I'm 9 weeks today and the only symptoms I have are sickness. Been that way for I while

prettyflowers111 · 12/01/2016 10:47

pipo you must be so on edge. I'm just telling myself that whatever will be will be... not that it's helping much!

Just spoke to midwife.... The only time they are in my area is a Friday afternoon which I work all day every Friday so she's asked me to travel to a different clinic on Monday to see her. Bit bummed as it's about 8 miles away, oh will have the car as he's working (we share a car) and it's not on the bus route. No idea how I'm going to get there since I've not told anyone yet either. Bugger! Need to have a brain storm. Glad I've spoken to her though and got the ball rolling. I've the booking appointment Monday morning and my reassurance scan Monday evening.... exciting stuff!

M2B816 · 12/01/2016 10:57

MamaB Ditto! 1st Feb seemed like a really long wait. I only have the boobs to check, hence I do check a couple of times a day to make sure it's still painful Blush

MissClarke86 · 12/01/2016 10:58

Hi ladies, I've not been on for a while as things haven't been looking good. Confirmed today as I've been for a few early scans and today there's no sign of baby. I'm booked for a D&C on Monday to remove the sack.

Thanks for all the chat and support and I wish you all the best of luck with lovely healthy pregnancies.Flowers

bearhuggy · 12/01/2016 11:00

Pipo try not to worry too much, sending you positive vibes and hopefully Saturday will bring you good news, how far along will you be by the next scan??

pretty thats rather annoying, can't you take a taxi there and back? Or perhaps a close friend/family member who you could tell and they could take you?

I am 11 + 4 today and was hoping the nausea would go but seems to be ramping up! anyone else had this? I do count myself lucky as haven't actually been sick at all but am struggling with waves of sickness and had a bit of a wobbly turn on the tube this morning which isn't ideal. Central line was way too overcrowded and found myself being rammed into a corner with a guy breathing on my face Confused Are people starting to wear baby on board badges yet?! not sure when the right time would be as don't want people thinking I am a fraud as no obvious bump!!

TattieHowkerz · 12/01/2016 11:15

Sorry to hear that missclarke. All the best to you. Thanks

Christinedonna · 12/01/2016 11:22

Pipo1704 · 12/01/2016 11:49

So sorry to hear that missclarke

Take care of yourself xx

Pipo1704 · 12/01/2016 11:49

I think I'll be 8 weeks ish come Saturday

OwlinaTree · 12/01/2016 11:49

Sorry missc

lilygirl81 · 12/01/2016 12:35

Missclarke I'm so sorry, take care of yourself and give yourself time to grieve.

Pipo I hope things turn out ok for you, I had fairly constant period type cramps earlier on too but all seemed fine at my scans.

Bear I hear you about the nausea. I'm 12 weeks today and imagined I'd wake up feeling full of energy and no nausea, in reality I barely kept my breakfast down! I've been in hospital twice since I hit 10 weeks, so it definitely can get worse around this time unfortunately.

I've just booked another private scan for this afternoon as I've been freaking myself out. I can't see any sign of a bump and as I've lost so much weight (10kg) my clothes all fit me. I just want to know the baby is still ok, and my 12 week scan isn't until next Friday, which was just too long for me to wait without working myself up completely.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 12/01/2016 12:41

So so sorry missC. Hope all goes smoothly on Monday. Look after yourself, you'll be in my thoughts Flowers
Bear yeah nausea seemed to ramp up about 10 weeks here too! Was absolutely awful all of last week, last couple of days it's got a bit better in the daytime but evenings are still bad.
lily you're at 12 weeks! Hurray! Hope the nausea gives you a break soon. Don't worry about no bump, my first successful pregnancy I didn't show for ages, still looked completely normal at 12 weeks. Have barely got a bump now, just look like I've had a big lunch! But it's good that you're getting another scan, it's worth it for peace of mind I think.

Christinedonna · 12/01/2016 12:45

Happy 12 weeks lily!!

Christinedonna · 12/01/2016 12:46

I can really see my heartbeat in my stomach. Like it's moving with every beat? Is that a pregnancy thing or just a thing

bearhuggy · 12/01/2016 12:56

so sorry miss, take care of yourself Flowers

Lily you have really been through it with the sickness, poor thing. Really hope that things start to get better for us soon as it's so boring isn't it! Have just managed 2 delicious oranges...think I must have been craving some Vit C. We also have the same scan date next Friday, I was hoping it would be a bit sooner as desperate to see another pic and check all ok. Private scan might be a good idea!

bearhuggy · 12/01/2016 13:12

Glen thats good to know about the bump...I feel like nothing is there! I am naturally small framed so was thinking it would show quicker, apparently not the case. Reassuring to know it takes a while.

Anyone using/good tips on stretch mark prevention creams? I have just been bought a lovely little Mama Mio pampering kit from a friend which includes tummy cream and a 'boob tube' cream, will let you all know how it works.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 12/01/2016 16:02

Finally had booking appt today at 11+4, all straightforward. Was a different midwife to my last booking in and she was lovely too - the 2 alternate apparently. She's sent my notes off as urgent for my scan referral so hopefully won't be long to wait!
bear I've always heard stretch marks are one of those things you can't control...common sense would say that looking after your skin would help though! I can't help as I escaped any stretch marks on the bump, literally not a single mark - but my boobs were absolutely ruined by pg, and not helped by 10 months of bf! I'm not exaggerating when I say I know pensioners with better boobs than me. Hey ho, small price to pay, and it's DH's fault anyway so he has to just put up with it Grin

bearhuggy · 12/01/2016 16:52

FourFor glad your booking in went well! I had mine on Friday, my midwife is called David, very wrong of me but was a little shocked when I saw a guy...but he was super nice and weirdly very easy to talk to about it all.

Yes I have heard the same about the stretch marks, have been using Mustela Double Action since I found out as really paranoid and hope this will give me the best chance! Any other trusted recommendations appreciated from any of you ladies Grin

Have been checking into the July forum a bit and some of the 2nd time mums to be have posted some really useful items that they recommend investing in, here is a list below as may come in handy for some of you guys too (I mean I have no idea about half of this stuff!) Any other wise tips, please do share!!

Slings / stretchy wrap or close caboo
Giant muslin cloths
Cloth wipes (cheeky wipes)
Stokke Tripp Trap highchair

Organic coconut oil (for bums, dry skin, cradle cap..)
Lansinoh cream
Lansinoh breast pads
Co sleeper cot
Manual breast pump
Baby bouncer
White noise app for sleeping
Elephant glow light mobile
Sleepyhead for cot
Waterwipes
For bad nappy rash yellow tubes of metamium cream
Aldi nappies (same factory as pampers!)
Aveeno cream for any eczema / dry skin
Sheepskin pram booties (don't bother with shoes)
Grobag sleeping bag - 1 tog for summer, 2.5 for winter
Calpol plugs if bunged up
Mobile for above cot
Playmat from birth is essential to give you 15 min to yourself!
Jumperoo from 4 months - same reasons as above
A couple of vests and babygros to start - don't buy much as they grow so quick!!
Snooze shade to go on pram - good for summer babies (don't hang blankets in summer as baby can overheat)

FourForYouGlenCoco · 12/01/2016 17:12

Bloody hell that's a long list! Looking at it my instant thought is no to the cheeky wipes (unless you know you want to cloth bum, etc and are passionate about it - otherwise it's just more bloody laundry!) and no to the overpriced high chair (there are much cheaper options than the Stokke that are just as good!). Yes to some of the stuff but not for a while. I would say my 'newborn essentials' would be:
A good quality sling/wrap
Car seat
Muslins
Baby wipes & nappies
Metanium & sudocrem
Not so many vests & onesies that they're in the next size up before they've had a chance to wear them all, but enough given that they enjoy throwing up down themselves and can have some frankly incredible poo explosions/leakage
Something for them to sleep in - cot, co-sleeper, Moses, whatever
If bf:
Lansinoh cream
Breast pads
If ff:
Steriliser
Bottles
Formula

And that's pretty much it. You can get through at least the first few weeks, if not months, with nothing else at all. Babies really don't need much stuff!

hgleslie89 · 12/01/2016 17:37

Bear I hadn't vomited for over a week (been feeling nauseous, but no upchucking), but found myself with my head down the toilet this morning at 11+1. Really thought I was dying down!

bearhuggy · 12/01/2016 18:12

haha FourFor lolling at your post, that was indeed a rather long list! Thank you for your newborn revisions, super helpful.

Ahh hg sorry to hear that, I have really upped my water intake today and that seems to have helped a little. Hope it gets better for you, make sure to eat little and often, whatever you can manage.

OwlinaTree · 12/01/2016 18:21

I found a sling really useful, try finding a sling library near you to see some different options. I have the close caboo, it's a bit easier to use because you don't have to tie it every time which helps. Cloth wipes are great, much better than the normal wet wipes but I wouldn't bother with them unless you want to do cloth bums too.

prettyflowers111 · 12/01/2016 18:33

Gahhh more spotting this afternoon with some mild cramps. Cacking myself. Will cart myself off to gp in the morning and beg to be sent to the epu as I hate not knowing. I'm really an anxious mess right now. Still no sickness or other symptoms over here either which isn't helping my anxiety. Fingers crossed for a lovely gp who will send me straight down in the morning.

Christinedonna · 12/01/2016 18:58

How far are you pretty?
