Happy New Thread (fingers buffering crossed this works AND I can manage to post the link Confused )

One day till our gender scan! Excited now Smile

Bel lovely to hear your pink news!

Well I haven't been feeling sick for a few days now, I've not needed to wear the sickness bands at all so that's good. I've put on about 9lbs already tho so really need to get back to doing some exercise now I don't feel as bad!

How are other people getting on with exercise?

mrsmugoo · 03/01/2016 12:49

Where did you get your scan done belvedere? I'm feeling really impatient to find out the sex!

jellybelly85 · 03/01/2016 13:33

Betty79 same here. Just went for a gentle 30mins swim today (knackered now!) and planning to do more walking and do one exercise class a week.

mrslewis2015 I had a similar thing. When nausea started to lift a few weeks ago I then threw up twice in one week (having not vomited at all before). Not sure why it happens... I did read somewhere that when pregnant our brain is more sensitive to the signals for sickness (nausea and/or vomiting). Certainly thought my vomiting was strange as I felt fine before and after the event -different from previous non-pregnancy vomiting. Either way, I hope you start to feel better soon.

Not looking to find out the sex here. Both DP and I agree we're happy to wait for the surprise to find out, and we're not a fan of gendered toys/clothes/colours. A happy healthy baby is what we care about!

nehagarg · 03/01/2016 13:40

mrslewis ... Had the same thing but My nausea faded 6 weeks ago. The no notice vomiting has started a couple of weeks ago. Same as jellybelly, I feel absolutely fine before and after so its a bit annoying because now I live in perpetual fear of vomiting in public because I have had no notice to get myself to a toilet.

Definitely finding out the sex. Way too impatient to wait and DH is jumping around in excitement about it too. Will avoids blues and pinks though. 8 days to go until 20 week scan! Gaaaaah, hurry up!!!

mrsmugoo · 03/01/2016 13:48

Of course healthy is the priority and we really have absolutely no preference either way but we really want to be able to tell our DS if he is getting a baby brother or sister.

I'm not one for gender stereotypes either but once you get past the sleepsuit stage most clothes do tend to be more suitable for one sex or the other. I never buy slogans, logos or pictures - all my DS clothes are plain, block colours or stripes and I tend to stick to neutrals, navy, red etc.

If I had a girl though I might like to buy denim pinafores, funky tights that sort of thing, I'm sure there would be some clothes crossover but not everything I have for DS I'd want to dress a girl in and so if we were having a girl I'd certainly have a big clear out and donate to friends/charity.

And as for toys none of his were particularly gendered until recently when he became obsessed with cars, helicopters and diggers. I bought him a little pushchair and he tips it over and pretends it's a car.

I didn't find out sex last time but I am excited to be able to refer to bump as he or she this time. That was the only thing I disliked about not finding out - having to refer to "it".

dollydaydream84 · 03/01/2016 14:00

Hello one and all, happy new year! I am 15 weeks now and (I'm probably jinxxing myself) but I barely feel sick now unless I am really, really hungry. I actually don't feel pregnant which is worrying me but I'm sure when I feel baby kicks, it will sink in a bit more for me. I hope the instant vomiting doesn't happen to me though I constantly carry a plastic bag with me just in case!!! Hope this stops for you all soon.

We aren't finding out the sex of the baby, lots to do this year before he or she arrives though so we are full steam ahead on decorating, de-cluttering and sorting!

Belvedere · 03/01/2016 14:00

We went to window of the womb in bs3 mrsmugoo. I found a 20% off code so it was only £44 which wasn't bad. I'm really glad we did as it was lovely for ds to be there and the staff there are really nice. Have you got the date of your next scan? Mine is less than two weeks away but I'm sooo impatient! Now to sort out all the clothes.

Belvedere · 03/01/2016 14:03

Oh and it was so lovely for DS to run around shouting baby sister and he told his granny the news which was lovely. I dress him in very gender neutral clothes too so will be able to keep some for her but I also know I'll want to put her in some more girly stuff so it's nice to be prepared. Now for the 20 week scan to check she is all ok.

mrsmugoo · 03/01/2016 14:04

Yeah it's 20th Jan which seems ages away! I also quite fancy that idea of just seeing baby wiggle around for fun before the seriousness of the anomaly scan. I was so nervous all the way through last time :(

Where did you get the discount code from? £44 is really good!

mrsmugoo · 03/01/2016 14:23

I just booked for next Saturday! Found the code and it's pretty close to where we are too. Eeeeek exciting!!

Torfhinn · 03/01/2016 15:31

18 weeks today! Feels like just yesterday we were all joining at 4/5/6 weeks and now looking forward to 20 week scans! Time is going so fast now Smile

Had a massive declutter over the past few days... think its a bit of nesting starting!

Sorry to those still suffering with vomiting. My gag reflex is still super strong and brushing my teeth nearly makes me vomit everytime.

Welcome to everyone new. .. more twins! Congrats to those having great scans. We found out the sex last time and i loved referring to bump as 'my son'. We are going for a surprise this time though, but i totally understand the need to know!

Belvedere · 03/01/2016 18:25

Oh cool, well done mrsmugoo. They try and sell you loads of hilarious tat but we just with big standard photos. They are all really nice in there too, really friendly. It's great! Good luck and let us know when you find out.

pamplem0usse · 03/01/2016 20:16

Girl here too and all looking healthy!
Already have dd (5) and ds(3). Didn't find out with dd; ds flashed his bits on 20 week scan (but hadn't intended to find out). This time wanted them to get the experience of coming to a scan - plus they were both insisting it had to be a girl and if it wasn't wanted to be able to prepare them before the baby arrives! Needless to say they're thrilled and explains my hypermesis which I had with dd but not ds (still vomiting at 17.5 weeks despite meds :( ). Anyway can basically see both sides on the finding out front and it's exciting either way!!!

MollieRos · 03/01/2016 20:34

Not wanting to speak too soon (I have been overly optimistic about this in the past!) but after a few days of the sudden vomiting thing, I've now had 2 or 3 days where I haven't thrown up once! I haven't even felt sick today, which is the first day without nausea for 11 weeks Smile So maybe the sudden vomiting was the last bit of morning sickness before it clears up for good (I have my fingers and toes crossed).

LouLou030783 · 03/01/2016 20:37

I didn't know with dd or ds this time I'm wanting to find out and so are kids X and dd wants a girl and ds a boy so figure better finding out now so they can get used to it being the opposite x

Spock27 · 03/01/2016 21:08

We've decided to find out the sex at the scan (18th January) but it's not really anything to do with getting prepared for me, I just still don't really feel like this is all real and I think it would help to be able to get used to the idea of having a son or daughter. I have a feeling I'll be overwhelmed enough on the day of the birth without having that too! Does anyone else still feel a bit unconnected to the whole pregnancy thing? People keep saying that I must be so excited, it's getting tiring pretending...

Belleboo23 · 03/01/2016 21:14

I'm booking a scan soon it's making me more excited to find out now lots of you are!! Found one for £49 it's 3d and includes finding out the gender, 2 colour pics, 2 black and white and a dvd thought that was quite good

nehagarg · 04/01/2016 07:03

I've been awake since 5 AM!!! Sad ... Has to happen on the Monday morning before going back to work. Grrrrr ...

mrsmugoo · 04/01/2016 07:43

Awake since 3:30 here. Thought I'd seen the back of the stupid preggy insomnia :(

I don't work Mondays but being home with a toddler is WAY harder!!

jbiscuits · 04/01/2016 07:52

Checking back in after a very busy Christmas and New Year. Am now in need of another holiday to recover!

Very exciting to see people have been finding out boy/girl. Our 20w scan is next week (how did that come round so quickly?) and we still can't decide whether to find out or not!

jbiscuits · 04/01/2016 07:54

And mrsmugoo I feel your pain. DH is back to work today, so I'm back to being on my own with DS for the first time in almost 2 weeks. I keep wondering how on earth I'm going to cope with 2!

Lovelybeano · 04/01/2016 07:56

I feel for you girls that are suffering with insomnia, it makes everything so much harder to deal with. I'm the opposite at the moment, I can't get enough sleep, I'm so tired all of the time. Back to the alarm clocks this morning and I'm in an absolutely foul mood Sad fingers crossed it'll pass soon, it's the kids last day off so I want them to enjoy it rather than me being narky with them xx

BiffleRoo · 04/01/2016 08:05

I'm quite glad to be back to normal although I'll miss having DH and the older 2 home. I have a week to get back into the routine before DH goes away so need to get on top of the housework.

I suffered terribly with insomnia last time but so far this time it seems really mild although I struggle to get comfy now that I can't sleep on my tummy anymore.

Good luck everyone having scans this week.

emma85x · 04/01/2016 16:35

All this talk of 20 week scans is very exciting. Good luck to everyone having scans and appointments this week.

I was just wondering if any first timers still don't have any bump at all?! I'm 16+4 and still nothing, not even when lying down. Starting to get annoying now, would love to feel a bump. I remember some of you sharing bumps pictures weeks and weeks ago!

LouLou030783 · 04/01/2016 17:10

Emma when I had my ds I still didn't have a bump at that stage but it appeared over night
