Allthegood we are due date buddiesSmileGrin

Kentnurse2015 · 17/01/2016 12:54

Yes! I'm a nurse in a busy Emergency Department. Last time I took 2 weeks Annual Leave at 34 weeks pregnant and then officially went off on maternity leave at 36 weeks and that was totally the right thing for me to do so may try something similar - although the final weeks are hardly going to be relaxing with a toddler to look after! Work is probably easier!!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 17/01/2016 12:58

Awesome scase I haven't had a due date buddy on here before. we can do the countdown together Smile

birch I had my nuchal and bloods done on 7th Jan and had my letter with results on 15th Jan.

BelOfTheBall79 · 17/01/2016 13:41

Thanks allthegood I will take a look at those!

I started to look at travel systems today too...that's another minefield isn't it! Definitely would appreciate some thoughts and recommendations from existing mums on all that. Can you get a different brand of car seat to the rest of the system etc? Beautician think you have the head start on this one don't you!

Pinseyboo38 · 17/01/2016 14:09

Afternoon ladies, hope everyone is well. I do love coming on here and seeing what everyone's up to. I haven't really been discussing the pregnancy with anyone at the minute as I just don't feel like I can till I get my blood results. Hopefully I should know by Tuesday, Friday at the latest. Keeping everything crossed. Really want to get excited but just feel a bit disconnected xxx

Bluebell20 · 17/01/2016 14:09

I also love the idea of batch cooking. We often do that anyway - we started when I was absolutely knackered full-time teaching, and we've got ourselves into the habit now of cooking three or four times as much as we need, and then freezing all the extra portions. I hadn't thought about not wanting to cook with a newborn, though - will start stocking up the freezer from late April I think!

mascaraisamust · 17/01/2016 14:24

I need to clear my freezer first Hmm goodness knows what hides in there! Batch cooking ideas then?

Mine is a big batch of spag Bol - then separate it in half and convert half to chilli (just adding kidney beans, chilli powder etc).

Pinseyboo38 · 17/01/2016 15:19

I don't have a freezer Confused

Ellizardo · 17/01/2016 15:29

Cheery - preg Pilates booked with yoga on the side!

Scase1firsttimemum · 17/01/2016 15:40

Got myself in a right tizz earlier, been having a bit of pain on my left side, and felt like I peed myself earlier but it was discharge, phoned bournemouth hosp then had to phone poole, but they said everything sounds okay 😂 gave me a fright earlier whilst in Sainsburys though

Pinseyboo38 · 17/01/2016 16:20

Poor you Scase. It feels like the worry is never ending. Glad you got some reassurance x

FuzzyDucker · 17/01/2016 16:55

Scase, there are all kinds of random pains in pregnancy. It's mostly stretching at this point, then the baby will be kicking you to pieces in 10 weeks! Ah the joys.

I worked till 38 weeks last time but only part time. This time I'm part time anyway and am not going back, so I'll probably work right up to my due date or thereabouts, depending on when they want to get someone to take over from me I suppose. although if I was full time and could leave at 34 weeks then I definitely would! Especially in summer. Those last few weeks when even maternity clothes don't fit are tough! I was nesting like mad from 35 weeks or so last time and having to stop to go to work was a real pain lol!

15+1 and feeling a bit less sick, yay!

HopesAndDreams15 · 17/01/2016 17:10

Evening all,

Taking into account the time of year (let's hope this summer isn't too hot!) and how stressful my job is, I plan on finishing work at 35 or 36 weeks. I'll get the house sorted, do some batch cooking and lie around in front of a fan in my oversized underwear...can't wait! Smile

Tired and not looking forward to my working week ahead...need another Sunday.

Jem01 · 17/01/2016 17:13

Beloftheball also check out the new Renault kadjar, it's slightly cheaper than a qashqai and think similar size. We're getting ours end of March, can't wait! Also batch cooking is a great idea too!

Pinsey keeping everything crossed for you, hopefully you get results soon.

Scase how are you feeling now? Hopefully better? Friday I was close to almost peeing myself at work, horrible feeling. All I could think of was great I've got months left of this!!!

After hearing all your experiences will go ahead with 36 weeks as planned. It works for as as just the right time to wrap things up in the office plus I get enough time to myself before baby arrives.

Cookiesandcoffee · 17/01/2016 18:35

pinsey hope do you manage without a freezer?! mascara I always batch cook bolognese it's a good one. I've been thinking about making home make souls in batches. Probably not as ideal for summer months though.

Soooo ladies... Scan went well.. Took them 30 mins (lady was v patient) and got off bed several times, jumped around, all sorts. The little sod was not co operating. Then suddenly I went 'that's a willy' .. and it was!! He was playing with it!! ShockOfficially in team blue Grinfeeling really warm and fuzzy, and very real!

Pinseyboo38 · 17/01/2016 18:57

Awww Cookies how exciting for you.
My kitchen just doesn't have the space so I have a little ice box in the fridge. Haven't had one for over 10 years. I'm sure if I did have one I would just fill it with ice cream anyway Smile

Scase1firsttimemum · 17/01/2016 19:07

It was horrible, never felt so worried in my life, couldnt control myself!

Im feeling better now Jem after a nice long nap! Ive had no more discharge and pain has gone only twinges when I move suddenly or struggle to get off the sofa (yes I struggle now! My stomach is getting in the way!) cant believe a bit of growth in the stomach can get in the way quite a bit!

pulpi · 17/01/2016 19:17

Oh Cookies, that's hilarious that he was playing with his willy! I suppose now you can start narrowing down on boy names, eh?

mascaraisamust · 17/01/2016 19:20

A boy! Ah cookies!

I've just moved my gender scan to the 1st Feb. So two weeks tomorrow! Something to aim for I guess.

Felt like absolute rubbish all day, finally managing to eat again and the headache is lifting ready for Monday morning Smile

Cheery1 · 17/01/2016 20:11

Great news elizardo, enjoy! Look forward to hearing how Pilates is too - so far I've got an unopened Pilates pregnancy dvd that I need motivation to start!

HopesAndDreams15 · 17/01/2016 20:11

Aw lovely news Cookies! Smile

Cheery1 · 17/01/2016 20:14

Batch cooking is a great idea - do a fair bit anyway but great plan to stock up.

pinsey you'll need to request care packages aka dinner brought round by visitors. No food = no cuddle with the babyWink

Cheery1 · 17/01/2016 20:16

Great news cookies - team blue, how exciting!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 17/01/2016 20:40

Fab news cookies hoping to join team blue myself Smile

cheery I've also got an unopened pregnancy Pilates DVD too - keep meaning to open it everyday but can't find the motivation

Cookiesandcoffee · 17/01/2016 21:19

Ha yes in theory pulpi but so far it's not looking great. Still not one name we both like - sigh. Lucky we still have a long time! In all honesty I'm so happy and shocked and I just thought I wouldn't ever have a boy.
That's exciting mascara, it's so worth it it was lovely. Also, had it been my 20 week scan they wouldn't have told me as was impossible to see given his position.
