also that I get to wear a lush dress I got in the Seraphine sale! My boss already knows and he said ok to tell other people now. I look after quite a big team so was worried they'd make me wait until my mat cover was sorted but they're all ok with it now! He even said something about "getting an outpouring of love" or something similar which was nice but somewhat out of character...!!

Ok, got to be up early to travel so goodnight and hope everyone has a good day tomorrow x

BelOfTheBall79 · 19/01/2016 22:53

Ps think Beautician asked about which pregnancy pillow I got. I have really helpfully thrown away the packaging but think it was this one: www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3988514.htm?CMPID=GS001&_$ja=cgid:18091972645%7Ctsid:59156%7Ccid:189942085%7Clid:96719108005%7Cnw:g%7Ccrid:77627773285%7Crnd:10133923447767550891%7Cdvc:t%7Cadp:1o10%7Cbku:1&gclid=CODq4936tsoCFSsOwwodgSAK8A

Sorry for terrible link!

I got it from Jojo Maman Bebe though. They also had the dream genii which looked ok to but I got this one as thought it would be more flexible and also it can be used for breastfeeding, as a cushion etc.

mascaraisamust · 20/01/2016 06:57

Talking of pregnancy pillows, I'm finding it hard to sleep on my left without crushing my shoulder! I normally sleep on my right side Hmm (Sod's law). Trying to getting into the habit now whilst it's early but I find myself awake on my back/right side. So think a pillow is a definite for me.

Thistledew · 20/01/2016 07:07

Is sleep positioning something that comes quite naturally when certain positions start to get uncomfortable? I sleep quite deeply but am also quite active and move position a lot. I have already noticed that I have stopped sleeping on my front, but can't see myself staying in any one other position unless I get very uncomfortable. My favourite position seems to be on my back with my arm behind my head - I've no idea how I stop myself turning to this position.
