Happy New Thread (fingers buffering crossed this works AND I can manage to post the link Confused )

Emma - I was much tireder in the first tri and sick for a few weeks with this one (girl) compared to breezing the first tri and no sickness whatsoever with my DS.

2nd trimester so far no differences at all.

nehagarg · 11/01/2016 17:32

Yep it is emma .. Just updated it

I have been fairly symptom free. Did dream it was a boy this morning though and have been wanting to eat spicy which points to a boy. But then, I love chocolate just as much ... Grin

cautiousoptimist1 · 11/01/2016 17:34

Congratulations nehagarg the boys are catching up!

Welcome geneva.

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted but have been reading along. It's lovely to hear about everyone's scans. Makes mine feel ages away though as it's not till Feb 4th! Lots of people seem to be finding out the gender but am still set on having a surprise - I had one last time and it was lovely - although seeing everyone on here knowing what they are having is tempting. Especially as I don't feel very pregnant at the moment - am 16+4 and still no sign of a bump or movement. Hopefully that will change soon though!

AltCarbon · 11/01/2016 17:38

Although I do still have bouts of sickness and a DVT to remind that me there is definitely something going on.

emma85x · 11/01/2016 17:41

Interesting! My scan isn't until Feb 4th (17+4 today) so gender predictions are keeping me occupied!! :-)

emma85x · 11/01/2016 17:42

Altcarbon We're 20 week scan buddies!

laughingGnomette · 11/01/2016 18:39

nehagarg - aawww! Lovely news!! Don't be worried by such a small measurement difference, just see it as an opportunity for an extra scan :)

Good luck to all with a scan tomorrow.

Baby really has been giving me a good poke today. I had a lovely saag paneer for dinner last night so I think he/she must have enjoyed the iron and spices :)

MollieRos · 11/01/2016 18:49

Exciting news nehagarg! Smile That does seem like a very small difference in measurements, I'm sure they're just being over-cautious.

And welcome Joey Smile

I had a long and stressful day at work this evening, came home and have been throwing up, I think just from tiredness. So frustrating- every time I think I'm done with the sickness, I have more. DH is cooking me some tea then I'll be pretty much straight to bed I reckon. I don't expect I'll get much sleep tonight- I've got my scan tomorrow, eeek!

MadrigalElectromotive · 11/01/2016 19:38

Good luck Mollie - mine is tomorrow as well so I feel you on the nerves front! I am also still sick so know how frustrating that is too!

MollieRos · 11/01/2016 20:20

Good luck to you too Madrigal!

Violet88 · 11/01/2016 20:40

Good luck with your scans tomorrow Mollie and Madrigal

Welcome to Team Blue Nehagarg congratulations on your little man! x

nehagarg · 11/01/2016 20:47

Thanks everyone. Feels great to know finally. Smile

Good luck for scans tomorrow.

redtammy · 11/01/2016 21:26

snowflake do you think you could be anaemic? Iron deficiency makes you feel exhausted and generally pretty rubbish.

BiffleRoo · 12/01/2016 06:54

DS has taken to waking at 0430 every morning and refusing to settle. I'm exhausted and it's brought back the morning sickness. I was feeling pretty symptom free at last until then. Tried going to bed when the girls do but the dreaded insomnia keeps me awake.

Snowflake16 · 12/01/2016 07:16

redtammy I did think that at first but at my 16 week appointment the midwife had the blood results from my booking in and she said my iron levels were high and I've been taking pregnancy vitamins which contain iron so I don't think it's that.
I have been feeling faint on and off since Christmas and nearly passed out twice now.

Belleboo23 · 12/01/2016 07:53

Congrats nehagarg!! Good luck to today's scan ladies xx
Snowflake...could it be low blood pressure?

AltCarbon · 12/01/2016 08:21

Yay emma roll on the 4th! Do I remember that you're also a head of department in a secondary school or have I got confused? If you are I hope everything is going well as schools enter the mad dash to the summer exams and for us to our babies.

I met my consultants yesterday for the first time, for DS I was just midwife led, but this time I have an obstetrician and a haematologist. They both seem really nice though and talked me through everything that happened with my DVT and explained that taking the time to recover properly is important as I was getting starting to get frustrated with how slowly it seems to be going. They signed me off work for another 4 weeks till I see them again (I've been off since 2nd Dec) and told me not feel guilty which is easier said than done.

Oh and to anyone that is still being sick lots please make sure you keep up your fluids and get help if you can't as I was told that dehydration due to the hyperemesis was a significant contributing factor to the clots.

AltCarbon · 12/01/2016 08:23

Snowflake I also thought low blood pressure. What was your last reading like?

nehagarg · 12/01/2016 08:52

snowflake I have low blood pressure and have nearly passed out twice so far. Definitely check. That said, mid pregnancy is lowest and from here on BP should rise.

Thanks belleboo. Finding out has really helped DH bond. He has been talking to and about the baby a lot more than usual.

Belleboo23 · 12/01/2016 09:12

Aw I'm hoping it will be like that for us my nhs scan is not until the 5th but have a gender scan booked for next Wednesday. Be nice to say he or she instead of it or the baby!
I went in a pram shop at the weekend there's so much choice!! Always bought m&p for the other two but liking the icandy apart from the price tag!!

laughingGnomette · 12/01/2016 10:05

Belle - I agree! There is just so much choice! Our nine year old bugaboo is still going strong so I'll re-use that for newborn/small baby phase but I'd like to get another smaller one with a better fold for travel or trips into the city but there are just too many to choose from :)

bikingintherain · 12/01/2016 10:06

We have an icandy from previous two DC and highly recommend!
