God caterpillars what an absolute bitch!!!!! I think u need to put her in her place, if my SIL said anything like that My OH would crack up never mind me how mean and rude. I hope her next shite is a hedgehog

Anyways man I'm so sick of being sick 14 weeks and exhausted with feeling absolute crap..had to actually be sick in to my coffee cup on the way home from shopping there how disgusting and Blush sorry if TMI.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas x

Eastend2015 · 28/12/2015 19:02

Loulou- your message did make me laugh but sorry you are having a miserable time!

JellyBelly- is your MIL my mum?! We have managed to shut everyone up by saying we aren't making any plans til after the 20 week scan, particularly as we have had issues before. I do empathise though! I'm finding it difficult not to get irritable too, especially as we are staying with the MIL at the moment and she keeps fussing over me and I can't wait to go home tomorrow. Persuaded DH to have Christmas at home next year though- just the 3 of us!

LouLou030783 · 28/12/2015 19:30

Eastend the kids were like mum u ok..oh yes just wonderful kids Angry

SliceofLemon · 28/12/2015 20:30

jellybelly we are in exactly the same position but already living apart during the week and having to fend off endless questions about our plans. I am also feeling a bit worried about my career after we move and when I want to return to work after mat leave! Not to mention the stress of selling and buying a house before May!

Feeling ok today but recently just been quite worried about whether the baby is OK etc. Think it really bothered me not being able to get NT measurement at 12 week scan. Looking forward to midwife appnt on Thursday to FX hear heart beat and get Quad test done!

May be feeling flutters but difficult to know! Had some very rigorous ones which could be felt from outside but seems unlikely to be baby at 15 weeks!?! Anyone who's had them, does it ever feel like muscle spasms but inside your belly?

Belvedere · 28/12/2015 20:55

What's the quad test slice? And be prepared your midwife may not listen to the heartbeat, mine didn't.

As for flutters, it feels like tiny pokes really low down near your pube line. I'm 17 weeks and have started to feel them but it will be some weeks till Dp Feels them too I think as they are so small.

SliceofLemon · 28/12/2015 21:08

Quad test is a blood test done from 14 weeks if they couldn't do the combined test at 12. Nearly as good at picking up genetic abnormalities.

She said she would listen for HB so think she will.

MollieRos · 28/12/2015 21:37

Lemon I've been feeling tiny flutters and rolling movements kind of like muscle spasms for a few weeks now. I didn't think they could be the baby but when the midwife asked me where I thought the baby was, I showed her where I'd been feeling flutters that morning. The doppler picked up a heartbeat exactly there, so I reckon it must be the baby! I'm feeling it most about an inch or two down from my belly button, slightly to the right hand side. Then yesterday I felt loads of flutters, then a gentle little bulge when I put my hand there. I'm 18 weeks tomorrow, but have been feeling flutters since about 14-15 weeks I think, so perhaps yours are just an active little one making their presence felt!

Lou sounds grim, I hope you start feeling a bit better soon.

SliceofLemon · 28/12/2015 22:02

Thanks mollie sounds promising. We will see if my midwife has the same success with the Doppler!

jellybelly85 · 29/12/2015 09:52

Gosh EastEnd2015 I hope not for your sake! She means well, but lives alone and tends to absorb the lives and dramas of others rather than doing anything herself. Christmas just the 3 of you sounds like a lovely idea!! Currently as MIL has mobility issues and finds cooking difficult OH and I do all the cooking at Christmas (we like cooking and eating nice food, so not an issue). I suggested that next year we might host Christmas and MIL was less than keen... she's going to be a challenge over the next few years I can tell already.

Lemons wow - nice to know we're not alone in multi-tasking many of the most stressful life events this coming year! I find it's not the events that are stressful (moving, selling, buying, jobs) it's the fending off questions! Think this is something I'm going to have to get used to though as comments/questions are unlikely to stop when baby is born. Best of luck with your scan this week!

mamapoppins23 · 29/12/2015 10:59

Yes definitely finding out too exciting. Can't wait to start buying baby clothes! 🙌

iamdivergent · 29/12/2015 12:08

We're finding out too. Bought some unisex sleepsuits in next sale, got 10 for £20. A pack is more boyish but I don't care they were too cute and I'll use them either way Grin

laughingGnomette · 29/12/2015 12:18

Good luck jellybelly and sliceoflemon with your house moves next year! Are you moving far sliceoflemon?

Had my appointment with the consultant this morning. I'm still dithering over going for an elcs or not so we discussed the pros and cons and my previous attempt to give birth naturally (which was a complete fail). We've decided to keep options open and they'll scan again at 34 weeks to check the size and position on baby and decide then. Really happy with this, I was expecting them to try and push me one way or another. Also got to hear the heartbeat again which was an unexpected bonus!

Eastend2015 · 29/12/2015 15:37

Good news Gnomette! It sounds quite early to decide on the birth so good you aren't being pressurised.

Jellybelly that sounds like my mum to a T- although she and my dad are still together I think he is often as bad as she is!

Heading back to London today from the MIL's and I'm really glad- lazing around on someone else's sofa is never the same. Plus if she mentions my "condition" one more time I'll bop her on the nose! (What an ungrateful DIL I am!). I'm not sure which approach I prefer really- it's GC1 for my MIL but GC4 for my parents who have barely batted an eyelid other than to ask me whether I had my dates wrong as I was so big when they saw us compared to both my SILs (bloat which has now mostly gone). They are currently creating drama over GC3 who was born just before Xmas. My MIL has been constantly fussing and keeps mentioning previous MCs as a reason to be "extra careful", sigh! At least she cares though!

kezod · 29/12/2015 16:37

I have just waved off MIL and FIL with a sigh of glee. Both lovely but your house is never your own when its full of other people!
Glad to have an hour to catch up on the thread, I'm going to look at the New Look sale after this to see if I can bag some bargains (thanks for the tip!).
I managed to be sick only once over the festive period whilst feeling quite nauseous so I don't think I did too bad, I definitely thought a lot of us would be feeling better, but it sounds as though plenty are still suffering! Hopefully not for too much longer (I want to bloom and glow like it says we should!)
I've been feeling little movements for a while now too (15+4), and feeling very bloated, think I'm starting to show a bit but it's hard to tell as my tummy just feels very soft and flabby after Christmas! Low down has a little bump so I'm keeping an eye on it!
Hope you all had a lovely time!

Torfhinn · 29/12/2015 18:01

I had my consultant appointment today as well. I was really surprised as they were very open to me requesting an elcs (despite not asking for one) and are offering lots of support to help my next birthing experience be more positive. I actually feel better and more positive about labour and birth just from having some recognition that the first time was pretty bad and they want to work with me to make this experience better. Glad you are feeling supported as well gnomette.

Sorry to here some of you are having a tough time with the 'dear' family. caterpillar, your sil seems an absolute b**ch Shock

I was very neglectful of my skin last pregnancy and didn't get any stretch marks, and i had a very big bump! Unfortunately, i think if you are going to get them, you'll get them no matter what...

SliceofLemon · 29/12/2015 18:24

2 hours away laughing so not too bad but house prices nearly double what they are here!

socktastic · 29/12/2015 19:05

Can I join? I may need to be in the July group as due date is 30th June!
It's only just beginning to sink in that this is going to happen and with the appearance of a distinctive - although small - bump today, I'm ready to take the next step of the journey and join a club!!

iamdivergent · 29/12/2015 20:46

Welcome socktastic Smile we're a friendly bunch in here, if your due date is in June then you're in the right place.

CharlW1 · 29/12/2015 21:19

Hi all - I've been lurking for for a while so thought I'd finally say hello. I'm due 22nd June with DC2. I have a DD age 2.

Torfhinn · 29/12/2015 21:57

Welcome charl and socktastic!

Eastend2015 · 29/12/2015 23:35

Welcome both!

Lovelybeano · 30/12/2015 05:51

Welcome charl & socktastic

I had a rubbish day yesterday, couldn't eat, really dizzy and generally yucky, hardly any sleep last night and I woke up crying, I'm guessing my hormones are doing a merry little dance and hopefully it'll pass soon. Bit annoying after having a while feeling great Sad

I hope everyone's had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying the break xxx

Belvedere · 30/12/2015 07:53

Hi Charl GrinGrin guess you?!

MollieRos · 30/12/2015 08:05

Welcome Socktastic and Charl Smile

Torfhinn that makes me feel better about my very slapdash moisturising routine- probably nothing I can do about stretch marks anyway!

beano sorry you had a bad day yesterday, perhaps today will be better?

nehagarg · 30/12/2015 08:47

Welcome charl and socktastic.

Hope everyone had a brilliant Christmas. Sorry to hear the nausea is still persisting. Fingers crossed it will be gone soon.

Anyone else not feeling hormonal at all? I asked DH yesterday just to confirm and he said I have been completely normal after the first semester when I was definitely "loosing it". Feels a bit odd. Maybe the fabled second trimester bloom? Though I am 18+2 now so its high time. Still feeling very tired after simply taking a shower though.

Another one here with no routine to moisturising.
