Well I can't believe I am doing this but I am petrified the old thread is about to get filled up and we are going to loose people. ...

Happy New Thread (fingers buffering crossed this works AND I can manage to post the link Confused )

Belvedere I have pelvic girdle pain and am going for a physio appointment next week. The advice I got was get it dealt with as soon as possible as it responds best to early intervention, and simple exercises and/or a belt can really help. Mine has settled down from curled up in a ball on the floor clutching my right butt cheek in stabbing agony to a similar to you, strange kind of achey/grindy pain in the crotch and buttock when I twist or overstride.

Suzietwo · 01/01/2016 22:10

Has everyone told their other children yet? I'm nearly 16 weeks and have a 1, 4 and 5 year old. I carry big so had a long conversation with the 5 yr old toda about why I was so fat. He concluded I'd eaten too much popcorn...

I'd like to hold out to 20 weeks but maybe it's time. I doubt anyone else will tell them.

chillipopcorn1 · 02/01/2016 07:45

Hello! I am a very latecomer I know - been a bit cautious I think :) I am 16 + 3 with twins conceived on our first round of IVF /ICSI (MF). We are living abroad at the moment but moving back after the birth to be with parents. Twins will be a shock to our system! Had a scan today and doctor said he thinks they're girls but his crummy scanner couldn't see for sure. I always thought we wouldn't find out but I've been so excited and knowing makes it feel a bit more real if that makes sense? My bump just looks like a food baby and I haven't felt them yet so having a gender makes me feel closer :) Would love to join you lovely ladies if poss - my DD is 16.06 but I'm guessing with twins I may not last that long so maybe May, but you lot seem lovely!

Smiler81 · 02/01/2016 08:40

Welcome chillipopcorn nice to see another twin pregnancy on here, my DD is 28.06 but as you say expecting earlier. Ours were also through first time ICSI so feeling very lucky so be in this situation but still a bit daunted by it all. I'm only 14 + 4 so slightly behind you and the bump is quite small that most people wouldn't notice. Still feels strange having a small bump though as I've always been really slim, but have a bit of shape for once.

nehagarg · 02/01/2016 09:33

Welcome Chili. How exciting to have another set of twins on the thread. Congratulations. Being with parents is a good idea. Mine live in Oxford and my mum at least is planning to come over for a few weeks to help out and I have just the one. Smile

Suzie Your 5 year old sounds adorable.

Belvedere redtammy I have pelvic girdle pain too. Mine is limited to a spot on my lower back on the left and hurts when I walk or bend. Midwife did say that she will refer me to physio but its been 3 weeks and I havent heard anything. Going to call her on Monday in case she forgot. Last thing I want is for this to get worse. Like redtammy says, early intervention is best. In my case hot and cold packs and pelvic and back stretching exercises seem to help

MollieRos · 02/01/2016 10:11

Welcome Chili so exciting having twins!

TattedPixie · 02/01/2016 10:52

I'm back. Christmas and New Year all done and dusted and just a few things happening before baba is due to arrive. Hope you all had a good New Year, I spent mine on the sofa with OH, while a party happened in the kitchen lol

mrsmugoo · 02/01/2016 10:53

Just checking in - I think this thread dropped off my "I'm on" list because I went on a bit of a posting spree!

I'm doing really well but still haven't progressed from a handful of teeny tiny flutters. I had one "poke" about 2 weeks ago then nothing since.

Had my midwife appt which was all normal and in/out in 10 minutes. No midwife until 28 weeks now - next appt is match 18th!

I keep walking into doors, furniture and I've completely lost the ability to park the car - I had this before with my last pregnancy where I completely lost my spacial awareness. I'd forgotten all about it! My DH thinks it's pretty funny.

My sleeping is much better and my DS has been pulling some epic 8-8 sleeps so it's been heaven!!

Raining again and I starting to feel a bit stir crazy - DS loves splashing in puddles in his wellies but not in sideways, driving rain!

Potkettleblack2 · 02/01/2016 11:50

I managed to stay up until 2.30 on NYE! But I'm paying for it now-I've such a bad headcold, and I'm feeling miserable! I'm hoping that with rest it will go away before I go back to work on Monday. I'm feeling sorry for myself!

Belvedere · 02/01/2016 12:37

Mrsmugoo I've been feeling the same re. Pokes and movement. I've felt a couple but not regular and it's been making me anxious. Booked a cheeky scan later today so I can see and find out the sex!

And snap on the ds sleeping bit, it's been bliss. Today was 8.30!

Thanks for comments on PGP shall I book to see the doctor or call the midwife? I've not got another midwife appointment for weeks!

nehagarg · 02/01/2016 13:41

Belvedere I'd say call the midwife. She should be able to refer you to the physio team. I have just received my referral letter (only took 3 weeks Hmm)

Potkettle hope you feel better soon. I have just recovered from one. Its a horrendous thing to have when you are pregnant. Ginger lemon and honey in hot water really helps. As well as steam with some peppermint or tea tree oil or vicks vaporub.

Belleboo23 · 02/01/2016 15:47

My two are great sleepers so going back to newborn times will be a huge shock to my system, have loved the lazy Christmas holidays just wish it wasn't ending next week! My eldest is approaching his teenage years and finally emerged from his pit at 10.30 and my daughter was 9.30 so definitely hoping for a chilled out good sleeper Grin.

Midwife for me is Thursday but have booked in doctors Wednesday I'm having a few anxiety issues getting myself completely worked up over silly things to the point i can feel my heart race not sure what they can do for that but can't be good for either of us

Potkettleblack2 · 02/01/2016 16:36

Belleboo it'll be good to talk to someone about it-that in itself may help.

Random-but in all of your maternity wear searching can someone let me know if they come across a black jersey shortsleeved/sleeveless maxi dress with a v neck?! When I had DC1 the woman in the bed opposite looked really put together after delivering her baby and that's what she was wearing. She said she'd worn it loads at the late stages of pregnancy too. I know it's early days to be thinking about what to wear after the birth but I'm not planning on buying any maternity wear if possible other than this elusive dress!

mrslewis2015 · 02/01/2016 17:34

Sorry for my lack of posting! Busy/lazy Christmas and new year!

Lovely to catch up on all your news, welcome to all the new posters, great to have you here!! Sorry to hear about all the sickness still going on, i too am much better but not good yet! Also no movement despite constant tummy holding! Haha hope I feel some soon!

Belvedere · 02/01/2016 19:19

So the private scan was lovely, really worth it. We found out we are having a girl, which is a massive shock as I was convinced I'd have two boys, but a lovely shock. Ds was running round the scan room shouting 'baby sister' it was very sweet. And it looks like my plancenta is anterior which would explain the lack of movement.

I wore a normal short sleeve, v neck maxi dress last pregnancy, it was from warehouse I think. I imagine you'll be able to find one once the summer stuff comes out.

laughingGnomette · 02/01/2016 19:28

Aaaah! That is so sweet Bel!! Many congratulations :)

Mrspopper · 02/01/2016 19:37

Still can't decide whether to find out the sex. We knew last time so wondering whether to not find out this time. Keep changing my mind!

Belvedere · 02/01/2016 20:16

Apart from being terribly impatient, second (and last) time round it means I can go through all of ds's things and get rid of stuff we won't need. I like the house to be clutter free!

Rose2806 · 02/01/2016 20:48

Hey everyone!

Sorry for being absent recently, Christmas/New Years was a bit crazy! Feeling better than previously but still occasional nausea, definitely not blooming yet! Im 16w tomorrow and for the last few days have had aching pains on either side of my uterus- this sounds a bit different from the pelvic girdle pain some of you are describing, I'm assuming it's just stretching of the ligaments?

Does anyone have good advice on pregnancy pillows? I think it's time I got one as keep tossing and turning and ending up on my back, I looked on amazon and was shocked at how big they are! Are they all the massive U-shaped ones and have people found they work well?

MollieRos · 02/01/2016 21:54

Rose my DH got me a pregnancy pillow for christmas. I normally fall asleep on my front but then always end up on my back for most of the night, so I wanted something to keep me on my side. I was a bit sceptical, but actually it's been great. We have a normal double bed and I saw a couple that were gigantic that seemed like they'd leave DH without any room to sleep! I've ended up with one called something like Summer Infant Body Pillow- it sort of curls round and doesn't take up too much space. I'm just starting to get used to it, but so far it's been great at keeping me on my left side all night, while still being comfy. I can also prop myself on it to fall asleep on my front still so I'm making the most of that before my bump gets in the way too much!

GuessHowMuchILoveGin · 02/01/2016 23:29

Ah, Belvedere - lovely to hear about your pink bump.

Pot, I had a black, v-neck jersey maxi dress from Primark last time, so am almost certainly the uber-chic woman of whom you speak Wink. It was lounge/nightwear, non-maternity and a size 8-10 fit my humungo-bump so it was thrifty and ego-boosting too. Win win.

BiffleRoo · 03/01/2016 10:22

Thought I'd better post as the thread had dropped off my feed. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I'm 17w now and hardly feeling any movement which worries me slightly, I'm also hardly showing and have only put only a few lbs which is unusual for me. Thank goodness for my Doppler which has stopped me from going insane with worry.

Consultants appointment on Wednesday and then scan booked for 18th Jan. Will feel so much happier after my 20 week scan once I know nipper is developing properly and all is ok.

LouLou030783 · 03/01/2016 10:30

That's lovely news on ur baby girl. I presume most people on the thread are finding out their baby's gender? X

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 03/01/2016 11:58

I'm pretty sure we are going to find out the gender. It's our first but we are just to impatient to wait till the birth lol. Our 20 wk scan is not until 1st feb so have a while to wait yet.

mrslewis2015 · 03/01/2016 12:21

Just scanned back to check, but really glad to know I'm not alone in the sudden, no notice violent vomiting! I had terrible unrelenting Nausea since week 4 until last week, which has faded a bit only to be replaced with this vomiting! Any ideas why it might be happening?
