Happy New Thread (fingers buffering crossed this works AND I can manage to post the link Confused )

Gnomette - Your DH sounds lovely. Mine is being super nice too but the hourly instructions about how to take care of myself are beginning to get to me. I know he means well though. Smile

So lovely that we already have Gender scans. I cant wait to find out. My 20 week scan is in 10 days. Beginning to panic about the "anomaly" part of the scan a little now though.

My 2 grandmas visited yesterday. Asked to hear the heartbeat on the doppler. Had to connect my doppler to our woofer system before it was loud enough for them to hear. Lol. Grin

Have started feeling tiny little pokes here and there now. The flutters come and go. Had loads one day and nothing the next. Will the worrying never end??

bikingintherain · 31/12/2015 09:19

nehagarg my DH has been the same in previous pregnancies, but thankfully has a poor memory, so this I me I don have a worried/caring person looking over my shoulder.

I've been feeling quite a few flutters, nearly every day now which is nice.

Violet88 · 31/12/2015 09:26

Gender scan yesterday and I can now reveal we are having a little boy!!! DH had a little tear in his eye when the sonographer told us the news!! So team blue for us!! So excited to get buying stuff for him now!!! Will have to find the spreadsheet to update it.

I thought he wasn't going to tell us as at first he had his legs crossed and I had to keep turning from my back to my side to get him to move!! Also he appears to sleep with one arm over his head like DH does, so we thought that was quite funny!! xx

iamdivergent · 31/12/2015 09:37

Lovely news violet I have a another 33 days til 20wk scan! Can't wait to find out.

PrincessPunzie · 31/12/2015 09:43

Does everyone already have their 20 week scan dates then? At my 12 week one I was given a piece of paper to hand in at the end to set the process in motion but I haven't heard anything. My midwife thought that seemed irregular and that they should have told me on the day - she tried to phone them to chase it up but she gave up when she couldn't get through. I wouldn't have a clue who to ring to chase it myself so I'm just impatiently waiting! I'm assuming that they'd confirm by post nearer the time anyway? I'm 17+4 so hoping that I'll hear soon!

Betty79 · 31/12/2015 09:54

Aww lovely violet!

Princess mine was booked at the end of the 12 week scan along with a consultant appt the week after, which is good so I could choose the time to suit.

LouLou030783 · 31/12/2015 09:57

Aww that's lovely news violet my 20 week scan isn't until the 9th Feb seems so far away.

Princess they booked mine at end of my 12 week scan aswell so I'd maybe contact midwife and ask her to chase up again x

Belvedere · 31/12/2015 10:02

Lovely news violet! Ive just booked in for a cheeky gender scan on Saturday, I got a good deal of £40 and the place is 5 mins from home so thought we'd treat ourselves! Be nice to take DS with us too, not that I think he'll care much!

Lovelybeano · 31/12/2015 10:07

Aww that's lovely news violet congratulations xx

nehagarg · 31/12/2015 10:14

Woohoo!! Great news Violet .. Congratulations. Happy Shopping! Smile

nehagarg · 31/12/2015 10:22

MollieRos · 31/12/2015 10:23

Lovely news violet!

Just less than 2 weeks till my 20 week scan... I'm quite nervous about it, but assuming all is well it'll be so exciting to hopefully know whether we're having a boy or a girl! Princess I think they booked mine at the end of the 12wk scan too. I would maybe ring the midwife and see if she can chase it up.

Felt loads of flutters and another little bump from the outside this morning while I was still in bed- a lovely way to start my day :-)

laughingGnomette · 31/12/2015 10:35

princess - they gave me my scan appointment details straight after I'd had my 12wk scan. I'd chase them up about it in the new year.

violet - congratulations!! I love being a mummy of a little boy :). That's two team blues so far I seem to think.

There is absolutely no chance of me being able to stay awake to see the new year in! I seem to have less energy now than I did in the first trimester :(

LouLou030783 · 31/12/2015 10:39

Oh I wouldn't mind being added to that I don't think I'm there xx

Belleboo23 · 31/12/2015 10:40

Mine was booked at the end of 12 week scan plus they had booked me in for two other hospital appointments just written on my notes need to find out from midwife next week where I need to go and what one of them is for! So I'd definitely get it chased up, think we are going to go for an early gender 3d scan because beginning of February seems ages to wait for 20 week scan

Betty79 · 31/12/2015 11:28

Happy new year everyone, not sure I'll make it to midnight awake either! Had a shocking nights sleep last night and feel like I'm coming down with a head cold! Anyway here's to 2016, it's going to be a good year!SmileWine(that's non alcoholic wine of course)

clarish84 · 31/12/2015 11:51

Congratulations violet welcome to team blue it's so exciting Grin
Hope everyone has a wonderful new year I will more then likely be a sleep way before midnight x x

nehagarg · 31/12/2015 12:19

Sorry to ask a TMI question in the middle of excitement for the new year but has anyone else ever thrown up for no rhyme or reason? I am not nauseous and dont have heartburn. Felt perfectly fine one second and then coughed and started throwing up. Happened a few times in the past couple of weeks and I am beginning to wonder whats going on.

MollieRos · 31/12/2015 13:57

nehargarg my sickness seems to be developing into this for me too- I've been used to feeling more and more nauseous till I eventually throw up, with plenty of time to get to the toilet. But recently I've had about 5 seconds notice then am suddenly puking. Not looking forward to managing this new phenomenon at work when I'm not always close to a sink/toilet!

nehagarg · 31/12/2015 14:08

Oh no ... So sorry you are going through this too MollieRos. Mine seems to be a result of a bad cold I caught. Its been 3 weeks and I am still not completely recovered. It really is horrendous. As gross as it sounds, I need to go duvet shopping now! Not fun! Hope you feel better much quicker than I did. Steam with peppermint or tea tree oil and ginger, lemon and honey teas really help. Oh and lots and lots of onions if you are congested. Cooked or raw.

laughingGnomette · 31/12/2015 15:19

Sounds rotten nehagarg and Mollie.
Could it be something to so with having an over sensitive gag reflex at the moment when you cough? I can't clean my back teeth at the moment without retching. Oh so glamourous!

PrincessPunzie · 31/12/2015 17:24

Thanks all for the replies re. 20 week scan, I'll call the midwife in Monday.

I think I'm starting to show. Not in a nice, tight bump-y way but in a pudgy, gross way, and there's been so much pressure on my bladder this week that it's horrible, I'm guessing it's linked. I've had to abort three attempts to go for a run in two days due to the discomfort. I dropped off a sample at the doc's in case it's a UTI - they think probably not but I won't find out for sure til next week. It was my wedding anniversary today but instead of the planned day-trip I spent most of the day in tears. Argh, hating pregnancy at the moment! Definitely looking forward to a glass of something later to cheer me up. Happy New Year all x x

nehagarg · 31/12/2015 17:54

Laughing. Sounds likely. Probably that and a combination of relaxed stomach muscles. Definitely not glamarous.

nehagarg · 31/12/2015 17:55

Princess that sounds horrendous. Hope you are feeling a little more cheery now. I dont see the big deal about pregnancy either. Will happily go straight to the newborn stage, thank you very much!

MadrigalElectromotive · 31/12/2015 18:04

I'm totally fed up with being pregnant too. I'm still being sick daily and I'm well over 18 weeks now. ConfusedHmmAngry

I've updated the spreadsheet to include my pink bump - looks like I'm the first expecting a girl, although I thought amys was maybe having a girl too?

Anyway, happy new year to you all. 2016 will be an exciting year!
