mrsmugoo I hope you feel much better soon. I haven't had the flu jab yet but I'm going to speak to my MW about having it later on today at my 16 week appointment. On that note, has anyone made the decision not to have the flu jab?? I'd be really interested to hear your views before my appointment at 3:30!

So glad I'm not the only one having crazy dreams! So bizarre!

Tiredness is back with a vengeance now I'm back at work. I was in bed by 8pm last night and getting up this morning was tricky to say the least! I am in awe of those of you who are going through this and already have DCs! x

laughingGnomette · 06/01/2016 09:48

emma - the NHS has some info about the jab here. I think the fact that it isn't a live virus being injected into you is important as it means you won't get flu symptoms from having it, which is what I think a lot of people worry about.

Belleboo23 · 06/01/2016 09:48

Just saw the doctor she offered me meds for nausea/sickness and I said no but now wondering if I did the right thing. I feel sick more than actually be sick although did throw up today I feel better for it. Has anyone else taken it mainly for nausea?

Emma I've just booked my flu jab for before my 16 week appointment tomorrow morning, are there risks involved with it then I've put off having it but not really sure why!

Eastend2015 · 06/01/2016 09:56

Morning all- still got a horrible cold here too which has totally sapped what little energy I had. I got the flu jab at about 11 weeks and had no side effects at all- shame they can't vaccinate against colds!!

Belleboo23 · 06/01/2016 10:13

My sister has to have it yearly for her asthma and she said worst she's had is a sore arm for a few days. You would think all the vitamins would keep colds away I guess our little body invaders take it all for themselves!!

TattedPixie · 06/01/2016 12:26

I have the flu jab every year because of Asthma and a previous stroke and I've never had flu since, just a sore arm for a little while so always give them your non prominent arm.
Had midwife appointment yesterday and heard little ones heartbeat, nice and strong and she found it pretty much straight away.
Just got back from seeing my consultant, having a uterine artery Doppler at the same time as my gender scan because of medical history.
Isn't pregnancy just so easy! (NOT!)

BiffleRoo · 06/01/2016 13:50

Consultant appointment this morning and really dull. Took BP but didn't listen in to baby. Next mw appointment is at 28 weeks!!! As expected I will have an ELCS at 39 weeks but also have to have growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks. Refused GTT due to childcare issues and I don't think it's necessary.

bikingintherain · 06/01/2016 13:58

Belleboo I took it mainly for nausea. It was debilitating, I didn't go out of my flat for two weeks and mostly was in bed. It definitely helped and would recommend it if your struggling.

Belleboo23 · 06/01/2016 14:16

Thanks I think I'll ask her about it tomorrow then biking, it's just that it's going on so long and comes and goes often worse in the evening. I've managed to start eating a bit better recently though managed to have a smoothie every day for last few days full of frozen fruit still struggling with veg but it's better than mainly salt and vinegar crisps and tuc crackers!!

MagicDucky · 06/01/2016 15:49

Just checking in again, I've been busy busy busy recently so no time to catch up with the thread! Hope everyone is good?!

emma85x · 06/01/2016 17:33

Thanks for the advice ladies, much appreciated I had the flu jab this afternoon. I had my 16 week appointment (I'm 16+6 today) my MW is so lovely. I'm a worrier and she's very reassuring! BP is good and baby's heartbeat was 130ish (her guesstimate!) However she's sent my urine sample off as it was darker than normal and the dip stick showed some proteins. Seeing as though I drink gallons of water a day I've come away feeling confused and a bit worried. Has anyone else had their urine sample sent off? X

Belleboo23 · 06/01/2016 17:49

Had mine sent off at first appointment with midwife, I have had bladder and kidney problems in the past so that may be why. She said I'll only hear from them if any problems and I never heard back

emma85x · 06/01/2016 18:00

That's reassuring Belle than you. I was really surprised when she said it would be sent off as have no prior issues with kidneys or anything.

MollieRos · 06/01/2016 18:17

I've been feeling knackered too... I'd thought the tiredness was getting a bit better, but actually I think it was just that I was off work over christmas so was relaxing more- now I'm back at work I'm so tired again!

Belleboo23 · 06/01/2016 18:17

If it gets sent off again tomorrow at my mw appointment I'll ask more questions!

bikingintherain · 06/01/2016 18:40

I know what you mean mollie I'm suddenly knackered this week. But then as you say the holiday is over.

And without wanting to moan too much I keep having awful headaches and today I feel like someone has kicked me in he crotch.

kezod · 06/01/2016 18:44

Saw my consultant today too tatted, don't really know what I was expecting but it was very boring, the MW listened in for the heartbeat though which was nice. roll on 20 week scan!

laughingGnomette · 06/01/2016 18:58

emma don't worry too much about your urine sample being sent off, its just to make double sure everything is ok. I've had mine sent off a couple of times for proteins or growths but the results came back clear each time. Hopefully yours will too :)

earlgreydrinker · 06/01/2016 19:45

Happy new year! I've been away for a week so will have to read back to catch up. Hope everyone is keeping well.
I wanted to ask if anyone else was suffering with discomfort in the crotch area and I see biking has mentioned it above.
We have been in London for 5 days so lots of walking and standing and basically i feel like I have been sat on a bike for way too long! That's the only way I can describe it. Could this be spd? Does anyone have experience - I don't remember anything like this last time! Is it worth asking my midwife?

earlgreydrinker · 06/01/2016 19:46

Oh andemma I had a sample sent off and it was all clear.

MollieRos · 06/01/2016 21:06

biking and earlgrey I have the kicked in the crotch feeling too! It all feels kind of bruised- very odd! It's not hugely painful, but not very comfy either. Perhaps I'm toughening up slightly (despite all my moaning on here Smile)- it comes to something when you wake up one morning feeling like you've been booted in the crotch for no reason and just shrug it off as just another bizarre pregnancy symptom Grin

iamdivergent · 06/01/2016 21:12

Also feeling like I've been kicked in the crotch - i did a thread about it the other day actually! Midwife didn't seem concerned though told me to get back in touch if it didn't get better.

I am also, once again, exhausted. Struggling to keep my eyes open tonight - early bed I think.

Belvedere · 06/01/2016 21:29

Yes to kicked in the crotch! I wrote about it last week and think it's pelvic girdle pain. I'm going to the docs next week to get a large prescription of gaviscon so going to mention it there. I had it with my last baby but much later on.

I did a pregnancy yoga sessions tonight and it felt quite nice giving it a stretch!

Rosi393 · 06/01/2016 21:58

Hi ladies

Just new to this thread. Only coming across it now. I'm also due in June, 16 weeks now.
Waiting on next MW appt which is 21st jan.
has everyone got a bump yet? I don't and its slightly worrying 🙈. But other than that all had been fine so far.

Spock27 · 06/01/2016 22:09

Belvedere how was pregnancy yoga? I'm going tomorrow to my first session but I've never done yoga or anything like it before so a bit worried I'm going to be unable to do anything! I'm so stiff right now with sore hips and lower back, and my bump has just appeared in the last week and feels quite sore and stretched.

Welcome Rosi, don't worry about a lack of bump, everyone shows at different times and if you're anything like me you'll go from not showing at all to suddenly needing emergency maternity wear! My sil didn't show until about 30 weeks and she's very slim so you would think you'd be able to see it. My nephew was 9 pounds at birth as well!
